Location: Breakstone Lake
Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: Laura Kinney, Stepford Cuckoos

Laura Kinney has posed:
The weather was nice, so Laura was spending the day outside. She'd made her way around the lake far enough that only the more dedicated hikers would come out here, the ones less likely to disturb her, and set things up. Blanket to lie on, books to read, the warmth of the sun to enjoy. Currently, she's turning the page on an Asimov book. ...Sarah Kinney had always liked science fiction.

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
The scent of the approaching girl is unmistakable, distict from the hikers for the lack of sweat or loam on her shoes. This person clearly was not intending on a nature hike givne that they smell more of of strawberries, shoe polish, hairspray, bacon, and tomato. Laura can hear her approaching, footsteps barely hitting the ground as she circles one of the larger rocks.

The young woman, as it happens, is a blonde in her late teens wearing a blue sundress, a ribbon tied into her hair and carrying a neat little paper bag she got from a restaurant somewhere. Therein likes the bread and bacon it seems. SHe watches solemnly for a second and creeps toward where Laura is reading. She might even think she hasn't been heard, seen, and smelled already.

Laura Kinney has posed:
"Can I help you?" Laura doesn't even look up from her book, but it's obvious the prowler's cover is blown. "Or were you also looking for somewhere quiet to eat lunch and relax?" She turns a page, brilliant green eyes continuing to scan across the text. "You have good taste in sandwiches, by the way."

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
"...I brought you something" the girl replies quietly. "It wasn't very appropriate to--- well. Throw a plate in your face." There's a flicker of a rueful smile but then composed young blonde is solemn again. She approaches with quick steps and then holds out the bag with both hands, watching Laura thoughtfully from where she is standing beside the blanket. "I bought six. Force of habit. I don't see my sisters here, so... Five of them are for you."

Laura Kinney has posed:
"...Thank you." Laura reaches out and accepts the bag, opening it and placing it down beside her. One sandwich is removed and placed next to it, before the book is set aside and the teen unwraps her own sandwich. "Feel free to sit down. You have brought me food, the least I can do is eat it with you."

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
"Of course." The girl drops to her knees, smoothing her skirt reflexively as she does, and then proceeds to retrieve one of the sandwiches from the bag. SHe watches Laura's expression thoughtfully while carefully unwrapping her own sandwich. There's a degree of thoughtfulness and precision that probably seems wholly unnecessary given it's just a BLT, small fingers working carefully to be sure everything is in its place. She even straightens the top half of the sandwich at the end once the food is finally in hand. "I see they- solved the raptor problem, then...?" The blonde begins slowly.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura's expression is neutral, although slight hints of pleasure leak through her mental shields as she takes a bite of the sandwich. Her eyes flick over to the blonde occasionally, judging, evaluating. Mentally it probably feels like being watched by a big cat at the zoo. "Yes. Dr. McCoy developed a serum." Nomf. Mmmmm tasty sandwich. "I am Laura. I was not able to narrow down your identity from the pictures in the student records. Which one are you?"

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
The blonde pauses for a second, furrowing her brow as she glances up from her food to see Laura staring her down, and then quickly turns her eyes downward once more. "I am Celese Cuckoo. Most people can't really tell us apart," she replies slowly as she begins to lift her sandwich to her lips. Celeste eats with the same care and delicacy with which she unwrapped her food. Ten chews, swallow. A pause. She takes a deep breath. "And you are... Laura. Right? I- asked around about the talking raptor so I could find you."

Laura Kinney has posed:
"You smell different. I just did not have names to match to scents." Another bite, Laura chewing longer to savor the taste more than propriety. "Laura Kinney, yes. Logan's daughter." This is also true. There's a slight resemblance, and the slightly animalistic and feral mindset definitely carries over. "I do not think I was the only raptor."

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
"Unfortunately, no. That is why it took me so long to find you." Another of those flickering smiles, and Celeste looks up from her sandwich to consider Laura again for a moment. "Do we smell different?" She asks after am oment. "I have to wonder what that must be like for someone with such a keen sense of smell. Normally no one can tell us apart at all."

Laura Kinney has posed:
"The difference is very faint, but it is there." The first sandwich is finished, and Laura starts on the second. Indeed, her appetite matches her father's. "You do not all use the same amounts of soap, and your expressions diverge slightly when you are not close together." Parts of her training... to distinguish a target from a body double. "These are very good sandwiches."

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
"I'm glad you like them. I looked around for a bit trying to find the best bacon in the area so we could---" Celeste pauses here and then shakes her head briefly. "...Anyway. This is a nice spot. Maybe I should bring you sandwiches again sometime."
