Cast of Characters: Peter Parker, Kaminari, Riri Williams

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man was feeling a little nervous.

Aunt May was out, thankfully, but Peter had said a friend might be coming over. Aunt May had patted his cheek and said that he was a man now, and he had to be a proper adult.

Peter had snerked at that. First off, Mary Jane. Second off, MARY JANE. And third, making any kind of ungentlemanly move on Kami sounded like a good way to get turned into a scorch mark.

So, he waited in the living room, wearing the Spider-Suit. He felt he could do this, though. You can tell a Rock Goddess anything, right?

As long as they didn't make a song out of it.

Kaminari has posed:
Her coming was heralded by a text message.

A few hours later a black sedan with tinted windows pulled up to the curb outside of Peter's house. At which point one of the rear doors opens and a figure wearing a black baseball cap and dark sunglasses darts out heading towards the house before the car drives off again.

Ding Dong, the figure rings the doorbell.

Peter Parker has posed:
The door opens quickly to admit Kaminari, who is...doing pretty good at traveling incognito. She's got the rock star disguise down pretty good.

He closes the door, then sighs. "Hello, Kaminari. Welcome to my humble abode. I'm glad you could make it." He takes a deep breath, then says, "If you will be so kind as to follow me, I'll lead you to that lab I spoke to you about."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari is quite happy to step in through the front door, the less time she is outside the less chance there is for her to get spotted. What would the newspapers say if they caught wind of her showing up to some random Brooklyn home? It'd be a mess.

But mess averted, safely inside she grins at Spider-Man, "Do you always wear that?" there is an amused tone to her voice like she might be poking fun at him. Her eyes light up again like they did at the soundcheck when he mentions the lab, "Lead the way!"

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man nods, then heads towards the back. "I kinda thought it might be a little unfair, though, so there's a couple of things I'd like to tell you. First off...I feel a little bad not giving you the whole truth, so I'd like to do that. First, someone else may be showing up. They are a genius, really, and I think you might like what they have to offer. I need to talk to them about something I know little about."

As they step into the lab, he points to the far wall. "There's a heavy punching bag outside. Under it is a secret path to this lab. The bag itself weighs 500 pounds, so it's a very basic security setup."

He walks over to the table, then turns to extend his arms wide. "Be it ever so humdrum..."

Riri Williams has posed:
For those with more sensitive hearing, the teltale tearing wound of something approaching under repulsor power might be audible. Riri's in the Mark II again, taking the quick jaunt over to Pete's house as an opportunity for another test flight. Ironheart comes in for a landing in the back yard, the punching bag is slid to one side with a muffled scraping noise, and the armored hero descends the ladder. Huh. She wasn't expecting two heat signatures...

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari amused expression morphs into the most quizzical of looks as Spider-Man starts talking about confessions and the 'whole truth', "You didn't lure me here for some kind of love confession right? You're way too young by like a thousand years." she replies as if this has happened before.

She follows after him into the lab all the same, looking around and taking in the sights. Though she cants her head to one side curiously when the strange noise disturbance becomes audible to her, "That is a fascinating sound, is that your friend arriving? I probably shouldn't smoke in here, right?"

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man smiles. "Smoke would not be the worst smell to come from here."

Then he pulls his balaclava mask off. Completely.
The face underneath is...rather average. Short brown hair, brown eyes, no identifying scars or facial features. For someone with the street reputation he has, it might be seen as something of a letdown.

"Kaminari...my real name is Peter Parker. I was normal until a little over two years ago. I'm...well, this is what I do to help people."

He tilts his head as he hears the repulsors. "And that is another genius, someone I'd like you to meet."

Riri Williams has posed:
Okay, Steady Riri. One palm up, the repulsor node glowing, she makes her way through the door into the basement. "Oh. You don't have Peter hostage." The soft whine of charge dies, the hand drops, and Ironheart's faceplate lifts up to reveal... a surprisingly young teenager. "I'm Riri Williams. Ironheart, I work for SI with Peter. ...Who're you again?" Back to Peter. "You didn't tell me anyone else was gonna be here."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari shrugs lightly as she fishes in her purse for her kiseru pipe taking the comment about smells as tacit permission to smoke. "My full name is technically Yakusa-no-Ikadzuchi-no-Kami but Kaminari is a whole lot easier for people to remember and say so it's the one that caught on over the years." she doesn't seem to look at Peter any differently without the mask, perhaps it's just a case of humans are humans to her. "You seem disappointed in who you are underneath that, don't be. You're easily a better person than I am."

The moment of heightened is suddenly interupted by the entrance of a power armor suit, which makes Kaminari's expression light up with curiousity and interest. Though at the comment about not having Peter hostage, "Should I?" she asks tilting her head with a wry grin, "Are you a sought after hostage Peter?" she switches to the use of his given name.

"My name is Kaminari. Peter helped me out with some problems during a soundcheck before my recent concert." The white haired black baseball cap and dark sunglasses wearing young woman seems just as happy to fly under the radar of being recognized all things considered.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter smiled a little apologetically. "That's my fault. A few things are happening fairly quickly, and things sorts collided. First off...Kaminari, this is Riri Williams, one of the smartest people I have ever met. That suit of armor...she designed it and made it. Riri, Kaminari is a Japanese deity of thunder and sound. In a very real sense, she is a literal Rock-and-Roll goddess." He takes a deep breath. "Riri, Kami here is fascinated by technology."

Riri Williams has posed:
"I saw two people on thermals, He didn't say..." Riri sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose between armored fingers. "He is good at tech stuff though. And helping people." Oh hey, they're talking about her armor now. The whole goddess thing pretty much is just accepted. Thor's the god of thunder, so other aliens being gods works too. "I didn't really design it from scratch. I found some wreckage from one of Iron Man's armors, reverse engineered that... I still am working on some stuff of my own. ...Didn't bring any of the really fun stuff though. Peter just wanted to talk armor. So no gravity gun."

Kaminari has posed:
For all of her sarcastic banter Kaminari is still absolutely fascinated by the armor, beyond what she has seen in Peter's lab so far. "This is amazing, to think the uses of captured lightning have come so far. Leaps and bounds from when I was studying early human electrical sciences with the early Meiji and Taisho scholars. How do you power it? Human energy storage devices are usually quite bulky." she asks curiously.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter steps back for a moment. This is Riri's specialty, so he wasn't going to speak up just yet. He kinda kludged this meeting together to kill two birds with one stone (so to speak), so he walks over to his computer desk and brings over three paper plates, each with a slice of Aunt May's apple pie. She had remarked how much she was making for guests lately, but had said that she was willing to put the effort "because of all you do, Peter."

He still felt a little guilty about it, though.
He places the plates on the large center table while Kami and Riri converse.

Riri Williams has posed:
"Arc Reactor. Palladium based isotopic decay cell, lives about an inch behind here." Riri taps the glowing hexagon on the armor's chest. Could power Pete's house, and a big one powers the Stark Tower." Oooh, Pie. All is immediately forgiven as Riri acquires delicious pastry. Mmmmmm...~ "...But yeah. You've already got the chemistry knowledge, and a modified spinnerette setup like in your webshooters could spin aramid fibers. Make an undersuit out of those, overlay it with some impact gel over vital areas and some composite plating. You want enough flex to not shatter from blunt impacts, but also enough to, you know, actually stop things. Probably an overlapping scale design in the structure like an Abalone shell."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari was about to light up her kiseru pipe when Peter presents pie and so it is set aside for the time being in favor of the sweet smelling confection set before her, "Arc Reactor.." she repeats the unfamiliar word, "I would love to learn how one works. The leaps and bounds of human ingenuity to manipulate what was once solely the province of storm deities like myself never ceases to amaze me." She tries the apple pie and her face positively lights up, one might suspect that she has never in fact /had/ apple pie before. "This is the best thing since Nachos!" she exclaims as the entire piece of pie is quickly consumed, "Truly the West hides many delicacies."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter smiles wryly, but looks to Riri and takes a deep breath.
Reveal time.
"The armor's not for me. It's for a warrior who is trained in swordsmanship. She needs a set of light and flexible armor that can still take some punishment. And if you have any designs in a sword configuration, I'd REALLY like to see them."

Riri Williams has posed:
"Have you met Thor then? He's the god of thunder. You two should talk." Nom. More delicious pie. Swords, though... "I mean... I could /make/ a sword? Or some kind of energy blade? It'd need its own dedicated power source, though. I'd suggest looking at kevlar, or synthetic spider silk. I'm not a sword person though."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari's pie is just gone, she practically inhaled it, unable to get enough after the first bite. "You are not the first person to mention this Thor to me. I am sure we will meet soon. Two thunder gods in the same city, it seems inevitable." she listens absently to the discussion of swords and armor, eyes still wandering to the Ironheart armor. Though with her pie finished the kiseru is picked up once more and the end lit before she takes a long pull from it, "It has been awhile since I practiced any kenjitsu, but the key is the joints. The wrists, elbows, shoulders, they must be able to move freely and if possible the moments of the legs concealed to make it harder to read ones moves and when they will strike." she comments offhandedly before exhaling a series of smoke rings.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nods, tapping notes in a tablet. No crack in the screen. Guess with the new job, he can actually get stuff fixed even if it's cosmetic now.

"Those are good points, Kami. Let me get this down. Yes, this is going to be interesting. The person in question is a swordswoman from the Hyborian Age, around 10,000 B.C. by the Gregorian calendar. She's...come back through a currently-living blood relative."

Riri Williams has posed:
Riri's own pie has disappeared by now, plate returned to the table from whence it came. The teen's nose rinkles a little as Kami lights up, her faceplate dropping back down and sealing. One of the benefits of a good life support system. "For non powered, weight is a definite concern." She moves her arm, plates smoothly overlapping and shifting but always maintaining protection. "...So reincarnation is real. Hadn't expected that. ...Have you tried asking her what she wanted?"

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari makes a 'huh' expression when Peter says who the armor is for, "Ah the Jomon period. Before my time, sword techniques back then I suspect were a lot rougher and more reliant upon brute strength. But that's just a guess, being able to move effectively is still going to be important." The kiseru returns to her mouth. For her part, Kaminari seems to accept reincarnation as just another fact of life.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter rubbed his face. "I dunno if it's reincarnation. If anything, it's some kind of odd possession, since the person currently owning the body is still in charge. She - the original owner - and I both agree that Miss Sword Broad with a broadsword needs something effective but non-lethal against normal enemies, and something more...terminal...towards magical threats..."

He paused once more. "And she needs something better than a scalemail bikini."

Riri Williams has posed:
"Telescopic shock batons shouldn't be too hard to fabricate, and they'd be less lethal. Magical, not my department." Riri doesnt' even think SI /has/ a magic department. ...Although honestly she wouldn't be surprised if there /was/ one. As for the scale mail bikini comment... Kami and Pete are trreated to the sight of a suit of power armor doing a double take. Fortunately, She wasn't still eating. Probably would have choked if she was.

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari laughs at the scalemail bikini concept, exhaling another long stream of scented smoke, "A scalemail bikini would offer great freedom of movement, but not too much in the way of actual protection. It's a delicate balance, also it wouldn't have pockets or sleeves to carry anything in. Where do you put your cellphone in a scalemail bikini?" Practical concerns for a modern goddess, "Magical weapons are not easy to come by or make, they are typically the stuff of legends for a reason and those who have them are typically quite possessive of them."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter sighed. "Perhaps something edged with cold iron. Not magical, but supposed to be effective. It's going to be an interesting project." He looked to Kami and Riri. "The thing is, this resurgence means something, something important. She mentioned a sorceror she had tangled with in the past, and her presence might mean she was 'called' to deal with him again. Which is scary in itself, if this old sorcerer plans to make his own comeback...?

Riri Williams has posed:
"...That also sounds like it'd chafe. A lot. And not really offer any support. Support is important. " Probably something Pete doesn't really think about, but Riri has a modicum of experience with. "This something you're going to need help with the fab work, or were we just spitballing ideas?"

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari's eyes are still largely on Riri's armor as she continues to turn over in her head how it might work. "They do that from time to time. Sorcerers can be pretty terrible about staying dead. But they usually also have enough enemies that someone or another deals with them. Like I guess that's what this ...client? of yours is?" She nods along in agreement with Riri's assessment of scalemail bikinis as well.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nods slowly. "It's...something I'm going to need a LOT of guidance on. Maybe if you could meet her, Kiri. It might go a long way towards understanding what she needs..."

Peter looks up as he hears the front door open. "Aunt May. I need to go upstairs and help her." He looked down at himself. "Listen, Kami, Riri...I should go help. Riri, I'll talk to you in a little while about non-powered armor.
\r He nods to both of them, then heads up the stairs.
