Tracking Down a Sister
Date of Scene: 21 May 2020
Location: Fogwell's Gym
Synopsis: Atlin and Artemis meet after both have left home.
Cast of Characters: Atlin, Artemis

Atlin has posed:
Compared to the training and trials of Bana-Mighdal, the spaces within 'Man's World' and New York itself were rather tame. For Atlin? She found it rather made sense, given how helpless so much of the population seemed to be. Still, while she doesn't have the means to spar another at full force, nor with any of her weapons, at least she could indulge in some sort of physical exertion.

For the unnaturally strong Amazon, the weights within weren't exactly particularly testing, but it was a start and with enough reps it might serve for a warmup!

Dressed in the simple tunic she wore when not in her armor, the tanned woman hoists the bar literally full with weights over her head. Thankfully at this hour? The place was otherwise empty, leaving none to be disturbed by the sight of the admittedly athletic looking woman hoisting 500 kilograms like it were nothing.

Artemis has posed:
For her part, Artemis had been on a search for a particular bow but she had also heard that there was another of her kind around. She knew that the Themyscirans were around but this was something different. She had seen a story with this woman in it and was sure she recognized her. Having used her talents in both tracking and, well, persuasion, she came to this gym. Now, stepping in, she has on the clothes she had help picking out. Baggy top and pants. They don't look too bad but show off very little given they were picked out to hide her armor.

Upon entering, her eyes scan the room, looking for signs of life. That is when she is met with the sight of Atlin lifting that tremendous amount of weight above her head. Well, tremendous for man's world. For Artemis, it would hardly be a challenge.

"Hello?" She calls out to the woman.

Atlin has posed:
Atlin herself had wielded a bow, another archer of talent, but it was little more than an object of impressive craftsmanship compared to the Bow of Ra. The arrows it fired were exotic metals rather than magically empowered! The weapon however, as with all the others, it was probably hidden away.

Atlin herself had similar woes with clothing, assistance with picking up a few pieces to conceal her armor...and some of it had been destroyed in that rather public battle. She wasn't particularly fantastic about covering her tracks, so it was only a matter of time till someone like Artemis can find her.

The sound of a voice behind her? It had the Amazon turning on the spot, swapping the heavy weight into one hand like it were hollow plastic in suprise before she blinked. A familier face indeed.

"When did...?"

Not the most formal of greetings.

Artemis has posed:
A grin forms on Artemis's lips and she nods to her, "Atlin." She states simply enough before walking over nearer to her and giving a nod, "As for when? Well, only a few weeks ago. I have been traveling around and my travels have led me here." She states simply enough. All business, Artemis. Not usually the surprised type nor the type to let emotions get a hold of her even if it was nice to see another sister. She stands up straighter and looks to the weights with a smirk before looking back to Atlin, "That can hardly be of any use to you."

Atlin has posed:
The weight is dropped with a resounding thud, lightly it was going to mark the floor, but Atlin had no mind for the faux pas she'd commited as she steps forward, folding her arms under her bust and tilting her head. "A few weeks ago...you must have left soon after I did." A pause, she shrugs to glance back at the weights and give a soft laugh. "It does make things take a -lot- longer sister, but people are unnerved by many of our ways and our abilities."

She seems to consider something, a thought crossing her mind making the 'young' woman hesitate slightly. "You...you were not sent to send me back, were you?"

Artemis has posed:
A smile and a bit of a chuckle and she shakes her head, "No, I hardly have anything to do with that if that is even a thing. I am out searching for something." She looks to the side, "I have to get it back into Bana-Mighdall hands." She looks to Atlin, "Before it hurts someone else." She nods again before she picks a spot to lean and goes to do just that, looking to Atlin, "What are you doing here anyway? I have been gone since the beginning of the year. I only recently came to this part of the world."

Atlin has posed:
"I..." she trails off, pausing for a moment. "I injured a sister quite badly and..." she pauses, closing her eyes. She knew of Artemis' own trauma, after all everyone in Bana-Mighdall did. Unfolding her arms, the woman bends to sit down, resting down onto the weight. "I decided to volunteer to scout, to investigate Man's world further and learn what I could about the Themysciran Amazons."

A breath given, looks up to meet Artemis' gaze. "I think they were happy for me to be away for a time."

Artemis has posed:
A smirk and then she shrugs, "I don't know about that." She states simply enough, "But I can hardly judge." She states simply enough with a frown, "I had to do something terrible and now I have to fix it." She states and nods her head, "I would not worry about it, Atlin. You cannot fix the past." She shakes her head, "Even if it wants to haunt you."

Atlin has posed:
A moment of silence, somewhere between sad and akward, Atlin finally exhales a breath and forces a smile. "It is good to see you Artemis. Truely. How have you been finding Man's world? The culture here is...strange to me. But some of their food is wonderous." A smile broadening, she steps away from the weight towards the other woman. "Have you tried their 'waffles'? Or some of their other sweets. They are like nothing we have back in our home."

Artemis has posed:
A blink as she looks at Atlin and then she shakes her head, "I have not heard of waffles. I have found the world to be strange. Very strange. Turtle men, pajama people, raptor people and the like." She nods her head as she looks over at the exit a moment and then back at Atlin, "I have had a few sweets but what kind of sweets are you talking about?" She shifts up from her leaning spot, seemming a bit more interested in this potential sweets situation.

Atlin has posed:
"Come with me then," she speaks, the workout swiftly forgotten in favor of the promise of sweets. She even gestures towards the door and folds her hands. "I have found a few places in this city that are quite delicious, and I would love share with you. A celebration of us reuniting..."

"Pajama people?" she questions, with a pause and then gesturing for Artemis to follow despite a lack of any real authority. "I have already met demons, even encountered an attack by Satyr...it sounds like we have a lot to discuss."
