Punching Through The Grapvine
Date of Scene: 22 May 2020
Location: Another dimension, another dimension
Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: Sally Houki, America Chavez

Sally Houki has posed:
Working with clanestine services can be such a chore. After a multitude of cloak and dagger exploits, Sally had been paid and had opened a dimensional portal to allow for a meeting between a native intelligence service and one that operates on this plane, negotiating some form of their own exchange. These sort of things happen in the broader multiverse, after all, and are at least fairly notable when they occur.

Sally had taken pains to protect herself, of course, but no manner of avoiding attention is foolproof and word inevitably leaks of this sort of thing.

Which is, perhaps, why she chose to remain at a park at park in the shadow of an enormous mecha that dominates it. This particular universe is highly... robot centric, it would appear.

In any event, there beneath a red sky, bare feet dangling in the long grasses, sits Sally, waiting for the reutrn of her asset so that she can go home. They're not too far away, actually, with one of her other selves. She's just waiting to get the sense that they're business is concluded.

At least the pay is worth it, right? Being one of the few able to do this does provide for a premium service, but it does make you a little... exposed.

She puts her hands together behind her head, leans back, and stares up at the giant robot. It's impressive. And also terrifying. And immobile, unpowered, and really more memorial than anything else to this reality's past.

America Chavez has posed:
Which is where America comes in. Almost literally. She found out about Sally's reputation when she was doing some of her own dimension-hopping. And while she's certainly not the sort of person to just take the word of the authorities, it DOES have her curious. So since they told her where to look, she's doing exactly that. A star portal appears from the impact point where the young woman punches her way through the dimensional boundaries, and steps through. She ended up in the park, at least.

Sally Houki has posed:
Frigging authorities, what the hell do they know, right?

Sally is, however, staring in that direction whereas instead she had been sort of staring off into space as she is wont to do. Someone just appeared. Through a star shaoed portal. Over there.

"Aw, crap," she says. But there she is. She's hard to miss with her rather ridiculous aesthetic. Presently, she's dressed up in a bright pink dress with red stripes and a giant pink bow atop a pink-cat-ears hat atop her head, with her hair done up in an elaborte, bright blue-dyed bun.

She's really sort of hard to miss, for a fugitive.

America Chavez has posed:
Being hard to miss is good. It means that America doesn't need to do any kind of detectiving, since that isn't really her strong suit. But it doesn't take much to spot the brightly pastel girl over there. So she starts over towards the girl, lifting a hand in a wave. "Hey there." she says, when she's still a healthy distance away.

Sally Houki has posed:
"Hullo," says Sally, with a sort of guarded and understandable reservation as she's approached.

"That was pretty impressive, you know, like a star burning itself into my retinas. For a moment." She puts a hand behind her head.

America Chavez has posed:
"Yeah, it's a fun little party trick. Sorry if it caused you any problems. But some folks told me about you, and well, they basically wanted me to time-space cop you. BUT, I'm not so big on taking other people's word for things. So I figured it would be a good thing to pop over and well...see what the situation really is."

Sally Houki has posed:
"...ah," explains Sally, her tone going neutral. "Well, shit. I thought I'd managed to play it safe enough. I appreciate the caution. I'm not even sure who 'they' are and I expect you won't tell me. Which, I suspect, is fine."

"So, if you don't mind, can we bit a bit discrete? I got some clients that I'm working with, which is probably the whole problem." She leans back, a hand on the back of her head. She adjusts the bow atop it. It is very pink.

America Chavez has posed:
America looks back at Sally, and she gives a nod back. "Hey, as long as you're not trying to blow up the universe or anything? Sure. Let's be discrete. Since I've already been told a little about you...well..."

She moves over closer, offering a hand out to Sally. "America Chavez." She offers up her name.

Sally Houki has posed:
"Hi, America! You can call me Sally. I'm not blowing up realities. Why would I? It's where I keep all my stuff." She reaches out to take her hand and give it a polite shake. She definitely does not have the grip strength of one Ms. America.

Like at all.

America Chavez has posed:
"Well, you'd think that. But from what I heard, these folks are looking for you because they think you were responsible for a universe blowing up. At least that's the gist of what they were trying to say." America shakes, but only with normal human strength. No need to go showing off. "So...is that your usual outfit? Got kind of an anime vibe going."

Sally Houki has posed:
"... I mean, I'm Japanese?" points out Sally.

"I didn't blow up any universes. You're welcome to tell whoever it is this time that I said that," she adds, "I'm not a universe destroyer, not even a tiny bit." She holds her thumb and forefinger a scarce distance apart.

"I just wanted to see the giant robot." She points up at it without looking at it.

"Cool, right?"
