Synopsis: Alopex and Sally attempt to, once again, just enjoy dinner without being interrupted. They succeed!
Cast of Characters: Alopex, Sally Pride

Alopex has posed:
        It's almost summer time. YAY!
Arctic Fox is not fond of summer time. ...yay?

Despite it almost being the WORST SEASON OF THE YEAR, Alopex is still moving out and about. After a fairly uneventful day, the fox decided to reach out to one Sally Pride to see if they could pull of a meal meeting without being terribly interrupted for once! One can hope, right? Besides, the place is called Hell's Kitchen. It has food, right?"

Sally Pride has posed:
To be fair it probably does. If you don't mind dive bars and joints that are as much grease as they are food. But pickers can't be choosers, right?

It's also the sort of place Sally is not going to drive her fixer-upper car. They -don't- want trouble if they can avoid it, so she'd rather not tempt the carjackers and chopshoppers that probably lurk in those alleys.

Not that she's hard to find for someone that knows who to look for. But this is New York, and the butt end of it at that, with her biker jacket and sunglasses on no one is really going to risk bothering her on passing as she leans against a grit stained brick wall waiting for the vixen to make her presence known.

Darn ninjas. Never there until they want you to know they've been there.

Alopex has posed:
Honestly, Alopex wasn't hiding (too much) this time. As Sally makes an approach toward an alley near the restraunt Pex had found, the fox clears her throat, offers a wave, and starts to approach. "Hello, Sally. How's the ride?" She didn't see it wasn't the tuner, but whatever.

Sally Pride has posed:
The lioness's tail gives an idle flick as the ninfox catchs her attention, and snorts softly. "I'm reminded of why I need to modify my seats a bit." Shrugs a little. "But if something happens to an old beater instead of my 'project', I'm not gonna care too much."

Alopex has posed:
"Oh? ... Oh. Because humans don't have tails?" the fox guesses before drawing up her hood and slipping around the corner. Just a little down the street is a place called 7th Circle Burritos. "The owner of the Ground Cow's knee said a friend of his runs this place, and he's cool for folks like us. So, I figured I was in the area.."

Sally Pride has posed:
"That would be one reason, yes. Bodily differences in general." Even if she is a big closer to human than some mutants, still different species. Different needs. Sally tucked her hands in the pockets of her jacket to follow the fox. "It would be nice to have a burrito and not worry about needing to pick worms out of it."

Alopex has posed:
That gets the fox to wince, "Yes, I imagine that would be rather nice," she comments before stopping to glance at the sign, nodding, and head- nope. She pauses, police sirens blaring as they approach, getting louder...

Then they race on by to wherever they are going.

Alopex sighs. "Phew.. for a second I had to wonder," she muses before finally heading on inside. In the building it's sort of industrial, possibly with an steel-mill sort of theme going on. Why is it called 7th circle? The flavored sauces have scoville levels...

Sally Pride has posed:
Sally Pride doesn't even flinch at the sirens... Though it's more likely that with her familiarity with vehicles she can tell the cruisers aren't slowing down to pull over. Sure enough, they speed right on by. They've certainly got worse things to worry about than a couple of non-humans minding their own business.

That said, the lioness is still relieved when they do indeed go on their way, turning to follow Alopex inside.

Grungy industrial look, sauces ranked by 'level', in a part of the city referred to as 'Hell'. It actually gets a snicker out of Sally. "They know how to pull a theme together."

Alopex has posed:
"I .. won't argue that," the fox responds as she takes hold of a tablet of list-like tear-off menus, and a pencil. It's a checklist style place. Tick your boxes, hand it over, they make what you ask for. Multiple tortilla's with scoville levels, different protiens (and veggie options!) Cheeses, salsas, sour cream, queso, and the different sauces. MANY COMBINATIONS EXIST. "... He was right. He warned me the first time is a little intimidating, look at all these options..."

Sally Pride has posed:
Sally Pride was looking for an actual menu, so she didn't catch on until Alopex picks up one of the small tablets. "Oooh." She grabs one for herself. Followed by a whistle. "That is a pretty thorough list."

Meat, check. She is still primarily a predator in diet. That said a bit of lettuce and tomato doesn't hurt, though it's more for texture than flavor, along with the usual toppings.

She's still got to pause at the sauces though. Crinkles her nose a little at the memory of hot and spicy 'food' being used as a training/torture method to build certain tolerances... and opts for something a little lower on the scale. Safer for the first time, to give someone a measure to gauge by later. "We should probably get a spot to sit." She smirks a little at the fox. "Corners like usual?"

Alopex has posed:
The fox is pretty deep into the list when Sally asks about the seating, "Oh, ah, yeah, wherever you like, Sally," she responds before her gaze slides back down the menu. Chorizo? Yes. Very very yes. Still working on the rest of it, though, "Hrmm..." she'd idly follow after the lioness to wherever she decides to settle.

Sally Pride has posed:
Sally Pride finds one of those small raised tables that only seats two people. Since it is just the two of them. It's not a corner but it is against one of the partitions that divide up the joint (more likely for servers to keep organized than anything else) so it at least gives them some shelter should things (hopefully not) get crazy again.

It also makes sure she's got room for her legs under said table, resting boots against the bottom rung of the chair.

Alopex has posed:
Follow.. follow, check. Follow.. follow, check. Follow-bump. Oh. There's a chair there. The empty one across from Sally. "Oh. This works," Pex muses before hopping into the tall chair. She's about half way through hers. She did skip to the bottom to check for a drink, and then she's back toward the top. She gives pause at one point. "Hopefully things haven't been to chaotic for you lately?"

Sally Pride has posed:
"Not any more than the usual." Sally has worked her way down to the drinks as well. "Been more sightings of those Mouser things." Pause to check a soda. "Someone out there is using them to try and hunt mutants now -- just what we really need." A pause to double-check and she sets the tablet down. "But they're definately not any of Null's designs. Can confirm that after seeing them up close." After shooting a few holes in them.

Alopex has posed:
The fox has to think for a moment, but then nods when she recalls, "Oh, those robot things? .. Hate those things," she mutters, sloucing back into her chair with her list all filled out. She's pleased with her list which is quickly scooped up by a nice waitress who doesn't even flinch at the people she's tending to. "Well, you can get a hold of me any time if you need help."

Sally Pride has posed:
"Kainashi was there for one. Ask her about the sewer skate park." A pause, and then Sally snickers softly. "And 'accidentally' beaning a certain raptor in the head with one of the little ankle biters."

She pauses and smiles at the waitress, especially when they don't get any gruff over being there.

"And there is really giant gators in the sewer. But probably not flushed like the folks say."

Alopex has posed:
That actually gets the fox to stare. "... Giant... gators.. You're serious???" she asks, looking a little surprised. "There's so much around here, I can't even imagine that, plus the robots, plus EVERYTHING ELSE. I mean, I was skimming this internet and people were really up in arms about the 'election'? Not as if we can vote. There's too much going on in this town... I think I'll just keep to the rooves.." gators and turtles and robots and what's next..?

Sally Pride has posed:
"To be honest," Sally leans back in her seat a bit, tail curling around the side of the legs, "There is some comfort in knowing we're not the weirdest things out there... But that's all the more things to have to watch out for, too." She just snorts at the mention of elections. "Yeah, can't do anything involving that, so don't really care."

Alopex has posed:
The fox gives a shrug, "Yeah, suppose you're right about that," she muses as the waitress stops by with the drinks before moving on to another couple that came in. Hoodies themselves, so Alopex doesn't bother them. It's only fair, right?

Alopex's tail doesn't really lack the mass to do a nice curl, so the floof is just out behind her, waving at a slow pace. Sirens cause them to stop. Different sirens, though. Fire trucks? Yep. A large red ladder truck wizzes by, followed by a smaller marshall truck, then silence again. "I won't lie, I keep thinking they're coming here..."

Sally Pride has posed:
"You would not be the only one." As much as she's talking about herself, Sally jabs a thumb over her shoulder at one of the other tables where people are obviously relaxing again after the sirens go by. It's just a sort of 'not as different as some people try to make it be' gesture.

Alopex has posed:
Her gaze slips over, notices what Sally means, and she gives up a little smile, "Ah, I suppose so. I guess beyond our appearence we aren't so difference sometimes," she muses. NOW the food shows up. THe burritos are... well, they aren't small, that's for sure. These things could be -two- meals for a normal person given their size. "..um. Wow. Haha. These are bigger then I expected.."

Sally Pride has posed:
"Look perfect sized to me," Sally practically purrs. Lions have naturally big appetites, don't judge. That burrito is about as thick as an antelope's leg, though.

Thankfully this lioness is civilized enough to properly peel off some of the wrapping with her claws before biting into it, and savoring all that juice and sauce squeezing out into her mouth before biting it off and chewing contently into it.

Alopex has posed:
The fox is slowly peeling the foil off of her own, taking in the scent of it. She may not have as good a nose as Kainashi, but she can take in the aroma of all the DELICIOUSNESS waiting within the tortilla wrapped around it. There's about a jalapeno's heat to it, but not much more beyond that. One bite? Heavenly, in juxtaposition of the theme there, "MMmmhmmm," she gives an enthusiastic nod. Food good.

Sally Pride has posed:
Sally Pride is also enjoying not having to pick out random bugs or worms for a change. Pete means while, and is a fine cook otherwise. Just can't grasp that not -everyone- eats insects.

Eventually though she has to pause and use a napkin to wipe some dribble off her chin. "Heh. We actually got to eating finally. Imagine that."

Alopex has posed:
The fox is taking a break to have a drink, but the nod that follows has some energy to it. "Finally, yes! No hooks or crooks, just sirens that aren't meant for us. Finally," she muses as she settles back again, just enjoying the trailing taste before having another nom.

Sally Pride has posed:
Sally Pride nods in agreement. "Enjoy it while we can," she says somewhat tongue-in-cheek before resuming chowing down into her own.

Alopex has posed:
That just prompts the fox to knock on the table, despite it being metallic in its build. "Don't jinx it," she says with a smirk before continuing in her noms.

Sally Pride has posed:
Sally Pride mumbles something that was possibly "My bad" but with her mouth already mostly full of finishing off the large burrito it's not easy to make out even with those large fox ears.

Alopex has posed:
Alopex was mostly teasing, not really being serious about it. At this point she's starting to reel a little bit. Smaller critter, smaller stomach. She decides to wave down the waitress to ask for a box before settling back with her drink, "Mph. I envy you being able to eat the whole thing.."

Sally Pride has posed:
Sally Pride pauses in licking some sauce and stray crumbs off her fingers, and shrugs a little. "Lions are big eaters."

Alopex has posed:
"Well, yeah, I see that now, Sally," the fox muses, sipping on her drink. A pleased sigh slips from her. "Finally a quiet night."

Sally Pride has posed:
"Could be worse. They could of mutated a male. Doubt Null's restricted dietary budget could of handled -that- monster of an appetite." Not to mention males a bit harder to motivate into action outside of food and... yeah. We don't need to go into that. "Yeah. I'll drink to that." She grabs her glass of soda and clicks it against Alopex's. And then proceeds to chug it down.
