Cast of Characters: Robbie Reyes, James Rhodes, Karen Starr

Robbie Reyes has posed:
It was a beautiful day in New York City. Surprisingly enough, the world hasn't tried to end (aside from the weird stuff going on over in Metropolis with Superman recently found tobe alive), nor has it needed many of the Avengers today.

So, Robbie Reyes, AKA Ghost Rider, was out in the backyard, apparently on his Cellphone as he worked in the garage. "Yeah? Thats awesome man. I told ya you would ace that test, Hermano." for those with super hearing or just like to peek in on communications, he's talking with his little brother Gabe, who he's been pretty hush hush about.

But, it seems Robbie laughs with Gabe on the phone for a second, before he speaks. "Alright hermano, I better get back to work. Love ya, little bro." then he hangs up the phone after hearing the reply and then he sighs.

James Rhodes has posed:
James Rhodes descends from above in his trademark black and silver armor, the thrusters at his hips helping to stabilize him in a horizontal position as he lowers to the ground, the roaring engine of his boot jets slowly quieting until he can land safely without doing any damage to the lawn. Took him a while to get the hang of that.

The HUD display on his helmet quickly identifies Robbie, although they hadn't yet met in person, feeding Rhodey the data to know this isn't some intruder working on their bike at Avengers mansion. He flips up the faceplate and gives a small smile, "Hola. I'm Jim Rhodes. You must be Robbie?"

Karen Starr has posed:
Not only do the Avengers meet regularly, but additionally, Power Girl likes to check in on occasion to make sure that she's caught up. Things have been mostly quiet- especially for the Big Apple, and as a result, most of the time she's just doing this as a formality. There's always an Earthquake or a Tsunami to stop, but most of those get handled without her intervention. Most.

That's the situation today- things are clear enough that she can drop into the mansion without leaving anyone high and dry, and much like Rhodey- who likely gets a ping that an object matching her radar profile is approaching at high speed just slightly before she slows down in the sky above- Power Girl descends from on high with little fanfare and, well, no jets. Similarly, no lawn damage. Not particularly fair, but all the same, she just arrives with that little ceremony, like it happens every day.

"Afternoon. Figured I'd drop in." she calls, her tone as friendly as it gets.

Robbie Reyes has posed:
Robbie looked up to Rhodey as he arrived in that classic War Machine armor, which Robbie always thought was cool, but new he'd never really get to be in. "Hola, Senor Rhodes. Yes sir, that would be me." he approaches War machine with his wrench still in hand and his iconic jacket wrapped about his waist as he offered the man a handshake. then he pauses.

"...can you give handshakes in that thing?"

Then there's Karen Starr, AKA Power Girl.

He gives the Kryptonian a little wave as he chuckles. "I see what you did there. Do you usually make flying puns or do those just kinda accidentally happen? But, I don't think I've met you yet. Name's Robbie."

James Rhodes has posed:
James Rhodes smiles, "I can," he says, offering his hand and turning his head as Power Girl descends, "Damn, you make that look easy," he says as a compliment. He'd been alerted to her approach by his sensors, not that he could've done much about it. She's faster, faster than him.

"My uncle used to have a bike kind of like that. But crappier," he smiles.

Karen Starr has posed:
Power Girl is all smiles, and, to be fair, she's faster than most people, by a large margin. "He probably can," she admits, folding her arms calmly off to the side, just after giving a mock salute to return Robbie's greeting. "Might not feel great, though. It's all metal, and there are jagged bits. Might want to wear a glove." chuckling slightly to herself, she takes a step or two closer.

"Yeah, but I bet it feels better when you have to work for it." It's the best she can do to be comforting- she's all natural, and it just isn't fair. "I go by Power Girl. We haven't met yet, I only stop in every so often, when I'm not needed. He said your name was Robbie, right? Good to meet you."

Robbie Reyes has posed:
Robbie is pretty much invulnerable in either state he's in, but he does smile softly to James as he shakes his metallic hand. "Really, huh?" He looks over at the Hellcharger. which looks to be in sterling condition by the way, like it was newly minted and freshly bought. But nah, Robbie's been riding that machine for some time. "Remember the model?" he asks Rhodey in curiosity.

Then back to Power Girl as she kinda flaunts herself a little bit apparently as she takes a few steps closer. "Well, thankfully, all I know how to do is work for things, so I don't see a problem there." he chuckles. "Power Girl huh? I don't suppose you have a last name too." thats a joke. "But its nice to meet you too. I kinda feel left out, all I got is the ride and jumping really high. Maybe one day I'll have a plane or something."

James Rhodes has posed:
James Rhodes shakes his head, "No idea. He just called it the Ripper. He had a big old fro and pretended like he was in Superfly half the time. Dude was pretty cool, but threadbare cool, above his paygrade. I got him a much nicer bike when I started making money," he says.

He nods to Power Girl, "I'm not sure that's entirely true, but I'll take it. I'm lucky enough to mostly just be a pilot and not have to do nuts and bolts on this stuff," he says, patting the armor. "Yeah, I'm often away on business myself, so I haven't been attending as many meetings of late. Even now I'm back and forth between here and Vegas."

Karen Starr has posed:
Power Girl is, in a lot of ways, a walking flaunt. Anything she does extra is unintentional, though there probably ought to be a list of gestures Power Girl isn't allowed to perform coded into the Avengers bylaws. Folding her arms would probably be article number one. "Everything's better when there's an afro involved." she chides, clearly amused. "Thing is, we all have to try and be cooler than our paygrade. I sure try at it hard enough."

Her attention shifts to Robbie then, and she nods a couple of times. "Yeah, but it's not pronouncable in English. You'll have to be satisfied with Power Girl." That's a true statement- her civilian identity is still entirely unknown, even to the Avengers. "I'm sure Tony can put together a plane for you, but I think you've got me at a disadvantage. I know the War Machine, but I'm not familiar with you. Haven't been reading enough papers, apparently." She looks to Rhodes, and her arms drop, hands landing on her hips. "Well, don't be shy about calling in help. If any of us are ever bored, that's a good day- or a day we're not paying enough attention to. No reason not to call in an extra pair of hands, just in case."

Robbie Reyes has posed:
Robbie smirks to Rhodey. "That...is a horrible combination. Thank god my hair doesn't naturally go fro." He smirks as he turns his back on both Rhodey and Power Girl... - on Power Girl - to work on his car some more, apparently shutting the hood, but he does smirk. "Vegas, huh? Lemme guess, for uh...Tony?" he smiles a tad as he asks the question, but his attention shifts back to Power Girl.

"Thats probably a good thing, Chica. I'm not exactly in the best of situations power-wise compared to yourself or Rhodey, though power is nice, it definitely came at a cost."

Hands on the hips, probably another thing. Though Robbie might be one of the only people to not comment on it.

James Rhodes has posed:
James Rhodes smiles, "I can manage a pretty good one if I let it grow out, but Tony doesn't seem to build helmets meant to accomodate goin' natural," he says.

"I doubt you're ever at a disadvantage," he says to Power Girl. Regarding Vegas, he nods, "Tony's decamped there after calling off the campaign. Relaxing a bit now that he doesn't have to be on best behavior all the time - not that he ever really was. But after everything that's happened, I think he deserves a chance to let his proverbial hair down. Plus, his birthday's coming up shortly. Big party. Which means I have to organize big security>"

Karen Starr has posed:
Admittedly, nobody's commented on it so far. Probably only a matter of time, though. "I don't know about that, kid. If you're here, then you've got the right stuff. Doesn't matter how it fits on any sort of scale. All that matters is how you use it." she offers, before looking to Rhodey. "I think he'd have to build the afro into the suit, so maybe it's better that it doesn't have one. Don't know how intimidating you need to be. Might just look silly." She pats him on the back and while, through the armor, he can't feel it- there's still probably a pressure warning or two that pop up as she uses just slightly more strength than needed.

"And you'd be surprised too. There's always a bigger fish, and I don't always know how much I've bitten off. I don't think there've been too many instances of it being too much just yet, but nobody's as invulnerable as they need to be all the time, and all it takes is once. Survival or not, Doomsday wasn't named that way for no reason." A short pause, and she offers this small shrug. "I was planning to stop by the party, but an uncapped Tony might be a little too much for me to handle. We'll have to see."

Robbie Reyes has posed:
"Frankly, I'm probably not going. As funny as it would be to watch Tony fumble about everywhere, I'd rather not watch him self-destruct. Everyone knows he'll do something crazy, but I'll wish him a happy one." Robbie is apparently of a more serious sort. Based on what he's been through, he doesn't 'have fun' often.

Well, everyone has a preference.

He does smirk a little bit at Rhodey though. "Good thing, otherwise your helmet would just kinda look funny." he winks at the guy before he looks to Power Girl. "I think she's at disadvantages sometimes. No such thing as all-powerful, I think." he smirks. He seems to crouch down to investigate how the wheels are doing, looking at the rims. "hmmm."

But, when Power Girl speaks, he smirks. "Well, at least you're aware."

James Rhodes has posed:
James Rhodes smiles to Power Girl, "Pepper and I won't let him get too far off the reservation. Part of the job - to recognize what goes too far. Cause he doesn't always. His brain doesn't work that way. I don't know if anybody really knows how his brain works. Not even Tony."

"And she's right. You wouldn't be here if you didn't belong," he adds to Robbie. "Power's not the most important thing. Captain America is just a man with a shield - but what a man he is," he says with a smirk. "Biting off more than you can chew is part of the gig anyway. If there wasn't any risk in being a big damn hero, anyone would give it a shot."

Karen Starr has posed:
Power Girl holds her hands up for a moment. "Hey now, all I am is smart enough to understand that there are only so many times you can hit people with skyscrapers like baseball bats before it stops working, and if that's your go-to, you can't be caught without another step of the plan. It's not exactly genius logic here." she offers, before softening a bit. "I don't think he'll self-destruct. Not sure if he's really got that in him, but he'll enjoy himself. You ought to, too. If you got the invite, take it. Can't spend every moment thinking the world's going to end if you're not ready in a split second. Had to learn that the hard way."

She hooks a thumb, then, at War Machine. "Plus, I'm pretty sure if it came down to it, this guy'd slap Tony around and snap him right out of it. Not sure we'd stop the Iron Afro retaliation, but if we keep this talk a secret, I don't think he'd have to suffer that too quickly." Raising a brow, she looks directly to Rhodey now. "Whoa, I'm not sure about this 'just a man' stuff. I think the guy can lift a car, and I -know- he can lift a motorcycle above his head pretty exhibitionally. But, I'll leave you with this kid," she starts rising up off of the grass- apparently finding this a sufficient check-in.

"Lighten up, and don't be too hard on yourself. The load only gets heavier from here, so have as much of a time as you can to stop it from crushing you."

Robbie Reyes has posed:
Robbie looks at Rhodes. "Well, thanks, thats appreciated. Not gonna doubt Captain America, that guy's his own breed of person. Besides, if I was scared of the risk, I wouldn't be here." he then looks on over to Power Girl. "Nice brag, by the way." he speaks of her skyscraper comment. But, she's called Power Girl for a reason, right?

Anway, he shrugs. "Not sure I'll go. Unlike other people, can't really risk losing control. Maybe I'll stop by for a brief second, but thats an 'at the most' scenario." he then narrows his eyes at Power Girl. "And my name's Robbie, not kid." he then smirks, before he turns on his car's engine, and that thing could wake a neighborhood with the amount of horsepower that thing has.

Probably won't outrun a Kryptonian, but hey, car is more fun.

"Trust me, I know. Anyway, sounds like you have places to be PG. See you around."

James Rhodes has posed:
James Rhodes nods to Power Girl, "Sure, Cap's a bit more than normal, but compared to something like my armor, which could let me lift a moving train and wield it like a whip, and he seems pretty ordinary. Except, of course, that he's not. I'd pick Captain America in a fight against just about anybody, regardless of their powers. At the very least, if I fight with him, I know I'll be on the right side," he says.

"Yeah, I've got things to attend to as well. I'll leave you to your bike. But she's right, you're part of the team so, if you need us, use the team channel. If we can be there, we will." he says. "Maybe we'll get a chance to get a beer or something sometime..."
