Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Gotham City. Fog rolled over the city like a blanket tonight, casting every piece of the city in half-shadow. As usual, it was a pretty busy night for the under-staffed, oft-corrupt and functionally alcoholic Gotham PD. Drawing lots, they had let the Police Academy-considering Sam Guthrie do a ride-along (unofficial) through one of the safer districts, Ryker Heights, driving through down town and the highly moneyed district, the cops pointing out a couple of places, and talking a little bit about how dangerous it was to be an officer in the era of superpowered crime busters.

"And a few weeks back, my Pammie was out for a jog and she got turned into a dinosaur! A *DINOSAUR* man. She said none of those Bat Man Men showed up, but a girl in a gray jacket was able to ease the pain. Weirdest thing."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie hmms and says "Had heard a bit about people turning into dinos and gorillas recently. I did not know how real or how far it was, but it did sound wild." He knows many of the cops would put the scare in new kids, so he is trying to be respectful, and listening to her.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"One hundred percent real, kid." The Old Timer states gruffly.

"Station One One Four Niner." crackles the radio.

The old timer gives a huff, and picks up. "One one four niner, go 'head Station."

"We have a report of unrest, shots fired and a fist fight in a homeless camp under the 78th Street Underpass."

the two look at one another, and give a sigh "Ten-four, we'll take a look. Twenty-one-oh-nine." they reply, and they make a turn.

"We're heading towards the Narrows. You stay in the car, we'll take a look at the camp."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods to the officer one of the things about being on a ride along, he is in the back seat, so unless they are letting him out (or he wants to use his powers) staying in the back seat is what he will have to do. "Shots fired and a fist fight, is that two different codes?" He will ask

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Two different codes officially, but really, who's gonna remember all eight hundred codes? 'We gotta twelve-six-seven-seven with a double five ninety for and five ninety five with half a ten-fiddyfour and sprinkle of a ten-thirtyseven." the old timer gives a laugh. "It's easier to just say what it is here, kid. As long as you use the right codes in your report at the end of the night. You know we have a code for 'gaggle of geese on Joker gas assaulting zoo animals'?" he asks -- and as they pull up to the underpass, where there's a small shanty town and tent city, and they give one drone of their siren and flash their lights -- when something hits the side of the car hard enough to rock it!

"What the Heeeell--" the younger officer says, slamming her hat on and the two get out of the car.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will start to say something but turns looking to see what has happened. Others might freak out, but Sam has experience that most of the ride alongs would not. He will move to his back on the seat, scanning but ready to kick his way out if need be.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
That's when a gray shadow pops up in the mist, stretching out one arm, its back to Sam a moment before something -- or someone -- comes rushing out of the fog at them. There's a brace, and a dark face with a gray domino looks into the back of the police car, and then charges forward, slipping down, beneath the charging figure -- its hulking form pausing in confusion as the smaller figure charges it -- and then -- WHAM!

Right back! Whacking against the police car, hard enough to dent the door -- it'd open easy enough with a little push now.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie frowns and will look around. He is not used to Gotham, so he will kick the door to the back open, as he climbs out quickly. He has not been into Gorham before but he has heard much of it. He moves to the side a bit trying to get an idea of whats going on. He moves around to the back of the car and does a mino blast punch to spring the trunk, and look inside hoping to find a riot mask or something that might hide his face.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
BOING! Trunk pops open. There's some riot gear (AND GUNS) back there in the trunk, including a gas mask.

The fog's thicker here. The lights are flashing casting everything in grays, blues and reds -- but there is a momentary groan from the front of the car.

And the gray-clad figure stands, shakily, attempting to shake off the blue they just took on as a massive, angry, hulking brute of a male siddles up.

"Har. So you think you can compete with THE CRUSH!" he laughs, spreading his arms wide. "Well, little girl, ain't no Batman around to save you!"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie grabs one of the masks putting it on, as he does he does a micro blast, not keeping the blast going just using it to put him as full run speed, as he comes at the guy with a clothes line from hell. or at least Kentucky. He counts on the added momentum from the blast jump, and the guy not seeing it coming to try to help hide he is using powers and who he is.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Ka-THUNK! Sam hits the guy, and there's a horribly awkward sound of his arm sinking into flesh and wobbing, greasy, flab. He stumbles backwards, giving a shake of his head to clear the tars out as he gasps for breath, and turns his gaze on Sam.

"You wanna piece of me there, maskboy? Hidin' yo ugly face 'neath there?" he snarls as he draws back up, and just like that, the gray-clad girl is at Sam's side again, and though she looks winded (after hitting the police car hard enough to dent it, twice!) she looks ready to go.

And Sam might recognize the voice when she says: "Man, I hate bullies. And pickin' on homleless people for cash? What's *wrong* with you?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie 's stance will move to a bit of a boxer brawler stance, as he asks "How many we dealing with to the girl in grey." He will step forward making a jab at the other man;s face, faking an opening ready to block and hopefully giving the girl an opening.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Just the one." the Beacon replies, "He hits like a frieght train." she adds in a dour voice, "Pretty sure he broke my ribs again."

The face absorbs the blow pretty handily, his head snapping back as he snarls and tries to reach out to just grab Sam.

The girl, on the other hand, seems to eminate a bit of light, then dodges in on the quick and brings a stick up, and jabs it against the big guy's knee to try and hobble him!

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie is grabbed as he was expecting more of a punch than a grapple. He brings his hands around to bring them down hard clapping against the big man's ears. Trying to make him release his grapple quickly "Ok, then we take him down quick and hard." He does pause for a brief moment as he scans for the cops.
