Date of Scene: 29 May 2020

Synopsis: Wanda, Pietro, and Lorna discuss the kidnappings at Xavier's and try to have a family dinner.
Cast of Characters: Lorna Dane, Wanda Maximoff, Pietro Maximoff

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna hadn't seen Wanda for a while, a long while actually.. And she had promised Fabian to talk to her older sister about possible ways to encourage plants to grow on Genosha.. But also? She just missed her family. At a time when mutants were disappearing and there was no clear cut reason why or for who was taken? She wanted to check in on Pietro and Wanda both.

So she'd texted ahead, and made her way to the Avenger's Mansion for a visit. Rare as it was for her to do so.. she still remembered her way around the place enough to find Wanda's room. She knocked once on the door, waiting for permission to enter before she did so. The youngest of the trio, she certainly felt it whenever she visited the place.

The green haired young woman wore a pair of simple jeans, and a T-shirt. Her hair left to hang loosely around her shoulders. "Hey.."

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
The door opens in short order. Wanda's there, wearing a pair of black shorts and a purple long-sleeve top. "Lorna," Wanda says warmly, moving to embrace her sister if allowed in a hug that lasts just long enough to express more than the simple greeting sort of hug would.

After, she motions Lorna inside. It won't take more than a step into the room before the aroma of something appetizing will be picked up. There's a crockpot sitting out over on the kitchen island in a prominent way that makes it a good bet to be the source of the smells.

"Come in, come in," Wanda says. Get you a glass of wine or water or juice or something?" she offers. The room isn't messy, but has a little clutter here and there. Wanda's guitar is laying out on the bed as if it has seen recent use.

Pietro Maximoff has posed:
Pietro just so happens to be in the room as well. Not because he makes it a habit of hanging out there...not when Barton is usually around. But, today was different. He knew that Lorna was coming. So, he came over just a little bit before Lorna's arrival. He stands up from leaning against the wall, dressed in a pair of jeans and a silver hoodie. There is a smile, an honest-to-God smile, upon his face...probably due to the fact that both sisters are present. Or...at least one.

After detaching from the wall, Pietro wanders over, presenting himself for the hug that is bound to happen. No, he doesn't *offer* to hug...but he knows one is coming and is not going to object. "Heya Lorna."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna smiled as Wanda opened the door, and immediately hugged her. She allowed it, as it was her big sister in the end, and the only other person about was Pietro. In fact, she returned it, closing her eyes and exhaling a long, drawn sigh as she did so. Then Wanda was with drawing going on about food and drinks and she blinked a few times.

"Geeze, so what you're saying is that I need to come over here for dinner more often." She joked, and her attention shifted toward Pietro. She flashed a smile his way, and tentatively made to give him a hug. "Heya Pietro." She offered back. And stepped away after a beat to go find a place to sit that wasn't going to get in Wanda's way in the kitchen.

"Water is fine."

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
The room is a big open affair. Wanda had the walls removed, everything but the closet and the bathroom, opened up into one big space, so it's easy to find a place on the couch or chairs over by the fireplace and still be able to talk to anyone in the room.

Wanda shuts the door after Lorna's inside. When Pietro is done hugging their younger sister, he gets a quick side hug from Wanda unless he decides to sidestep it. "Clint and I ate Cajun the other day. Out at Coney Island. And he got the idea from the sausage to do a crockpot. And he's right, the smells... oh goodness. I may have to see if I can't hurry it along a little," she says, wiggling her fingers in that Scarlet Witchy way of hers.

Wanda gets water, and Pietro's favorite drink as well, and brings them over. "We should have family dinners," Wanda says thoughtfully. "Today purely social?" she asks as she gives her sister her glass.

Pietro Maximoff has posed:
There is no sidestepping. Both hugs are accepted with as much grace as Pietro has. As Wanda comments about the smells, Pietro casts a smirk back towards his sister. "The smells. Yes...the whole second floor ends up smelling like sausage. Not that I mind, but it is not a pleasant sight to see an Asgardian hungry."

Slight dig to Thor aside, Pietro accepts the glass from Wanda. It is almost frightening how in tune the two siblings are, since Wanda just happens to have the drink ready. Without so much as a peep from the older brother. "Family dinners. That sounds rather novel."

Lorna Dane has posed:
A glance was cast toward the crockpot in question, and then back to her sister as she measured Wanda's contentment in dating Clint--it seemed to be going good. Which.. was surprisingly good news in a world that seemed constantly pitched to throw her off. She smiled and accepted the glass of water with both hands. "Thanks." She murmured, and leaned back in her chair.

"It does smell good." She conceded, and at her older sister's question a slight grimace pulled at her lips.

"A little of both if I'm being honest. I wanted to see you both.. but mostly because my paranoia is up. Someone is snatching mutants and the only connection is that they've visited Xavier's in the past few months." She paused, "So call it partly a wellness check too." She mused, and as Pietro spoke of Family dinners being novel she snickered softly.

"Yeah that thing that most people dread and groan over because they can't stand their family and what not."

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda gets a small glass of wine for herself. She settles into one of the comfortable chairs, feet crossed at the ankle. "There was a time," Wanda says in her soft Eastern European accent, "that just 'dinner' was a novel enough thing for us," she says, eyes going over to Pietro at the shared memories that included more than a few nights going hungry. "These will be far better," she says.

The mention of the disappearances brings faint worry lines to Wanda's face, wrinkling alongside her eyes. "We have been well. Pietro had a run in with the Juggernaut, and pursuing the why of it has occupied me for awhile. Though not related to this. An attempted theft," Wanda tells Lorna.

She takes a sip of her wine and then asks, "How do you know they've been to Xavier's?"

Pietro Maximoff has posed:
"Oh right. That Juggernaut thing. You know, he really is as enthralled with himself as you would expect?" Pietro rolls his eyes in rememberance. "There were a group of thieves there. Somehow, they were able to give themselves powers temporarily. But, really, the Juggernaut. Took hits from Thor and She-Hulk without so much as a budge. No way I was going to try to come to blows with that.

The mention of mutants disappearing does grab Pietro's attention. "Wait...there were abductions? Do you know who were taken?" Not that he would care one way or another...except for the fact that they are mutants...and that Pietro has an thing about mutants being taken. "I didn't know about that. Not that we really need mutant abductions happening now." He falls silent, sitting down unceremoniously to contemplate.

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna exhaled a breath as she glanced between the twins as Wanda spoke of their past in such a way, her lips pursed together briefly. It was a past that she still barely understood or knew about.. and she wasn't about to press it either. "If you want family dinners we can do them Wanda.." She murmured, "Whatever kind of food you want too." She added. A glance as followed toward her brother though at the mention of their fighting the Juggernaut.

"Ugh.. I don't envy that fight. He's on a list of people I want to keep my distance from. Literally." She grumbled that last part, and in regards to mutants going missing she sipped at her drink and nodded once.

"Lets see, if I can remember them.. Uhm.. Gabby, Roberto, Julian, Hank... and.." She paused, and glanced to Pietro briefly.

"Emma Frost. They're not all visible mutants. They're not all living at the Mansion. And not all of them are out as mutants. So it's kind of a big deal. The fact that they'd visited the Mansion for any length of time is the only connection we could come up with. Scott has had me on comm duty for the past few days."

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda mutters about the fight with Juggernaut. "I wish I'd been there to help. I've enlisted the aid of Stephen Strange, we're going to analyze what little remains of that liquid they drank to become enhanced," she tells Pietro.

The information that Lorna soon imparts definitely takes centerstage though. Wanda's mouth drops open at first as she listens. "Henry was taken too," she says, all of the names troubling but her friendship with the sometime Avenger making him stand out to her more. "Are there others, not associated with the school going missing as well? Or does it seem to be targeting their directly?" Wanda asks, leaning forward a little in her seat.

Pietro Maximoff has posed:
The name of Hank McCoy does indeed raise an eyebrow on Pietro. He didn't have any issues with him either, which says a lot for Pietro in the first place. Though...those names. They all sound familiar to him in one way or another. "Gabby was that girl that hugged me when I visited you during their pizza night, wasn't she?" That question was to Lorna, as Pietro considers more. "The rest of the names you mentioned....are Hellfire Club members...with the exception of Henry. But he was also at the club for the Genosha benefit." Seems he is trying to tie out a pattern

And failing miserably at it. "Still....I did not know about Frost immediately. If she has been quiet, then how would someone know about her? In any case, it is a very strange situation." Little emotion involved...but Pietro is thinking. That in itself is something.

"I would imagine the school is doing something? It isn't like Xavier to sit back and watch his children get snapped up without doing something."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna shook her head at Wanda's question. "That's the thing, we haven't seen or heard any other uptiks in mutants vanishing in Mutant Town--beyond the usual, and no one from Genosha is missing. We've had teams going out and investigating the sites where people were last scene. So far we have evidence of teleportation, and a powered group of people hitting them. Someone with green hair--not me, obviously.. and that's about it.." At Pietro's question she nodded, her lips pursing together.

"Yeah.. that was Gabby. I haven't checked the reports, there might be something else out there since this morning, but if there is.. it hasn't been massive.." She glanced down at her hands.

"I was worried and I just.. I wanted to make sure you both were okay. And also see if you'd heard anything else."

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda leans back in her chair then, drawing her bare feet up to rest on the edge of the edge of her seat as she loses herself to her thoughts, gaze drifting off to the side. "So teleporting out, possibly in, to abduct then," she says quietly. Wanda frowns, it not having been too long ago she failed to stop MODOK from teleporting out with a captive Iron Man. "Difficult to trace such things," she says quietly.

Wanda looks back over. "Yes, we're well," she says, looking to Pietro, though whether to reassure Lorna or herself one can guess at. "I imagine if someone knew what the school is and was brazen enough to target it, they might be willing with us as well," she says. "Well be extra on guard. Any other similarities? Anything that might indicate how they knew when and where to go after them?"

Pietro Maximoff has posed:
A short nod, as Lorna confirms Pietro's guess. There isn't much else in the way of speaking for Pietro along the lines of the current topic, but a lot of consideration. Which, knowing how Pietro is wired, is quite a lot of reflection from the white-haired male in the room. He frowns, then turns to Wanda. "You don't think...that maybe Hank had his Avengers ID with him?"

The thought is explained to Lorna, even before Wanda would respond. "The idea is that the Avengers' ID has a tracking device within it. Stark is a paranoid bastard, but never let it be said that he is an idiot. The man has some brilliant ideas. Among them being the tracking in the identification cards. Though, if all of then were taken...then I would imagine precautions would have been in place to prevent people from interrupting. Including disabling ID trackers."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna shrugged feeling particularly helpless when it came to finding their lost friends. She sipped at her water and sighed. "I dunno, we haven't seen anything other in connection. We have a mix of powers, ability, visible mutation... it's hard to say. I can't think of any connection than the ties to the school. And I wanted to let you both know, so you can take precautions." She murmured, and grimaced as she glanced toward Pietro.

"I dunno, whoever took them has been able to block our telepathic scans.. everything. None of them were able to get in a call on our comms either." Her gaze settled on her glass. "I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news that way." She shook her head, and took another sip of her water.

"We're all on the buddy system more or less. I honestly should've taken someone here.. but Clarice can portal so I thought that was a good enough means to travel for me to get here... And if someone attacked here.. well, that's a different issue all together."

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda looks lost in her thoughts, though glancing over now and then to what is being said, still keeping track of the conversation. When Pietro mentions Hank's ID card she nods. "It's an idea to check on," she agrees.

Wanda raises her voice just slightly, "JARVIS? Could you pull up the information on Henry McCoy's ID card? He has gone missing since..." Wanda looks to Lorna. "How long ago was it?"

After whatever response, Wanda will continue for Jarvis, "If you find anything unusual can you prepare a copy for us?"

The disembodied voice of the Stark AI responds, "Of course Wanda."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna sighed as she glanced over to Wanda, her eyebrows furrowing slightly. "Five days I think? It's been a while before we noticed all of the missing were in fact missing and not just a dead cell phone.." She looked down at her water glass and grimaced. It was time that their friends didn't have. Missing persons cases rarely ended well.

She glanced back to her older sister, "I wish I had better news to bring over? I mean hell.. seems like I never have good news." She drawled, and eyed her water, partly wishing she'da asked her sister for a glass of wine.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda gives a worried nod. "Yes, it can take awhile to realize it," she says. "And we appreciate you checking in on us. We hadn't realized this was going on. So... not that we're ever particularly incautious I'd think, but, if something unusual goes on at least now we have extra reason to be wary and know what to possibly expect."

Wanda gets up and goes over to the crockpot. "It's close, just needs a little..." she says, and she slowly spins a little chaos magic into the mixture, cooking it through a little faster. After about a minute, she stops and then gets out some bowls. "Here we go," she says, filling the bowls and bringing them over. For a first, impromptu family dinner.

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna flashed her big sister a smile, and she made to get up and follow Wanda toward the crockpot.. But realized her sister was trying to play hostess.. she sat back down as Wanda brought over a bowl of food. "I really wish I had powers quite so versatile..." She murmured and sat up to accept the food.

"Thank you." She paused, and glancing up at Wanda arched a brow. "There might actually be something you can do for me on Genosha though...?" She took a bite of the steaming hot food, and immediately reached for her water to cool it off. "Fabian told me that people wanted to start farming for fresh food, but we've got an issue that the land best for it is too far beyond our patrols to do so safely.. could I tempt you to come I dunno.. encourage the dirt to be better elsewhere?"

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda settles into her seat with her bowl. "Hmm. We can probably work something out," she says with a nod. "Though... for anything permanent... that sort of magic always comes with a price. We might want to relocate some soil as a better long-term answer," she suggests.

She takes a bite, pausing to savor it and says, "We can travel over there and take a look. Maybe enlist the aid of a friend or two if moving it proves the best option," she says. "But let's relax for the evening, shall we? We can also see if there is more we can do to help the missing students and staff later tonight when JARVIS has his answers," she suggests.
