Cast of Characters: Xiomara Rojas, Lobo

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
A lovely early evening as the summer was coming to an end, and fall was just around the corner. The air was still warm enough for summer attire in the day time, with a light jacket at night for strolling the city.

Crush however, was not doing summer things. She had taken over one of the tables on the roof with her note books and lap top, along with college text books, to power through three courses in a months time. There may be a couple of teachers at Happy Harbor College who got that she learned fast, but there were still a few who couldn't believe she could absorb the information in the books and lectures so quickly. That just meant a few extra tests, and she was up for it. The sooner she pounded out the courses, the sooner she could work full time... some where.

Lobo has posed:
The Tower is far enough from the city that the noise and bustle is kept down to a very low roar. So a part of that roar getting louder is somewhat noticeable if you're not distracted by, say, schoolwork. Soon however it's gotten loud enough to pull attention away from just about anything one could be doing on the roof by themselves. Crush would also notice that the light on her pages is getting increasingly tinted with orange light from above.

Should she look up, there's a large fireball dropping directly towards the roof of the tower. Unlike your average, everyday fireball, it appears to be slowing down, and as it does, the fiery glow dims and parts to reveal just the best gift any kid could ask.

    Dear old Dad.

Coming to a hover about ten feet over the roof, he kicks the clutch (or at least where the clutch would be on a motorcycle) and hits a button on the control panel, then swings his leg over the hog so that he can fall to the roof, landing with a solid thud.

"Hey there girl, still alive I see. You still doing the dyke thing?"

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
The noise is the first indication that has Crush looking up into the yellow fire ball. She doesn't need much imagination to know who it was, the Space Hog has a distinctive sound, and the the fire was part of the appearance.

Before the bike is even hovering, she has closed the books and lap top, so that when Lobo lands on the roof with a thud, she is sitting there with her arms folded across her chest.

His arrival isn't expect, but unlike the past where she would have already been releasing Obelus to help kick his ass, there was a truce in place. Lobo had expressed that he no longer had a desire to kill her, oh goody, her dad didn't want her dead.

His question causes one brow to lift to her hair line, "Yeah, you still doin the deadbeat thing?" she countered with a snort, and roll of her eyes. "Men suck," she adds, then oddly gestures toward him. "Case in point."

Lobo has posed:
"Now girl, you can't compare the pale copies of manhood you have on this world to the Main Man. All of them look bad compared to me. Not that that's anything new, I stand out most everywhere I go. But good, maybe you can give me an intro to some of the babes around here who don't play for your team, since I assume you know who does and doesn't." He lowers his voice to what he thinks is subtle, but most would call 'loud' to say "Fingers crossed that hot Tamaranean is a doesn't."

He pulls one of his cigars from a pocket and lights up, sucking in and then breathing out a not entirely awful smelling cloud of smoke. "And remind me to swing by Cuba before I leave, I might as well grab all the cigars I can while there's still time."

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
A part of her was almost glad to see him, the other part was not. "Oh come on," Crush bursts out. "I'm not givin intros to girls for you. Most know your rep Lobo, they ain't gonna look twice no matter how uh..." she gestures at him again. "... good looking?"

Right, enough of that disgusting subject and on to the one that was more important, "You ain't gonna stick around an try to help? Just gonna let that fucker eat Earth? Seriously, just hover near by an watch the show or somethin, smoking a cigar, actin like this place means nothin?"

Lobo has posed:
"Hell no, that's not why I'm here. I just thought you might want to take me up on the bounty hunting thing rather than staying here and getting eaten with the rest of the planet." Another puff, then "I mean, damn girl, this place sure can pick it's enemies. You've managed to find the one thing in the universe that even The 'Bo can't stop. So I say, get off the doomed rock, watch the show from a safe distance, then find a new home."

"I probably got room for one or two more if you want to save a couple of your more babe-alicious teammates. It'll be a little cramped, but I bet we can manage. We could do like a... whaddayoucallit... Ah! Charlie's Angels kind of thing. Just with more sex and death involved. An not between you and me, that'd just be kinda messed up, even for me. Grab a girlfriend for you, another for me, and we can have some fun and get rich."

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
There was not a single part of Crush that was shocked to hear Lobo say he was bailing, the rest however made her eyes widen and her jaw drop. She wasn't a prude by any stretch of the imagination, but she also wasn't a 'get your father laid' sex service. That he'd even ask was a testament to just how the dude thought, she wasn't really his daughter, she was more of a pal, right? Get him a girl, hang out, have a few beers, just one of the guys, since she played for the other team.

"Ew, no," she stated first with a shudder. "I'm not arranging an off planet hook for ya." Another shudder was required to wash that image from her brain.

"I'm not leavin. Earth didn't choose this enemy, it choose us, an everyone's doin their part to find a way to stop the bastard. Even went an talked ta the Oa bastards." She paused there. He'd know who they were, and what they were like. "Got one of em to talk, but the rest got threatened if they so much as tried to interfer with us stoppin Galactus. I'll tear Oa apart if I have to, but I'm helping save earth, an you should to."

She finally stood up, stretching a little. She wasn't as tall as him, but she was still impressive, "An before you say no again, hear me out. This planet's my home, an if ya help save it, I'll owe you a favor."

Lobo has posed:
He thinks about it for a minute, shifting the cigar from one corner of his mouth to the other. "You do realize that nobody's even managed to slow the fucker down, much less stop him, right? Only planet's he spared are ones where he found someone who interests him and gives them the chance to save their world by serving him. And while I'm probably interesting enough to catch his attention, I ain't givin up the rest my life for a planet I don't give two shits about."

He thinks for a minute, then pulls out some kind of device that looks kind of like a cell phone which he taps on for a moment. "On the other hand, Holy Hell, this guy's got so many bounties on him it's making my 'puter freak out. And I have always liked the concept of 'I owe ya one.' I'll tell ya the truth though, if it all goes tits up, I'm draggin you away before ya get the chance to die for this little ball of dirt. You can find a new home, people move all the time, right?"

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
Crush maintains the 'tough kid' face and body language, but inside there was a moment of bouncing around with joy. It may not have been for the sake of the planet itself, instead for a bounty that no one could dream of collecting, but he'd agreed to help out. That's not a small achievement on the part of a daughter who, until recently, hated him.

"If it all goes tits up," she repeats, hmming softly. She hadn't really thought of failure as an option, but it was. This particular enemy had destroyed countless worlds, ended billions of lives, and earth wasn't all that advanced... it could fail.

"Fine," she finally agrees with a nod. "If it fails and there's no saving earth, I'll go, an ya kin throw me at Xander."

Lobo has posed:
"Deal then! I'll do what I can to help save the planet, but if it goes sideways, you leave with me. You better introduce me to the people we'll be workin with, some people take it wrong when I just walk in on their meetings and shit. You'd think people would realize that me takin an interest in what they're doin can only make it better, but a buncha people walk around with sticks up their ass all the time."

He reaches into an inside pocket and pulls out an actual business card that he hands to her. It reads "Lobo - Bounty Hunter, the Main Man and Biggest Bastiche in the Universe." Under the text is what would correspond to a phone number on Earth. On the other side it reads "If you can read this I didn't hit ya hard enough."

He snaps his fingers and the Hog descends to his level and he climbs on. "I'm still gonna go get my hands on a buncha Cubans just in case. And I'll find my own place to stay, I think all your friends would be pains in my ass about smokin in your pristine little tower. Get in touch when you got something to talk to me about. Or if the Tamaranean needs consoling about her planet. I bet I can get it right outta her mind. Haw! Catch ya later!"

He revs the engine, then tears off in the general direction of Cuba.

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
"Don't worry, I'll let people know you're there to help," Crush states, still surprised she convinced him to help.

Accepting the card, she reads it over, memorizes the number, rolls her eyes at all the extra title, then laughs loudly at the message on the back. "Damn, an I thought that was my line."

As the hog descends, she smirks a little. "I ain't real keen on livin here either, lookin for a place closer to where I work an such. Just remember, dead landlords don't look good on applications for ya next apartment, so be good."

Watching him shoot off toward Cuba she shakes her head a little. "How the hell did I pull that off?" Shrugging, she returns to her books.
