A Gotham Graduation Party
Date of Scene: 20 June 2020
Location: Widowstone Creek Apartments
Synopsis: Friends and family gather for Stephanie's graduation party. No one is stabbed nor drowned. This was deemed a great success.
Cast of Characters: Stephanie Brown, Tim Drake, Roberto da Costa, Colleen Wing, Dick Grayson, Rose Wilson, Damian Wayne, Carrie Kelley, Henry McCoy, Barbara Gordon

Stephanie Brown has posed:
The invitations had gone out, and like most of these things, after the first round there were more rounds of invitations to those that Stephanie and her mother, Crystal, had realized might have been missed the first time. Crystal is a nurse and invited quite a few of her friends from work and elsewhere, this being her only child's graduation party, a rare chance for her to show off in that regard.

Stephanie? She just wanted to have fun. So the party is set up as a beach party pretty much. The apartment complex has a swimming pool and next to it a sand volleyball court that are reserved for the party. A DJ is playing music and there's a gigantic hog that's being roasted on a spit. There are all sorts of side dishes, including vegetable skewers roasted on the grill for vegetarian options.

Stephanie is wearing a pair of shorts over a bathing suit, and has been greeting people as they arrive. The place is already starting to hop as the music is playing, and there's a keg that's been tapped though Crystal keeps an eye out to make sure that's for the adults only. Those under age get soda or punch or juice.

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim Drake, occasionally known as Tim Drake Wayne, one of many of Bruce Wayne's adopted sons (don't ask why a billionaire playboy philanthropist keeps adopting teenagers), and a good friend of Stephanie Brown has arrived to her party, with a lovely if not a bit... noticeable... young woman in tow. Tim's black hair is a bit mussed, his ice-blue eyes hidden behind a pair of overly expensive sunglasses he'll likely lose before the end of the evening. He's in a pair of navy blue swim trunks with a design of bomb pops all over them, and a white muscle tank that proclaims 'I'm Here for the Tacos' in bright royal blue. He may be disappointed-- there are not tacos. Well, he's a 19 year old young man, so, really, there's food which means he won't be THAT disappointed. Under the muscle tank he's not particularly very built, though he is fairly defined more than you'd expect from someone who spends most of his days playing video games. Allegedly.

"Hey Steph!" he greets her as he arrives. "This is my friend Rose. Rose, this is Steph. We go way back."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto and his mother Nina da Costa are already there, Nina standing next to and talking with Crystal (as well as keeping a close eye on Roberto and the booze), while Roberto stands near Steph, dressed in a Magnum PI style Hawaiian shirt and a pair of cargo shorts.

His memories haven't fully returned but piece by piece with the help of the teachers at Xavier's he's got enough back to know who he is and why he wants to be there. Seeing Tim and his date arrive, Roberto steps over with a pair of cokes handing one to Steph before saying to Tim and Rose, "Hey, welcome to the party, I'm Roberto."

Colleen Wing has posed:
It was a friend of a friend thing. A student of Colleen's had been talking about a graduation party she was going to attend and had dropped the hint that she should join her. It just so happened that her evening was open, because Colleen had a social-life that usually consisted of ordering take-out and a marathon of Hallmark Channel movies. So when a chance to go do something with real people presetned itself, she jumped at it, trying he rbest to not seem /too/ eager.

Entering with her student, Colleen introduces herself...seeing as the student who invited her has already waved to Stephanie and bounced off to other party attendees who are actually her friends. The Sensei points to the departing student. "Hello. Colleen Wing. I came with...Avery. Apparently you know her? Oh please say you know her or this is going to be even more awkward." She is holding a small wrapped package with a card on top. "Just something for you. Congratulations."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie's mother was very happy to meet Nina da Costa, after Roberto had accomplished a rare feat and made a good impression on her. The two have been striking up a conversation for awhile now, Crystal introducing Nina to nurses, orderlies and doctors from work who have been trickling in.

Stephanie eyes the two mothers getting along and whispers to Roberto in a laughing tone, "Why do I have this impending sense of doom?" She takes the drink with a grateful smile and then turns as Tim and Rose approach. "Great you could make it. Rose, really nice to meet you. Yes this is Roberto," she says, repeating the introduction. "I was worried we'd get pouring rain today but it looks like it's going to be a sunny day. Mostly anyway."

Avery and Collen come over, and Stephanie grins and hugs Avery. "Colleen? Nice to meet you," Stephanie says. "So you teach her martial arts classes? She was telling me about them," Stephanie says of Avery that she knows from gymnastics meets over the years against Avery's New York school.

Dick Grayson has posed:
The eldest of the Wayne spawnlings is not far behind Tim. Dick had gotten the memo of the pool party and showed up in dark blue boardshorts and a light gray Gotham University t-shirt. In one hand is an envelope, which is deposited in the appropriate basket, and getting a drink for himself, taking the time to see who all was here.

Dick then approaches the little knot around the recent graduate and says with a grin, "Hey! Congratulations, Steph!" Dick nods to the otehrs as well, "Tim, Berto." Rose and Colleen each get a collective wave, "Don't believe we've met. My name's Dick."

Rose Wilson has posed:
Did Tim tell her before hand that this was a pool party? Does Rose even KNOW what a pool party IS? Stay tuned, folks, one day....very soon. Those questions are going to be answered.

With Tim is, indeed, a very distinctive looking young lady. White hair is twisted back into a braid, and she's sporting an eye patch with the casualness of someone that didn't wear it thinking this was a kid's costume party and she was a pirate, but then she's sporting jeans and a plain t-shirt that is at odds with the beach theme. "Hey." This is offered when she's introduced to Stephanie and anyone else within range of that very simple hey. Including waving sorts.

Painfully low-key, this one.

Colleen Wing has posed:
"Yes. I own and run the Chikara Dojo down in CHinatown. It's...well just go to the center of CHinatown and keep walking until things get sketchy. I am on the corner." There is a small smile given and she then adds, not wanting ot take up much of the hosts time right now. "Ah, so that is how you know her. Yes, Avery is quite the gymnast. Now she is adding some self-defense training ot her gymnastic skill." Colleen then steps aside and offers a wave of greeting to the other guests, making her way in her red converse sneakers, jeans and Hello Kitty t-shirt to a side table with some food on it to fine something small to eat.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian had arrived with Carrie Kelley, the youngest of the Wayne boys, Damian was the 'bio child' as one of his brothers had so eloquently put it.

Alfred had purchased a bathing suit that had the boy quite miffed. The trunks had been a red shade and emblazoned with the Superman crest all over. The only pair that was in his size on such short notice. In contrast, he also wore a Hawaiian shirt in blue and white, at least coordinating with the begrudgingly kid-like swimwear.

No doubt, he was just the most happiest passenger in Carrie's car. "If anyone says one word, I will poison their drink." He had said.

As he walked in, he placed a set of sunglasses on his face, looking around, and keeping a slight frown on. "Oh, joy. Grayson and Drake are here." He comments, relinquishing himself to say hello to Stephanie.

Tim Drake has posed:
"Ah ha, ah, yep. Rose is quite the talker. Want something to drink? Let's go get a drink," Tim stammers a bit as he gives Steph a sheepish grin. He nods to Roberto. "Steph's boyfriend, yeah? Nice. I mean, good call, Steph." He grins. "Nice to meet you finally. There are some that call me.... Tim?" He waggles his brows at his own joke, which likely falls flat. Introductions aside, he steers himself and Rose over towards the drink table, chucking a small envelope from the pocket of his trunks into the basket as he does. "Uh... punch?" he asks Rose. "The drink, not me." He grins a bit.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie Brown's face lights up as Dick Grayson comes over. She goes over to give him, if allowed, a tight, short hug. "Really glad you made it," she tells Dick. She motions to Rose and says, "This is Tim's friend Rose. And this Colleen, she teaches... where'd Avery go? Well she teaches martial arts to a friend of mine up in New York," Stephanie explains to Dick.

She turns to Roberto, "Roberto, this is Dick. I may have mentioned to him you have a supermodel sister as encouragement for him to show up. Though I didn't promise she'd be here, nor any dates, should he say otherwise," Stephanie says, blue eyes flashing warmly at Dick as if he'd suggest that.

The blond graduate spots Damian approaching and waves towards him. Though she doesn't say it aloud, her inner voice is offering up prayers that he not stab anyone. Too badly at least. "Hey, glad you made it," she says towards with a hand lifted up to wave Damian's way.

There are some decorations hung up on the fence around the pool, and on the tables with the food. There is a definite color scheme which people might recognize as that of Gotham University. One of the desserts is a cake in those colors that says, "Good Luck At Gotham U!" in frosting across the top.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley had suffered through but done so admirably well all things considered. She'd even managed not to snicker herself at the swim trunks. His remark of poisoning them though earns a little twitch of her lips with a grin. "I'm sure it'll be fine. I've seen plenty of adults wearing t-shirts with that logo on them, too," she points out with a little shake of her head. Ah well.

The Hawaiian theme was followed along a bit herself if only in that she'd opted to wear a floral sarong wrapped around her waist, some sandals, and a bikini. A large tote was slung over one shoulder weighed down no doubt by the change of clothes she'd brought. Her own sunglasses were a purple mirrored pair she'd gotten that had a little mini Kraken adorning the side. Pausing by the gift table she withdraws a colorfully wrapped package from the tote to add to the pile. It was rather irregularily shaped and tied at the top with a bow much like a gift basket might be. Except it wasn't.

"I know it goes without saying, but be nice to her mom," she advises Damian. He was the youngest here. He might get a *little* attention after all. With a broad grin she calls out, "Grats, Steph!"

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"Just a bit," Roberto whispers to Steph, casting a look over at the two mothers talking, before giving Steph's shoulder a squeeze and turning to the new arrivals.

So many new faces, but then most faces were 'new' right now to his ravaged memory. Still Roberto is Roberto, and greets each new guest with a smile, a handshake. Comments flow from his lips as well, a 'Dig the hair' to Rose, politely ignoring the eyepatch, a 'good to see another New Yorker' to Colleen along with a smile and a 'love the shirt I need to get one of those for one of my school friends about Hello Kitty merch.

He smiles at Tim's greeting. "Yep, that's me," he says. "Good to finally meet you Tim," he says, before looking at the rest of the Wayne clan. "And you guys as well, Steph's told me about all of you." Though hopefully not too much!

Rose Wilson has posed:
"You sure?" About punching him. Rose looks like she might just take the punching him portion of the day. But she refrains, and instead offers a smile. Look, Tim. She's smiling!

"Nice meeting you." Rose remembers her manners, even if it is sort of forced out in the way of socially awkward people everywhere. It's the best that she can manage in response to what is undoubtably others being more socially adept then her with the compliments about the hair. She lets her attention drift towards the newer arrivals, measuring them before she nudges Tim with her elbow, her voice lowering, "We're getting something for this, right?"

Colleen Wing has posed:
Colleen turns around with a piece of pineapplein her mouth chewing, tryin got reply to the comment made by Roberto and chewing as fast as she can to do so. "New York represent." SHe taps the front of her shirt with her finger and smiles. "We can talk. I can hook you up. I am part of a Hello Kitty merch club. I get stuff every month. More than willing to pass some on."

She turns and takes another piece of fruit, looking over at the pool and seeming to consider :DO you wanna be the first person?" There is a shrug given and she walks over to the edgeof the pool, kneeling down to untie her shoes and slipping them off, slowly standing to lower her jeans to reveal a yellow suit bottom beneath it. The clothes are set on a side chair and she then proceeds to sit on the edge, lowering her feet into the water and watching the others gathered.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie Brown's face lights up as she sees Carrie Kelley and gets that greeting from her. "Thanks. I kind of wondered that this day would ever come," she admits with a soft laugh. "Did you have another date coming? Was hoping so," Stephanie says with a look that says they need to gossip later. Stephanie catches sight of Damian's swimwear. She doesn't say anything, just gives him a big thumbs up on the choice and a quick smile.

As Roberto and Colleen make that New York connection, Stephanie says, "Just as long as you guys don't pine for black-and-white cookies and dirty water dogs while we have roast pork and cake waiting for you," she says. Stephanie looks to Roberto for a moment, breaking out in a soft smile that he's here. She reaches over to give his hand a little squeeze, knowing meeting so many of her friends at once would be a lot, but especially with him still struggling to recover his own memories of his life.

"So Rose," Stephanie asks, "How did you and Tim meet each other? I haven't gotten to dig any stories out of him yet," she asks.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian had given a nod to Stephanie, there, social graces had been attended to. Time to go back in the shell.

Damian had found a lounge chair to toss his beach towel on, and removed his flip flops, laying back in the chair, and keeping behind those Ray Ban shades of his.

Tim Drake has posed:
"Conner said you could use some social time," Tim throws his best friend directly under that bus, "and I needed a plus one. Also, there's food. So I guess gorging ourselves on roast pig and kebabs." Tim grins at Rose. "Besides, we can spar later if youd like."

He is about to say something else when he notices Damian's swim trunks. He suddenly has a look on his face like Christmas has come early. He pulls his phone out and snaps a picture. Or two. Oh man, who to text with this? His siblings may suspect that teasing will begin shortly.

Dick Grayson has posed:
Dick holds up a finger in response to Steph's comment and laughs, "That is /not/ the reason I came here! But seriously, congrats, and wish you the best at Gotham." He then sees Carrie and Damian and says to Berto, "Looks like you will get to meet more of the family." Not commenting on Damian's shorts, but making a note later, because as the eldest brother, it was his duty and privilege to torment his younger siblings.

When the topic shifts to Tim's date, Dick raises a brow and hides a grin behind the drink, before saying, "Well, glad to meet you, Rose." Another drink, "What are your plans for the summer, then?" He asks the group at large.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley continues to stride over toward Stephanie apparently intending to give her a hug. The hug is forgotten though as she sees Tim's phone come out. Bearing her teeth in a grin she angles her path toward him to reach up and attempt to lock him in a headlock. "I get to ride home in the car with him, don't you dare," she utters in the most sweet, theatening voice ever. She's still all smiles though. As far as the parental units knew she was just being friendly. Yep.

"He may show up, he had to attend to a few matters first. Depending how long they run," she explains to Stephanie with a softened smile. "Hey Dick," she greets the eldest, and then nods to Roberto. "Hey. We only met breifly once before. I'm Carrie." Actually they'd had dinner together once before, but she had been clued in to his current situation thanks to her own potential plus one that wasn't yet here. No sense in making it awkward for the poor guy.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie grins back at Dick. "Not -the- reason but maybe -a- reason," she teases the older man. As she notices the older Wayne wards spotting Damian's shorts, Stephanie crosses her arms so she can move a hand to cover her grin and have it not look unusual.

When Carrie is free, Stephanie meets for that hug, giving her a big one which carries with it her feelings about the redhead. "So glad to have you here," she says. Stephanie lets Carrie go and turns to Roberto. "You guys met at the gala at the one club in New York," she comments. "And Carrie knows Doctor McCoy really well, also," Stephanie tells Roberto, helping fill in those missing memories.

The blond girl turns to look towards Colleen testing out the water. "How is it? I went swimming two days ago and thought it was pretty good," Stephanie says. "There's a water volleyball setup too if people wanted to do that instead of the sand court."

Crystal Brown goes and gets a plate of food and then starts wandering over towards the collection of younger people, inviting Nina da Costa to come with her.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
The squeeze of the hand is returned and Roberto gives Steph a smile. He was glad to meet her friends too, even if at the moment it seemed a bit overwhelming for the usually aggressively social young man.

Colleen is given a grin, "Awesome, will do, I am pretty sure she'll think it's funny," he says, before a look over at Steph. "And of course not, after smelling that pig roasting all day I'm definitely having some."

A nod then is given to Dick, "Seems like," he says. "Must have been interesting growing up," he remarks taking in the family.

Turning towards Carrie at her introduction. "Oh, hey good to meet you, again, sorry for not remembering, I'm dealing with some stuff," Steph's additional information gets a smile from Roberto. "Oh, so you're who Dr. McCoy was talking about, very cool, he's a great guy, really helped us get through-" he pauses before shifting to the first thing he could think of that wasn't torture by a mad scientist. "-our finals," he finishes lamely. "Like I said, great guy."

Rose Wilson has posed:
"Me and Tim?" Rose has to think about that, and then she has to think some more. It's potentially a hard choice to make, what story to tell. A real one, or a fake one.

"He offered me some candy." Wait, what? Rose glances at Tim, then rethinks the very obvious and very bad lie. "I mean, to sell me some." Pause. "For some kind of...school. Thing." But then there's someone trying to put Tim in a headlock, and this is potentially one reason why Rose needs socializing skills, because her first reaction to this kind of thing is violence. She starts to move towards Carrie, hands curling up into fists, ready to swoop in and rescue poor Tim from such indiginities as noogies.

Colleen Wing has posed:
Colleen had been staring at the water, letting her legs swing back and forth in the water. This most certainly was something she did nothave a lot of access to..like ever. The question from Stephanie breaks her from her apparent trance and she turns her head with a pleasant smile. "It is lovely. It is not often that I have the chance to swim in an actual pool. I mean I have a bathtub, but it's not the same."

She then raises her shirt over hear head and tosses it aside, revealing the other half of the yellow bikini, slding from the edge of the pool into the shallow end. "I very well may spend my entire time here in the water."

Tim Drake has posed:
Headlocked! But not until after he's already gotten two GREAT shots. "Mmpphh dammit Carrie," Tim lightly struggles. Lightly because trying NOT to show that they are all highly trained fighters... "I'm just sending it to 'Dad'. You know he would //love// pictures of his kids enjoying the summer sun." He sees Rose's legs underneath the headlock moving swiftly in, and he's quick to say, "I'm all right, really-- sibling rivalry and all!" He does take THAT chance to break the headlock gently and quickly. Do not need Rose punting Carrie into the pool and drowning her, no matter how much some of the guys might enjoy a catfight like that. Tim would not, because he'd never hear then end of it from either of them.

Still, free of Carrie's grasp-- Text. Bruce Wayne. 'Look at this little traitor.' Both shots. Ahahahaha. Boss will love this.

Tim then quickly moves over besides Rose. "Yes. Candy. For... school." Totally not safe to explain how they actually met, as it involves a lot of violence.

Damian Wayne has posed:
The youngest Wayne keeps a watch on the party from his chair, keeping mostly to himself before he looked at Tim, his frown growing to a full scowl, pulling his sunglasses down, and glaring with those green al Ghul eyes of his.

He did see what was going on between Carrie and Tim, standing up and slinking up not too far from Rose, those fists of hers having the young assassin on edge. He doesn't ball up his fists, just maintaining a close distance.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
The approach of Rose earns a quick, sharp gaze cast her way over the rim of her sunglasses. For all that she might look like a young woman just out for fun in the sun... She had an awfully fair amount of muscle on her arms. And she's quick to shift away from Tim when he wriggles free of the headlock, prompting her to stick her tongue out toward him for the appearance of the others. "Nyeh." She does however flash a smile to the approaching potential aggressor. "Hey, I'm his sister," she offers in a friendly tone before stepping over to take that hug Stephanie offered.

HOPEFULLY averting the potential crisis she allows her gaze to turn toward Roberto again with a solem nod. "Yeah, he said finals was a killer. It's okay. I know how that goes." Her words were meant to convey more than just what they did, and hopefully offer some comfort. He didn't have to explain for her benefit.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
The apartment complex is at best middle class and probably a bit below that. But the pool is a nice amenity and the warm summer has left the water a good temperature without needing a heater.

Stephanie's mother arrives at the group. "Looks like a lot of your friends made it," Crystal Brown says. Stephanie nods her head and says, "Yes, I don't think you've met most of them, have you?" She's met Roberto of course, and Stephanie goes around the group making introductions.

"Dick, and Tim... that's Damian over there, and Carrie, are all brothers and sister," Stephanie explains to her mom, without revealing their exact family line. "And this is Rose, and over there's Avery and her teacher Colleen."

Crystal Brown greets them all. "Hello, really glad you could make it out. Help yourselves to food, there's plenty of it. I never knew a pig could be so big," she says. The scents of the fire-roasted pork are definitely enticing to those into such meals.

Roberto gets a smile from Crystal. She's been filled in on his situation already of course. "Roberto, thank you again for making the trip down. I've been having a great time getting to know Nina," she says, looking towards Roberto's mother.

Rose Wilson has posed:
It seems to avert it enough. Rose's eye squints, though, like she's making sure that she's going to remember this. And probably make Tim pay for not letting her get into a fight.

"Hi. Rose Wilson." She offers, since there was no last name attached to her previous introduction from Tim. "Nice to meet you."

Then there is a look at Damian, measuring the smaller kid before some hint of amusement appears for a split second, then she nods, "Right, school."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Carrie's words work as intended conveying more than what they seemed and offering some comfort, it was good to know he wasn't the only one here who knew what had really happened. "Yeah, they were brutal, glad we all made it through and graduated. Definitely hope Dr. McCoy has a good break down here, he deserves it."

Then Crystal brown sweeps in to try and mitigate the tensions of the moment, whether successful or not Roberto nods, "I am sure my mom is glad to meet you too and you're welcome Mrs. Brown, thanks again for the invite." He puts on his best 'Meet the Parents' mode, polite, respectful and all of that, while eyeing the potential brawlers to see what might happen next.

Dick Grayson has posed:
"Understatement of the millenium," Dick says to Berto regarding the growing up, "Lots of kids, different stories." Rose's candy comment gets a raised brow from the eldest Wayneling, but he does not comment. He does not go deeply into his for obvious reasons. Then Damian went and does Damian things. "Damian, glad you could join us. Hope you are having fun?" His tone gives away that he is watching and is at least somewhat concerned, with a little humor thrown in. Dick does give Crystal a nod, "Thank you for your hospitality, Mrs. Brown. It is much appreciated."

Dick then looks over the pool and volleyball, "Plenty of options for recreation, anyone have a preference?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley grins at Roberto along with a nod. It's Dick's remarks that cause her to glance over at Damian as well with a raised eyebrow, and knowing smile. She doesn't remark on it though. The adults were getting close. "Nice to meet you!" She offers to Stephanie's mom with a little finger-waggle of a wave. "It all looks and smells amazing. You guys really went all out for Steph. Thank you for inviting us!"

Colleen Wing has posed:
Upon hearing her name given as an introduction to Stephanie's mother, Colleen turns completely around to politely greet the woman. "It is a pleasure to meet you. You have a lovely place here. As my good friend Kitty once said to me, /Anyone who opens their home to others truly is a caring person/. She pauses and realizes what she just said, shakingher head once. "Okay that sounded like a Hallmark card or the end of an after-school special...but seriously, thank-you for hosting."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Crystal Brown gives everyone a smile of greeting as the introductions happen. "Thank you for making it. I hope you all have a good time," she says. She turns back to Nina, "Want another beer? I don't know if we're going to make it all the way through this keg," she says as they head over to get more drinks to go with their food.

Stephanie eyes the keg. "I tried to talk her into getting one for the rest of us," she says, crossing her arms and giving a huff, before shrugging and smiling to the rest. "Well, I might jump in the water if anyone else is game," she says. "I mean, Damian's got a bathing suit and all, I'd hate to let it go to waste," she says, trying to keep a straight face about the suit.

She looks over to Roberto to see if he's up for a dip, and if so will head over to the pool. "Really am glad you came, Damian," she tells him more seriously. "Only get one of these high school graduations. Nice to have you here for it," she tells him.

Rose Wilson has posed:
"Isn't this supposed to be the recreation?" The question from Rose is shot towards Dick, clearly missing the whole have fun part of the day's events. The fight moments ago is forgotten, in the past.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"I bet," Roberto says to Dick. "If I remembered growing up I'd say it'd probably make me glad to be an only child," he grins.

Then it's pool time. Roberto nods to Steph "Sure, swimming works," he says stepping off to the side to shed his shirt and shorts, leaving him in swim trunks and bare feet.

Looking to Steph, he says, "See you in there?" then he takes a running start to cannonball into the pool.

Tim Drake has posed:
"Recreation, yeah," Tim grins. "Swimming, eating, drowning Damian..." Tim muses. "Well, might not have to, if he leaves the shallow end he might drown himself." Tim gives Damian the big brother 'dare ya to argue!' look. "...if you don't have a swimsuit, Rose, though, we can go towards the food. I'm totally good with grabbing some food. Dick can handle keeping the short one in check."

Colleen Wing has posed:
You know there are those times in life that just seem to take on a quality of slow motion? Time slows down and you know what is coming, but there is nothing you can do about it? This was one of those times. As Roberto launched himself in the air in a cannoball, Colleen knew that her dry upper-body was about to be completely soaked and there was nothing she could do about it. There may have been a muffled swear as her body turned to try and shield...whch actually did nothing. The water hitting her and soaking her completely. She turns back aorund, her long black hair soaked upon her face, peering out from behind a few strands stuck to her face. "I give it a 9.5, your entry was a few degress off perfect."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley glances down to her bag when it starts to jingle. Or maybe it's the phone she pulls out of it more likely. A glance is given to the screen and she hums thoughtfully. "I'm going to take this real quick," she explains as the others start to head off for the pool or food tables. "I'll be nearby," she assures with a grin. "You guys have fun!" Then she turns to find a quiet corner to answer her phone privately.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie Brown moves over towards the pool, telling Rose and Tim, "If you need a suit, can borrow one of mine." She looks to Tim. "That was directed at Rose. Though I'd probably pay money to see you in one of my bathing suits." She flashes a teasing grin towards him.

Roberto's racing towards the pool gets a grin from Stephanie. It's like seeing those little bits of his personality start to reemerge. She watches as he jumps into the air and splashes into the pool sending sprays of water in all directions.

She grins and continues over to the pool's edge. "I so wish we had a diving board," she says with a sigh. She changes her voice to obviously be impersonating someone, "Liability! Liability!" She lets out a sigh of frustration and shrugs. Stephanie turns to wave to Carrie as she departs, then looks back to the pool. Stephanie takes a short run up to the edge and then jumps, doing a flip and just barely getting it around without the extra height of a diving board, before she hits the water.

Rose Wilson has posed:
"I have one." Rose points out with a shake of her head, she might roll her eye, but they are in public. So she refrains from rolling her eye at Tim, instead she starts to head in the direction of the pool. Stopping at the edge she kicks off her flip-flops before she unfastens her jeans, starting to discard them and then the t-shirt. She did, evidently, know this was going to be a pool party and dressed for the theme in a bright orange bikini.

The pale hair gets twisted up and knotted, and then she takes the last few feet to the pool at speed before leaping into the water.

Dick Grayson has posed:
Dick nods to Berto and winces a little, as a former only child, though that changed under /weird/ circumstances to say the least. He turns to Tim after his explanation, "No drowning Damian. That would make you the baby and I don't think you want to be demoted to that rank." He grins and takes a drink and sets it down under a chair, and sets his keys, phone, and wallet next to it. "Seems like we are all going to be using the pool then." He takes his shirt off and sets it over his personal belongings and kicks off his flip flops next to them. With that, he jumps into the pool, taking a chance to show off his acrobatics a little in his form.

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim stares dumbly after Rose for far too long of a pause as she strips down into the bikini. He chews at the inside of his check a second, shaking his head and letting out a brief sharp breath before yanking his tank top over his head and discarding it on a lounge chair with his phone (locked!) and his wallet (fairly empty save an ID or three).

Shut it, Damian. Do NOT say a word. Also you too Dick. No comments from the peanut gallery.

We're cool. Everyone's cool. Tim promptly cannonballs into the deep end in a blur of bomb-pop decored swim trunks.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Arriving after Carrie, is Hank! Perhaps he passed her on the way out, but the big blue guy steps out into the pool area. The man glances around, offering a friendly enough smile. I mean, for a lion Beast. He's got on an aloha shirt and board shorts, along with open-toed sandals. A pause, then a wave to those who he's met. "Afternoon... hope I'm not too late?"

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto surfaces with a grin, he'd forgotten how good this felt. Swimming, having a good time. He quickly ducks back under the water as the others start to dive in, kicking over to Colleen and coming up there in time to get splashed himself.

He pushes his damp hair off his forehead and grins, "I'll take 9.5," he says with a glance back at the pool. "Though in this crowd I don't think that'll get me on the podium." What with Steph and Dick's acrobatics.

He glances back to Colleen, "Anyhow if you really do have one of those shirts to spare, I'd love one, my friend's name is Kitty and I sort of owe her, she hurt herself trying to help me and I want to pay her back with something nice."

Hank's arrival is met with a grin and a wave. "Hey Doc, not too late at all."

Rose Wilson has posed:
Eye-patch, not really the world's best swimming accessory. But that doesn't stop Rose from going under water and resurfacing anyways, the carefully done knot in her hair turning into a sodden mess when she surfaces. A hand raises up, sliding over her face then back to sweep any stray hair from her face, glancing around to see who else has joined everyone in the pool.

She spots Stephanie, starting to swim through the water in her direction, "Thanks. For letting me come to your party." Score! She is trying out this whole small talk thing.

Colleen Wing has posed:
Oh no she is being approached. Time to be social. It was not that Colleen was never social, she often was, but she clearly knew nobody at this party except for her student who had ditched her upon arrival to talk to some cute boy her age that clearly she has no chance with, because he is truly into the other girl they are talking to. "Wait. You know Kitty?" There is a smile that comes to her face and she slowly shakes her head. "Oh for sure. You can totally have a shirt to give then. I have joked about it...but have not done so yet. I have the perfect one for you to give her. Stop by the dojo sometime and I will give it to you. I even have a Hello Kitty headband that she needs to have as well and a pair of Kitty ears. If you really want, I have a belt with a tail. They send me weird things. So you could probsbly put together a nice little basket."

She tilts her head to the side to squeeze some water from her hair pulling it back over her shoulder. "She will love them all. Trust me. SHe has been asking about them." She extends her hand. "Not sure we have met. Colleen Wing. I have no idea who she is..." She gestures to Stephanie, "But...she apparently she has a lot of friends."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
The form of Henry McCoy is kind of hard to miss. There's quite a few looks from others that are here, the coworkers of Stephanie's mom, other friends from school and the like. Stephanie flashes him a bright smile and waves. "Hello Dr McCoy!" she calls over to him. "Glad you could make it. Carrie's off on her phone somewhere," she tells him.

Stephanie swivels back around, treading water and sees Rose coming towards her. A bright grin is given back to Rose. "You're welcome. Thank you for coming. It's nice having so many people out here," she says. "Tim's a good guy. Has really gone above and beyond for me before. I mean way beyond. Glad he brought you," Stephanie tells Rose. That small talk thing seems to be working so far!

Stephanie gives a little splash towards Roberto. She catches the comment from Colleen about having a lot of friends. It kind of gives Stephanie pause for a moment as she looks around at how many people are here. Glad to be in the water where any glistening in her eyes won't really seem like other than pool water.

Tim Drake has posed:
"Pssh," Tim treads water over by Steph, giving her a bump shoulder to shoulder. "Way beyond? Nah. Just the right amount for a friend." Hard to give a one armed hug while treaded water, so a shoulder bump will have to do. He glances at Rose, giving her an encouraging smile. Yes, socialization! Things to do with other people that don't involve shooting them! Or shooting at them menacingly! Or breaking their legs!

Henry McCoy has posed:
There's a smile at the greeting from Berto and Stephanie, the doctor heading over to the pool. "I saw her on the way out. Congratulations are in order for you, Miss Brown." He offers over, cheerful and polite. "Roberto isn't causing you too much trouble, is he?" Hank asks, clearly joking. "How is the water?"

He moves over to one of the nearby chair, removing his shirt then his sandals and placing them carefully there. "Plenty of room in there, I hope?" He grins, before moving over to the stairs to climb into the chill water.

Dick Grayson has posed:
Did Dick see Tim.exe stop working? Yes. Yes he did. Does he say anything? Not yet, got to save that embarrassment for later. Between that and Superfan over there, so much ammunition to tease his little brothers with.

In the water, Dick wipes the water from his eyes and responds, "Grew up an acrobat, the skills translate well. Though I am certainly not an Olympic diver by any means."

The arrival of Hank causes Dick to be confused, but he gives a nod in greeting, especially as the name is given and he gives a polite wave.

Rose Wilson has posed:
Or stabbing them? Or pushing them off the edge of buildings? Or setting them on fire? Maybe not fire, she has her standards.

There is a bit of a blank look at Stephanie though, listening to what she's saying and trying to come up with the reasonable social response to it. But reasonable fails, and instead her expression changes from blank to something more amused, "Are you wingmaning for him?"

Rose then glances at Tim, since his timing is perfect as always, a pale brow flicking upwards as she stares at him, the question practically a flashing sign in that brow raise.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Crystal Brown, the mother of Stephanie, comes over to greet Henry McCoy. "Mister McCoy," she starts, but Stephanie calls out, "Doctor!" Crystal amends herself, "Doctor McCoy, it's really an honor to have you here," she tells him. "Stephanie had mentioned meeting you, but I had no idea you would be coming today," she says.

Stephanie's mother looks around the party briefly, just beaming. "I've never met an honest to goodness superhero before!" she says. Stephanie floats there in the water, looking towards her mother and biting down on her lip hard.

The blond girl turns about to face Tim and Rose more directly. "I suppose so," Stephanie says with a soft laugh. "Though it's true in his case."

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim.exe has failed....

Rebooting...

Rebooting....

Critical error...

Yeah, Tim suddenly darkens as a flush hits his face, and he does what seems like an entirely good idea at the time.

He dunks himself under the water for a bit.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto grins broadly and wickedly as Colleen goes into all the Hello Kitty stuff she has to give Kitty. "Yes, yes to all of that, I'd be happy to pick up any of it for Kitty," he extends a hand out of the water. "Good to meet you Colleen, I'm Roberto da Costa, and where did you meet Kitty?" Then he glances back over his shoulder to look at Stephanie and smile. "Yeah, she does," he says, before turning back to Colleen. "I am just getting to know her again, head injury, but what I can tell you about her is she's pretty great," he says glancing back at Steph again and giving her a smile. An invitation to join them if she wants to. "And you mentioned a dojo in Chinatown? What do you teach?" he asks his attention turning to Colleen once more.

Rose Wilson has posed:
And then down he goes.

Rose looks down through the surface of the water, making sure that there's not a Timshark about to happen. That would be amusing, and potentially end up with a knee to the face. But no. He's just drowning himself in embarassment. So she turns her attention back towards Stephanie, "Looks like your wing is broken." It's a pointedly bland comment, and one that she probably feels is wasted since Tim is currently drowning himself. "Yeah, Tim's a good guy. Realy stand up, do good for the world, save the kitten from the tree kind of guy."

Henry McCoy has posed:
If he weren't blue and furry, it's certain that Hank would be blushing. "Misses Brown, a pleasure to be able to stop by. And I'm just a man doing right by his friends and the world at large. I appreciate the welcome - please, call me Hank." The Beast grins. "Lovely place you have here. I've been having a bit of a vacation in Gotham recently."

He's enjoying the cool water at the moment. "I had the honor of meeting your daughter at a societal event, a benefit dinner." A smile. "It's the same day I met Carrie, as well."

Tim Drake has posed:
Resurface! Yes! Totally meant to do that and it's totally cool and wow this is why he does not do this social thing very often except with other superheroes who also want to talk mostly shop about the finer points of superheroing. So, yeah, uh. He wipes the water away from his face, black hank of hair sticking wetly to his forehead. He looks towards Stephanie totally NOT shooting her a 'oh god please kill me now' look (*cough cough*), then gives Rose a forced grin. "Uh. So. Great party, Steph. You and your Mom have really put on a very enjoyable shindig." Shindig. Who uses that word outside of studying for a damn SAT verbal section?

Dick Grayson has posed:
As far as popcorn worthy moments go, Dick would give this one a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars. He manages to avoid a grin at Tim's expense, not wanting to embarrass the kid. Will he give Tim grief over this hole that he keeps digging deeper and deeper? yes. But to actually help out his little brother, Dick says, "Tim's a good kid, good enough for me to claim him as family. Though fortunately as he is not joining us here in the land of oxygen," he genuinely checks to see if Tim is doing okay for a moment, "I can safely say that without him being way..." then Tim resurfaced, and then dug himself an even deeper hole. "You all right, Tim?"

Colleen Wing has posed:
Colleen gives a smile that seems to say /I am so dead/, but nevertheless it is given. "I met Kitty a while back in Chinatown. She was looking for a Chinese lantern at one of the local markets for a friend named Xi'an I think? I taught her how to bargain her way through a Chinese market and we just clicked. Now like a stray she stops by to hang out from time to time." She gestures to Stephanie as well, extending that invitation. Anyone that knew Colleen knew her to be very welcoming to just abiout anyone. "I do. Chikara Dojo. It is not the most luxorious place, but it serves the purpose. I teach mostly children Karate, Kempo, Jujitsu and Kenjustu. First lesson is always free and you get a free t-shirt for just coming in."

She runs her hand through her wet hair. "I assure you she will love everything you give her."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie Brown flashes Rose back a grin as she watches Tim go under. "Yep, kitten-saver. He's definitely a kitten-saver," Tim will surface just in time to hear Stephanie say. She grins over towards Tim and says, "Thank you. Don't think I've had any kind of party like this in..." she trails off, and doesn't finish the sentence as she realizes there has been nothing at all like this in her past.

"Just glad you could all come out," Stephanie says. She reaches over to Roberto where he's at the side of the pool with Colleen, taking hold of him so she can stop treading water and use him to hold herself up. She gives Tim a quick grin and wink and then looks over to the conversation Roberto is having with Colleen. "Having your own dojo. That sounds really interesting. Though, would have to do the learning martial arts part first," Stephanie says. Lies. Well ok she's still learning, so not quite a lie.

Rose Wilson has posed:
"You can safely say what?" Oh, Dick isn't getting off that easily, not at all. Nor is Tim, since Rose doesn't even hesitate to ask this when he resurfaces and tries to play this all off like nothing is happening.

"Yeah. Kitten-saver." Rose agrees with Stephanie, adding on to Tim's comment, "Great party. I can't remember the last time I had this much fun." And then because this is Rose, and she's low-key evil, she glances at Tim, "I think your wingmen are expecting you to ask me out now. They are putting in a lot of effort."

Tim Drake has posed:
So it seems Rose is lethal in a plethora of ways. Guns. Knives. Fists. More guns. Rocket launchers. Sniper rifles.

WORDS.

Tim's left eye twitches slightly. "Ahh. Wingmen. Yes, well, you know... older brother... and Steph..." dammit Steph... "I can see where you might consider them wing-do-you-want-to-see-a-movie-I-have-a-theater-you-know." That last bit comes out as a total rush because Tim is //so smooth// he is like Santana. Totally. "Or uh. Could. Do something else."

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian had looked up from his phone, catching sight of Tim, and his face turns an eerie smile the likes others have never seen before.

His phone was in a perpetual state of silent, but judging by the movement of his thumb in one specific place, it was safe to assume he was taking many pictures. Many many pictures.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
There is a glance back for the Wayne family antics going on behind him, then he beckons to Hank, "C'mon in, Doctor, meet yourf in-laws!" he calls to the teacher once he's finished talking to Steph's mom.

Chuckling he turns back to Colleen, to explain. "He's one of my teacher and is dating those guy's sister, actually he knows Kitty too, she and I went to the same school," he explains. "And that definitely sounds like her, I've been wondering where she sneaks off to."

When Steph comes and uses him as something to anchor to, he turns and kisses her cheek, "Hey," he says in greeting. "Sure I'll come by then pick up that stuff for my friend," he says pausing to explain to Steph. "She knows Kitty from my school," he says before asking, "If you want you can come with when i go pick up the stuff we can check the place out," he looks back to Colleen. "If that works for you?"

Dick Grayson has posed:
Dick grins and says to Rose, "That he isn't horrible people." Seeing Tim suddenly be blushing and stammering causes Dick to wince internally, especially given Rose's blunt question. He backs up a little to give Tim the space he needs, swimming over to the other side of the pool to get a fresh drink for himself, leaving wet footprints along the deck of the pool for the brief moments he is out of it.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Swimming over to where Roberto was, he chuckles. "In-laws? That's... a bit presumptuous?" He offers, a bit embarrased. "Unless you're solely trying to get me into trouble..." A chuckle to Roberto. He nods in greeting to Colleen. "Hello. Henry McCoy, at your service." He offers over, friendly enough!

He seems rather content there, floating in the water, feet lazily keeping him from sinking to the bottom.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie grins towards Tim. Oh yes, she's totally loving this. The best part? After having gotten mad at him a few years ago over girls that he wasn't seeing, she can actually count this as making up for it!

She keeps an eye on that conversation, still grinning. A grin which grows at the kiss to her cheek. She listens to the explanation from Roberto. "Oh, so you have friends in common? Nice!" Stephanie says. Steph looks like she's in thought and then says, "I don't recall if I met a Kitty at your graduation party," Stephanie says to Roberto, "Not that I recall anyway," she says, more an explanation for Roberto who would remember the night even less clearly, if at all.

Stephanie flashes Colleen a grin. "Figures you have to come all the way to Gotham to figure that out, right?"

Colleen Wing has posed:
"Absolutley. The door is always open. Well except at night when I lock it, because if you saw where it was you would lock it too. I'll leave you my number and if you let me know when you wish to come by I can make sure I am free and have something for you guys to eat. Granted it will not be something fancy and more than likely come out of a carton."

Another smile is given to Stephanie. "It was totally worth the trip. I don't get out a lot. Most of the time people come to me...and I am trying to fix that. My social life is not exactly existent. Where most peeople's is the half hour show, mine is more like the commercial break." She shrugs and smiles. "This is something well worth it. "

Rose Wilson has posed:
"You have a theater?" Rose frowns at Tim at that one, because she is almost half-thinking that she didn't actually hear what he said right at first. "I guess."

Either that means yes to a movie at his place, or something. But there is no punches to the face, so it is a win either way, right? "They also both abandoned you to sink or swim." She lifts a hand, pointing in the direction of Dick and Stephanie who did sort of just leave him.

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim regards where both Dick and Steph have puttered off to, a small amount of relief on his face. "I mean... fair." He rubs the back of his neck. "Yeah, I kind of bought an old theater and re... did... it. I live in it. It's kind of cool, I think." He gives Rose a grin. "But we'll uh, figure something out." Yes? See? Dick isn't the only one with game! Totally game and not at all amusement or pity from Rose! Ha!

Damian Wayne has posed:
After everything was said and done, phone put back onto the chair.

The boy approached Dr. McCoy, and looked at the blue mutant. He stands a moment before taking off his glasses and looking up at the man. "Doctor McCoy." He says in a rather monotone voice, even borderline scathing. Only for that to lift, and his eyebrows to soften before speaking again. "I read your thesis on genetic mutation in recombinant DNA. Insightful." He said, reaching out his hand, despite his childish swim suit, he was smarter than his age gave him credit.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie continues to keep an eye on Tim's progress. She leans nearer to Dick to whisper, "It's like watching a baby bird leave the nest for the first time." Ok maybe it wasn't a true whisper, but it might not have carried all the way to Tim.

She turns back to Colleen to smile to her and say, "Well good, I'm glad if this made it worth your while to get out of town," she says. Stephanie looks to Roberto. "We'll have to stop by sometime when I'm in town visiting, too. I'd like to see her dojo."

Henry McCoy has posed:
There's a turn as he's approached by Damian. Hank raises an eyebrow at the comment, smiling. The hand is accepted and shook, though there is some care in doing so. "You must be Damian. Carrie spoke of you." He grins. "Pleasure to meet you!"

"Glad you found my papers as such - it's a passion of mine. Of course, given my natural affinity for the subject, I felt a bit like cheating when I wrote them."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Grinning, Roberto says, "Let's call it hopeful?" he suggests about his whole in laws remark.

Roberto turns back to Colleen and smiles as Hank makes his way over., "You and Stephanie should get along," he observes as Colleen rambles a bit about doors and stopping by in a very Steph like fashion. "We'll definitely call and stop by for something to eat then, sounds like fun."

Nodding to Steph, he says, "Didn't you? Hmm, anyhow she's fun, and been a big help since I got back," he says of Kitty.

"I know what you mean," he says about a social life, "I am told I used to have one but recently mostly being close to home. Good you could get out and see the sights though."

Dick Grayson has posed:
Dick sees some of the reaction and is back in the pool in time for Stephanie's whisper, to which he gives a grin and a brief laugh, "Kid just needs some confidence. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." His response is in a matching volume. "He'll be fine, I think."

Colleen Wing has posed:
"Yes, Kitty and I have gotten ourselves in some pretty interesting situations. Let's just say the fact that they have thus far avoided social media is a good thing." She smiles at Roberto and Stephanie and nods once. "I look forward to it. I will even toss in a free dojo t-shirt. You know, free advertising and all never hurts. I must tell you my place is not all that big. and nothing to write home about, but I like to call it socially cozy.

Rose Wilson has posed:
"Unless you're attempting to make me either intimidated by the money, or turned on by it, probably just lead next time with asking if I want to watch a movie." Rose points out, although she doesn't seem either threatened or turned on by all the big bucks the Wayne kids have. "But you can show me this re-did old theater. Did you find anything hiding in the walls? I heard that was a thing."

Never have she heard this was a thing. Shop talk can't happen, and this is as good as Rose can pull off without being able to break down the best way to kill someone with a spoon or a tea cup. "So movie, and food? That's usually the pattern. And I did see that in a movie once. You're supposed to do that."

With that, she starts to move away from Tim to head towards the edge of the pool, pulling herself up from the water to sit on the edge, attention shifting towards the others, pausing momentarily on Hank.

Tim Drake has posed:
Oh. Shit. She's... actually serious. Too bad Damian stopped recording, because Tim is startled enough by that (and Rose now out of the water) that he slips a bit, dunking himself //unintentionally// this time. He resurfaces, sputtering a little. "Uh, yeah," he tries to pretend that didn't just happen. "Movie, food, yes. You tell me when, I'll make it happen. I'll order in from the Red Rose, pizza and extra garlic knots." He grins, though it slightly wavers a bit. "I mean, if that works for you." He moves towards the edge and pulls himself up too, just now noticing Hank. He's more than a little off his game. Wonder why.

"You must be Doctor McCoy," he says, greeting the furry blue mutant. "Carrie's told us a lot about you. I'm her brother Tim. Nice to meet you."

Damian Wayne has posed:
"CORRECTION!" Damian yells out to the pool, whipping his head to those over there. "Father has a theater." Damian offers, grinning from ear to ear.

He walks up towards the pool with a slight swagger, offset by his perfectly dry swim suit and shirt. "Chances are, he was attempting some from both columns."

Dick Grayson has posed:
Dick joins the other Batlings over by Hank and extends a hand, "Good to meet you, Hank." Damian gets a raised brow of disapproval. Never sabotage like that. But he returns his attention to Hank, "Glad to finally meet you."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie Brown had watched Damian's approach to Henry McCoy. Just a slight bit wary. Though the blue-furred mutant could handle himself probably as well or better as anyone else there, still. It was Damian.

So there was a quiet sigh of relief as what Damian has to say is complimentary. Stephanie relaxes again, floating gently against Roberto's side as she watches people eating and drinking, while most of her friends are gathered around the pool. "This really has gone nicely," she tells Roberto quietly, with a bit of emotion in her voice. He might be lacking some of the memories to put together just why it's so meaningful to her. But it's easy enough to tell it is.

Rose Wilson has posed:
The correction from Damian causes Rose's attention to snap over towards him, "Both columns?" She tugs the knot from her hair before she gets to her feet, a brow lifting upwards at the smallest of the Wayne boys. "Who was from what columns?" Because she has zero idea what he's talking about.

Although, she does glance at Tim, pointing out, "Garlic knots are more Conner's thing. Plus, garlic, onions, anchovies, all those things are really not great for making out. Makes your breath rank."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"Sounds like a deal," Roberto says about the t-shirts just for visiting. "We can bring the take out then since we're giving you free advertising. What do you say Steph?" he asks her before following her gaze around the party. "Yeah, this was a great idea, well, as long as Hank survives the Wayne family dogpile anyhow."

Henry McCoy has posed:
And then, there were Batfolk! Not that Hank knew that. He does nod to Tim and Dick, smiling. "More of Carrie's brothers?" A genuine smile is offered to them. "Carrie's lucky to have so many brothers." He chuckles. "Pleasure to meet you all. Please, call me Hank." Sharp ears to pick up on Roberto's comment as well.

"I've no doubt that her family is not out to attack me..." He chuckles. "Protect their sister, of course - but not attack me over it, unless I do something unwarranted."

Colleen Wing has posed:
Colleen takes a moment to full submerge herself in the water, only really have gotten completely wet when Roberto went all cannonball. She surfaces and wipes her hair back, moving to lean against the edge of the pool., arms draped over the side. "So is that like a whole pig over there?"

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim looks somewhat very confused. Also, no lie, a little elated, but mostly confused. He's not exactly a scrub, but he isn't Dick, either, and he's relatively sure this isn't how asking someone on a date goes. His initial thought is to figure out why this is going so incredibly not as expected but analyzing the interaction and comparing it with previous interactions with Rose, and other data on normal kinds of date-question-things, though his data is largely anecdotal.

However, sinking into his phone or heading back to his theater-turned-apartment with all its computers and such would be kind of rude, so he's just going to have to wing it. WWDD-- what would Dick do?

"Well, then we'll go with something else. I'm open to whatever suggestions you have, Rose." He does NOT say anything stupid this time, at least. He looks to Hank. "Nah, no attacking. She's told us nothing but good things." He gives the doc a grin.

He glances back to Rose. "I think the little brother is implying I was both trying to intimidate and impress you... which... I'm not stupid enough to try and do the former. And I wasn't thinking about the latter, at least not in that way." He shrugs. "Also, ignore Damian. It's probably for the best."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie nods in agreement with Roberto. "Sure thing, we can handle the food," she agrees with a smile for the Japanese girl. Stephanie rests her hand on Roberto's shoulder, hooked over it from behind, her eyes going back over the party. As she looks around, she meets eyes with her mother looking over at Stephanie in the pool. The two Brown women eyes meet and something passes between them. Of making up for birthday parties missed by her parents year after year, to addiction and worse. It's just a brief look, but a telling one for the daughter and mother.

Stephanie looks back to the pool, clearing her throat a little. "Just being protective," she agrees to Henry McCoy.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian turns and faces Rose. Still smiling slightly. "Both columns meaning that he was trying to both intimidate you by the money, and elicit a sexual response."

He turns around, walking away. "He May try to deflect. But when it comes down to it, it is simply a behavior done by many males of various species. Peacocking, is the layman's term. Originating from the primal drive to spread ones genes far and wide. Part of that is done by finding a willing mate in order to copulate such an action or 'Get someone to bang with.'" Yes, he even used finger quotes.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"Sounds like we have a plan then," Roberto says of the visit to the dojo, "Hit us with your number before you go and we'll set things up."

As for the pig there's a nod there, "It is, want some?" he looks to Steph. "Thing's got to be ready by now?" he confirms.

There's a smile though as some of the Wayne family talk reaches his ears, "Wow and I thought my friends were savage," he grins approvingly.

Henry McCoy has posed:
The Beast nods to Tim and Sephanie. "Totally understandable, she is worth protecting." He says, absolutely serious. "I assure you, no ill intentions towards your sister at all. She's been helping me mend from the recent ordeal." He adds, a bit more quietly.

There's a blink from Hank at Damian's candid explanation, followed by a chuckle. "I can neither confirm nor deny the terms described." A snicker.

Colleen Wing has posed:
"Oh I am not going to be the first. I was commenting on the fact that there was an entire pig over there. Like snout and all." She peers once again to the swine and then back to Roberto. "I shall certainly give you my number before I go. I just want to be sure I am not in the middle of a class when you stop by." She hoists herself up out of the water to sit on the edge, swaying her legs back and forth in the water. "So if I may be so bold to ask...what do you exactly owe Kitty for?"

Rose Wilson has posed:
"I mean, we can skip the movie and dinner and go right to 'banging'." Rose lifts her hands, mimicing Damian and his finger quotes around the last word. Then she drops her hands back to her sides before she glances over towards Roberto and Stephanie, focus narrowing in on them, "You two seem happy, and you." You. Stephanie. "Are supposed to be a wingman. Food and movie, and if so what food, or just skip to the 'banging'?" Yep. Finger quotes again.

Then she informs Damian, and many a little bit of Tim in case he wasn't sure how to impress her although she probably doubts it, "A theater that he's redone isn't going to get me hot and bothered. There are other ways. Usually more..." How does one politely say that to impress them someone needs to be defenstrated? Or stabbed?

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim looks like he might want to sink into the ground, have it swallow him whole, and disappear. He's barely gotten up the wherewithal to ask one of the most deadly women-- no, deadly persons-- he knows out on an actual date, possibly, because he's still somewhat in a small amount of shock and disbelief she seems to be going along with it (though he's wondering if she's going to pull the rug out from under him in an hour and say she was joking-- Rose did have a somewhat dark sense of humor after all). While he cannot deny the extremely visceral and hormonal response he has-- had? has? to Rose's presence in the purely purient sort of way...

COME ON DAMIAN. He actually hadn't even really tripped too far down that path mentally (see "in an hour" above) quite yet but hello! Guess who now has those thoughts front and center and trying //really// damn hard to shove them aside because:

    a) Rose could kill him
    b) Rose's dad is a psychopath and could kill him
    c) this is assuming BRUCE doesn't kill him (though far more figuratively) when it gets back to him, which it will, because BRUCE HEARS EVERYTHING.

So, here's Tim, standing beside the pool and staring with a look of pure blank Tim.exe has crashed.

Until Rose starts talking, and then he starts stammering, a bit of angry towards Damian and annoyance with it all in his tone. "No, no, this is exactly why I said don't listen to Damian, and yes, I am glad for the... winghelp... but in all seriousness, Rose, yeah, I kinda... like you, and would like to actually go on an actual date, where my ulterior motives are mostly along the lines of spending time with you. I can't lie, I mean... you're... wew, you're very. Um. Hot, and I would, probably, uh, I mean, if that happened, I wouldn't be adverse, and ..." he trails off. "And those things that I suspect might get you worked up you know I can't do, so. Dammit. This... I'm calling a mulligan. Thanks for the party, Steph. I should probably head out."

Damian Wayne has posed:
Even barefoot, Damian manages to turn an about face and walk to Tim, looking him straight in the eye. "So you denying that you wish to perform coitus with this lady?"

"Very well." Damian says, shrugging his shoulders and following through. "Then, Tim. Your quarry has proposed skipping the usual social graces and moving straight onto copulation. Wingman status: A plus." He says before he gives Tim a look that screams: I just did your job better than you.

Dick Grayson has posed:
Dick listens and observes for a second as he gets a little bit of food, but the sudden shift in the conversation and Damian and Rose's interaction get a raised brow from the eldest of the kids. "Damian, quit being an ass," Dick says before taking a drink. He takes another one and sighs, it's always those two.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie Brown tells Roberto, "I think eating sounds like a great idea. My stomach is starting to rumble a little bit." She doesn't get out of the water though as Rose asks Stephanie and Roberto their advice. The blond glances to Roberto and then back to Rose.

"Really kind of up to what would you make you happiest. I kind of think spending some time together first is a pretty good idea," Stephanie says without looking to Tim. There's teasing and there's moments that go beyond teasing and she answers what she thinks he'd want and keeps it at that.

Stephanie pats Roberto's shoulder. "So, yes. Food? Anyone else? Want food?" she asks. Stephanie goes to the side of the pool and pushes up with her arms while kicking in the water with her feet to boost herself up out of the water gracefully.

Barbara Gordon has posed:
Babs probably has a good reason for being so terribly late to the party. She may have an excuse and just say work or something in mixed company, but she really does have a good reason.

She park a bike out front and then tucks a helmet under her arm. Not the one she was wearing but another helmet. It is a purple and blue theme that definitely will be familiar to some people.

Making her way to the pool deck where she was told the party is she follows the sounds of people talking. "Did I miss all the food... I just heard food..." in responsse to Stephanie's questoin.

As far as outfits go, Barbara Gordon is wearing a pair of stylish cut designer jeans and a dark blue blouse with a light weight black leather jacket.

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim grits his teeth, and holds up a finger to Damian. "There's more to 'copulation' than just the act, kid." He bites his tongue before saying something crass about Damian's own conception, knowing better of it. "You are entirely missing the point if you think I want that from anyone without more behind it than simple hormones. If that's all I wanted, I'd have long since--" he shakes his head. "Never mind. Rose, if you... if you still want to do something, let me know. I still do. I'm going to go cool off a bit. I'll be back in ten or twenty. Steph, you mind if I head inside for a few?"

Colleen Wing has posed:
Colleen just stares in wide-eyed disbelieve on what hasjust transpired. That guy wants that girl. This other guy was supposed to be helping said guy? She blinks a few times and bites her lower lip. Yes, what just unfolded before her is how most dates ended for her. Well, hers usually ended with the guy saying he had to use the bathroom and slipping out a side door leaving her with the check. "Yes. Food. That might be good. I could go for some of that pig. It has been a while since I have been porked. I mean had pork. Damn it." She pushes herself to a standing position and makes her way to follow Stephanie. It would appear that whole conversation shortwired her a moment too."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Wew boy. Roberto turns away from the Wayne drama for now, okay he may be watching it through one eye at this point, but he turns to Colleen at the very least. "Oh, I was in accident not that long ago, my friends pulled me out of it, and Kitty was one of them, burnt herself pretty bad on her leg," he says. "Figured that deserves at least a little bit of something from me for her sacrifice."

As for the questions thrown their way, Roberto looks up, pulling a face. "Uh, no comment?" he asks before he jumps on Steph's suggestion of food. "Yes, food, food would be good right now, really anything that we can stuff in our mouths so words don't get out."

Rose Wilson has posed:
It's possible that Tim's estimations of Rose's reasonings for saying yes, and then playing along with all this are right. But then again, maybe he's wrong as well. Maybe Rose said yes because she actually meant yes. Is that even possible? She's being //nice//?

But then Tim is going on about all those things, and calling it a mulligan and getting ready to leave. There's a bit of a brow raise, then Rose moves to grab her clothes, sliding her feet into her flip-flops, because she came with Tim. One assumes that she's supposed to leave with him, this is how those things work, isn't it? Probably not a helpful thing for his attempts to flee. Throwing her jeans over her shoulder she moves right for Damian, staring down at him, "Wingman Status: F. You're supposed to offer help, not tear them down and try to be a smartass. You? You're a kamikaze, and you just crashed and burned as a wingman. Try again."

Henry McCoy has posed:
There was mention of food!? Hank perks up, all but vaulting out of the pool. Standing high jump for the win! He steps away from the other, toweling and shaking off as best he can. He's got no words of advice for Tim, just an understanding look from one bashful guy to another. Likewise, he has no remarks for Damian, letting his siblings and Rose handle the comments there.

"Pig? As in a luau? Hawaiian pit barbeque?" He wonders, looking to those in the know.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie Brown is out of the water, waiting for Roberto to join her as she grabs a towel and dries off a little bit. "Tim, sure, go on inside if you like," she tells him, her expression sympathetic.

The newest arrival gets a huge grin from Stephanie. A huge, goofy grin. Steph hurries over to Barbara, the only thing saving the redhead from a hug is not wanting to get her wet. "I thought maybe you were going to ditch me," Stephanie says with a grin to the person she knew definitely wouldn't do that. "Yes. We have SO much food. Come have some. I never knew pigs were that big!" Stephanie says of the hog roasting on the spit, a fair amount of it already waiting on the table, sliced up and served with bbq sauce and toasted bread and all sorts of sides.

Stephanie glances at the helmet. "That's a new one," she comments, not making it clear whether she noticed the color scheme or not. Yes she noticed the color scheme!

Damian Wayne has posed:
"The judeo-Christian construct of God couldn't help Drake." Damian says with a scowl and with that right hand of his balling up.

He turns, starting to make his way back to his chair, his sunglasses perched on his face again.

Barbara Gordon has posed:
"Hey Steph.. and no I wouldn't ditch you. Also excellent .. not going to be missing food since I had no time to grab food with the work stuff going on this worked out for the best." honestly Babs would have survived a wet hug but instead she can just look amused. "I can't believe you spit an entire hog for this party... well it looks like a great turnout for it though." eyes bouncing slowly over everyone gathered. Pausing a bit curious at Rose and Damian ovr there and then Henry. She is honestly spending more time on the people she hasn't met which, well Rose and Henry, with the appraising looks.

Colleen gets a smile, even if it doesn't make sense to Colleen necessarily.

Looking back to Stephanie she ahs and holds the helmet up. "Yes. Yes it is. Do you like the colors?" there is a pregnant pause. "Because hopefully.. it is yours. The owner fob is in the helmet." she offers it offer to Stephanie upside down so nothing spills out. "Parked out front. I drove it over hope you don't mind."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto climbs out of the water and grabs a towel. "Yeah, doc, like a whole pig on a spit, island style," he informs the mutant as he grabs up his Magnum PI style Hawiian shirt and pulls it on.

Despite meeting her once, Barbara doesn't ping as familiar (damn stolen memories) but Roberto's eyes widen as she presents a motorcycle to Stephanie. "Wow," he says. "So, Steph, who's your extremely generous friend?"

Rose Wilson has posed:
This might come back to haunt her one day. Long, long in the future, when she's dying of old age in her bed, remembering all the things that she's done in her life. Buuuut, probably not.

When Damian starts to turn back to his chair it gives Rose the opening she probably should never be given. The jeans and her shirt get dropped so that she can grab Damian, and then she shoves the kid into the pool, tacking on a monotone, "Oops. My bad." Which totally absolves her of any wrong doing, right?

Dick Grayson has posed:
Once Tim and Rose tend to the situation with Damian, Dick says nothing else, letting Damian vent. Dick then begins drying off for a moment and is able to get his shirt back on when he notices a familiar face. He gives Babs a nod and waves, taking a few steps in that direction, "Good to see ya, Babs." The talk about the bike stuns him a little, it was definitely better than his card with a check in it. "Oh wow," though this surprise is soon overwhelmed by teh baby of the family getting chucked in the pool. Dick takes this moment to chuckle quietly before Damian resurfaces.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie turns to wave Roberto over as she's talking to Barbara. Steph turns back, eyes going to the helmet as Barbara notes the colors. "I... ah... Barbara... oh... oh my God. Really? Are you... oh my God!"

It's a good thing that Barabara doesn't mind wet hug, because that's what she gets. A long and tight hug that will last awhile before Stephanie finally lets go, and even then she's overwhelmed a bit before she finally looks back to the offered helmet to accept it.

Roberto comes over and Stephanie turns to him, still just floored by the gift. "Roberto, this is Barbara. She's like the older sister who I think was stolen from a delivery room to deny me," she tells him. "We met... ah... it was at a rock climbing gym. One of our first real dates," she tells him. The hesitation wasn't Stephanie having to think of when they met. It was a bit of emotion she had to work through her throat to be able to keep talking.

"Babs, this is just... I mean... wow. This is... thank you," she says. "You... I can't find the words, really."

Henry McCoy has posed:
Still drying off, Hank watches the introduction of Barbara to Robert and the gift exchange. A smile is offered over in greeting, though he'll wait to introduce himself. And then there's a splash as Rose shoves Damian into the pool. There's no comment there, just a slight wince and a chuckle.

Good for her!

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian had left himself open for such an act. He was relatively light enough to be tossed in the pool with ease. Those in attendance may have heard a grunt and a loud voice crack before he makes contact with the water with a crash.

He surfaces after a short bit, grabbing his sunglasses and moving towards the steps to get out. As he does, he begins to unbutton his shirt, removing it to dry off. His torso bore a number of scars, all over. Much more than a normal mid term should have.

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim returns from his 'fresh air' in the apartment. For him, fresh air was more likely to mean "a place without people" as Tim tends towards introversion. He had only needed a few minutes to clear his head, without other people around, where he could let his mind //work// and focus.

So when he strides out back into the party, it's with purpose and intent. Those who know him as Red Robin may recognize his stride and sense of purpose as identical to how he carries himself with the mask on.

As he rejoins the party, Damian is coming out of the pool, and Tim simply (for those who notice, far more adeptly than a normal 19 year old should be able to do) shoves Damian back into the water, with all his skill behind the shove, knowing his 'little brother's' skillset well enough. He strides to Rose, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Okay. So, once more, with feeling. Rose, would you allow me to invite you to dinner, I'm thinking the new gourmet burgers and shakes place downtown, and afterwards a... show. I'm thinking something with gangsters. Mobsters, even." He pauses a moment. "Friday night? If that's not good for you, maybe Sunday evening."

He reaches up, scratching his chin. "And, I think I'd like to kiss you. I'd rather not take you by surprise on it, because I'd like to keep all my limbs intact." He nods, his eyes serious.

Barbara Gordon has posed:
Thankfully clothes, even the really expensive leather variety, well it dries eventually right. She hugs Stephanie back laughing. "Yes really. Really really." she still smiling looks herself over and then makes sure that Stephanie firmly has the helmet before turning her attention more to Roberto.

She keeps half an eye on the Damian and the mess ver there. Trying to make sure it doesn't start involving knives.

To Roberto. "It was a good first meeting." she notes to Roberto encouraging.

"You're welcome Stephanie."

Henry McCoy has posed:
Hank actually takes mental notes from Tim, in his discussion with Rose. "Food sounds great, and a well-cooked pig is a blessing." The Beast grins over. A look to Stephanie, then the others. "Anything I can help out with?"

Rose Wilson has posed:
Now that she's thrown a kid into the pool, Rose just looks like she's not sure about the whole...being social thing. Which is fine. It's fine. Everything is fine.

She starts to grab her clothes off the ground again and looks like she's about to beat a retreat before anyone can get mad at her for throwing kids into pools, or notices that she is still there and wants to have normal, social conversation. There is, however, a pause when Tim reappears and shoves Damian back into the pool before she gives Tim a curious look. "I already said yes." It's a good bet she has no clue what he meant by a mulligan, honestly.

Then, because it's neither a yes nor a no, she adds, "I'm not armed."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie Brown is more than a bit overcome by everything she owes Barbara. "Thank you," she says again, and it's not just the bike that she's talking about. Stephanie smiles to her and then turns towards Roberto, sliding an arm around him and hugging him. "Love you," she says softly into his ear before loosening up the hug. "Come on, let's get something to eat," she says. "Doctor McCoy, you can come eat and help us go through some of this food," she tells him with a big grin.

Steph looks to Barbara and says, "And after we can go out and look at the bike."

Colleen Wing has posed:
Colleen had exited the pool and made her way to some of the food, taking a plate of it and enjoying it. That was until Avery came sauntering up "Um Ms. Wing. Yeah my mom found out from Laura's mom that there was going to be boys here and it was a pool party and..well she is out front. I think if you want a ride back to the City we need to go now. She seems pretty pissed and I convinced her to stay in the car to keep some of my rep intact. You know?"

There is a small sigh given and and a few more quick bites taken of the foodm. setting the plate down on the table and moving to find Stephanie. "Thank you so much for having me. Apparently my ride is here. I do look forward to you coming by the dojo soon. You too Roberto was it? You have my number." There is actually a small bow given as she moves to depart, grabbing her clothes along the way.

Tim Drake has posed:
"Well, all right then." Tim cocks his head. "Not that being armed really stops--" he murmurs in an undertone, before shaking his head and stopping himself. Gift horse, Tim. He leans forward and kisses Rose gently-- not for long, and certainly not anything that would give Damian the ideas that little bratling certainly seems to have. But it's a kiss, and it's something Tim had been considering on and off for some time, even if he's completely sure he'd never hear the end of it from Conner or Cassie-- much less his brothers and sister.

Besides, if she breaks his arm and throws him into the pool, part of him would consider it worth it. Painful, but worth it.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto shakes hands with Babs. "Sorry, working on the whole memory thing, but good to meet you again," he says.

When Steph hugs him and whispers those words in his ear he smiles whispering back, "Love you too," before he lets go, though as she heads to the food looking to drag him along with he holds up a hand, "Hold on, I want to see how this turns out," he says of the situation between Rose and Tim, watching it like it was some sort of live action soap opera.

Though he's not so wrapped up in it he misses Colleen's departure, giving her a nod to her bow. "We'll call soon, would love to drop in and see this famous dojo, drive safe," he says with a smile before he turns back to the kiss already in progress.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie Brown tells Colleen goodbye. "Looking forward to seeing your dojo," the blond girl tells her. "Have a safe trip back to New York." Stephanie waves and then turns back, looking over in time to see the kiss. "Well, that seems to have worked out ok," she says. "And no drownings. I think?" She looks to make sure Damian hasn't turned into a floater.

She slides her arm around Roberto's waist. "Best graduation party. Ever."

Rose Wilson has posed:
No broken arms, no more Batkids shoved into the pool, by Rose at least. The kiss is accepted, and no violence breaks out because of it. Which could be disappointing for some.

When it is broken there is a slight narrowing of her eye, then she finally speaks up about the show on offer, "I like mobster shows. Friday is fine."

Henry McCoy has posed:
There's a glance from Hank to his shirt - a buzzing from a phone there in the pocket. He smiles to Stephanie and Roberto, a bit of relief on his face at their closeness. A smile also to Tim and his victory in not having any bones broken! He reaches for his shirt, pulling his phone free. "Drat." A smile to the hostess. "I do need to run - I'll have to pass on the food, unfortunately. Congratulations again - hope to chat with you all again soon."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
The party's Telenovela LARP at a satisfactory conclusion, Roberto slips his arm around Stephanie and nods. "Awesome party," he says kissing her cheek.

Otherwise he's content to spend the night with Steph's friends, and promises Hank to bring back some pig when he heads back up to the school. Wouldn't be fair to let the man miss out.
