Location: Brooklyn
Synopsis: And Date #2 shows promise and problems.
Cast of Characters: Samuel Guthrie, Alexis Carr

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie talked to Doug and found out how to make the Treble symbol on his phone and keyboard, that took him a bit. But a few days after their first encounter, he has sent het a message, asking if she would like to hang out, get a burger or maybe go to a museum or something.

Alexis Carr has posed:
Incidentally, the puzzle was a red herring. The name really was @AlwaysInTrebble -- a pun. Easier to get a hold of her than Sam thought -- though it took a few days to get her to respond.

And on a day where the street performer had indeed released a piece, she had agreed to meet up -- that very evening, in fact, what luck!

She went with the burger date plan, and showed up outside the burger joint wearing a light jacket, dark blue jeans and worn sneakers, her long hair hidden behind her beanie again, sporting a pair of glasses on her nose, cheap earbuds in her ears as she walks.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie shows up in a white and grey 98 Subaru Legacy Outback. ( https://newyork.craigslist.org/que/cto/d/richmond-hill-98-subaru-legacy-outback/7073029847.html ). He finds a parking spot, and will climb out of the car looking around. He is wearing jeans and a royal purple T, with a flannel jacket on. Once he sees her he will smile and offer her a wave and heads over towards her.

Alexis Carr has posed:
The dark-eyed girl gives a sidelong smile to Sam, and pulls her earbuds out, winding the cord and slipping them into her pocket.

T"Hey Sam, sorry it took me a couple days -- I... had some stuff that was going on." she trails off embarrassedly, rubbing the back of her neck. "But, I'm famished, and I've not had burgers from here yet -- are they good?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles and says "Yea, I saw your track." He will look at her he thinks he knows what it might be about perhaps. "I have only eaten here once or twice, but was pretty good when I did eat here." He will open the door for her, and says "I will admit was wondering if you would be up to tonight when I heard the track."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Oh, well, I finished mixing it yesterday." she replies quietly, and glances down. "I... can't do much to help, my circumstances are kinda oddball, but I had to do something. It's monetized. One of the only things that is on the accounts, and it's all going towards relief efforts." she replies quietly.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods his head a bit and will reach to take her hand, and says "How is it Oddball hon?" He will guide her to a seat, and yes again, he pulls the chair out for her. He offers a grin to her "It is a good thing to help people."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"A lady must keep some mystery about herself, Sam." she gives a slight grin, and she sits down, taking off her jacket. She's wearing a black sweatshirt beneath it, and she picks up a menu, taking a look at it and calculating calories in herbrain.

"Have... you been involved in efforts?" she questions, her dark eyes peering over her menu.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie makes a so so motion. "Not as much as Ah wish Ah could be." He admits. "Ah wish ah could be there helping find people, but from everything Ah have heard there are not a lot to find, and then there is Magneto's words." he sighs and looks saddened "Ah want so much for people to get along, but sometimes Ah look at people on both sides and it is almost enough to make you loose heart, but it is an important goal, and has to be continued to be worked for.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Do you really think that humans and mutants would be able to get on in the long term?" she quietly asks, rubbing the back of her head quietly, tapping her fingers against the table. Nervous.

"I mean, more mutants being born every year, humans get worried that we'll be outnumbered eventually." she gives a wry smile. "And there, is the irony. So afraid of being treated like 'second class'."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and says "Ah think we have to, or our race as a whole will die off. Ah mean if mutants are the next step in evolution, eventually the ratio of human to mutant will be refused, and man will not be treated so well. If Mankind decides it has to stop mutants from being born, and more and more mutants are being born each yea, does that not end up with mankind not allowing itself to reproduce and killing itself off? People want to say Mankind and Mutantkind are two different things, thats hogwash. My momma is human no powers, some of my brothers and sisters have powers some don't. But powers or not they are family, and anyone who tells me Ah can't be a part of their lives and them a part of mine, well, those would be fighting words. The problem you find are those who are most vocal seem to be the extremes not the middle that wants to be one people

Alexis Carr has posed:
"... unfortunately, I know a lot more people who want to restrict mutants -- or anyone else baring powers beyond the norm." she quietly admits, "And it ranges from 'catch, neuter, release' as if w-you're feral cats or pest animals, to merely imposing restriction, registration and reassignment." she frowns, and examines the table. "My father's of the mind that humans who have militarily useful powers should be government-controlled and... bred. A Wardog program."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie 's brow raises a bit at the slight slip of the tongue. He will reach for her hand, and says "Is that why you don't let your ride know where you are when your working on the money for mutant house?" He looks into her eyes, his own showing concern.

Alexis Carr has posed:
There was a flash of fear suddenly in her eyes. The dark brown eyes go wide, and then narrow. Fear turned to mixed anger.

"You -- you followed me?!" she hisses, her fingers curling into loose fists. "Is that why you suggested the museum? What do you want? Hush money?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie shakes his head, and says "Follow, no, Ah tried to catch ya and say "Found you, teasing with the whole hashtag." He tells her. "I saw you go into the art museum and come out changed and leave in the limo. Ah asked about going to the museum cause it was a place we could talk but have fun too, and you seemed to like fancy things. Do I really seem like someone who would try to black mail you?"

Alexis Carr has posed:
"I... I don't know." the girl quietly replies quietly, curling her fingers slightly tighter, and then loosening them, getting a hurt expression, and then closing her eyes as she lets out a breath.

"I... I should go." she whispers quietly, her shoulders rising up slightly as she regards Sam. "If my father found out where I was he'd tilt." she whispers, and she looks to Sam, ".. and I don't want to see you get hurt."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and reaches for her hand again "Alexis, Ah think Ah like you, and Ah aint afraid of your dad or anyone being upset if Ah talk to you. Ah want to get to know you and see how we hit it off.

Alexis Carr has posed:
Alexis's hand pulls back, away from Sam's, and she wraps her arms around herself quietly, biting her lower lip as she turns away -- then there's a flash of a camera phone. Someone's snapped a picture of the two of them.

The dark-eyed girl's shoulders shrug up, and she reache for her jacket -- to the confusion of the waitres who was coming to get their drink order.

"I should go." Alexis states a little more firmly, but it's clear that she's getting agitated and uncomfortable.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie frowns and seems perhaps a bit hurt too. "Will you at least let me walk you back to the museum?" He asks the lady as she turns away "Want to make sure you make it back safe."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"... sure." she whispers, but she gets up to leave, digging for her wallet and just leaving a ten on the table, in spite of the lack of getting, anything, she reaches for her jacket. "We... we can talk on the way?" she asks, a little hope twisting in her voice.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie had been pulling out his wallet to do the same. He will stand and move to follow her. He for a moment ponders what he might be able to do to help. As They get to the door of the place, and says "Ah am really sorry Ah upset you."

Alexis Carr has posed:
Easiest table, most awkward date of the night.

"You scared her off! Now how are we going to figure out who he is?!" comes from one of the trio who was at the table the picture-taker was at.

And Alexis draws outside into the open, stuffs her hands in her pockets, and starts walking at a brisk pace... but not towards the museum.

"You... you don't have anything to apologize for, Sam." he replies quietly, "I'm at fault. I never should have asked you for pizza." she states quietly, turning and looking back up to the tall teenager. "You are an attractive, interesting gentleman, and I let my wants get ahead of really the wiser choice..." she gives a small smile. "You don't know anything about me."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie hmms and looks to her, and says "Trust me for a moment please?" He will move to lead her towards the alley "Ah'll make sure none are following us."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"You're leading me towards an alley and asking me to trust you." Alexis states defensively, and sets her feet a moment. "What if there's someone waiting in that alley to blindfold or blackbag me?" she asks, curling her fingers slightly.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and says "Ah am going to get us away from here, before the guy who took our picture gets out here. What does your gut tell you about me?"

Alexis Carr has posed:
"... I can't believe I'm going to do this -- but fine." she whispers, and turns to duck into the alley, already beginning to calculate how she could escape the alley -- wall bounce to the fire esccape was out of the question -- there was too much space between the wall for that. She bites her lower lip. She could hop that dumpster, get over the back wall that separates the dead end alleyway in case Sam attempted to lay hands on her -- and then she remembers a tiny little detail.

... Sam said he could fly.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will move closer and does try to lay hands onto her but gently in a hug and says "Hold on tight." and if she does, he does kick on the blast field. Luckily Sam is a better flyer than he used to be, and instead of kicking straight up into the air, he will head down this alley and another, and a third before going upward, in case someone was watching from outside. He will head over to a building near the musuem holding her close.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Oh bol--" the girl whispers, and as Sam wraps his arms around her, she gives a squeak, grasping him hard and up they go, arching into the air, soaring -- and then on the roof of another building. She exhales quietly, and stretches her fingers a moment -- which had been curled tightly against the sleeves of Sam's jacket, and she looks over the street, and she turns to Sam, and gives a soft 'whufff' of a sound, exhaling in a quick manner.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles to her once they landed on a building a good 6 or more stories high. "I could have went straight up, but I figured they may have had people watching from the front. so, who were they if I may ask."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"I... I have no idea." she replied in Earnest, and the young woman takes off her cap, letting her hair tumble down. It smells fancy, flowery almost. Sweet.

"I didn't change my makeup as much as I usully do. I didn't have time to stop. I should just... I don't know." she whispers, and just goes and sits on the ridge of he roof, turning to look over the city.

"You're a pizza delivery guy, you don't need to be pulled into the ridiculous drama of my life, Sam."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie walks over to have a seat beside her and says "Need to? Maybe not, want to to get to know you yea." He will offer her a smile and says "If it makes ya feel better, my friend told me you seemed like you were hiding something, and I told him you might but I would watch and be careful. Another friend thought ya might be hiding the money and such like she had done to meet people who are more trying to get to know you more than know your money

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Gee, the costume change and getting into a black car with a personal driver didn't make that part obvious?" Alexis gives a wry smile, rubbing the back of her head as she exhales.

"But your friends are right. I'm hiding a lot of things... from a lot of people. Which is about the truest answer I've given to any question for a long, long time."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over to her, and says "Well, how about this, you tell me a truth, I will tell you a truth?" He asks her watching her reaction

Alexis Carr has posed:
"You've been telling the truth the entire time." the girl points out, looking at Sam mildly. "I've been hiding half of everything... except where the money was going. That was pure honesty."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over to her and says "Truth yea, but not all. Ah have been known to use my powers to help people." He does not tell about others. "Ah find it important to help and protect people"

Alexis Carr has posed:
"So you're a superhero, yes, somehow I understood you were no normal pizza delivery lad." she states with a wry voice. "That... just seems to be your nature. You want to help others." he gives a small smie. "I can understand and appreciate that, Sam."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and says "So, your dad being against them, what brought mutant rights to your attention? You ok wish a mutant has held your hand, held you close while using their powers?"

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Like I said, I don't care much for bullies -- of either sort -- but it didn't sit right with me that after years of social uprising, recognizing each other as 'brother' that suddenly we're imprisioning others for just... being different. Having powers." she replies, but she turns her face away. "My father told me from a young age that mutants were bad, that some were cannibalistic, that they would steal me away and I'd be imprisoned forever, like some sort of boogey-man tale, if I'd misbehaved. But... as it is apparent, my father is a giant horse's arse who can't be sassed to much about his own business before mucking in others." she states with utter disdain.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and says "Well, Ah aint cannibalistic, it Ah was trying to steal you away it would be more for a date, out to a cabin or such, but never imprison you." He turns a bitt and has one leg off the building the other half Indian style. Mutants are just like other people some are asshats, some are good guys, some are just wanting to live their life and keep their heads down.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"I know all about people being... asshats." she ventures, using the word. "... isn't that just a pair of pants? ... shorts maybe? The missing part of chaps?" she asks, and she turns a little bit more to Sam.

"... but the important thing is... that's how I grew up. And I'm still working hard to change that way of thinking because it's so deeply ingrained in me."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods his head a bit and says "Well, see the good way to work on that would be give a mutant time to show you his side of life, your dad has had what 18-19 years, give me a couple saturdays in a row?

Alexis Carr has posed:
"But Sam, I might fall in love with you and create a terrible Romeo and Juliette type of issue where we both end up dead in the end!" the girl protests, throwing her hands up as she balances, and tilts back a little bit, one leg drawing out. "And we all know that nonsense is completely trite!"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smirks a bit and says "Or you could fall in love with me, and we fight the odds, beat all the hurdles, and your family learns to like me, and eventually our kids, and we are the romcom that weans the peoples choice award." He does keep an eye on her if he needs to help balance her.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    She seems well balanced!

"I'm sadly unfamiliar with romantic comedies that aren't sourced in 17th-century bollocks and writ in Italian." she jokes, giving Sam a little bit of a smile, and hen draws one knee up, setting her chin on it.

"Don't think the latter would happen. Former's far more likely."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and says "Well Ah guess we will have to fight and try for the best, cause you caught the part that was in both stories right?' He will lean in a bit closer to her.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Yes I caught that heavy insinuation and focus on the 'fall in love', except mine has us both dying and yours had us with oodles of small children running amok and my family adoring them." she gives a wry smile.

"So, are you /actually/ a pizza delivery boy, or is that your cover for superheroing?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles and says "No, I deliver pizza, helping people does not pay that well, so if I want a way to take a girl out to burgers or a movie, need to have a job, and pizza delivery guy is not to time consuming when not at work.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"I see." the girl replies quietly, and she gives a slight shrug. "Well, I mean if it's burgers or a movie, I can cover it. It's not as if anyone's going to wonder where twenty to thirty dollars went." she replies.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie says, "Well Ah am willing to trade off back and forth, but that does tell me something. You think it is worth us going out some more." He leans over a bit more and closer, so he can look into her eyes."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"You're smarter than probably everyone gives you credit for." Alexis points out, and he purses her lips a moment. "And I'm still weighing options, if I should pursue what I would like to be mine, or whether it would be smarter to set my desires aside for the safety of those I care about on both sides of this global argument." she raises her eyebrows, and leans her head back.

"When would you like your heart to be broken?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will lean in as if to kiss her, but as she backs away he does not press it. "Well maybe when Ah am a hundred and twelve, till then we try to see if we can make it work?" He will ask her with a bit of a grin.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Smartass." Alexis replies playfully as she leans back, and she draws herself out, and sheexhales, and leans her head back a moment -- but as sam grins at her -- she leans in, and just presses a little cheek-kiss to him.

"A hundred and twelve, huh? Think being a hero will let you live that long?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods, and says "Yea, I plan on specially if I have a lovely lady to come home to." He grins at her, and says "So, your dad got anyway to tell if someone is a mutant around?"

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Keep in mind until last week I honestly thought mutants could smell out if someone was a human -- I have literally no idea what psuedo-science bollocks my father's been teaching me." Alexis points out, and she moves a little closer to Sam, looking out over the city.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie wraps his arm around her, and says "So, want me to come out and get you for a normal date, and pretend to be just some private school guy you met?

Alexis Carr has posed:
"That would mean telling you where I live, and you possibly having to meet my father. I'm not ready for that quite yet, Sam." she replies quietly -- but does lean against him. Just very lightly.

"... I didn't mean to find you attractive, just so you know. It just happened."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles a bit and says "Well, I thought your music was nice, and you were hot from the first time I walked up to you. Did not intend to ask ya out at firstbut glad I am."
