The Odd One Out

Synopsis:	Allegra Caradenza doesn't feel like she belongs with the others in Xavier's mansion. Sam finds her, and attempts to reason with her doubting herself, and continues to show his patience for the recovering mutant hater.

    Allegra Caradenza did not belong here.

    The moment she had creeped back to Sam's room she had taken the shirt she borrowed from him off, smoothed out the wrinkles from the knots, and tucked it back in his drawers. She had hidden herself on the floor, wedged next to the bed, tucked her earbuds in and just listened to music, while eating an illicitly obtained pint of chocolate pretzel swirl ice cream herself, avoiding all others in the mansion. She was considering her escape, how to get back to New York City by herself and whether she should go back to Brooklyn or to the Hellfire Club to make sure Emma's rooms were set for her return.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie has come looking for Alexis, he has did a circuit of the school and not found her, so he comes to his room. The young man will step in and not see her he moves towards the bed to have a seat and hears the faint music from the earbuds, and leans over to look down off the bed to find her "Hey you." He says to her.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    Alexis has her hair down. She is wearing a dirty T-shirt that she had arrived to the mansion in the day of the mission briefing. She has chocolate on her cheek and a spoon in her mouth as she gives a frustraited sound of acknowledgement of Sam's presence looking over her, and then sighs.

    She pulls the air buds out, and then leans her head back a moment as she looks up to sam, wincing at her shoulder.

    "... you realize I very nearly cocked up your rescue party."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie shakes his head and says "Na, you did not, heck I think the only person who even got singed was Sabertooth and he is one of the bad guys. You did actually pretty decent for your first time in the field. Could have used a bit more info on what you were dealing with, but you did ya best and listened when you were told things.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "I got hit by Scrambler and by Riptide's bone knife. I was unconcious. Irresponsible of me to even presume I had any right to go with no training other than the few control sessions we've had. All because I felt bad for the wee badger being out of her sett and Emma being in danger." she states quietly, and casts her gaze down.

    "I'm a rich girl playing at heroics, Sam. You don't need someone like that around."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and says "Ok, rich, poor, that don't matter, you tried, now Ah will say if your wanting to help out more, we need to get you more training, but you had the thing that is the most important part of a hero hon, a desire to help, and can work on the rest.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "... I don't want to help." Alexis lies. "... I want to go back to being completely ignorant and living in my lies again." she tacks on, not looking up at Sam. She curls her injured hand against the mostly-empty cardboard cup, and she gives a soft huff. "I don't think heroics is going to be my bag. Maybe in time there'll be a cure for my power."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will move to climb off the bed, and get on her level. He takes her chin in his hand, and says "I don't believe you, I have seen how pissed off you get when people are being treated badly." He looks her in the eyes and says "It is ok if it is scary and you don't have to if you don't want to, but tell me, do you regret jumping out of that window?"

Alexis Carr has posed:
    The dark-haired singer levels her dark eyes at Sam, and she states:

    "I fully treated Gabby like she was a normal ten year old girl, and the concern she had was that the *others* wouldn't handle it as well as she had. Doctor McCoy is halfway to not needing a headpiece to play Mufasa in The Lion King. You've got a heroic heart. I jumped out of a window because my father wouldn't let me date the boy I fancied. There are *worlds* between what your team here has handled and what I have experienced, Sam. I don't belong here."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and says "And when I first started, all I had done was be coal miner, Berto was a rich kid soccer player. Scott was a kid from an orphanage. The only thing we have on you is we started younger. Now, Gabby and Laura, they are a bit of a special case, I will give you that one. You wanted to help your friends and my friends, danger be damned you wanted to make people safe.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    ""For who? For mutants, so that other mutants or worse can go and use our blood to create monsters? Or for the humans that hate us?" Alexis asks dully, and then leans her head back.

    "I love you, Sam, and you were worth jumping out that window for, but there isjust... so much. So much to process. I've never had to do this much thinking on my own before. It's always been study, practice, perform. No politics, no danger because I paid people to do that for me. And I thought I could try and Princess Jasmine my way into a real life until you tracked me down, and now what's happened? BErto doesn't even remember his team, he's frightened. Alex could have leveled a city block with his anger. Good God, Sam, all people are simply monsterous." she states, and she leans her head into her palm, letting the cardboard ice cream container fall.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie moves to take her in his arms and holds her. He holds her tight wishing he could protect her from the world. "It is a harsh world hon, there are things out there that are horrible horrible things but there are things that are some of the most beautiful things you will ever see. Ah have faith the professor will be able to help Berto, it just may take a bit, Berto is tough and nothing will keep him down. Yea, Alex's power like Julio's could do a lot of damage, but that's part of why we are here, to teach people to control their powers, but we are also here trying to help teach people to be good folks, and not to be taken in or tempted to be the folks who are hurting folks.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    Alexis leans her head against Sam's shoulder then, and raises her good hand to her face, shaking in his grasp, half in his lap, on the floor. She sniffles, miserably, finally letting the stress of the last few days just go, no longer in performance mode as she clings to Sam.

    "I'm sorry... I'm just... I'm just tired. My shoulder hurts."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie kisses her forehead and says "Lets get you some pain meds, and shut the world out for a few hours, and just be us here together." He rocks her softly in his arms.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    Alexis gives a miserable sniffle, and then gives a small nod before not moving, leaning against Sam.

    "I don't know who's ice cream I ate, but they have fantastic taste. Also, it'll take me a week to burn all that off."
