After the Show...
Date of Scene: 08 June 2020
Location: A Manhattan Club
Synopsis: After a singing gig, Landry catches Sofia with her wings!
Cast of Characters: Sofia Maroni, Landry Lugar

Sofia Maroni has posed:
It was a good show, really, and it got better once all the Wall Street types loosened their ties and kicked off their heels. Sofia Marion (stage name) was singing with one of her small combos, and tonight was blues night at a Manhattan club. The petite blonde is pretty enough, to be sure, but when she started singing it was like Ella or Aretha or Billie all over again.

The last number closes, the sound of Sofia's voice slowly fading away a moment before the applause builds. The woman takes her bows, gesturing towards the band first and then towards the tech board. Because both really made her sound (and look) good.

Landry Lugar has posed:
Landry Lugar had been in the booth for an hour before the show started, finishing most of his work, but stayed to watch the band play from his enviable vantage point. He'd finished off his dinner, head bobbing, and foot tapping along with the music. Dressed comfortably in jeans, and a black hoodie that just said 'staff' on the back, with a Treble symbol for the S, he would have looked out of place mingling with the businessmen downstairs anyway.

He gave a surprised, and pleasant smile as she gestured towards his booth, and with a wave of his hand over the board, the lights on her went through a soft round of pastels before starting to fade to black now that her set was done. "Good show tonight." He spoke over the headset to the sound guy, stage manager, and possibly Sofia's ear peice if she still had it in.

Sofia Maroni has posed:
Sofia Maroni certainly has her ear piece still in, and she gives a nod and a wink in the direction of the booth. The blonde is wearing a cocktail dress tonight with a halter neck and an open back. The faux leopard-print fabric hugs her figure quite nicely, giving a certain 'period' air to her as well.

The band starts packing up and the bartender gives the singer a nod and a signal. She speaks into the mic again. "Okay, everyone, Mike at the bar is signaling me that it's last call. Repeat, Last Call, for alc-o-hol." She grins, then adds. "Mike, let's have a round for the band and the crew on me before you close down." The bass and piano player whistle and clap. It's a small combo.

The singer heads for the bar to talk with Mike, then, and to settle up.

Landry Lugar has posed:
Landry Lugar flushed a moment at the wink, even if no one could really see him in the booth. "Right-O. 10-4." He started shutting down the gear, and tossed his control unit into his backpack. "Right... Am I forgetting anything?" He asked himself, slowly walking to the door the led down stairs, to the door next to the bar. He was forgetting something. His mic was still on.

He shouldered his backpack, and headed downstairs to brave the company, taking a deep breath, and letting it out slowly as he pushed through the last door, coming out just at the end of the bar, and giving a nod and small wave to the musicians and other tech guys. "Hey Mike... Um... Let's do a... ah... Surprise me. I've still not found 'my drink' yet, you know?" Which led to a bit of small teasing and ribbing from the older tech guys.

Sofia Maroni has posed:
Sofia Maroni is already there at the bar, more resting a hand upon it than actually leaning. She flashes Landry a smile, then looks from the young man to Mike. "What flavors to you like, Landry?" she asks. They were introduced a few hours ago. Once. She's got a good memory for names, apparently.

"Sweet? Fruity? Sour? Rich? Spicy? If you're looking for something that's smooth and good for sipping, try an Old Fashioned." She smiles again, then winks. "Trust me."

Landry Lugar has posed:
Landry Lugar was looking over the bottles on the wall as she was asking about flavors, and then to her as she said 'trust me'. "Right? Yeah. Let's try that. I'll take an Old Fashioned, Mike." He smirked, "Not an old fashioned mike though. Your fashion is just fine...." The joke fell a little flat, "Yeah... I'll shut up now." But he wouldn't.

He looked back to Sofia, "That was a really great show. Was like watching a period peice. You really know how to draw on those old school vibes. Closed my eyes for a bit, and could have sworn I was listening to records from the 60's."

Sofia Maroni has posed:
Sofia Maroni tilts her head a little and smiles back. "Some of those went back to the 30's." she replies. And there's something in the ways she says it, like she was actually -there- or something.

Mike starts fixing the drink and Sofia slips him a credit card. Just then her purse buzzes and she pulls out a phone. A glance at the number, then she purses her lips. "Shit, I've gotta go..."

And before anyone can say or do anything, those heels click-click-click rapidly on the tile floor and she's headed out the side door. Her purse and credit card left behind.

Landry Lugar has posed:
Landry Lugar gave a slightly confused look, and was just about to ask where she'd gotten her set list, when she was bolting. He left his drink at the bar, untouched thus far, grabbed her purse and card, and went to go follow her outside, "Hey, ah, Sofia. If you ever need a tech guy for a show, give me a call, yeah?"

He was reaching into his hoodie as he came out the side door to follow her. "You forgot your purse!" He called to her, slipping the card inside the purse.

Sofia Maroni has posed:
For a woman in heels, Sofia moves pretty quickly. The side door opens into a small lot where Mike and a couple waitresses park. Sofia is halfway across the lot when Landry bursts out the side door.

And he's just in time to see a pair of great, feathered wings sprout from her shoulders. The plumage shimmers with a rainbow hue, spanning about 20 feet when she flexes them out.

She hears the voice behind her. Shit. Ah well, no time to be subtle. "Thanks!" she calls, back taking a step into the air as the wings begin to flap with a great rush of air. "Hold onto it for me! I'll find you!"

Landry Lugar has posed:
Landry Lugar raised his hand to call to her again, just as the wings sprung out. "Woah..." He blinked, stunned for a moment. "Right... Yeah. Ok. I can do that. No problem. No problem at all." He held the purse tight to his chest, and watched her step into the air. "Just, normal, every day stuff." He nodded to himself slowly.

He went to wave to her, "How are you going to find me?" He asked curiously, "You don't even know where I live!"

Sofia Maroni has posed:
Now that she's airborne, Sofia really stretches her wings. Flapping in long, rapid, aggressive strokes, the blonde rises swiftly into the night sky. More swiftly than any bird ever could. Her laughter carries on the wind, as if in answer to his question.

Sofia is just a silhouette against the moon when she does a wing-over and streaks away rapidly to the North. Either way, it's doubtful that a woman would just leave behind a leopard-print purse.

Yeah, she'll be back for it.
