Synopsis: The Defenders plus Kitty Pryde raid the Hand in New York's Chinatown and find a trap waiting for them.
Cast of Characters: Matthew Murdock, Danny Rand, Elektra Natchios, Colleen Wing, Kitty Pryde, Jessica Jones

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Danny and Jess' recon had paid off, the Defenders had discovered when the shipment of artifacts were coming in and were on hand (*snerk*) to tail the van from the docks to its final destination: a warehouse in Chinatown just off the main drag. Indeed it's scary how close it is to everything, Colleen's dojo after all is only a couple of blocks away.

The Hand's van pulls up to the warehouse and a couple of men jump out knock on one of the rolling garage doors, the sound echoing into the night, then they wait, a moment later the door opens and light spills out into the street. Woolingsly is there, their Roxxon contact, and several other men, who step aside to let the van enter before closing the doors and dropping the surroundings into darkness.

Though the darkness is deceptive, for those who can sense them there's men roaming in that darkness, four of them in teams of two, black clad, with swords on their backs.

As for the Defenders they've come in time to see the van roll inside, gathered in an alley just across from the warehouse.

Daredevil is there, wearing his suit, senses roaming the darkness as he crouches at the mouth of the alley. "Four sentries, swords, two around back right now, two more headed this way," he says, before falling quiet and tilting his head. "Definitely more inside, hard to tell how many," he says, righting his head and turning toward the Defenders. "So, how do we want to do this?" Plans? What are those?

Danny Rand has posed:
Danny Rand was with this team, though in his guise as the Iron Fist. He wore his yellow and black facemask-headband and a pleasant mixture of sleek body armor and martial arts robes. He seems to wait next to Daredevil though, looking aside to him as he asks the plan. "I knock down the front door and I see if this 'Black Sky' is among the inventory. Try and leave at least one of them conscious so we can ask questions....which may be futile. Hand members tend to be fanatic and extremely loyal to their cause."

Of course, Danny may have been a really nice guy, but at times he was mainly a blunt instrument. He's straightforward and blunt. He's a warrior, so stealth and sneakiness is often an aversion to him unless its completely necessary.

"We can't play nice with these guys either."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Tailing the Hand through the city? That meant Elektra had brought up her bike for this. With an extra seat of course so she asks over her shoulder towards Colleen when they are riding towards their destination, giving some distance to the van. "When are you getting your own set of wheels?" some amusement to her tone. They had an advantage afterall in the form of Daredevil, that superhuman radar that could follow the van from the other side of the city!

Yet once they arrive at their destination it's game face on. She was dressed up in her 'ninja' garb, which meant the black and red outfit, the long sash about her where she kept her Sais. The mask that she was just pulling up to cover her face, hair held up in a warrior's knot, eyes steeling up. She listens to the explanation from Daredevil. "I am not expecting these to be pushovers either." she adds to Daredevil. "So better to keep your wits up at all times." so sweet, and she almost says it as if she cares who lives or not!

To Danny she says. "We should focus on getting Woolingsly." a nod towards the man stepping out of the van. "He is Roxxon, so we can get answers out of him." a glance to Daredevil.

"Some of us secure Woolingsly while the others infiltrate inside?" She says in suggestion of a 'plan'.

Colleen Wing has posed:
All this /was/ happening to close to her Dojo and since her last hand encounter and an appearance by her former Sensei, there had been many a sleepless night. This was an action against the Hand and if anyone knew what to expect it was Colleen; credit that with time spent in their ranks. Given what she knew she was about to encounter, there was a certain excitment to perhaps move one strep closer into securing a sense of freedom. Every blow dealt to the Hand was one more peg taken out of their presence in Chinatown, the area she felt as her turf.

"Yeah, trying to keep food in my fridge that does not come with a fortune cookie and the doors open to the Dojo. Not exactly thinking about wheels right now. Besides, clearly I do not need them." Her words shouted over the noise of the motorbike.

When they arrive, the young Sensei slides off the bike, moving to join the others gathered, following Elektra. She is more than likely the only one not in a costume, clothed in a pair of athletic pants and her favorite black hoodie. At least she is somewhat dressed in dark clothing. The hood is down and she has a black bandana on with a white "Hello Kitty" emblazoned on the front of it: So Colleen. As she appraoches it is evident that she also carries her Katana upon her back. "Just tell me where you want me. Point me in a direction." It is evident that she is more than willing to allow the others to specify the plan of attack.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde had been spending a fair amount of time at a Chinatown dojo. Having befriended the sensei while shopping in the area, Kitty had found a kindred spirit in the Japanese woman's sense of humor.

Though there were other benefits of spending more time there. It was easier to get from there over to Bushwick. And with recent events, Kitty had continued to try to keep an eye on the place. Sometimes going in normal clothes. But other times if she knew something was going to happen, wearing her X-man uniform.

A uniform she's had hidden on the roof of a building, though fretting whether anything might happen to it. Tonight, she's up on the roof for the dual purpose of checking on it, and also meeting up with her best friend in the world. He wasn't really able to accompany her to the dojo, not unless Kitty chose to reveal to Colleen parts of her life she hadn't yet.

And so tonight Kitty is standing at the roof's edge, scanning the dark skies looking for any signs of his arrival. Finally Lockheed swoops down out of the dark, trying to scare her but Kitty spotted his approach, if just barely. She holds out her arms, the little dragon flying to land in them and get some hugs from the human he has chosen to attach himself to. Kitty stands there, holding the dragon, and looking down on the warehouses that stretch out before her below, unaware of what is afoot.

Jessica Jones has posed:
Those who are not as familiar with Jessica as some of the Defenders might be, could be curious how she happens to be on scene without ever tagging along with anyone, but she still made it. Actually earlier than most. She's found a place of cover by the fire escape in an adjacent warehouse, as she answers Matt's question with, "well...I could always pretend I took the wrong turn in Albuquerque and ask them how do I get to Ben & Jerry's," okay, so she totally was joking, because her next suggestion sounds a bit better, "we can also have one of you guys attacking Colleen or myself, and ask for help, lure them out as they likely don't want trouble in the vicinity to draw the cops...I think it's probably best to draw them out, rather than take it inside without fully knowing what traps may be set in place..."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt listens to the plans while keeping his attention on the sentries. Feeling them drawing closer step by step. Time to choose was now, go in or draw them out. In the end Matt chooses a mix of both.

"Jess is right, better to fight them on the ground we know out here," he says. "Danny, do what you do with the two sentries heading our way and make it loud, that should draw their attention," meaning use the Fist.

"Elektra and Colleen, sneak around back, take out the guards there then go in for Woolingsly, he's likely going to be heading that way as soon as the fighting starts, he doesn't strike me as a warrior." He says hurriedly laying out the plan. "Jess and I will join Danny once they come after him and keep them busy out here. After we've dealt with them we can go in and get those artifacts before they use them to make whatever this Black Sky is."

He turns his head around the group, "Sound like a plan?"

Elektra Natchios has posed:
There's an amused twinkle on her eyes when Matt mentions the man not being much of a fighter. "You should know." she tells him, no mistaking the smirk under that mask. Old friends they are with that Roxxon corporate man! She looks around the 'gang' for a moment, expression sobering up and then a sharp nod of her head is given to Matthew. The plan sounds solid so she accepts without a fuss. "See you all soon."

She gestures for Colleen to come along. "Lets keep it silent, we will wait for the festivities to start and then take out the men on the back." And so as to avoid the sentries that are coming on their way she steps and 'melds' with the darkness, using what some could call her 'magic karate stuff' to begin sneaking through, moving between breaths and towards the back.

Making her way around she begins nearing the position where the sentries on the back are, staying low.

Colleen Wing has posed:
"Silent it is." An affirmative head nod given to Elektra as she moves to follow in the sneakiest manner that she can. SHe is not exactly Ninja trained, but she certainly does her best to not allow the approaching sentries to detect her, having to duck behind a small dumpster on the side of the building while Elektra seems to blend with the shadows. There is a soft whisper. "Pssst. I need to wait til they pass. I'm not that special." The sentries do pass and Colleen moves out from behind the dumpster, keeping close to the side of the building and shuffle running to catch up with Elektra. "So this is what it is like to be you." Softly whispered words.

Upon reaching the back, Colleen ducks down beside Elektra, taking in the situation before her. Her eyes fall upon the sentries and she exhales slowly, hand gesturing to the assassin beside her in silent communication now that they are closer.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Up atop the nearby building, Kitty ruffles her fingers over Lockheed's head. "Sorry I've been gone for a bit," she tells him. "But we can go do a patrol in Mutant Town, make sure things are copacetic there," she tells him. "Time to suit up."

The young woman is just about to turn and put on her uniform when she notices a bit more activity below than she'd have expected. "Hrm," she murmurs, though doesn't see enough happening yet to go into alert mode. She glances around to make sure no one is watching and then begins changing into her X-man uniform, laying some sweats and a hoodie beside it to wear overtop the costume.

Lockheed? He doesn't need to suit up. He just runs a paw across his eyebrows, making sure they look suave, waiting for Kitty.

Jessica Jones has posed:
Jessica looks over at Matt and nods as he settles the plan for the Defenders, she's never been big on being the 'rah rah' person, so she's perfectly fine not calling the shots. "You heard him, Iron Fist, you go do your things, and then Matt and I will bust some faces while Team Ninja does the magic karate stuff."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Whether it was his Jess' 'cheerleading' or his own natural enthusiasm Danny gets the party started once Colleen and Elektra are away and hopefully in position. Leaping from the alley as the two front sentries approach, he slams his glowing fist into the ground in front of them sending a shockwave that echoes for in the confined space around the warehouse and sending both ninjas flying.

The two sentries at the back, turn at the noise and quickly start moving towards the front, creating an opening to sneak past or to take them out, while inside the warehouse there's shouting in English and Japanese, before the door rolls open and men spill out into the night with a collection of swords and other martial arts weapons glinting in the light from the warehouse and rushing towards Danny.

In the alley, Matt's head is pounding after the Fist doing it's thing like that, "Maybe he really did punch a dragon," Matt murmurs to Jess, before the men spill out and it's time to act. "Alright that's our cue, Danny can probably hold his own, so lets take out who we can and try to get to the warehouse," then Matt stands hurls a baton knocking a man down and catching the baton on the rebound to lay into the next as he starts making his way forward.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
If there's something that Elektra can do well is to take someone out unaware..., or that is distracted by the immortal fist of Kun'Lun, deadly enemy of the Hand creating a new door inside the warehouse. Talk about sending a message ...

Elektra slides away from the position she was waiting on, against the side of a nearby warehouse. She waits until the men go past, and maybe even until Colleen calls on their attention (at this point she fully expects that's one of her normal tactics!) and then reaches behind one of the sentries.

It's a pity that she has promised to a certain blind lawyer about no more killing..., while in New York.., a garrote would do wonders here. Instead she has to use her own arm, wrapping it about the man's throat, the other under one arm to stop him from fighting it and then pulling back towards the side.

She looks towards Colleen briefly and then towards the back of the warehouse, keeping an eye out in case Woolingsly runs out that way.

Colleen Wing has posed:
There was something that had become known as "Winging" it. It was Colleen's way of doing things. There were plans and then there was winging it. It had worked before and quite frankly Collen had adopted it as an approach to a lot of situations she found herself in. Thus after the two sentries had walked past, Collen came oout from the spot she had been hiding in, standing in the middle of the alleyway with her hands upon her hips. She whistled once and when the two men turned she put a finger to her lips as if to notion them to be quiet. "Shhhh..."

It was then that Elektra struck from behind, incapacitating one of the men and leaving the other to blink twice and running rowards Colleen, if any reason to escape the striking Elektra.

Colleen simply stands her grown and when the man lunges in for an attack, a palm strike is given to his forhead sending him upon his back. Colleen walks over to him and peers down at the unconscious man. "I told you to be quiet. We are trying to break in here."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty slides her final arm into her costume and then zips it up. Plastic zipper. She had history with Magneto. She's just affixing a domino mask she only uses in public places where there's no telepath to blank the memory of her face, when she sees the man's fist glow and then punch with tremendous force.

"Criminy it's going to be one of those nights," she whispers to Lockheed. She leans forward, looking over the edge of the roof to see the men with weapons spilling outside. "Ok, so who is who," she says to herself. Though usually the heavily armed, secretive people in the warehouse tend to be the bad guys. Though that doesn't mean those opposing them are good guys.

Shadowcat darts forward, silently running across the air to the roof of the warehouse in question, while Lockheed takes flight, circling about up above in the dark night. She reaches the warehouse the men are spilling out of, and leans over the side to watch what happens next and try to suss out what exactly is going on.

Jessica Jones has posed:
"I still don't know that I buy it," Jessica notes to Matt as Danny sets the stage, and the game begins. Jessica jumps down from her perch, however, her strategy is remarkably different from any other Defender. As well it should be, considering she's the only one not dressed like a superhero or ninja of any sort. Dressed as she always is, jeans, leather jacket and such, she actually walks towards some of the Hand that rushed outside to check the disturbance. Her arms raised in the air as if surrendering, as she calls out in her peppy voice, albeit less happy than when she usually does it. "Oh my gawd, there's like crazy people with weapons here and I'm just a helpless woman...can you please protect me?" A strange plea to make of armed ninjas, who likely all things considered, look far more menacing than a single Daredevil with a batton. Still, it seems she made the call to appeal to them for help.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
With the sentries down the way to the doors and windows in the back of the warehouse is clear for Elektra and Colleen to make their way inside if they don't mind breaking a door or window. Inside they'll see the van, shelves of boxes, and Woolingsly, looking around as if someone had just vanished, and then quickly beckon to his pair of Roxxon guards who unlike the men outside, have guns, before heading for the back of the warehouse.

Outside the ninjas' attention is focused on Danny and Daredevil, as they're punching back, though a trio peel off to deal with the 'helpless women' who appeared in the middle of the fight. "You, get out of here," says one looking to step forward and shove her towards the alley, his two friends close behind.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"I am sure they will pay attention now." Elektra says to Colleen after she says that line to the unconscious man, clicking her tongue in faint amusement. She chinjerks towards a window and moves closer. "Going to flush them out towards you." And then she is jumping in through it with perhaps some recklessness to her. Just in time to roll on the floor to dodge machine gun shots coming in her direction, behind one of the crates.

She peers over one crate and tosses one of her sais that nicely lodges on one of the men's shoulders, making him fall with a grunt. Of course that also springs Woolingsly to action. "What are we waiting for?! Lets get out of here!" and being the nice person that he is he adds. "Leave that guy." about the downed guard, "Just get me out." and he begins to stride towards the exit, slowly starting to open the back door..

Elektra peeks again but is rewarded with another hail of bullets sent her way from the bodyguard that is left.

Colleen Wing has posed:
Colleen is left outside as Elektra jumps through the window to assess the situation. A situation that Colleen is completely clueless to. However, the hail of machine gun fire leaves her little doubt as to what Elektra has gotten herself into. "Flush them out towards me? Oh thanks." Soft words murmured to herself as the she quickly makes her way to the back waiting for the scared little piggies to try and make their way we wee wee all the way home.

She places herself to the side of the door, waiting for it to be sprung open, allowing Woolingsly to make it out into the night, afterall the other man who decided to spray another shot at Elektra was to more than likely be the second man exiting. As the gunman starts to follow, he stops, pressing himself to the side of the warehouse opposite the door and sricks his arm back in blindly spraying once more. It is then that Collen slams the door shot on his arm, spinning around the door to send an elbow to his head almost faster then he can let out a cry of pain from his crushed appendage.

"Mr. Woollingsly I presume?" She draws the Katana from her back, holding it out before her. "I bet you have a lot of questions. Like who I am? Yet, the only question you should be asking is: Can I outrun the crazy bitch with the sword?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Shadowcat watches from the roof as the fight breaks out. The sight of Daredevil in his costume sets the sides more clearly in her mind. She's just debating if she should drop down to help, when the sound of machine gun fire from inside the building and towards the back is heard.

She spares a quick look for the young woman who had stepped out and might be a bystander caught in the crossfire. But as it seems the men are trying to shoo Jessica away, Kitty turns towards the gunfire. She reaches up for Lockheed, who comes down to her shoulder so both can be phased as Kitty leans down through the roof, looking down from the ceiling on high to see what is going on inside prior to going in further.

Jessica Jones has posed:
Jessica is quite good at playing roles, must be from all the undercover work she undertakes in her day to day job. Looking quite terrified, she nods at the Hand guards who instruct her to get out of there. Well, she still looks in panic, and they actually need to herd her towards the alley, because otherwise she looks frozen in fear. Some tears welling in her eyes, as she allows herself to be pushed back towards the alley, "look out! There are crazy people with weapons! I'm so lucky you're here to save me!"

But the more she needs ushering, the more she expects the three men to close down on her to intimidate her on her way. Which is precisely when she moves with surprising speed, and far more surprising show of strength, as she grabs the two on the sides by their heads and uses them to bash into the middle's one head, from both side. With any luck, the sudden harsh smack to all their heads should be good enough to take all three out. Jess might not be a ninja master, but as Luke Cage proved on many occasions, sometimes brute strength does solve problems.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
The three ninjas, never see it coming. One moment they're shoving away the nosey bystande the next moment they're collapsed on the ground at her feet. Daredevil feels it happens and flashes Jess a smile, over his shoulder even as he kicks a ninja in the face and puts him down. "Way's clear to the warehouse, doubt they had time to get the artifacts out of the van, yet," he ducks a sword swing, then rolls, blocking with an armoured portion of his suit. "Probably not many guards left at this point either. Wanna," he decks the guy. "Go get them? Danny and I will hold them off here."

Though Matt's not the only one paying attention to Jess as a sword wielding ninja leaps her way.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Woolingsly groans when he notes the sword pointed his way. "Look, Miss. I am just an innocent bystander in the middle of all this." he tells her, sweating profusively from his forehead to which he dabs at with a small handkerchief. He even dares a smile at her, perhaps encouraged by the 'hello kitty' bandana that Colleen wears. But he starts to back away from her slowly.

As for inside, and with the second bodyguard being down there is silence within. The four shinobi still inside take that time to begin positioning themselves, two near the front in preparation to ambush whoever comes in. The other two moving to the rear and starting to hone in where Elektra is. They move quiet. And with quite the killing intent, no motions wasted, hands on their blades. Killers each of them.

For someone moving in from above though they certainly have an advantage on spotting those movements going in inside the warehouse!

Colleen Wing has posed:
Colleen extends the katana to the man in front of her, the point of the blade straight out and held in a wrist that has trained for years with the blade. Her words are softly spoken, no hint at all of anything one would consider aggressive at least in tone. "What you are is not up to you to decide. What is up to you to decide is if you want to keep your intestines inside your body or outside." She takes a step closer. "Place your hands upon your head and drop down to your knees and we can go with the latter. That way tomorrow morning the city sanitation crew does not need to hose off the pavement."

She offers a small smile, letting it tug at her lips. "You have until the count of five to do as I ask. Sometimes I skip numbers." She then begins to count in Japanse. "Ici..ni...san."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
A familiar voice and face from the back of the warehouse causes one of Shadowcat's eyebrows to raise. "Well," she whispers to Lockheed. "That was unexpected. Come on."

She moves towards the center of the warehouse where she can drop down through some shelves or creates and not be seen as she skydives into the warehouse, going down a few feet into the floor before stopping herself and coming back up stealthily.

Shadowcat focuses in one of the men at the back with a gun. She begins creeping forward towards him with quick, quiet steps aiming to take him from behind, while Lockheed darts up to land on some crates and watch her back, ready to breathe fire to discourage anyone thinking to get the drop on her from behind.

Jessica Jones has posed:
Jessica nods to Matt, "you got it, Daredevil," she says as she turns to head towards the van. Only to be delayed by the sword wielding ninja who comes to block her path. "Listen up, Vince Offer," Jessica speaks up, holding her hands up once again, as if to signal for him to chill, "I really respect that slapchop you got there, but rather than make a salad, how about you consider what will happen to your face once I melt it with my laser eyes..." she reaches to tap next to her eyes. "Ever heard of Superman? Well my eyes don't even leave the skull, it's really quite gnarly." She looks intensely at the ninja, watching for his actions. She sounds sincere, but then, maybe the Hand are just fearless? She did just take on three of his friends all on her own. So who knows.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Laser eyes? That gets a moment of hesitation, or maybe confusion from the ninjas, hard to tell with their mouth covered. Then he decides to throw caution into the wind and slap-chop Jess' cares away with his katana blade, until the cord from Matt's baton wraps around the blade and yanks the weapon from his hand, leaving the man going toe to toe with Jess on equal footing. All she had to do is blow through him and the way to the warehouse is clear.

The ninja seems less fearless now, perhaps wondering if he should have taken the threat about laser eyes more seriously.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
The two shinobi stalking towards the back really aren't paying attention to what is atop them. Too intent on their prey. So with Kitty moving in it isn't too hard to take the man out. Something that Elektra notes, a brow arching and she sliding over one of the crates. Friend or foe? Whatever she may be going to say is stopped as the remaining shinobi attacks her, she barely parrying the blow with her Sai, gritting her teeth. Ninja versus ninja! Whoever is the good one?

As for Woolingsly in the back he starts dropping down to his knees at the count of one. No need to go further for him! "Look, he told me this would work out and that there would be no further problems. What do you want? This is all a mess, I am not getting paid enough for this, I want out." he tells Colleen with a trembling voice.

A voice is then heard from inside. "'Hello Kitty', I am needing your help in here." Elektra speaks up, still alluding to that damn bandana! And because Colleen needs her hero name too.

Colleen Wing has posed:
"Who told you?" This time her words are a little more forceful. "Who to you this would work out with no more problems?" She walks up to the man on his knees and with her free hand grabs him by the collar and pulls him to his feet. She moves behind him and place the blade to his neck. "If you want out...you are going to work for it." SHe nudges him foward with her knee to the back of his. "You are going to call them off...and we are going to see if they care about your existence." She starts to push/walk the man towards the warehouse under bladed guard against his neck. "You work with me..I will work with you. You see...I can be reasonable. I don't hear you shouting...call...them...off!"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Shadowcat closes quietly on the one shinobi, delivering a hard kick to the back of his knee to drop him and then an elbow to his head to knock him out, leaving her crouched there near to the floor over him, looking towards the other man. He seems to already be closing on Elektra and further away, so Shadowcat looks back towards the van where she saw the other guards waiting.

She gauges the distance and then holds her breath and slips below ground, ghosting through the floor to approach them unseen. When she gauges that she's traveled the right distance she peeks just enough of her head up to see. She adjusts and then comes up beneath the van, for the moment just laying on the floor rather than phasing up through the crates and possibly damaging the contents should they be electronics.

Jessica Jones has posed:
Jessica looks concerned for a moment as the ninja decides to try his luck, but before she can react, Daredevil yanks his katana away and she stands tall. Grinning viciously at the ninja, "okay asshole...you made your choice, get ready for a full dose of laser eyes, coming right between your eyes!" Of course the cleverness of the misdirection, is he might be tempted to fend the front of his face, try and focus on Jessica's eyes to prepare for the laserly doom coming his way, there's a lot on the mind of a person about to be pulverized with the equivalent of Superman's heat-vision...which is why it's unlikely he'll prepare for the supreme uppercut of wrath that might send him flying of his feet, as Jessica gives him a solid one.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Jess' head games work and the ninja goes flying, landing on his back in front of the garage door. Inside, the guards by the van look that way, two plain clothed men draw their guns and get ready to stand defend it from whatever the hell just sent those men flying unaware of the young woman hidden under the vehicle.

Outside, Danny and Matt are still battling but for now at least Jess has a clear shot to the warehouse.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Poor Woolingsly was just getting to his knees, and now starts getting pushed back inside the warehouse! He stumbles a bit and starts going back in. "What..? I ..." and he almost laughs at it but there's no mirth to his tone. "I don't control them! I am just a Roxxon executive!" he then starts looking inside his pocket, perhaps a bit oblivious at the katana near his neck. "I will give you my phone. It's full of info on what's going on. You got no idea where these guys have their hands on!" clearly the man is panicking now.

Elektra falls back against the crate, frowning at the shinobi in front of her. She weaves to one side and delivers a kick to their front, sending them back to another crate and then lunges herself over towards the man, continuing on with her fight.

Colleen Wing has posed:
Colleen stops her forward progress, tightening her grip. "You never answered my question. Call him. Dial up who you answer to. Get him on the phone." If the man complies and as soon as Colleen hears a voice, she will take the phone and deliver a blow to the back of Woolingsly's head before striding towards the warehouse, sword still oiut and in conversation.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Like a Ghost in the Machine, Shadowcat slowly raises her head up into the inside of the van, checking for... ah yep! Keys in the ignition. A small grin forms on her masked face, and she takes a look at the positions of the guards nearby. With the other fighting going on, the inside of the van is probably not their focus.

Shadowcat rises up into the driver's seat, unphasing just her hands and feet as she turns the keys in the ignition and revs the engine to pull away from the guards the moment the engine has come to life. She can't help but duck a little at the sound of the gunfire that results. After all, part of her is still tangible. And that part ends up a bit bloodied as bullets hit the windows and shower her tangible hands with glass. She keeps driving though, pulling through the warehouse away from the guards and seeks somewhere with some cover to get the van behind for the moment, buying time for Daredevil and his comrades.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
The guards follow the van as Kitty drives off in it, firing at it until their guns click dry, then reloading as they try to give chase. They're not the only ones, two black clad figures emerge from the shadows and rush after her, moving swift enough that one is able to jump onto the back of the van as Kitty drives it to safety. The other one is following, running like the T-1000 in a ninja remake of Terminator 2. The gunmen though stop their pursuit when a quick moving Jess slams into them at speed and knocks them both to the ground before she slips into the warehouse.

The pair of super ninja aren't the only ones who notice the van, Daredevil does too, turning to give chase while Danny holds down the fort, sending a line to the rooftops to swing down and land on top of the van while Kitty drives. He moves quickly, dropping down onto the hood of the van, shouting, "Stop," having taken Kitty for someone working for the Hand trying to make a quick exit.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Woolingsly can't have a break. He takes the blow to the head and falls down, unconscious for the moment. The phone is picked up. "Hello, Colleen." the voice is unmistakable on who it is. Bakuto. "Seems you have chosen a side. It's a pity really. You are forcing my hand." and he didn't even intend to do that pun.

As for Elektra, she exchanges a few more blows with the other expert shinobi, getting a cut through her mask to leave a bleeding mark on her face but stabbing the man down. She gets back up, wiping at the side of her face...

... Just in time for Bakuto to appear near that open door on the back. He unceremoniously places a couple of shots down on Wollingsly. "Have the rest of a good life, Colleen." he states. He doesn't expect that it will be long, closing the door as cocktails molotovs are tossed through the windows near the back from what are undoubtedly more of Bakuto's ninja cronies.

A couple are tossed near the front, creating a fire curtain near the front where the garage door is.

Colleen Wing has posed:
That voice. It clearly is unmistakable, the very words spoken by her Sensei sending chills down her spine all the way to her toes and causing her to freeze in place. "Bakuto." A simple word spoken. It does not take long for Collen to realize that she is now inside a flaming building, the objects within it catching fire and bursting into flame faster than expensive. The phone is tossed into her pocket and she cries out. "Elektra!" She tries the door but finds it will not open. "Elektra!" The cries for help it ring through the burning warehouse, smoke starting to fill it making visibility less and less with every passing moment and making it hard to even spot a window.

There is clear panic upon on her face as she cries out once more. "Elektra! Where are you?" The young Sensei now apparently trapped in a building she can see no way out of. She stars to thrw her shoulder into the door as hard as she can, then tossing a few strong kicks at it. "Bakuto! You coward! You have no honor! Face me!"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
In the van, there's no awareness of the molotovs yet as it races around, weaving through stacks of crates. Shadowcat power slides the van in a curve around yet another stack. She glances down and sees a phone hooked into the van's hands free system, and unlocked. She hits the button to activate it and says, "Play East Bound and Down by Jerry Reed."

The van comes sliding around another corner, the theme of Smoky And The Bandit blaring loudly. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_sB6gFenUg) Shadowcat just has time to grin when she spots the fast-moving figures in the side mirror. "Oh great. Super ninjas," she groans. She steps on the gas, though one of the ninjas manages to jump on the back of the van anyway. And that distant warehouse wall is getting closer at a rapid rate!

Shadowcat looks in the mirror again for the second ninja, then jumps, startled by the sudden figure of Daredevil landing on the van's hood.

"X-man. No time to explain. Grab hold," she says, phasing a hand and leaning forward to reach through the windshield and grab Daredevil.

And then Kitty phases for all she's worth. Rarely has she tried to pull so much matter along with her. Daredevil and a van, and the contents. Minus one super ninja on the back. Shadowcat strains, letting out a pained grunt and then the van goes intangible just as it reaches the warehouse wall, whooshing through it like a ghostly vehicle and emerging on the streets outside where Kitty brakes and lets everything go tangible again. "Oh Lord I think I'm going to be sick," she says of the feat that was near to her limits.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Daredevil can sense the warehouse beginning to burn even as he lifts a foot to try and kick in the windshield only for Kitty to identify her as one of the X-Men and stick a hand up through the glass, without breaking it. The phased flesh pinging weirdly in his senses, both there and not at the same time Though as the ninja gets onto the roof of the moving van, Daredevil takes Kitty's extended hand and is pulled inside, the sensation of phasing playing hell with his senses for a moment, though as they return he can't help but remark, "Smokey and the Bandit?" head tilting slightly faint if tired amusement playing on his lips.

"I can deal with the guy on the ro-" the red clad vigilante begins before Kitty does her big finish, phasing the van and Daredevil both as they drive right through the building. Part of Matt is glad of his senses being skewed by the phasing, he can't 'see' the matter they pass through, he just has a vague sense that he's moving through something. Like walking through cobwebs.

Then they're on the other side, minus one ninja, and feeling the others beginning to clear out as well. Placing a hand on Kitty's shoulder, Daredevil nods, "Right there with you, but that's a hell of a trick, thanks."

As for Danny and Jess? Danny drops the remaining Hand ninja with another blast as the fist hits the ground, and Jess manages to leap from the still burning building carrying one more box, unloaded before the Defenders had arrived.

Through his hazy and recovering senses Matt can feel Danny and Jess getting to safety, which leaves Elektra and Colleen. "Can you drive?" he asks Kitty. "We need to find the others around the back, I heard shots before."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Smoke. Fire. Elektra turns her nose at this. They are willing to destroy whatever these artifacts are just to get the Defenders? But her own training comes to the fore. Moving around blind. She begins moving across the floor, paying attention to the noises around her. Sure, she is no Daredevil! But she knows her stuff.

"Follow my voice, Colleen." she shouts. "We will go out through the front." or maybe through a window if she finds one. And they still need to find those artifacts.

The smoke and flames start to flare up, some of the crates catching her fire. Whatever is burning up inside those is quite flammable.

Colleen Wing has posed:
Collen gives up on trying to open the door by brute force, besides her shoulder hurts and time is running out. "Okay. Follow your voice. Front door. I can do this." Quickly she starts to scramble towards the sounds of the voice, avoiding what she can of flame and objects. A funny thing about fire, it destroys things and in this case a stack of crates is compromised at the base, the fire having destroyed the wood causing the rest to topple down. Colleen is able to avoid the first, but the second manages to strike her, sending her sprawling and coming to rest on her foot. "Shit." Word muttered to herself. There is a moment of refelction and she calls out. "I am right behind you go. I can see the way out." Her hands push frantically at the crate, tugging her leg at the same time.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Shadowcat's stomach wants to turn inside out, but she does her best to focus. "Hope this was the right thing to do. Figured it would make a distraction if nothing else. Just stumbled into you guys," she says in a voice made rough by the exertion she just put herself through.

"Yeah, should be able to," the female X-man says of driving. She pulls forward, the van turning and coasting along the wall of the warehouse to the back. Before they get there, the light of the fires are visible, and the smoke is filling the air. "Oh no," Shadowcat says, driving around the back of the building.

Meanwhile, inside, as Colleen lies there tugging to free her leg, something is moving in the smoke. It seems to dart, causing the smoke to swirl even more as it spreads across the warehouse. After a few moments, a small form darts through the air out of the smoke to land at her side. It's a small purple winged dragon, with yellow eyes.

The dragon moves over to the crate and starts clawing and biting at the wood, breaking pieces of it off to help her get free.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Good," Daredevil says, when Kitty says she can drive. "They're on the back left of the building," he says. "And you did great, we were after what's in the back of the van and the distraction helped keep the pressure off us," he says. "What's your name?"

When they reach the back, Matt points at a door, "They're behind there."

A few moments later the van is bursting through the the rush of air causing the flames to rise and fall, before they pull back and leave an exit behind them.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Sure, Elektra could continue running off. But she can notice the tone shift on Colleen. And she knows the type of personality on the former Hand member. So she lets out a sigh, followed by a string of coughing at the smoke all around. She backtracks closer to Colleen. "No heroic suicidals on my watch." yes, there's a judgemental tone on her voice. But it quickly ends when she notes the .., little dragon? Maybe the legends of Chisai Doragon are indeed true...

But she moves to help, kicking at the crate hard to help the dragon with the work and then reaching over to drag Colleen out of the fire.

"Come on." Right on time for the van to come over. She makes her way over, helping Colleen along if she doesn't stop her and then it's time to zap out of here. She jumps into the van, closing the door behind them (and giving it just enough time for the lil Lockheed to get in too if he wants).

"Go go!" she shouts, still coughing out, her armor garb smokin'.

Colleen Wing has posed:
She did not remember much. The smoke had started to overtake her and consciousness was leaving her. So when the little dragon appeared to her it was nothing short of illusionary...or as she saw it, sent by her grandfather. Flashbacks of time spent in the mountains of Honshu, training with the man who raised her. She was as he affectionatly called her; his Chisai Doragon...his little dragon.

It was comforting. A sign. Her grandfather was with her. How else could she explain the dragon in front of her? Her hand reached out feebly to the dragon. "Ojiisan." The hand falling back to the warehouse floor as her eyes slowly closed.

She would be unconscious when dragged out of the warehouse and into the van, the last thing having seen being Kitty's little dragon.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty had pointed the van at the doors, already afire and the structure weakened. "Brace yourself," she had told Daredevil, followed by a short, "Always wanted to say that," before darting the van forward to smash into the flaming structure and make the hole.

Lockheed helps Elektra get Colleen into the van, grabbing hold of her and flapping his wings to lift her and taking more of the Japanese girl's weight than one might think the small flying creature could handle.

Once inside, a quick flap of his wings lands him on Shadowcat's shoulder as she backs the van out of the hole, doing a quick three-point turn and then driving off. "Best to get this off the road soon," she says of the van with char and soot marks on it. "Where to?"

She looks over her shoulder towards Colleen, concern gripping her tightly. "She going to be ok?" Shadowcat asks, trying to keep her voice from showing her emotions.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
There's a smile as Kitty enthusiastically and with a quip crashes the van into the building punching open a door for the women inside. The only reason he can smile is that his senses tell them they're still alive, once inside, Matt hops out, moving without problem through the smoke and flame to help guide Elektra, Colleen and a dragon(!?) to the van before jumping back into the passenger's seat.

"Out the alley to your right, then turn left," Daredevil says of the where to go, eventually leading Kitty to the familiar streets around the Chikara Dojo. Predictable but it's somewhere his friends knew and could defend if the Hand decided to come at them again tonight.

"Park around back," he says to Kitty. "And Elektra, how is C-" a glance to Kitty. "How is she?"

Elektra Natchios has posed:
With them finally back on the van Elektra rests her back against the side of it, head back and reaching up to drag the mask down from her face so she can cough at will. Once that is done she casts a good look at the driver, eyes squinting with that usual Elektra suspicion. But she moves in to check on Colleen, practiced hands feeling her pulse. "Just sleeping. She inhaled some smoke but should come back to herself soon enough."

In way of explanation she says to Matthew. "Bakuto showed up. Apparently he is part of this cell."

Then she finally addresses Shadowcat, asking in that refined, even tone of hers. "And who are you?"

Colleen Wing has posed:
There is a sudden gasp of air and Collen's chest rises and falls back down, her body lurching in thr back of the van as her eyes flutter open, but then close once more. A soft word murured. "Did we win?" Another strong cough and her body lurches once more before settling back down. She has yet to notice anyone else in the van except for Elektra right now. Her hand feebly claws at her pocket, fumbling the phone out onto the van floor. "8675309. I watched him put it in. It's Wooly Booly's. All his contacts." She laughs and coughs once again. "Remind me to call back Bakuto."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde follows the directions of the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, eventually steering the van into the vicinity of the dojo. She pulls the van down an alley and then into a parking spot around the back of the building, before putting it into park.

The X-man turns in the driver's seat, an arm over the corner of the seat as she looks at those in back. To Elektra's question, she answers, "Shadowcat. Just a friendly neighborhood X-man who happened to be in the area. The good looking one is Lockheed," she says, giving the little dragon a pat on his head.

Shadowcat's eyes peer out from her mask. Glad she'd worn it tonight as she looks at Colleen. "Does she need-" is all Shadowcat gets out before Colleen is coming to and gasping for breath.

Kitty breathes her own little sigh of relief before looking to Daredevil. "So, ah, what'd I walk into anyway? Besides a bunch of super fast ninjas."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Daredevil finds himself breathing easier when Colleen wakes. He hadn't lost anyone yet, and he didn't want to start tonight or any other night. "She's telling the truth," Matt supplies to Elektra when Shadowcat gives her answer, though he does have a question of his own, "Is that really," he pauses unsure if his senses are giving him an accurate read or not. "A dragon?"

As they check out Wolly's phone, Daredevil checks his own, having the text to voice function read it out low enough that someone who wasn't him would need to strain to hear it. "Iron Fist and Whiskey Girl," he remembered the joking nickname Jess had given herself. "Have gone to Whiskey Girl's, both of them are okay. What's on the other phone?" he asks.

There's a frown at the news about Bakudo. "Great," he says before answering Kitty. "These ninja were trying to make a weapon from ancient artifacts, we tracked them down and were trying to stop them. It seems it worked though I have some doubts with how quickly they resorted to burning things down."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"Just happened to be in the area, is it?" In Elektra's defense she has spent most her life being paranoid and untrusting. So she squints her eyes for a brief moment even if eventually she offers a bow of her head when Daredevil confirms she is telling the truth. For some reason she seems to trust the devil implicitly when he says those words. Then she says to Kitty "Thank you for your help back there." Is she reluctant about saying thank you? Well, it doesn't come easy for her. But she can recognize the help that was provided.

When Colleen comes back to the world of the living she shifts her attention back to the japanese girl, reaching to place one hand under her head to hold her up. "Good job." she tells Colleen. Though is there the hint of a reproachful tone to her voice? A look down at the phone and then she picks it up, putting the code in.

She takes a little time, going through messages, notes. "Bakuto has always liked following his own agenda." but then a frown. "But Wollingsly has messages about pick-ups on Gotham and Starling. They must have found out other artifacts in those cities to continue this." she looks up at Daredevil. "I thought I had undone their presence in Gotham. Apparently not."

Colleen Wing has posed:
Each minute that passes, Colleen seems to be regaining a little bit of awareness, tho she still has yet to sit up. "Did you just say dragon? I saw a dragon. I mena I thoughbt I saw a dragon. Is there a dragon in the van?" She tries to strain her head ot see but look like someone with headgear on trying to drink from a waterfountain and simple gives up. "We must be near the dojo, I recognize that neon sign." SHe coughs again.

"It is a safe spot..at least it has been. However, Bakuto has been there...a few times. I am going to kill that man one day. Not today. I decided it best..not today."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde takes the news about the ninjas trying to make an ancient weapon readily enough. "Right," she says, her tone not showing any disbelief. "They did seem to go from guarding the van to burning it all down quickly, didn't they? Any chance it was just a trap to draw you in? They know you were on to them?" she inquires.

The attention given Lockheed draws Kitty's attention back to him. "Yes, more or less. He's from kind of far off though. Not like, medieval times mythology dragon, no," she says.

As for Colleen? A little dragon face extends from the front seat on a little dragon neck, looking down at her from above. He says, "Mprhl," or something like that, yellow eyes blinking a few times before disappearing from her view back into the front seat.

"Well," Shadowcat says. "Want to check what they had in the van?" She looks back at the containers in there.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Frowning Matt says, "Guess it was too easy for this to be all of them," he says when Elektra says there's more sites where the artifacts are being gathered. "Might be why they were willing to let this one fall so easily, they had back ups. Either that," he nods to Kitty. "They decided to use this one as a trap." Which was troubling because it meant the Hand knew more than they expected.

"If Bakuto knows this place, it might be a good idea to be somewhere else for a bit, got somewhere to go? I can see what I can drum up if not."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
At the suggestion it could had been a trap Elektra moves to the crates, opening one. Shoulders tense up and the look she gives to the inside is telling. "Empty." she immediately shifts to another, opening that one. "Another one." she hisses out in frustration, slamming the lid back in.

"A trap, most certainly." She confirms, sitting back down on the floor of the van and reaching up to place both hands on her temples as if she had just got a sudden headache. "This isn't good." then a look to Colleen. A nod. "We can find you a place to stay."

Though she takes a small time to refocus. A look back to the phone. "I don't believe them to be aware that we know this info about the other cities though. Think Wooly had the info on his phone in case he wanted out, or for blackmail purposes." if the Hand could be blackmailed that is.

Colleen Wing has posed:
The dragon in her face causes a small smile and she manages to sit up, tho there is a moment when she thinks she is going back down. She props herself up on one arm, eyeing what are belived to be the artifacts. "They are empty. I knew they are empty. He knew I would come. He knew we would come. I saw how expendable Mr. Wooly whatever was. He beat him and left him to die in the fire. Bakuto did not trust him to oversee something so important. Sadly, I bet Mr. Wooly thought he was more important than he was."

She slowly rises herself to her knees and takes another deep breath, noly now assessing the full occupancy of the van and noticing the Shadowcat for the first time. "Who's she?" SHe looks out the window at the Dojo. "If he wanted me dead he could have. It is a game for him. He will not come tonight. No not tonight or not anytime soon. He still holds out for my return. I heard it in his voice."

Her eyes are simply staring out the window. "I will not be displaced. Unless you all feel it best. "

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Shadowcat stays quiet for now, the X-man just watching and listening as they go through the crates. She gives a slight frown but doesn't seem terribly surprised at the confirmation it was likely a trap.

Her eyes go back to Colleen as the Japanese girl tries to sit up. Lockheed is relaxing on the costumed girl's shoulder. When asked again who she is, she gives a small wave of a hand. "Shadowcat," she offers. "Heard... ok I'm guessing 'Iron Fist' was the one with the glowy hand that went boom? Him. Anyway. I at least recognized Mr. Devil here by description, so figured you guys were the good guys in the mess."

She looks towards the building with the dojo that Colleen was looking at. "Well, they just set a trap to try to kill you. Just my two cents," she offers, speaking with a bit of a lower tone and husk to her voice than normal.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Daredevil shakes his head, "No, if they wanted Colleen dead they would have killed her /and/ burned the place down, they were counting on her escaping like they were counting on us being there. This feels like a warning to me. They know we're on to them and they're telling us to back off," by the tone of his voice it didn't sound like it worked where Daredevil is concerned.

He nods, "Elektra's right though, they think this is all we know about, so, we should be able to hit these other spots and stop them from making their weapon."

He rolls his shoulders a little, letting out the tension and pain from the battle. "So, as for tonight, if you want to head home, then that's alright, you know Bakudo better than any of us, so if you say he's not going to come for you then we'll take you at your word," though odds are good Daredevil is going to stand watch anyhow. "And we should all rest, it sounds like we've still got a lot of work ahead of us," he says, before his attention turns to Shadowcat.

"Thanks," he tells her, "You and your," another pause as he struggles with disbelief, "Dragon, really came in handy," he says. "We owe you one."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"And he -really- likes dragons." The way Elektra says that doesn't seem so! Though with some avenue of pursuit to continue their battle against the Hand's hold on to Black Sky it means some of her amusement returns, instead of simply being the dour, upset Elektra.

Her attention then goes to Colleen. "You know you got a place to stay if you want to." she saying that in ways of offer. "No need to risk it if you don't want to." but as with everything, she leaves the choice up to Colleen. A glance is given out of the window, then back to Shadowcat, "We do owe you one indeed. If you need us you but have to ask..." she pointing at Daredevil. " .. him of course. Not me." a smirk. But maybe she can be persuaded to pay it back too one day!

Sliding towards the doors she offers one final glance at Matthew. "We will talk again soon to plan this out. Stay out of trouble till then." eyes lingering on the devil of hell's kitchen for a moment longer and then she opening the van doors to get out.

Colleen Wing has posed:
It appears that Colleen is dead set in staying at the dojo. Actually making a small effort to move closer to the exit of the van. "Thank you. Thank you all. I literally owe you my life. If it were not for all of you this evening I would be a piece of crispy bacon in a burned down warehouse that we had no reason to be in it would seem." She leans forward to Shadowcat and nods once." I don't know who you are, but i do hope to see you again. You are welcome to fight by my side anytime and see this through to the end."

She moves to slide ot of the van, moving a bit slwoly. "You are are all welcome to stay, I have the room and pudding cups. No really. Chocolate, vanilla and butterscotch. I think we earned them."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Daredevil turns towards Elektra as though holding her gaze for a moment before he nods, "I'll do my best," he says.

Then he too gets out of the van, stretching. "Pudding sounds good, and yes, Shadowcat, we'll give you a way to reach out, if you need us, let us know, we'll do our best to help."
