Cast of Characters: Kara Danvers, Diana Prince

Kara Danvers has posed:
The wounds had healed, but Supergirl was feeling them. The attack on Metropolis had seen her facing off for the first time with a fellow Kryptonian empowered just as she was, and she'd come up frighteningly short. She'd won in the end, but not without the help of the Titans. Being as strong, fast, and durable as she was did not leave a lot of room to think about her shortcomings but lately, they were all she could think about.

She'd made the appointment at the Embassy almost on a whim. She's half-expected to get turned down or at least put on a waiting list ten miles long. But she'd made it in the name of Supergirl - she was still very protective of her civilian identity - and it hadn't taken long at all for her to be called in for the meeting.

She is shown into the office, dressed in the blue and red costume that she's known for. She glances around as she makes her way over to the chair, sitting in it as instructed and waiting patiently. One booted foot taps nervously against the floor.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana has been busy in her own right, combative scenarios and all. Currently though, she's in her office and has been preparing for this meeting with Kara. When Kara arrives, Diana is typing out the last bits of an email that she sends off a moment after the Kryptonian settles in to the seat across from her.

The Princess is dressed in a sleeveless white top today that looks casual, but comfortable. A pair of red slacks adorn her lower half and her hair is styled elegantly and laying down the side of her face over her right shoulder.

"Kara..." Diana says in a tone laced with affection as she folds her hands together on the edge of her desk. "How are you doing today? It is good to see you again. Do you need anything? Water or tea?"

Kara Danvers has posed:
"I am good," Kara replies in that strange, Kryptonese accent that tinges all her words, "Well ... no, I am good, but I think I could strive to be better, yes?"

She draws the cape she wears up around to the side and lays it over her lap, wringing the corner of it thoughtfully in her hands as she speaks. When the drink is offered, she raises her eyebrows and nods.

"Oh, yes please. Water would be good."

She glances around once more, taking in the office and adding: "Have you read all your books here?"

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana watches the blond pull up her cape and and properly rest it over herself, which draws out a soft smile from Diana. "We could all strive to be better. Always and forever." Diana softly replies to the Kryptonian. At the request for water, Diana moves to stand up then and she walks over to the right hand side of her desk - passing by the windows - until she ends up at the small kitchenette area where she prepares them both a glass of ice water. As she prepares she speaks, eyes on what she's doing. "Where I come from, practice in the arts of which an Amazon is sworn to, is an unending exercise in always trying to better ourselves."

Diana turns then and walks back toward Kara to offer her one of the drinks, and then sits down i nthe chair beside her at the front of her desk. Diana crosses her legs at the knee then. "Have you had any combat training, Kara?"

Kara Danvers has posed:
"Not really, no," Kara admits, giving the cape another fretful tug - it?s a testament to the alien procedure that manufactured it that it doesn't so much as fray, "Kal taught me a little bit, but it was more to do with understanding how to use my powers."

She takes the offered drink, sipping from it and holding the glass in front of her mouth as her brow creases with a thoughtful look.

"But I never learned much about fighting, no. Kryptonian martial arts are more geared towards mental discipline than physical combat."

Diana Prince has posed:
For Diana this an opportunity to get to know Kara more, better, but it's also an opporunity to get to know Kryptonians a little better too. An alien species that's last fragments ended up here on Earth - of all places. Something Diana's not sure how she'd handle if something similar had happened to her in life.

The Princess shows a soft smile to Kara. "I can see how there is not necessarily a great need for it when you are seemingly invisible to most normal threats on this planet. No human can harm you, nor animal or machine. You need but subdue it. But... that is not to say you will not meet challenges ahead of you that may require you to know more, about how to move, how to grapple, how to subdue, better."

The Princess sips her water and then lowers it down to her lap again. "I wish to reform the training sessions at the Hall of Justice some time soon. I would be happy to include you in some of these sessions, if that would interest you?" She then asks, lofting her dark brows up just a hair or two.

Kara Danvers has posed:
"I - yes, I think that would be very good."

The blonde nods her head emphatically, letting go of the cape and letting it lazily drape back down again. The glass of water is carefully set down, showing perhaps an undue measure of delicacy - its clear that the whole world around her might as well be made of glass, and it takes concentration to constantly moderate her strength.

"As long as I am not getting in the way, I would be very interested."

Diana Prince has posed:
"Certainly not." Diana replies to the notion that Kara might be getting in the way. "You are the cousin of Superman." She says then, letting a grin momentarily appear upon her lips before it's wiped away again. "Having you at your peak potential is having EArth that much more safe from great threats, like we have witnessed of late. They are not going to go away, and in fact I only foresee them growing greater. There seems to be a tug of war of power that is only ever escalating. Though, do not let that make you fearful of what is to come. We are strong, we are capable, but we could always use more talented and good individuals, such as you, Kara."

Another quick smile is shown to the young woman. "Are you working with the Titans still?" She then asks of the blond before taking another sip of her water. "Do they not have a combat training program of their own?"

Kara Danvers has posed:
"I do not know. They ... eat pizza, mostly. I do not think they really expect me to need training or practice. I can talk to them if you would prefer, though. I know you are very busy here."

She picks up the glass of water once again and drains it in one gulp, setting it back down on the coaster with a sigh.

"I do not ... it is difficult. There are secrets I have to keep from them - or anyone. I feel dishonest. I would rather learn on my own until I can clear that terrain with them."

Diana Prince has posed:
The pizza comment makes Diana show another quick smile that comes and goes, but the rest is what she latches on to. She nods her head a single time to Kara's words. "That sense of guilt of secrecy is why I chose not to take on a private persona when I entered into the public play field of heroics." She responds, following those words up with a little inhale/exhale and shifting her weight upon her seat. "I spent a century watching from the side as global events took place before me, events I knew I could help in, but chose not to. Make no mistake though, I did fight when I needed to - or was called upon to do so - but it was not until recently that I decided to become a full public figure. And it was at that stage that I knew I needed to be upfront with the people of the world. Otherwise... I did not think they would ever truly accept me."

She pauses for a second before refocusing her eyes upon Kara's own. "Of course, our situations are different, from top to bottom. You must do what is right for you, Kara. If you feel that getting training from the Justice League, or from simply the Amazons alone is what you need... we can help you with that. You are worthy, and we can all see it." She tries to pay Kara a compliment there at the end, a good one hopefully.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara appears to dwell on that for a while. She drums her fingers lightly on the arms of the chair she sits in, tilting her head to one side as a thoughtful expression covers her face.

"Admittedly, I have an interest in your people that goes beyond combat training. I am the last of my people who remembers the culture of Krypton. Kal has learned a lot about it, but it was all from texts and recordings - he was a baby when he left, he does not remember any of it."

"Themyscira is similar in some ways," she admits, "Your culture is isolated and separate. An extension of something that left this world many, many years ago. I confess I wondered if I would find some sort of kinship there. That is part of why I asked."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana stands up after hearing this and she steps around her desk to pick up a tablet computer that was resting on the inner corner. "I should show you this, and get your opinion on it." She says then as she returns to the seat beside Kara's. When she settles down again she brings up the information on the tablet and offers it over to the Kryptonian. On it is a conceptual design of a building, and if Kara swipes down she'll see interior layout designs too.

"It is the proposed work of renovating a building near here. It is to establish a Themysciran Arts Center. A place where one can go to learn more about my people. A place where we, my sisters and I, can go to fight in public. To practice our ways in a venue that would allow the public to watch and experience it as we have. This would... let everyone feel a little closer to the island nation that I come from."

She smiles proudly of this. "You would be more than welcome to participate as well. We could teach you in our combative ways and you could show off your skills to the public. A great way to interact with the wonderful 'Supergirl.'" And the Princess grins again, more openly this time.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara looks at the tablet, eyes widening as she does. The design interests her, but it's the concept behind the building that truly seems to excite her.

"Oh! It sounds wonderful," she says, turning to look at Diana with a broad smile, "I would love to take part. If you ... if you think people would like to talk to me, I would happily talk to them, too. I already have a Twitter but that is mostly full of people sending me artwork they did."

As though to prove her point, she reaches behind her cape and produces a phone. The interface looks to have been redesigned to display Kryptonian characters, and she brings up her Twitter feed to show digital art of Supergirl in battle with Ursa in the sky over Metropolis.

"See?"

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana looks to the image that Kara displays and her eyes widen. "My... that is harrowing." She replies to it. "Twitter... I leave to a social media manager to take care of for me. I see its value, but I do not personally engage in it. I guess I am too old." She grins for a second again. When she accepts the tablet computer back she glances at it for another moment before she sets it forward on to her desk again. "I look forward to having you involved then, Kara." She adds as she leans back.

Her eyes back on Supergirl she smiles to her. "You are welcome to join us here at the Embassy i nthe mornings and evenings, as well. I have two sisters with me currently from Themyscira, and that is when we run our routines. Though we also go to a stables north of Manhattan when we wish to work with horses, or out in the fields. You are more than welcome to get involved with all of this, if it so pleases you."

Kara Danvers has posed:
"It is not too far to get here from Metropolis," Kara explains, airily dismissing the matter of seconds it takes for her to fly the distance, "I will be here every time I can. Supergirl things still have to come first, though!"

There's no denying the cheerful look on her face as she rises to her feet. So quickly, in fact, that she momentarily leaves the floor and hovers a few inches in the air. When she settles back down again, she splays both arms to draw in Diana for an impromptu hug.

"I appreciate you taking your time to talk to me like this! And those horses sound wonderful - I have never ridden a horse before."
