Cast of Characters: Emma Frost, Alex Summers

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost is healing well, though still largely confined to their apartment in the Hellfire Building. Still, she has the window in the bedroom opened (in the sense of the curtains drawn back, letting in the sunlight in. She is dressed in white yoga pants and a white camisole, and for the moment is stretching as best she can without irritating her stitches. Being in bed for days sucks!

Its nice that Shaw had given his folks the day off today, as a boon for something he had half mentioned to Emma in passing but she hadn't paid much attention to. The club employees who had to work today would get an extra day off later. Including the pair of Hellfire goons flanking either side of the door outside the apartment, guarding it relentlessly.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex has been attempting light exercise, at least...mostly walking and leg and arm work. He can't really comfortably bench press or anything that involves putting strain on his side at the moment, of course, so...it tires out pretty quickly. He steps out of the bathroom, the steam of the shower floating out after him as he's redressed, partly, in comfortable athletic shorts and boxers, but remains barechested, peeling off the plastic covering the bandages over his side carefully as he emerges. "How's it feel? Still stiff?" he says sympathetically, seeing Emma going through her own exercise.

Emma Frost has posed:
"Everything is sore," Emma complains lightly. "Stretching helps but I cant bend or do anything that will aggravate the stitches on or in my... waist." She sighs. "Soon enough I guess. Do you want to order from the Japanese place? Or have something brought down from the Victo--" she suddenly grabs the edge of the long dresser as the ground begins quaking. Alarms begin going off in the building. "An earthquake?" she asks. Behind her in the distance a glowing force encircles part of the city. The distant glow is visible through the window.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex immediately moves to Emma, widening his stance with the air of someone who has been in a earthquake, and immediately carefully tugs her over towards the nearest doorway. "Fuck, I don't know!" he says worriedly as he sees the flare of energy as well. "Is it an attack?!?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma glances out the window as she allows herself to be moved into the doorway. She looks panicked. "An attack? From who? Russia? Latveria?" She stays in the doorway with Alex, but glances to her phone as it jiggles off the nightstand and crashes to the floor. The lamp beside it is walking across the nightstand as well. Emma closes her eyes, momentarily wishing not for the first time that she has telekinetic powers as well.

Alex Summers has posed:
"I...I don't know...." Alex admits, holding her close as he uses a hand to balance in the doorway, keeping Emma close with the other as books and knickknacks topple off the shelves with tinkles and crashes, along with a painting off the wall as it shatters as it hits the floor. "It's...happening deeper in New York..."

Emma Frost has posed:
"I swear," Emma allows her ire to pique, mostly because it staves off the fear, "If this is Doom, I'm personally cancelling his membership." It probably isnt, because... well, Doom isnt this... damaging. She looks back over her shoulder out the window, and the shaking stops... but part of the city is now floating in midair, slowly rising into the sky. "What in the world?" She moves quickly, probably faster than she should in bare feet when there are broken bits and bobs around.

"Oof, ow," a small smear of red on the while tile by the rug as Emma's foot snags on a chunk of glass, and she reaches down to snag her phone... thankfully not broken. She calls up the news, her phone grabbing a Priority signal and cutting through despite the massive numbers of others using their devices and drawing data. "...mutant town? It's being scooped up by an unknown force."

Alex Summers has posed:
"Dammit Emma!" Alex says without much heat behind it, before he moves out carefully after her, frowning at the red but peering out the window. "Holy shit, where did that ship come from!" he says, craning his head up to peer outside.

Emma Frost has posed:
"Like a space ship?" Emma scrolls through the news, seeing in pictures and videos being uploaded what Alex is seeing firsthand. "Lex always says aliens are the most dangerous things and we should be better prepared to defend ourselves," she laments.

Alex Summers has posed:
"I dunno about you, but I'm kinda hoping the rumors about Superman being back are true right now though..." Alex says, squinting. "Fuck that thing is HUGE...." He glances over to Emma. "Anyone claiming responsibility?"

Emma Frost has posed:
"Nothing yet," Emma murmurs, rocking back a little to keep the cut and injured bit off the ground and without painful pressure. The door of the apartment opens, however.

"Miss Frost. Mr. Summers. Are you both all right?" barks one of the Hellfire soldiers.

Emma looks up from her phone. "Mm yes. Just a minor cut is all."

One of them steps into the bedroom, looking over the two and giving a curt nod to his partner in the main living area. "I will send for a medic," he says, already radioing up to medical.

Emma frowns but doesnt argue. She looks out the window, gasping slightly at the sight of the ship.

"Mr. Summers, Miss Frost.... please step away from the window, for your safety. We cannot be sure if they can or will target either of you."

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex frowns, looking over at the two, then reaches over to gently tug Emma as he starts to move away. "He's got a point love. Let's standa way from the window, just in case it does something else crazy and blows them in or shit." he says bluntly. Though he pauses to try and knock some of the glass awsay to make a mostly clear path to the bed at least so Emma can sit.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma sighs and nods, limping a bit to the bed and sitting on it, pulling her foot up to inspect it and frowning before removing a chunk of glass. Ow. More blood.

The soldier drops to a knee and immediately draws out a kerchief, binding and putting pressure on the wound. "Majesty," he mutters. "You should be waiting on the medic."

Emma snorts. "Its just a small cut," she argues. The other soldier already has a weapon to hand, watching both the main door to the apartment and out the window back and forth from where he stands in the bedroom doorway. They seem to be very serious about the safety of their charges.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex frowns, leaning over to see, then sighs. "...not too bad. Hey, you..." he says to the other guy. "Grab me the broom in that closet there, I can get this shit swept up at least..." He'll wait for the guard in question to nab said broom.

Emma Frost has posed:
The soldier nods, grabbing the broom Alex asked for and handing it over before returning to his watchful position. The lead guard stands, moving to the window and pulling the curtains so it's easier to see out than in.

Emma shakes her head. She is mildly annoyed she will have a shadow or two until whatever this is, is over.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex starts making the world safer for bare feet, making a path over to where Emma's slippers are and shaking them out to make sure there's no debris in them, before tossing them lightly on the bed fo rher and then doing the same for his own before putting them on, before he begins raking the mess into the corner for now. "Think we should evacuate?" Alex says, a bit grimly as she glances back towards the window. "This place have a bunker or anything in the basement?"

Emma Frost has posed:
The guard taps his earpiece. "Checking with the boss," he says. "I think we are going to have to move you, but Miss Frost's condition..." He cocks his head. "Yes. Medical will meet us there." He looks at Emma. "Can you walk, or should I carry you to the subbasement?"

Emma slides on her slippers, wobbly as she gets to her feet. She grabs the tablet out of the drawer of the nightstand and her phone. "I can walk. Alex, anything you need that you can grab in a couple of moments, grab. We may be down there a bit."

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex mmms, then moves over to snag his own tablet and phone, as well as rummaging in a drawer for a battery charger and plug in variety, before he wanders over to snag a shirt and pull it on. "Ready, let's move..." he says, moving up to Emma to rest a hand on her back lightly.

Emma Frost has posed:
The guards escort them down to the guard station and to the elevator behind it, which is curiously hidden and not the main elevator Alex may be used to taking. It is a much more solid and almost over built affair, and once inside Emma presses her hand to one of the panels, which scans it, and then she pushes a button labeled sub2. Once the doors open again, they are let out into a cool, but clean and posh sub basement room. The main doctor that has been treating Emma is there, waiting beside a heavy, round door that looks like a bank vault.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex hesitates only slightly before following everyone in, glancing over at the button, then raising a brow at the scene beyond. "Huh. VIP bunker." he says after a moment, following out, then seeing the doctor. "...I guess I'll wait inside then hon." he says, frowning as he looks over at Emma, leaning in to give her a peck of a kiss. "If you need me just holler?"
