Date of Scene: 23 June 2020
Location: An upscale Gotham hotel, in the swimming pool.
Synopsis: Swimming, chatting, discussing family and bonding... a good day!
Cast of Characters: Henry McCoy, Carrie Kelley

Henry McCoy has posed:
The pool at the hotel was excellent. It was a place that Hank would frequent quite a bit, assuming she wasn't around. He'd sent a text letting her know he was going to go float in the water for a little bit, in case she was free to join him. For the most part, he was left to be - strange as he appears. Not that he was anything but polite - but he's certainly an unusual looking guest.

He was floating in the cool water, fingers laced behind his head. His feet give little kicks, keeping him bouyant as he drifts around the pool.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
It was certainly a tempting inviation as warm a day as it had turned out to be in Gotham. After tending to some duties that were required of her at the Foundation she opted to take him up on that offer. It doesn't take her long to arrive, or to change into proper swimming attire. With a fluffy hotel towel draped over her shoulder she pads barefoot along the side of the pool until she comes up alongside the large floating blue doctor.

She's wearing a nice tropical print bikini herself at the moment, so suitably dressed, as she crouches down to dip her fingers into the water and give a little playful splash toward Hank. "You look half asleep there," she offers by way of greeting. "How are you doing today?"

Henry McCoy has posed:
Hank's eyes open slowly, not minding the splash. He had expected as much, at least! A smile as he spots here there, eyes on hers. "Doing well enough. Feeling really relaxed. Silvervine." He laughs, stretching languidly in the water. "It's so calming... the floating and the... well, mental floating." He snickers.

"You look amazing. Coming in? The water is the perfect temperature for today... nice and cool to take the edge off of the heat." There are quite a few towels on one of the chaise lounges, likely brought by the man to help with the drying off.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley can only chuckle at the mention of the silvervine. "Oh no, I've created a monster," she quips even as she stands with a nod. "Of course I'm joining. It's the perfect day for a swim," she has to agree as she turns around to add her own towel to the pile near his. With that done she stretches her arms overhead a single time eliciting a little groan as stiff muscles stretch out. There's a hint of bruising on her back but it's faded to the point of being barely noticable.

"I'm glad it's allowed you to relax though. You deserve it." Grinning again she strides to the edge of the pool only to crouch, and dip herself in by pushing off the edge. Not so much a splash as a blip in the water.

Henry McCoy has posed:
He is looking at her, and he's not unobservant. "Rough night at the office?" He wonders, nodding to her with a smile. "And no, not a monster. Just a relaxed Hank." Henry assures, watching her enter the pool. He slowly rolls to be more upright in the water, big hands sweeping through the water to move him a bit closer.

"Thank you for the gifts, I don't know if I've said it enough. Thank you for being there, and helping me. It's.... awesome of you." He offers over. "Oh! I saw your brothers at Stephanie's party..." There's a grin.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Just a bit of a runaround," Carrie responds with a wry grin of her own at the mention of the office. The cool water was quite welcome as she relaxes treading water slowly. When he shifts around to thank her for the gifts, and her time, she gives a little shake of her head. "I'm just glad I could help some way. I wasn't about to run off and let you deal with it on your own. Especially since we were just starting to really get to know one another. Might not have seen you again." Her smile is genuine as she regards him. At least until that last part.
Hers look of chagrin creeps over her along with a groan. "They mentioned. I'm so sorry you had to deal with the lot of them by yourself. They can be a real handful, especially when they start going at one another. I swear I try to keep the peace more often than anything." Uncertainly she asks, "They weren't too horrible to you were they?"

Henry McCoy has posed:
There's another grin and a shrug. "They were all very nice folks. Protective of you, but not pushy. I see what you meant about Damian, though." He doesn't push about the healing bruises. "He was... pretty awkward socially, especially when Tim was talking to the young lady he'd arrived with." He dips his head back, getting his hair wet again.

"I could empathize with Tim, honestly. He has the same ... nervousness I do." A chuckle.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley reaches up to pinch the bridge of her nose. "Yeah... He's probably a genius but he has no real social skills," she admits with a sigh. Oh well. At least no one got stabbed. That was a bonus. "And Tim tends to focus mostly on his own projects usually. He and Stephanie were dating for awhile years ago, that's how I met her, but it was more her work on it than him."

Henry McCoy has posed:
Hank nods at that. "He seems quite intelligent." He agrees, regarding Damian. "It looked like Stephanie and Roberto were doing well. I'm really glad to see that, honestly." A look of relief is quite apparent on his face. "Tim seemed to be courting a woman named Rose?" A slight shrug.

A laugh at the stabbing comment. "Is that a common thing? I mean, Rose tossed Damian in the pool, then Tim did the same once he'd climbed out." A snicker.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley tilts her head at the mention of Rose only to frown thoughtfully. "Not anyone I'm familiar with... But he has been socializing with a group he met recently. She could be part of that. Some kind of gaming club," she puts forth only to suck in a quick breath before dunking down into the water.

Lies. They came so easily but she didn't really want to lie to him. A quick dunk helps to clear her head momentarily and she rises again to sweep her hands through her hair slicking it back. A smile is flashed toward him anew. "Oh the stabbing? Just an inside joke among all of us, really. Damian likes to make threats when he's embarassed."

Henry McCoy has posed:
It slips by him - no notice on Hank's part. "She seemed... direct." A chuckle and a shrug. "I didn't speak to her much." Ah well! He paddles in place, lazily - clearly enjoying the water and the company.

"He can be embarassed? It seemed like Tim was on the receiving end there." A snicker. "Poor guy. Worked out for him in the end, he got up the courage to ask for a kiss."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley grins broadly at that. "Well that's good! Tim needs a push now and then I think," she admits. Slowly treading water she allows herself to relax. "He hides a lot of his emotions behind anger or mockery. But I've seen him otherwise... He's really very emotional, he just doesn't know how to express himself. And that's not just the few semesters of psychology talking," she explains quietly.

"He feels like he has to prove himself against his brothers. Brothers he didn't know he had until his mom dropped him off. Going from being an only child to one of five..." Her head shakes. "But that's them. Brotherly issues. I get along with most of them other than the occasional argument."

Henry McCoy has posed:
Floating around in the water, Hank listens to the explanation and the thoughts quietly. "I suppose so. I imagine it'd be tricky adding yourself to an existing family." He says, after a few moments of thought. "I mean, I am certain it was difficult for most of Mr. Wayne's children, yes?" Eyes look to her.

"They all seem like good people, so hopefully the brotherly spats stick to just that. It'd be a rather dull family if there weren't good natured arguements." A wry grin. "I am sure my chosen family would agree. Mostly." He snickers.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley chuckles a bit at that. "I suppose I lucked out being the only girl in that aspect. I didn't have to fight with the boys for my place. Though by that point Dick was already almost out on his own, and Jason and I arrived around the same time. Him just shortly before me." Lightly clearing her throat she shakes her head quickly. "That's a story for another day though. They're all good people, yeah. Just personality issues... but we're all family. Dysfunctional like we ought to be," she adds with a wry grin looking over his direction.

"Everyone I've met that you know has been good as well. Guess we've got great taste in people, hm?" She adds with a light tease.

Henry McCoy has posed:
The Beast nods. "Stories are better parsed out over time - that way I get to ensure I get to see you in the future." He waggles his brows, grinning cheekily. "Personality issues seem to be at the core of human beings. It's a matter of finding the right people that can accept the differences."

At the mention of the taste, he beams. "I have great taste, my dear lady. I hang out with you."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley skims closer in the water, treading carefully so that she doesn't sink or bump into him. Not too much. "That's true," she admits with a broad grin. "You're not so bad for hanging out with yourself." With that she leans up to give his cheek a quick kiss before skirting away again. "I think I may be getting all wrinkly now though."

Henry McCoy has posed:
That was unexpected. "I take that as the highest compliment." He offers, still a bit stunned by the kiss. "Thank you." Hank beams, motioning to the ladder. "You're.... welcome to stay over, if you like? Mi casa es su casa." A slight blush - obvious by his body language.

"I... really enjoyed having you there that first night at the hotel. You are very calming - plus... cuddling is always wonderful."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley climbs out of the pool only to pause looking back over her shoulder toward him. Grinning broadly, and blushing a bit herself, she gives a nod of agreement. "I think I'd like that. It was rather nice for me as well," she admits quietly. "But first... Drying off. And perhaps a snack," she reasons as she heads for the towels.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Ever the theatrical, Henry vaults out of the pool - careful to not splash her or her towels. "That sounds amazing, Carrie." There a mixture of joy and relief there. "We can order room service and relax. I promise to give myself a thorough once-over with the hairdryer, as well." He winks.
