Cast of Characters: Kitty Pryde, Rogue, Hope Summers, Jean Grey, Lorna Dane, Gabby Kinney, Alex Summers, Roberto da Costa, Kurt Wagner, Laura Kinney, Rachel Summers, Douglas Ramsey

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde wanders around the front yard. She's wearing jeans and a thick sweatshirt that seems enough to hold off the cold without a coat on. Her hair in a ponytail, but it's beneath a Chicago Cubs cap.

To some it might seem like she's dazed and confused. Or possibly high, given how she's kind of wandering around aimlessly, and looking up mostly rather than where she's going. Turning this way and that with her eyes skyward as if tracking something visually.

She does avoid walking into a tree she moves over to try to get a better view of... whatever she's looking at. Right now she's looking towards the roof of the school and shading her eyes to try to see better. "No fair, I lost sight of you!" she calls out loudly.

What on earth is she watching?

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is up in the sky. She's been practicing her flying as much as she can to increase her dexterity in the air and when she was up there today doing it, she got a tail on her - so to speak - in the form of a purple dragon.

With a big grin, the Belle started to fly faster and add more loop'da'loops to her patterns, both vertical and horizontal to try to see if the Dragon could keep up with her. The two of them vanished over the school and out of Kitty's sight for a couple minutes before the Belle comes soaring back around the eastern wing walls and back into Kitty's sight, with the dragon hot on her rear!

"He's fast!" She calls out down to Kitty. "But not fast enough!" A second later and the southern gal is soaring between two trees above Kitty's head and causing a wake of wind to whip through the branches!

Hope Summers has posed:
Hope's arrival in this world did not go smoothly. The last thing she remembers...fire, and heat, and 'no more Phoenix.' And then falling. And then the //landing//. The landing might have been the worst of it. But something here...

Hope has timeslid enough times to know what that feels like, and this didn't feel like that. This //world// didn't feel like that. It smelled wrong. The weather was wrong. Something was different. And if there's one thing that was drilled into her early and often, it was that if she was ever displaced, she should head for Xavier's.

The girl heading up the walk doesn't really look like she belongs here. In a green and gold bodysuit, with a sort of tattered wrap/cape/hood thing over her head and shoulders, she steps carefully, eyes narrowed at the fully intact building ahead of herself. She must be cold, but she doesn't show it.

She looks up as Rogue shoots overhead, brows furrowing into a frown.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean comes out of the mansion, looking up as Rogue and Lockheed go through their flying lessons. "Everything okay, I thought I sensed..." She pauses, and then looks over towards the stranger coming up the path.

And well, green and gold bodysuit, red hair, and a fairly familiar stance...

Jean's still processing Rachel's appearance, so her first initial reaction is well, denial might be a good way to describe it, as she points, "Um, who is that? Please tell me I'm not the only one that sees her?"

Lorna Dane has posed:
Soda and cupcakes were left behind along with cold pizza in the kitchen. Jean's abrupt departure had sparked old instincts in Lorna's mind, and her training kicked in. Regardless on whether or not she was of sound mind and able to handle combat.. Lorna came. Lorna followed and trailed after Jean's figure until she stood outside and immediately regretted not having grabbed a coat or putting her shoes on.

The green haired woman squeaked in the doorway leading out and shifted to grab someone else's oversized jacket to throw on over the black turtleneck and ripped jeans she was wearing.

A glance was spared for Alex, seeing if the younger, newer Summers was going to follow her or not.

"Jeanie, what's going on?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Technically, Gabby wasn't reeeeally supposed to be out and about on the school grounds, but the medical personelle were currently running a few tests on Bellona per Logan's request. Which meant Gabby was bo-ored. When everyone was busy she'd slipped out to explore. She hadn't meant to go far but she caught sight of what appeared to be a dragon flying out the window. A small one, but a dragon. It takes her a few minutes to find a front door--Wait, no, she didn't wait that long. After prying open a window on the front of the building she hops down to the ground at a half-dash to join those few already gathered.

"Did I see a dragon!? I thought I... Oh, hi," she offers in greeting to Jean as she comes skidding to a halt by the somewhat familiar woman. The small Laura-look-alike glances up toward her, then Lorna as she joins, and then over toward the far off woman approaching.

"Isn't that the girl that fire-slapped Logan?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty hasn't noticed Hope at first. She's laughing as she watches Rogue zoom past with the little purple dragon fast on her heels. "I don't know if you can outrun him in a straight line, but he can do a 180 on a dime practically without losing speed," Kitty warns Rogue with a yell up to her. Indeed, the nimble little dragon has confounded numerous attackers trying to gun him down out of the sky.

That's when Jean comes out and Kitty's attention is diverted down the drive to where Hope is at. "Huh," she comments quietly, eying the wreckage of Hopes bodysuit. Not the kind of thing people usually wear to the mall. And there's still a small crater in the backyard where Rachel landed in an even more tattered state.

Kitty forgets the aerial pursuit and jogs over to join Jean. "Um, is this one of..." she starts to say and then decides 'one of yours' might not be the best thing to say at the moment, "... an unannounced guest," Kitty amends. She walks forward towards Hope slowly, wanting, should it be an attack, for it to be directed first at the person most able to not be hit by it. "Hello," Kitty offers to Hope in a friendly enough tone. "Are you ok? You look a little beat up. What brings you by here?" she asks.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue flies over Hope while Kitty shouts after her. She notes Hope's attire though and can tell that 'fun times' might be a bit dead in the sky as it were if something 'bad' was about to unfold on the ground. So with a sweep around to holds her hands up and slow the dragon down, Rogue motions him toward Kitty. "Come on, Purple Nurple." She tells the winged one.

Rogue shoots back down out of the sky then and swoops back in the opposite direction to where she sees Kitty walking toward the others coming outside and with an unceremoniously drop out of the sky, Rogue jogs a few steps in the grass before stopping. Her hair is a poofy wild mess of dark browns and snow whites around her shoulders, her gloved hands are stuffed into the side pockets of her dark gray Xavier's School hoodie and her eyes go over to watch Hope. She's new here herself, so she doesn't speak up, just watches!

Hope Summers has posed:
As she draws close enough to get a clear view of the people out front, Hope draws down the hood of her cape, giving them all searching looks. Whatever she sees, she doesn't look like she's thrilled with it. Oddly enough, the only one that //really// gives her a moment of surprised pause is Gabby, though she covers it well. A brief grimace crosses her features before she takes in a deep breath. "Hey. Sorry. This is weird, and I promise I get it, but before I say anything, I've got to ask you a question."

Bracing herself, she looks among the group before finally settling on Kitty as the least disturbed looking. "What year is it?"

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean Grey pulls herself together, barely, but she's a X-Man. And well, she feels a little judged by the stranger's glance, so she says, "The year is 2020. March 1st, to be precise."

She pauses, then continues, "I'm Marvel Girl..." and there's an inward wince, she needs to //really// change her codename, but anyway, "... and you are?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney glances among everyone here just watching as the various individuals older than her decide how to handle this newcomer. Kitty was approaching being the one to speak so she just kind of stands where she is. Even if Hope's adjusting of her hood causes her to dip her head a little lower and to one side trying to peer beneath. But she's the smallest and least threatening one here, right? So peering isn't going to really be an issue.

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna stepped toward the red head she knew, coming up alongside Jean and feeling her toes go numb from the still very cold grass. She shivered, not used to the colder temperatures of New York anymore. She had spent too much time in tropical Genosha, and she was //cold//.. Even if most natives considered it a nice day.

She kept silent, but her gaze was busy swinging from around the unfamiliar faces around her and back to Jean. Part of her feeling particularly useless standing there, but needing to be there all the same. The strange on the lawn had drawn Jean outside by her presence, ergo, that someone had to be important enough to merit that.

Even if it was too cold for Lorna's liking and she'd rushed out without shoes.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex...totally has no idea what's going on. "This place is weird..." he mutters to himself, folding his arms across his chest as he observes, having followed Jean and Lorna outside at the mess, then shakes his head and starts heading that way. Hey, he doesn't know a lot of first aid, but maybe enough to help?

Also, looking around, wow he feels both outnumbered and slightly intimidated by the number of models who apparently attend the school. This is something he wisely doesn't actually verbalize around said women, and is hoping that Jean doesn't pick it up since she's distracted and hopefully not reading his mind.

Because beautiful redhead with mind reading powers is just unfair and...right, Baby Shark song. He's just going to singing the Baby Shark song in his head for a bit.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde gives a little nod at what Jean said in confirmation of the year. "Actually, not as odd of a question around here as you might think," Kitty says gently. She adds to Jean's question, "Who are you? And... where is that you come from? We're a pretty understanding bunch about such things," Kitty says in a reassuring way.

With Rogue no longer providing a target for Lockheed to chase, the little purple dragon flies over to land on Kitty's shoulder. He looks at Hope, yellow eyes without pupils looking her over. Kitty glances at the small dragon and back to Hope. "Understanding about all sorts of things, actually," she says as Lockheed's presence will attest to.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue just walks over to her stuff that is sitting on one of the stone walls around a garden plot and she starts to go through her backpack while she listens to the others talking to Hope and Jean.

'This place is weird.' She thinks to herself while digging her phone out of the inside of the backpack and checking it, checking for messages to meetup with someone later.

As she listens though she pulls her backpack off of the stone wall and slips it over one shoulder, then leans back against it as she slides her phone into the front side pocket of her jeans on her right hip. Her hands go down in front of her, gloved in tight dark green material. She just watches... watches... judgin' e'erbody. Especially Lorna.

Hope Summers has posed:
"Oh, you have got to be-" When Jean answers her question, Hope turns away long enough to kick at the gravel with a growl and a string of muttered curses that would do Wolverine proud. "That," muttergrumble, "Stupid bird," snarlgrowl, "Sent me," razamafraz, "Not even the right //UNIVERSE//."

With her back to the others, she holds her hands out to her sides, going still. "This is fine. It's fine. Everything is fine." A deep breath, and she turns back around, pasting on a painfully forced smile. "I'm Hope. And I'm //so// not from around here that I'm betting it really doesn't matter what I say because I can't even break this. Super. I mean, actually, that is super, because breaking timelines is bad, but...Yeah. Wow. You guys are..."

The forced smile fades, turning into a bemused look. "You guys are //really// young." Says the malnourished teen. "Seriously? 2020?"

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna stuck by Jean, though as Alex came running out her gaze shifting back to the Summers man, and arched a brow. She didn't say anything reassure him, mostly because she wasn't sure enough about what was going on to help anyone. Still his presence was noted at least. Her green eyed gaze swung back to Hope as the young woman swore up a storm and then some.

"Young? What?" She frowned, crossing her arms and shivering again. Mentally cursing how damn cold it got in New York. Why did it have to be so freaking //cold//.

She was so focused that she completely missed Rogue's judgemental stare. Sure she was barefoot.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Clearly this is where the action is, so naturally Roberto is drawn to it. The Brazilian youth wanders out of the mansion dressed in jeans and a football (I mean *sigh* soccer) jersey, cocking his head at well... a lot of new faces. He'd been away for a bit and since then it seemed like a people had showed up. Newest of all Hope.

"Hey," he says wandering up to the group. "What's going on? What universe now?"

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean grins, relaxing a bit, "As someone who recently gave up the Bird in question..." Since, well, there's only so many birbs of cosmic power, so Jean takes a bit of a guess with that one. "Yeah, I can relate to that. But yes, it's 2020. We are pretty young, but we're just getting started." She pauses, then adds, because she can't help herself...

"Well, Scott is in his thirties, but then he always acts that way." She looks a bit impish, as she glances over at the others, a bit bemused herself.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex shrugs at Roberto as he comes out. "Hell if I know, man. Girl fell from the sky or something." He reaches up to scratch his five o'clock shadow idly as he watches. "...does that girl have a dragon?" he asks after a moment. "Hell. This place is so weird."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Bird?" Gabby squints at Hope, then looks toward Jean again. In a whisper that really wasn't a whisper she asks, "So I was right with that whole flame bird thing?" Her hands lift to make flappy flapping gestures indicating what she meant. "That bird gets around." A solemn nod is offered more to herself than anyone else. As the youngest here she takes a step forward to wave at Hope with one hand tucked behind her back. "Hi, I'm Gabby. I'm not supposed to be here so I should probably sneak off when you're all distracted but so far they don't seem like total weirdos around here."

Kurt Wagner has posed:
When Kurt left a few hours ago to go out strolling and get a little quiet time from himself, away from the frequent chaos of the Mansion, things were actually fairly calm. For this place at least. A school for mutants doesn't exactly do 'normal' but it felt about as close as they ever get. The walk was relaxing, the quiet even more so, but even as he rounds the house, heading towards the front entrance he can hear the buzz of conversation. And when he rounds the corner and looks over the small gathering that seems to have assembled out front he casts a somewhat wary eye over the assemblage. "Ack. That does not look like how I left things," he murmurs, padding closer still. Ah well. At least no one will ever call life here boring.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde glances around at everyone emerging outside. Gabby gets a longer look than most for lack of familiarity as the teen goes and introduces herself to Hope. Kitty nods at what Jean said and turns back. "So somewhere from the future, but, not our future then?" Kitty ventures. "Familiar with us though if you think we're young? Know me by Kate possibly?" she asks. "Or... ah, knew me by. If I already..." Kitty trails off, changing her mind mid-sentence about going down the path she'd started.

"Well, that is... so, Hope. You are familiar with us? Some of us? Are you... someone who went to school here? Or did the school not exist any longer?" Kitty says as if that's some expectation she has about the future.

Kitty glances over, her face lighting up briefly as Kurt comes out. More old familiar faces is never a bad thing.

Lorna Dane has posed:
The talk of futures, of other places and different ways things were or could be sent Lorna on a spiraling path of 'what if's. So much so that short of everything else, the green haired woman was left standing breathless as she felt her bare feet stamp forward, cold and numb. She faintly remembered she could just levitate over the ground, but didn't all the same. Kitty's questions had sparked a train of thought from which she couldn't derail.

"What is it like? Is Genosha destroyed? Is my father still alive?" She could help the tears that sprung to her eyes. The desperation that pulled at her voice.

It was also the first time Lorna had put to words any of the trauma that plagued her so plainly.

Hope Summers has posed:
"You're...Gabby?" Hope tilts her head a bit at Gabby, eyes narrowing. "Not Laura?" As more people come out, Hope gives them each a hard look, reconciling the faces on the lawn with those she's more familiar with. Jean's mention of the bird refocuses her though, a heavy sigh escaping.

"Guess it's what I get for thinking I'd actually gotten rid of it. But. Yeah. Short version is I'm Hope, I'm a mutant, and I'm extremely not from around here. You're still Kitty," she smiles faintly. "Rogue. Roberto. Lorna. Alex. Kurt," she names off the others easily enough. "The school's been in various states the times I've seen it. Though it was the Jean Grey school last time I was there, so nice to meet you," she adds, stepping forward to offer a hand to Jean.

"So...Scott's still in charge?" she asks, quirking a brow at the others.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's stare catches sight of Kurt walking up the drive now but she doesn't let her eyes linger on him as they now go back to the others welcoming Hope and trying to get to the bottom of this. "This kinda thing normal around here?" She asks, everyone. "Are we all gonna have future off spring showin' up here, cause if so... I'm gonna get us a camera setup and create a Youtube Channel all about 'Is this your Baby?'. Think've it. We'll make millions."

She stops that line of thought though when Hope says off several of their names, including hers. This makes her walk forward a few steps to get a closer look of this girl in the tattered suit. She looks her over and then shakes her head. "This feels like it could be a trick'a some kind." She tells the others, then smiles to Hope. "No offense, if you're ya know... tellin' the truth'n all." To the others though, she looks again. "Someone's gotta be suspicious though, right?"

Alex Summers has posed:
"Wait, you know my bro?" Alex says, something about that just...okay, both weird and vaguely annoying. Of /course/ she knows his brother. Everyone here seems to know him. He looks a bit suprised at being singled out by name. "Wait, you know who I am?" he says confusedly. He only just got here!

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean blinks at the, "Wait... Jean //Grey// school..." Oh dear, Logan might find a bottle of whiskey missing after that comment, and then takes Hope's hand, "But yeah, I'm Jean Grey, Scott's in charge of the field teams, but the Professor... ah, Professor Xavier, he's still the head of the school itself." She grins a little bit at Hope, "At this point, I think we might need to form a Phoenix Support group."

Because, well, we can also talk about that cosmic firebird's ginger fetish.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney lifts a hand to wave dismissively at mention of Laura. "Oh, no, Laura's my sister." There's a pause there as she contemplates saying more or not. Though really, she did tend to have a lot in the way of verbal diahrea when it came to talking, THIS time she decides to stay quiet on the clone issue. Besides, more people were showing up that she hadn't yet met--Which was to say pretty much everyone outside of Jean and that had only been a breif moment or two in the first place.

Thankfully her attention is torn elsewhere for a minute. Looking toward the side she edges away allowing Jean and others to introduce themselves to Hope.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto looks to Alex, "Yeah?" he asks about the girl falling from the sky. "So pretty normal day, when's dinner?" he asks with a bit of a smirk on his face. Though when Hope starts talking the future, Roberto looks up, taking note when his name's mentioned. "Cool. So yeah, what Rogue said, how do we know this isn't some con?"

Kurt Wagner has posed:
For all that he does like to nip away every now and then for a few hours of quiet -- a chance to be alone with his thoughts and just recharge -- the truth is that Kurt relishes how vibrant the school is. He missed it while he was oversees in all honesty so as he nears he flashes a grin to the many familiar faces, lifting a hand Kitty's way and draws to a stop just outside the circle that surrounds the unfamiliar young woman who seems to be the center of attention. And rightfully so by the sounds of it. The Jean Grey School? Someone other than Scott as field leader? Sounds like they have another temporal abberation in their midst. Those are always fun.

Hope Summers has posed:
"Uh, because you've got psychics?" Hope quirks a brow between Lorna and Roberto, then slides a sidelong glance toward Jean. "Support group, so...I'm assuming Rachel's here too? The Cuckoos? If Frost is here I respectfully request not her."

Lorna's question about her father gets a flicker of something across Hope's features, as if she doesn't quite want to say it. "I'm...pretty sure your dad is indestructible," she says, even if it isn't quite a whole answer. But maybe it's meant to be reassuring too.

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna's heart thudded in her chest, her eyes watering as she clapped her hands over her mouth and held back a sob. Her father was... dead as far as she was aware. She couldn't feel him in the magnetic fields. She'd felt the snap, the vanishing. She //knew// it could only mean his death. Genosha had fallen and ... well, at least in one world, Magneto lived. Whether that was a good thing or not was hard to say. "What about your Genosha?" She breathed.

The green haired, barefooted woman fell silent again, standing awkwardly and shivering in the New York chill.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty glances over to Rogue at the wariness. "Well, we've got-" she says and then the new arrival beats her to the answer. Kitty gestures towards Hope, then points towards Jean. "Psychics," she confirms. "Also how we can have a stranger walk up and see, well, you and Lockheed flying around, and not worry about discovery," Kitty explains to the fairly new arrival to the school.

Kitty smiles at the wave from Kurt, and Roberto gets a head nod as he comes out too. Kitty looks with a bit of concern towards Lorna as she brings up her father. "It might be an entirely different timeline, Lorna," Kitty says really gently, not wanting Lorna to put too much into what she hears. "Ah, you haven't met Rachel. But, well, that thing with Senator Kelly, and my time-traveling future mind? Apparently it caused our timeline to go off a different way, but theirs didn't."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean smiles over at Kitty, "Yeah, that... I mean, if you don't mind, Hope?" She glances over at the new arrival, as Hope is there, along with a whole bunch of X-Folks on the front lawn meeting her.

Jean, for her part, radiates a basic unease that is pretty well hidden. But folks that are related to her and attuned to the Phoenix Force could pick up on that, pretty easily. Still, she does ask permission of Hope before probing her thoughts. No need to be rude, after all.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue looks to Roberto and smiles at him for backing her up on the suspicion part, but then trails her eyes back to the others. Lorna gets another look... but its Kitty who draws her attention back. "Ah, right... brain readers and yeah, prolly shouldn't fly around so... willy nilly, huh?" There comes a soft exhale from the Belle who starts to turn around then and walk back toward the direction she'd come from.

"Ya'll better take her inside and get her clothin' that doesn't look like she got stuck inside've a paper shredder though. Its like forty degrees out here!" Rogue shouts back over her shoulder as she starts back toward the school and one of its many side pathways toward the back yard.

Laura Kinney has posed:
The sound of a door opening and closing is followed by the soft thud of boots on sod, and a teenager looking remarkably like Gabby and not too distantly related to Logan appears. Plus that's definitely one of his old jackets she's wearing. Laura's green eyed gaze locks onto her little sister, and she continues on in her new direction. All the psychics around wouldn't be able to get too much past her mental shields, but she definitely has a sense of purpose and what escapes is mostly... protectiveness.

Rachel Summers has posed:
Look! Up in the sky! Well, it's just more sky. Rachel isn't manifesting the Phoenix Aura at the moment. She just floats down over the wall into the yard all subtle-like.
But the tingle of so many mutants in one place makes her brain feel like it's filled with itching powder. Her time as a hound is remembered distantly, and she clenches her fists before she walks into view... not speaking up just yet. Just... oh hey, there's Jean. She sends a hesitant quiet mental greeting... you know... mom awkwardness and such.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex watches Rogue walk past, then looks back at the group. "...the Southern bell has a point. Maybe take this inside?" He eyes Hope thoughfully. "Get the girl a sandwich? I'll even go in the kitchen and make her one." There's more than a hint of dry humor in his tone.

"But it'll be a heck of a lot warmer and people can sit down instead of looming around her."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Amidst the crowd, confusion, and introductions from the people more vibrantly colored and taller than her, Gabby has slunk back until she can properly see the target that had gotten her attention. Side-stepping behind the small crowd she moves closer until she's situated herself just behind Kitty... Where she pauses to stare at Lockheed with barely contained excitement at seeing the mini-dragon.

Quickly patting down her pockets she finds and pulls out a Snickers bar that she hopes and brings up sloooooowly toward the side of Lockheed's vision. With wide, exciteable eyes she beams a hopeful smile making a 'come here?' gesture at him.

Of course, distracted as she is by trying to kidnap Lockheed by offering treats, she's not immediately aware of Laura coming to get her.

Hope Summers has posed:
"Won't be the first time. Just..." Hope gives Jean a sympathetic look. "Fair warning, there's some crazy stuff in there, and you should probably take it all with...a lot of salt. Because this is //definitely// not where or when I'm from, so whatever you see in there, there's no guarantee that any of it is going to happen here. Okay?"

Alex's comment gets a flicker of a smile. "I would kill for a peanut butter sandwich," she concurs.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean nods at Hope, "I've seen myself get murdered by Sentinels, Hope... or rather, a version of myself. I'll be okay." She smiles, though there's a tinge of bitterness there.

And then she gets the contact from Rachel, and relaxes slightly, sending a quick summation of what's happened so far to Rachel as she then looks at Hope, "But, we should probably do this inside. It is pretty cold out here right now, after all. Also, we can get you some new clothes."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna shivered again, and Alex's comment ground Lorna back to reality, even if her own questions were rather a moot point. Part of her wanted to hear at least something good.... But people didn't travel from the future if everything was great and wonderful. Just like people didn't go to the past if everything was fine.

It meant something had to be wrong. Another something that is.

Her stomach twisted, and she glanced at Jean, satisfied that they weren't under attack and that things were normal for the school.. Lorna shifted, shivering and she turned to make her way inside to go back to avoiding people.

Kurt Wagner has posed:
It would appears that it is time for the psychics to do their thing. That will settle things. Except when it doesn't of course -- which happens more often then you would expect with people who can read minds. Never boring. Yep, Kurt can just keep repeating that mantra. "Do you think I should ask what happens to me in her timeline?" he asks, sidling up next to Kitty. "I mean, I am not certain that I want to know. It usually seems bad. Which hardly seems fair. I am such a friendly person afterall," he says with just a hint of a smile. At this point it takes a little more then this to disturb the fuzzy blue elf too much.

Rachel Summers has posed:
Stopping like she just got punched in the face... her brain races and she very nearly panics, once again. But she breathes deeply and calms herself. To her viewpoint, she MUST have changed the future, and if this Hope person is from a new future, then whatever Rachel did means Rachel doesn't get born. So she's a temporal orphan.
That's enough to bake her noodle. But she just moves forward, trying to project confidence. "At least let us time out of time temporal adventurer Summers girls get inside." she offers as she reaches the crowd, speaking from behind someone as she approaches and then comes into plain view. "Since there are -two- of us now. We should start a club."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto gives Rogue a smile, see, at least one sane person on this campus. Though the point about the psychics is well-made and with Jean doing her thing it sounds like questions will be answered.

As for going inside, he nods, "Might be an idea, though at this rate we might as well rent Madison Square Garden," he says looking at the size of the group.

Laura Kinney has posed:
...Okay, that's new. "...Time travel?" Laura looks between the various suspiciously similar looking and smelling redheads. ...yes, this is a possibility. One she hadn't thought of, but a possibility. Gabby's dragon feeding is also observed. ...She's not sure that dragons are supposed to eat chocolate. She knows that dogs aren't, but...

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty is focused on Hope, while Lockheed seems to notice Gabby as soon as she takes an interest in the little dragon. He peers around as soon as she starts paying him attention like he'd noticed somehow. As she brings up the bit of candy bar, he gives a tiny flap of his wings, causing Kitty to look over. Kitty flashes Gabby a smile of encouragement before turning back. Lockheed reaches out and takes the candy from her fingers, tilting his head back as he chews it and swallows it.

Kitty looks to Kurt as he comes out, reaching over to rest a hand on his shoulder and pat. "Yes, speaking of. Have some stories to tell you," Kitty says to Kurt. "It... yes there's that possibility. Though, doesn't mean it's you, so...?"

Kitty glances over to Rachel as she comes out. She sends warm thoughts to the psychic, letting Rachel knows she's glad to see her. <<You might be able to help Hope, she's going to be going through the same thing,>> Kitty sends.

Hope Summers has posed:
"Pretty much what Jean said," Hope agrees with a brief, rueful smile toward Rachel. "Luckily, as they say, this is not my first rodeo." Hearing Laura's voice, she pauses long enough to look over her shoulder and catch sight of the girl, a genuine smile flickering across her features. "//That's// Laura," she says, nodding once to herself.

"Seriously, though. I kind of, uh. I mean, things have been a little crazy where I came from, and the whole peanut butter sandwich thing would definitely not hurt."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Aaand that does it. When Lockheed takes the candybar Gabby claps her hands together bouncing on the balls of her feet as she starts to make a noise that's a bit high pitched for most ears. A squeel of delight that finally comes into the audible range as she gushes, "Ohmygosh he's so cool! I wanna steal him!" Only, you know, not really. Right? Right.

Hearing Laura speak up she glances over with a sudden caught-red-handed expression. Oops. "Oh, right, it's cold out here isn't it? I can't tell. We should go in before I freeze or something." She reasons glancing down at the snow with a foot stomp curiously. "People can freeze in this, right?"

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex smiles easily at that, then nods. "Sure, I'll go grab a plate for 'em." he says simply. "You guys just....I dunno. Hang out in the lounge?" There are chairs at least, and it seems like a good chunk of the mansion is here already anyway, right? He waves idly and heads back inside, making for the kitchen. There shall be PB sandwiches! Even a PB&J sandwich. Made out of whatever bread is available. There may be part of a baguette.

Rachel Summers has posed:
"Then let's compare notes on crazy." says Rachel, as she stops concentrating on trying to make the non psychics -not- notice her facial markings. They kinda fade into view. "Ever been turned into a hound to hunt and kill mutants for a genocidal maniac?" she asks Hope as she holds a hand out to her erstwhile sister.
Looking to Laura, and then Gabby, Rachel lifts her brow. "I suppose that might be Laura. I'm not sure yet. I did see that young woman tear apart a hit squad though."
But she turns to look towards the house, "Make that two sandwiches?" she calls out, not knowing that he is her uncle.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean nods, "Definitely a possibility Gabby." She then smiles over at Hope, "Peanut butter sandwiches, we can definitely manage. Come on, let's get inside." Because, well, she could definitely tell if there's a threat here, and... honestly, it isn't like there's a fair amount of mutant power here in case things went sideways.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Oh hey, someone said her name. Laura gives Hope an evaluating glance, before turning back to Gabby. "Your sense of temperature is blocked as well? That is... not very good. I am sorry." One of Laura's favorite things is a hot shower. Aaaaaand someone just brought up her performance in Chinatown. "...In my defense, they were pointing guns at me and were going to capture me."

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
"Doctor doctor, please, whoaaaah, the mess I'm in
Doctor doctor, pleaaaaaaaaase, whoa, the mess I'm in
She walked up to me, and really stole my heart
And then she started to *take my body apart*-"

To stay in X-Shape, you have to jog, which is why Doug comes around the path, with his earbuds in and his winter running gear on, up the path... singing UFO at the top of his lungs. But he is hitting all the notes. He's also surfing the internet using his goggles, so he hasn't quite made the turn to notice the crowd yet.

Kurt Wagner has posed:
"Mmmm, yes, I should expect you do," Kurt agrees, nodding Kitty's way as the crowd begins to disperse a little, the cold weather a greater persuader. Not that it bothers Kurt any. He may have a very distinctive look, but it does mean that he is actually quite cozy in this weather. "May you live in interesting times. I think I understand why some would consider that a curse now, Ja?" he notes, expression taking on a slightly wistful expression for just a moment. But it doesn't linger fortunately. "I shall try to catch up with you when you have a moment. I imagine it might be a little exciting around here tonight though," he says, once more casting his gaze towards those surrounding Hope. "I trust that this is not too overwhelming..."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney mmmmms uncertainly only to give a little hand wibble in response to Laura as she steps closer to the older mutant. "It's hard to explain. It's like, where does one extreme end and pain begin? I know it's cold. I can feel a chill, but at what level?" Her nose crinkles with a little huff of air and for just a moment her expression is far more Laura-Like. "I've never really had to explain it before."

Hope Summers has posed:
"No, I missed out on that. But there were space whales. And cockroach people presidents. And there was the whole thing with Stryfe and Apocalypse, which is where I met Laura," Hope points a thumb over her shoulder as she follows the others inside. "Which I thought was the weird stuff until more recently, when things got even weirder. After which I ended up here, which is...weirder still."

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura gives Gabby a pondering gaze for a moment, before taking off her jacket and draping it over her little sister's shoulders. Oversized on Laura, Gabby's practically swimming in it. But it's warm and smells of family. Laura, meanwhile, doesn't seem to mind that she's in a T-shirt. "Yes. Going inside might be a good idea." Hope's explanation is just... Laura has no clue what any of that means.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean looks curiously at Hope, "Cockroach people presidents? You mean Luthor?" She winces, "Oh God I hope this doesn't mean that he //wins//." With that, she makes a face. "Don't tell me, I don't want to know."

Suddenly she pauses, and looks at Rachel, "Hey, um... Rachel, can you handle things for a moment? I need to take care of something." She has a bit of an... odd look, but she's probably okay. Right?

Right?

Rachel Summers has posed:
"Ah." says Rachel with a shrug. She inclines her head and suggests, "If you all prefer, I could warm things up a bit out here." she offers as psionic flames begin to lick over her hands and face, and off of her hair. But she seems to have been adjusting of late, as she isn't seeming stressed out. That or she is lying to herself about it all. You know, fake it until you make it?
Either way, she gestures towards Kitty, "Where and when I came from, it was all Sentinels and mutants running and hiding. My only friends were..." she smiles and meets Kitty's eyes, "Kate here." she says before adding, "Ororo, Franklin, and Magnus, Piotr, and Logan."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde nods towards Kurt in agreement. "We rarely seem to lack for something 'interesting,'" she tells him quietly. "Yes, maybe we should move inside and let Hope have a seat in front of a fireplace. Now we're all standing around, I'm getting a little cold as well," she says, looking to Hope to see if she's good on going inside, and to everyone else as well. "Alex," Kitty says, "Sandwiches would be great." She flashes him a grateful smile for his willingness to help out the new arrival.

Kitty spots Doug jogging up and waves him over, the gesture motioning towards the school as well as she starts moving that way. Kitty slips an arm about Rachel's shoulders as she draws near, if allowed. "And we're glad we have you," she says, giving the redhead a warm, gentle sidehug before letting her go.

Hope Summers has posed:
"Your future gets better, you know." Hope lowers her voice with a sympathetic look at Rachel. "I mean. Better in the sense of not being alone, at least. The //whole// thing is still weird and complicated, as usual. But you get to help raise the greatest guy in history, so there's that." She smiles faintly, heading inside with a long look at the crowd of X-Men.

"Everyone's so young. And happy. And things are...things are good. So far? Not the worst time or place. Also," she raises her voice again, "I think it's totally fair to shoot people who are aiming guns at you. For the record."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Like Kitty, Roberto also sees Doug jogging but contemplates sticking out his foot rather than waving. In the end though the good Roberto on his shoulder wins out over the bad and he just shouts, "Doug, weird shit, wake up!" to the man in the goggles. He claps his hands loudly as well.

Might as well share the weirdness right?

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney takes the jacket which only makes her look younger as she's practically swimming in it. A bright, happy smile is beamed up toward Laura who gets a floppy-sleeved hug from the shorter girl just breifly. "Thanks!" But then everyone is heading inside and she tips her head toward Laura questioningly. "You want to go join them? Seems like she knows you," she points out about Hope. Maybe she was a bit curious too.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura returns Gabby's smile. It's genuine, and fully reaches her eyes. This is a rarity. "I will want that back after, though. You get your own after you beat Logan in a fight." It is indeed true, that is how she acquired it. And she's slightly less stiff and awkward during the hug. "Yes, we should go inside. I would like to talk to her more." No going into the gory details unless asked, though. That was a valuable lessonLogan taught her.

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
Doug stops, and his cheeks color just a bit. "Uh." He clears his throat. "Hi!" He walks up, with his goggles pushed up onto his forehead, as he watches the crowd - "Looks like I missed a party." He says, before he scratches his temple.

Rachel Summers has posed:
"So..." begins Rachel, "Do you have the big flaming bird on your soul too?" to Hope as she manifest just a minor bit of the Phoenix energy... the aura not harmful so much as just visible. "Because, it'd be awesome as hell if there was two of us." She grins and looks to Jean before her grin slip s a bit, "So... I am so sorry that you're having to have your brain melted by all of this insanity M... Jean."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto smirks at Doug as he comes out of whatever it was he was doing as he was jogging. "Yeah, we're all going inside now, but the short version of things is this, that girl," he points at Hope. "Came from the future, but maybe not our future, We're trying to sort that out," he says. "Unrelated, there's now two Lauras? Or is Lauri? Anyhow, two of them, and then there's that guy," he points to Alex. "Who's new but seems sort of cool."

He looks back at the others, "Miss anything?"

Hope Summers has posed:
"I did. For a minute." Hope gives Rachel a weighing look, but it's not like she can't find out when she's in her head. "And then, because the damned thing had caused so much trouble, I destroyed it. Or...was destroying it? That's the last thing I remember before getting dropped here, at least. I hope it worked. No offense," she adds. "I mean, if it's working for you, go for it. It just made a royal mess of things where I was."

The crowd of people still seems to have her bemused, but the lure of the kitchen and peanut butter sandwiches is too much to resist. That's her priority now.

Kurt Wagner has posed:
While a few might have wandered off, it would seem that getting everyone to move inside is rather difficult. But then getting any of them to move in the same direction for any period of time does seem much akin to herding cats. Kurt's really not sure how Scott does it. Perhaps that is why he seems to have a perpetual grimace on his face. "You heard them, move it inside. It is far to cold for most of you to be standing around here, and there is certainly no reason to keep our guest out here. If anyone of you gets a cold, well, we'll hand you over to Logan for treatment," he says, waving his hands towards the mansion's entrance. And if that does not get them moving...

Laura Kinney has posed:
Leaning over, Laura snags a peanut butter and chocolate energy bar from her coat pocket as everyone heads inside. "I am Laura. This is my sister Gabby." Roberto is corrected, and she lets out a whistle to catch Hope's attention before tossing her the bar. Wolverines always carry snacks. You never know when you'll need them.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney gives a nod of apparent understanding when Laura's curious about this new arrival. "Yeah, she seems pretty straight forward at least." Then again who was she as a judge of character? When Laura calls out to correct Roberto she lifts a hand--still stuck in that too-big-sleeve of Logan's jacket--To wave on his direction with a flap of leather sleeve. "Hi! Nice to meetcha!"

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
Doug gives Laura and Gabby a glance, before he beams, brightly. "Hi! I'm Doug. This is Roberto... we all call him Bobby. Or Berto. I'll let him tell you all about himself... it's his favorite subject." He offers one hand -- it's black, and shiny, and threaded through with gold circuitry. Then he pauses, and flushes again, before he withdraws it. "That's a long story-"

Hope Summers has posed:
Hope looks over at the whistle, hand snapping out the snag the bar out of the air when Laura tosses it. She grins when she gets a look at it, nodding her thanks. "Sorry. I know you don't know me and I'm nobody to you, you just...The Laura where I'm from was one of the first people I knew who wasn't my dad and actually tried to help me. She made an impression. I'm Hope," she adds, holding on to the bar for the moment. The instinct to hoard it for an emergency is a strong one.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto can't help but grin at 'Cheery Laura' aka Gabby and shakes her hand. "Hey Gabby, what Doug said," he greets chucking a thumb towards Doug with his other hand. "When did you show up?" he asks. Roberto had been back a couple of weeks, but the whole Genosha thing and getting some new powers under control had taken up most of his time and energy, so now he was poking his head out to see if he saw his shadow... or y'know the day to day Xavier's weirdness.

"He's totally lying about me talking about myself like that, I mean would someone as rich and awesome as me need to talk about myself?" he asks with a snort and a shake of his head at himself and Doug as they head inside along with the others.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty moves on inside, over to one of the several fireplaces available in the mansion. "Come get a seat and warm up," Kitty suggests before saying, "I'll help Alex with the food." She looks about, making sure Hope is doing well. And Rachel too for that matter. Kitty has been trying to quietly look out for Rachel since finding out about the nature of their friendship in the future, hoping it's welcoming to her to know Kate Pryde, or a version of her, is still there in that role.

Kitty smiles over to Gabby as she introduces herself to others. "I'm Kitty," she offers to the younger girl. "Do you mind keeping an eye on Lockheed for me while I'm gone?" Assuming Gabby is ok with that, Kitty picks up the dragon and offers him over to Gabby's shoulder, where Lockheed moves. His feet seem to have no difficulty taking hold and perching, and he even lies down there.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura gives nods of greeting to Doug and Bobby. "Sometimes rich people have trouble learning how to relate to others, and use money and talking quickly to make up for lack of personal skills." That bombshell dropped, she picks up the pace a little to catch up with Hope. "I am glad that I could help you. ...I may ask you questions, some time. With more privacy. I can give you my cell phone number."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney wiggles her sleeve a bit, tugging the leather up so her hand can poke through to take the offered hand from Doug. "It's okay, I've had wires and stuff in me before, too," she assures as if this were really no big deal at all. Then Roberto offers his hand and she shakes it as well still grinning. "Oh, the other week in Chinatown. I mean, I've been around for years, but we only just escaped from the labs and got to New York and--" Wait. Wait. WAAAIT. Kitty introduces herself and offers Lockheed to a gasping nod. "Oh my god yes!" Then she holds very still so Lockheed can settle while just clutching her fists to her chin with a look of pure adoration. AWWW.

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
Doug tilts his head at Laura, and then puts his hand over his mouth. His shoulders shake. Don't laugh, don't laugh, don't laugh... he bites a techno-organic finger, and goes *snrrrrrk*-

Hope Summers has posed:
"You could," Hope smiles ruefully to Laura. "But I don't have a phone, so...I probably wouldn't call." She glances to Roberto at the other girl's comment, not quite hiding a smirk of her own. Once she's inside, she takes a look around. To some, it might just look like curiosity. Others might note the instinctive marking of exits and vantage points that happens in the process.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto just gapes... did...did...Laura just burn him? For once Roberto is at a loss for words before he give Doug a joking punch in his organic shoulder, "Shut up," he tells the other boy before he says to Laura. "Okay, Scary Spice, I see you, well played," he says and moves to plop down by the fire. "Welcome to freedom, or the Xavier's equivalent there of," he says to Gabby. "And yeah, Kit Kat's flying iguana is pretty cool huh?"

Spotting Hope glancing around like she's casing the joint, Roberto calls out. "C'mon and join us. Gonna guess you'll be around for awhile unless the Professor has a DeLoren stashed in the basement."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde is on her way to the kitchen. She catches, "Kit Kat's flying iquana," from Roberto and pauses as the door to look back at him with a look of mock anger and points a finger at him like he'd better watch out. The look fades away to a grin then as she disappears into the kitchen.

Lockheed heard it too. He gives a tiny puff of smoke to make a smoke ring that floats towards Roberto, spreading out to about encircle his face if he doesn't move.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura recognizes this instinctual tactical planning, before reaching over and rummaging in an inside pocket of the jacket. Gabby may be wearing it but it's still hers, and it has things she needs. The 'scary spice' comment goes entirely over Laura's head, which is probably just as well. Hope is handed a ziplock bag containing a cheap flip phone, a USB cable, and a battery for said phone. "Now you have a phone. It is prepaid for three hundred minutes and can be refilled online." A notepad is aldo retrieved from the jacket, and a piece of paper with a neatly written phone number and LK is also handed over. "Gabby, before you ask, no pets until we finish the move."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"He is the coolest thing *ever*," Gabby states matter-of-fact as she moves inside with the others. Rather than taking a chair though she plops down cross legged on the floor near the fire because it's warm. And potentially cold blooded creatures needed warm, right? Plus she probably could use to warm up too so she sticks her feet near it to let them do the warming/thawing thing if necessary.

The puff of smoke sent Roberto's way earns a nod of agreement. "Watch yourself. We got your back, Lockheed," she points out even as Laura digs into the pocket causing her to shift to the side so she has more room to do so. Then that fateful statement: "Awww. Okay." Reaching up she gives Lockheed a good scritching while whispering, "Except you would be a partner not a pet. You're too cool to be a pet."

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
"You're just pulling down all KINDS of aggro," Doug says. "Really... Berto's pretty cool. I've never beaten him in a game of chess. Not once. Ever. Seriously, he plays at a grandmaster level. He once beat me while he was talking on his phone. For the *entire game*." Doug mutters. "Still can't figure that one out... I was the head of the Salem High chess club. I've beaten Professor Xavier before. ...But not Bobby."

He glances up at Lockheed and then says, "...I'm pretty sure the Green Lantern Corps has a warrant out for Lockheed. Probably for unpaid spaceship parking tickets."

Hope Summers has posed:
"Reed Richards, more likely," Hope replies absently to Roberto, though she does turn back to join the others. "He's still- You've got a Reed Richards, right?" Her brows rise slightly when Laura produces the phone, but the surprise is fleeting, turning swiftly to a broad grin as she nods and accepts phone and note alike, unsealing the bag long enough to slip the note inside of it for safekeeping.

Only then does she drop heavily into a chair, eyes closing and head falling back for a moment of rest. That is, until Doug mentions the Green Lantern Corps. One eye peels open, and in contrast to everything else she's seemingly already known, she asks: "What's a Green Lantern Corps?"

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto catches Kitty's look calling out, "Bring it, gata," with a grin before coughing at smoke rings. "No kidding," he says to Doug about pulling aggro. "It's not easy being me." He coughs again.

"And aww, Doug, making my ears burn," he says as Doug mentions his strategic talents. "Anyhow, yeah, we've still got a Reed and the rest of the Fantastic Four... as long as there's still four of them in your time I mean..." then he blinks. "You haven't heard of the Green Lanterns?"

Laura Kinney has posed:
"Perhaps there is an emergency in space in the future, so the Lanterns were not on Earth." Laura spraws out on the rug in front of the fireplace next to Gabby, soaking up the warmth like a contented cat. Mmmmm. warm...

Alex Summers has posed:
A large platter precedes Alex into the room. He must have rooted around in the kitchen a bit to find the special party platter stuff, becuase it's a good three feet across. And he appears to have figured that while he's at it, he might as well use up the entire remaining container of peanut butter. Because the platter, from left to right, has what looks like a chopped up baguette, then white bread, then wheat bread, then little dinner rolls left over that have been sliced and smeared liberally with peanut butter. Some include jelly or jam, depending what he could find. "Dinner's on..." he calls as he carries it on ver to where people are setting, then carefully sets it down on a nearby coffee table for people to snack upon as they wish, before snagging one of the dinner roll sandiwches and finding a chair to flop down in.

Hope Summers has posed:
"Clearly Alex is the real hero here," Hope declares as he arrives with peanut butter sandwiches, getting up long enough to snag a handful of options before she resumes her seat. "I've been to space," she continues, shaking her head and taking a large bite. "There were Brood and there were space whales, but nothing I'd call a...Green Lantern, was it? I mean, it was also the year who the hell knows, so that could be it too, but...Pretty sure I would've heard about them trying to stop the Phoenix from coming back if they're space people. Are they like the Nova Corps?"

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
Doug tilts his head at... peanut butter and orange marmalade on a ritz cracker, and then perches on a stool. He takes that one, and puts it in his mouth all at once, making a ':I' face as he munches on it, thoughtfully. For the moment, he listens to the conversation around him, perhaps taking the measure of the new folks in an inobtrusive way.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney is quite happy where she is. Or she was at least until a tray loaded with food arrives. She's a young, growing girl of the Howlett line. Mutant or not she was just as much an endless gut as one might expect. It's a bit far away though so she streeetches out. Reaching. Rolling onto her knees careful to not knock Lockheed off her shoulder, and stretches again. Just... almost... so close... Fingers wiggle before she sighs, and reaches back to inside the jacket. Not to rummage through the pockets but to pull something off her own gear. Flipping out a switchblade she stabs the sandwich she'd been trying to procure and then sits back with her purploined goods happily.

Laura Kinney has posed:
"Kind of. They have rings of power instead of helmets." Laura does not partake in the food, because knowing her caloric needs she'd probably eat half of it. Which would be rude. "Gabby, do not get food on the jacket." This jacket is one of Laura's most prised posessions, up there with the locket containing the picture of her mom.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto reaches out and grabs a sandwich, as he says to Hope. "I think, kinda, mostly only see the one that was in the Justice League and he's on Earth, but yeah, basically space cops." He nods when Laura says much the same thing. "So, what happened, y'know in your world? Sounds like a bad time."

Alex Summers has posed:
"Rings of power? What, like Sauron?" Alex says absently after taking a bite, as he crosses his legs, getting comfortable. "And more importantly, why did you come back here? I missed that explanation." he say bemusedly. Because it's not every day you run into a time traveler.

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
"Mmm, it happens." He has Robert the Bruce's autograph, after all. Doug says, after swallowing his cracker, before he says, "I guess so? Space is big and there's a lot of it so there's a bunch of different groups of... space police. The Nova Corps, the Green Lantern Corps, the - well, no, those guys are pirates." Doug shrugs his shoulders, and then leans his elbow back onto the counter.

Hope Summers has posed:
"Justice League sounds new too," Hope says slowly, her mouth full of sandwich. She falls silent for a moment, partly to chew, partly to consider the new information. And then Roberto's question. "It's a //really// weird story," she warns. "Uh. What's the shortest way to explain this?"

She squints up at the ceiling, trying to work it out ahead of time. "Okay. First there was M-Day, where all but about 200 mutants were depowered. Long story, not relevant. And then there was some sort of prophecy about the mutant messiah, or antichrist, depending on whether or not you like mutants. Which was supposedly me, first mutant born since it happened. Lots of people wanted me dead, so they called Nathan to come and get me, to take me into the future to raise where I'd be safe."

She takes another bite, chewing a moment. "Spoilers, I was not. Another guy blamed me for all the bad stuff that had happened to him, so he followed us, completely wrecking the world in the process. But we're hard to kill, so we made it back eventually and took out the bad guys and mutants started showing powers again. Which was good."

"But then the Phoenix was coming back, which was bad, because that damned bird is destructive. The X-Men and the Avengers disagreed pretty strongly about how to handle it, which was extra stupid because neither of them actually asked me how I felt and I was the one it was coming for. Things went...badly for a bit, I learned some new tricks, I accepted the Force, and the Scarlet Witch and I were in the process of willing it out of existence when I landed here. The end."

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura gives Hope a meaningful look, tapping one finger against her knuckles and raising her eyebrow. If she really knew her in the future... She'll know what it means. And that Laura doesn't want an answer right now in front of everyone. "People just cannot leave us alone." She sighs wearily.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto listens, frowning. "Weird, so now JL and no Green Lanterns" he asks. "How about Iron Man, Green Arrow, Captain America, Wonder Woman, Flash, Quicksilver..." he lists off a few more heroes. Trying to sort out the differneces between the worlds before Hope brings up M-Day. "Wait, what? How?' he asks then he hits on something. "And did someone ask you already if Genosha was destroyed in your world and by who?"

The rest was taken in and processed with a 'Huh'. "So you got chucked here by some voodoo with the Pheonix?" he asks.

Alex Summers has posed:
"What's 'the Phoenix'?" Alex asks, holding up his fingers to make an air quote. "And...yeah. Did that happen in whatever timeline you're from?" He's at least aware of the sci fi version of timelines and time travel, but he has no idea how it actually works. Especially since there appears to be more than one time traveler here, which wreaks havoc with the idea of causation!"

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
"A million little details could be different," Doug says to Roberto, "Trying to use what she knows to divine what's in our future is a sketchy proposition... at best." He shrugs his shoulders and takes a little sandwich on a roll and takes a bite out of it, chews thoughtfully on it and then says, "Some things might never happen at all. As for people never leaving us alone... sadists and bullies always look for a victim they think the world will let them get away with abusing." He glances up at Alex, and says, "...The Phoenix is - I can't lie, I still don't quite understand it myself."

Hope Summers has posed:
"The Phoenix is a royal pain in the ass," Hope snorts at Alex's question. "Big cosmic firebird. Force of destruction and rebirth. Rebirth sounds nice, right? But the Phoenix can get a little gung ho on the destroying things first side of things. As for Genosha, I don't...Honestly, I didn't get a lot of history and geography, so all I can say is I know it wasn't a mutant kingdom when I was there, but it was at one point because people mentioned it, I just...I don't know the details. Sorry."

Finishing one sandwich, she starts on another. "I know Iron Man, Captain America, and Quicksilver, but the others are news to me. Are they Avengers? There seem to be a lot of Avengers."

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura yawns, showing a bit too much teeth and then wrapping Logan's jacket a little tighter around Gabby. A pillow is snagged from a nearby couch, and placed uner the younger wolverine's head. Laura lies back in front of the fire as well, relaxed but still listening, eyes open a slit.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"I know," Roberto frowns to Doug. "But since we're coming up with nothing through traditional investigation it's time to try the long shot." However the long shot comes up dry too. "Typical," Roberto says with a sigh. "Thanks though," he says to Hope. "And they're members of the Justice League and some other random heroes, weird, wonder why they're here and not in your world." He looks to Doug some thoughts there.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex just stares at the pair. "...you know, I honestly can't tell if you're just fucking with me or if things really are that weird around here. I'm leaning towards the latter." he admits after a moment, sighing as he rubs his faces. "Sorry, just...a week or so ago the world was a lot...saner? Simpler. We'll say simpler. Then my archeology professor tries to kill me, suddenly I have the mutant power of 'blow shit up', and now people are arriving from the future. It's a lot to take in."

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
Doug looks to Roberto, and shrugs, "You got me. Once Illyana showed me a world where I got shot dead in a fight over a giant talking chicken." He scratches the back of his neck. "Life is weird. Sometimes it ends weird. Our lives especially."

Hope Summers has posed:
"I'm not sure I could come up with something better to screw with you if I wanted to," Hope admits with a shrug to Alex. "My whole life's been pretty weird. But you guys are what, the third to ask about Genosha in half an hour? What happened? Is happening? Magneto's not actually dead, is he? Because I'm not sure I'd believe that without a body." She can safely say that now that Lorna is gone.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto looks to Alex, "Nah, man, this is pretty standard really," he says. "Welcome to Xavier's," he says before considering things a beat and adding. "Actually, the chicken thing is pretty weird. He looks to Doug. "Like a real giant talking chicken or a guy in a suit?" he asks him because /that/ is the important question right now.

He turns back to Alex then, asking, "So what's your story, you're new right? Been away for a bit."

As for Genosha? "Douglas, you've been working on this more than most of us, wanna fill the guy in?"

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
"Well, I know whoever did it had the industrial base to produce Sentinels - without anyone noticing - and then they Zerg-Rushed Genosha and flattened it before an effective defense could be mounted. Out of 16 million people, there are less than a thousand survivors. Of which I'm one. I *guess*."

Doug glances up briefly, and then says, "But I can't find any evidence of any of the usual bad actors being behind this one. It's like they... piped it in from an alternate dimension or something." He looks down. "...Huh."

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex shrugs. "Name's Alex, Alex Summers. I'm Scott's younger brother. Though we were separated as kids. Different adoptions. Apparently he ended up here, I ended up doing graduate school for a Geophysics degree. Then, like I said...my archeology professor decided he was a living Pharaoh, had powers similar to mine and I was stealing his, and tried to kill me. Explosions, Prof. X, discovering long lost brother, annnnd now I'm here trying not to accidentally blow things up." He glances over to Doug. "You forgot the creepy huge Sentinel thing with the multiple faces they got the video of on the news. Still haven't heard what's up with that."

Hope Summers has posed:
"Sixteen //million//?" Hope blanches, falling back in her chair as that sinks in. "Maybe me ending up here wasn't just...Phoenix fuckery after all," she says quietly. Her brows furrow, the implications of the possibility starting to run rampant through her mind. For one, tiny moment she'd thought that maybe she'd found a place where they didn't need her to save the mutant race. But maybe she was wrong.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Yep, it's a rule of the multiverse, sky's blue, water's wet, the mutant race is in peril. "Sorry, people are still assholes here," he says, simply, grimly.

As for Alex he gets nod, "Hey, my business tutor tried to kill me by boosting my powers," he says to the other-other Summers. "So I feel you," he says. "And really, like /Scott/ Summers' brother?" he says. "Weird, you actually seem sort of cool."

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
"I like Scott." Doug says to Roberto, "I mean he's got doubloons in his coin collection, that's pretty cool." He holds his arms out to the sides, "...To quote the great Burt Gummer, we're doing what we can with what we got. Till then, this place is the refuge for the lost and lonely, and it's not currently on fire, there aren't any demons running amok - Illyana's out tonight - and Sam hasn't put any holes in the roof in years, as I understand it, so welcome home."

Alex Summers has posed:
"Of course he's got a coin collection." Alex mutters a bit, then mmms, nodding slightly. "Yeah, Scott Summers, tall guy, stick up his ass, that sorta thing." Yeah, they get along! "....demons?" he says after a moment, eyeing Doug now, then looks to Hope. "So, basically...you're stuck here, but you've got family...sort of. Man, that's gotta be a trip, meeting your possible future kid." he admits.

Hope Summers has posed:
"Huh? No, I'm not...blood related," Hope shakes her head. "Nathan raised me, but we're not blood. And //his// blood relationship to people is also complicated. Shockingly, there's more time and reality travel involved. My mom was a firefighter in Alaska. No one actually knows who my bio dad was," she shrugs. "Rachel though, yeah, she and Jean and Scott have things to figure out. And I don't know yet if I'm stuck here," she muses, finishing off her second sandwich. "I haven't been here long enough to try and find anything out really. This is kind of like...home base, you know? If lost, return to Xavier's."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"Hey," Roberto says with a look to Doug. "We're actually getting along, why would you say things like that?" he asks about saying good things about Scott.

Though Alex gets a snappoint, "See, he gets it," he says to Doug, before settling in a bit and looking to Hope. "Well, if you're going home tomorrow or staying, I'm sure you're welcome here, you definitely fit right in," he says. "We take all types," a nod to Alex about his questions. "Even demons," he looks to Doug. "Or the boss of demons?" he asks. "Illy's on the top of Limbo's org-chart right?"

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
Doug thinks about that and then he says, "Well, they're Chaotic Evil, I'm pretty sure she's Neutral Evil... but she likes us, so." He ticks off on his fingers, and then says, "Yeah, she's the big boss, the head of the hierarchy of Hell-Adjace, all genuflect -- all that stuff. I'm... thinking about asking her out on a date but I don't even know how you DO that. I guess I'll just take the plunge."

Alex Summers has posed:
"Ah, okay, I misunderstood." Alex says to Hope, frowning a bit. "Sorry." It's a lot to keep track of, in his defense! "Well..looks like people are going to be fine with you here so good that you've got a place to stay."

And then Doug speaks of asking out Illyana and he looks over at him again, blinking. "...wait...you're literally thinking of asking out the girl from hell? Who is Neutral Evil." He considers, then says deadpan. "I can see no way that this could go horribly wrong."

Hope Summers has posed:
Hope squints at Doug. "You wanna ask //Illyana// out?" she asks. "Brave." Coming from the girl who doesn't seem to be all that worried about the fact that she's in a completely different reality than she expected, that's saying something. "What he said," she points a thumb at Alex. "But hey, maybe it'll make her, like...happy." She does not sound convinced of that possibility.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto looks to Doug when he mentions wanting to ask Illy out on a date, he grins, then turns to Alex. "Yeah, she's neutral evil but also neutral hot," okay that doesn't actually make sense, but Berto goes with it. Back to Doug. "I respect the courage," he says. "If you want, I can go stand near you when you ask her so you can be cooler by proxy."

Hope's reaction is noticed. "Guess she's around your world too, and pretty much the same with the whole happy thing, yeah?"

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
"I think I'll be fine," Doug says, his tone going sahara-dry. "I might take her to a baseball game. Speaking of striking out, *how's Amara*?" His eyebrows go up. Then he looks at Alex and says, "You should've seen us two years ago... we would've been about to get into a fistfight. You know how painful it is, being too proud to back down from a fist-fight with a guy with super-strength and a short temper? Because I do." He shakes his head, and then glances up at Hope and quirks his mouth. "Fortune favors the bold, right? She's not a bad person-- she just..." He gestures with one hand.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex resists the urge to facepalm when Roberto pronounces Illyana "neutral hot," then shrugs a bit at that. "Mm, well, I don't know her, so...good luck I guess?" he says bemusedly. "Though seriously, this place feels like everyone in it should work part time as a model or something, if you're going to add alignment hotness." He raises a brow. "Wait, you two got in a fight? Super strength, huh?" He eyes Roberto thoughfully. "Handy. Wait, so what is the two of you's thing?" he says, gesturing between Doug and Hope."

Hope Summers has posed:
"Yeah. Just." Hope smiles faintly at Doug's objection, lifting one shoulder in a lazy shrug. "Hey, like I said, maybe it'll make her happy. Could be worse things." She stifles a yawn with the back of one hand, sinking deeper into the chair. "I do what anyone else does," she answers Alex. "I mean, I copy powers," she clarifies. "Can do anything a mutant around me can do, basically."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto shakes his head. "We get into lots of fights, that one just involved punches," he says. "And strength is just one part of the Sunspot package, I basically absorb heat and light and turn it into energy I can use, strength, flight, blasts. It's pretty great."

Though he does look over and scowl at Doug. "Low blow bringing her into this," he says about Amara. "Keep it up and I'll ask Illy out first."

He looks to Hope then, "So you can do whatever we do? Handy," he says. "All at once or one at a time?"

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
Doug holds up his techno-organic hand. "Duly noted."

He glances up at Alex, and rubs the back of his neck. "I... can speak any language."

Alex Summers has posed:
"Huh. Handy. Though does it come with an instruction manual for how to control it? Because if so, go ahead and borrow mine and tell me what I'm doing wrong." Alex says dryly, then nods at Roberto. "Huh. I kinda do that, except it's apparently any 'cosmic emission' and it only turns into plasma and blwos things up, really."

For some, they might view Doug's power as lame or weak.

Alex, archaeology aficiando. "Seriously, /any/ language? What about dead languages?"

Hope Summers has posed:
"No manual," Hope answers Alex, rueful. "So. Not always advisable. And all..." She starts to answers Roberto, then pauses, frowning. "That's weird. I was gonna pick up you and Alex and Jean and...It's like trying to pick up a boat with one hand. I can't get a grip on them all." Her frown deepens in concentration until she winces, shaking her head. "Maybe it's just- Maybe I'm just tired." Still, there's a waver of doubt in her voice when she says it. One more thing added to the list of things she needs to figure out.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto up nods to Doug as the fight's avoided, and then to Hope says, "Well it's been a long day no doubt, dealing with the Phoenix then ending up in a new world with weird younger copies of people you knew. If it were me I'd probably be passed out upstairs by now. So don't beat yourself up if you can't grab us all." He offers a smile there, drawing up one knee so he can lean on it. "And yeah, Doug's power's not bad, and he really works it."

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
Doug's mouth flattens into a line. "...That response I was not expecting." He admits. "I've read Linear A and the Voynich Manuscript, if that's what you mean. Dead languages, alien languages... sure. I was able to translate the glyphs on a Dyson Sphere, once." He sighs, and then mutters, "I thought it was stupid when I was a little younger than I am now. But it's mine, so I make it work. And it... applies in more situations than I thought it would when it first manifested. So I get by."

Alex Summers has posed:
"Damn, you're set for life. IF it isn't academics who are desperate to translate lost languages, you've got tribal goverments all over who would probably be happy to hire you to teach their languages if they're no longer spoken or remembered." Alex say thoughfully. "It's not a flashy power, but that's a pretty unique one."

He raises a brow at Hope, then says curiously. "Maybe try just one of us...though it's true you could just be tired. I imagine being tossed through time and space takes a lot out of you."

Hope Summers has posed:
"Alex is right, Doug," Hope says, stifling another yawn. "It's not flashy, but it's hella useful. Granted, on the practical side, so are they," she nods toward the slumbering Wolverines. "Did you know they feel all that stuff that happens to them?" she asks absently. "It is not a good time. Growing back skin //hurts//." She starts to nod at the suggestion that she try one power, but it soon turns to a shake of her head. "Honestly, I'm pretty beat. Given the potential for things to go sideways, it's probably better if I don't try anything right now. With my luck I'll try to pick up Doug and end up grabbing Alex and blow the place up. I'll figure it out in the morning."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto nods to Alex, "See Doug, he gets it," he says. "Hope too."

He turns to Hope then, "They fix you up with a place to stay yet?" he asks. "Going to head back up in a couple here, if they haven't I can grab someone to get you a room to crash in, get your feet under you."

Douglas Ramsey has posed:
"We can show you to your rooms." Doug says. "There's plenty of them to spare. And every suite in this barn has its own bathroom, so... you know. There's no jockeying for space in the morning. There's usually a line at the sauna after something rough goes down, though..." He grins. "This place is so posh even Berto's happy. And he's so rich when Sam and I hang out with him we have to wear top-hats and monocles." He grins, and says... "He made us wear them."

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex mms, then yawns himself, covering his mouth. "...mmm, point. Too late to drive back to town anyway, so if it's cool, I'll crash here too." he offers, pushing himself up to stand and stretch. "It's a nice place...considering the crap you guys seem to be putting up with regularly, good to have a comfy place to at least lay your head and destress, right?" He lowers his arms. "Which way to the guest room?"

Hope Summers has posed:
"No, it's cool. I'm pretty sure I could sleep on a bed of nails right now," Hope admits, not even trying to stifle the next yawn as she curls up on her chair. "You would not believe the day I had before I even got here..." She props her chin against one hand, closing her eyes...and before she can gather the energy to stand, she's already drifting off.
