Location: Abandoned Warehouse - Chinatown
Synopsis: Elektra Natchios and Jason Todd investigate the same warehouse in Gotham. They find ninja and Elektra settles an old score.
Cast of Characters: Jason Todd, Elektra Natchios

Jason Todd has posed:
Tonight there was more reason for Jason to come to Chinatown besides Mama Cho's dumplings and a couple of Tsingtaos, well I mean sure Jason did stop for both of those things before he did his stakeout but, that wasn't his /only/ reason. Word was there was (*gasp*) shady dealings in a warehouse in the area, shady dealings done by people dressed like ninja, his informant had assured him when Jason dangled him over the edge of that building the other night.

It was enough to make Jason curious, ninja usually meant League, and League usually meant trouble. The smart play would be to call in the rest of the family, so of course when Jason finishes his dinner of dumplings and beer, he goes alone, and without his costume, opting for a ski mask, tactical vest, a crap load of hidden weapons and a pair of reliable pistols for tonight's recon. If it was the League he didn't want to poke that nest in a costume as identifiable to them as his own face. He wasn't that crazy.

Though he was still crazy enough to do this solo, taking care to slip past security and up to the roof of the warehouse without being seen, hoping to score a peek through the skylights to see what's what before slipping away into the shadows again. Surely nothing could go wrong with that!

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Shady dealings in a warehouse in Chinatown?! Surely not! And with it being Gotham it's a given that trouble of the worst kind is brewing. For Elektra though it was a night for revenge, and also to find out more about Black Sky. They had found more warehouses related to it, in Gotham, in Starling and because Elektra is Elektra she had chosen to venture to one of those by herself.

One could think Elektra was altruistic, trying to keep the rest of the Defenders out of danger while she took on this threat on her own. Yet only if one didn't know her. Tonight it was about mixing business with pleasure. Black sky with revenge against whoever operatives had sold her out during her mission in Gotham a month back.

She was literally dressed to kill, in her black and red outfit, the sash bearing her Sais on her back, the mask covering her face, hair held up in a warrior's knot and her bracers bearing the rest of her deadly tools of the trade. She had climbed up to the warehouse and had been in waiting until the operatives came by and lo and behold. A scout seemed to be making their way in ...

Elektra is as silent as the shadows around her when she steps out to the open, postured some ways behind Jason. A quick kill is what was needed here. With the flick of a wrist a shuriken is brought up between fingers and then that faint, subtle shift on the wind. Something was flying in Jason's direction! Yes, apparently many things could go wrong in this warehouse!

Jason Todd has posed:
Awareness was something Batman taught all his students and Jason's League bought mentors helped him hone his awareness to a razor's edge. He wasn't as good as say a certain Devil of Hell's Kitchen, but he was good, he doesn't hear the blade cutting the air, but he does hear the faint grate of the foot against the roof when the blade is thrown and that is enough for Jason to turn wide, grab a blade of his own to fling in response as he rolls behind the cover of a rusted out air conditioner vent on the roof.

He saw one attacker, female, equipped for close quarters, he should stand up and shoot her but he's trying to be stealthy and it doesn't sound like she sounded the alarm yet. So quiet it is, as he draws a pair of fighting knives and gets ready to move.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Elektra expected some measure of training, but the way her toss is evaded and then a blade is thrown towards her makes the assassin quirk her brow. Not that she has too much time to process it, she already moving to the side as well in ways of evading the blade, slipping behind a wall and turning out of sight.

And now it seemed mostly a matter of stopping whoever this was of calling the alarm. So she doesn't stop, already in motion, blades coming out of her sash while she ran across the distance separating them to attempt and fall upon what she expected would be her 'prey'. Time was of the essence afterall.

The woman assassin jumps over that cover Jason got behind, eyes glittering with murder in them and Sais at the ready. Relentless, but nothing less would be expected of her.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason was only just starting to move when Elektra leaps behind his cover sai glinting in the lights of the city. "Shit," he curses, he was too slow and now his opponent was controlling the tempo of the fight. The kick he throws first is a half-second sluggish, but by the time he follows up with a slash at the woman's masked face to set up the stab for the heart he follows it with he's back on his game.

"Sorry, don't have time to play," he breathes as his blades flash towards Elektra.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
The kick is blocked with an aggressive knee turning up to hurt in the same time that she keeps it from hitting any vital point. So slow..., those eyes already starting to spell out easy kill when it's followed by the slash and stab. She was lunging in already so the slash rips up across part of her mask, just a very thin line of blood visible where the blade sliced through.

Her eyes narrow. Sais cross in front of her and blocks the stab to the heart, it just inches from puncturing through. Not bad at all.

"And here we were, just getting started.." that noticeably dismissive accent to her. Because for an assassin she was the type that had never really even looked to find an alternative name besides her real one. Elektra. It's not as if she bothered over much in hiding her voice. Most she met in these conditions didn't live long enough to tell on her afterall.

She follows the block with a frontal kick of her own. A vicious one aimed at the man's solar plexus.

And of course that the meeting of blade on blade was already doing some noise.

Jason Todd has posed:
Grunting as his leg meets Elektra's knee, he carries on his assault one blade managing to cut that mask but the second is stopped short by the move of her sai, the clang of metal on metal sounding on the rooftop.

The blood rushes in his ears but that accent of hers is unique, he pauses a moment wondering if this was the same woman he'd met at the Iceberg Lounge when she kicks him in his solar plexus knocking the wind from him as he falls noisily across the vent he'd been using for cover.

He doesn't have the time or breath to ask who she was, and there's no mistaking the murderous intent in her eyes, he rolls backwards across the vent dropping a knife and drawing a pistol as he comes to his feet on the other side.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
The kick deserved a follow-up of Elektra jumping over to go for the finishing blow. Yet she notes the glint of that gun coming out. And that turns her plan in a different direction. Instead of moving in a frontal assault she slides down and behind that cover. "Bringing a gun to a knife fight? Barbaric..." or is she trying to taunt her opponent. Still, guns normally aren't the Hand's MO. Or at least not often, so she does wonder if this may just be one of those pesky vigilantes that prowl Gotham..

"Who are you?" She then asks. But while she talks she attempts to find a position from which to approach. Misdirection is part of her training afterall. She slides over to one side of the cover ..., one hand tosses a Sai across to clatter on the ground while she moves through the opposite side. A simple enough ruse, maybe she simply hoping the rushing adrenaline of the fight will not let the man think too clearly.

Jason Todd has posed:
Hey guns really do solve problems! Elektra's change of plans gives Jason a moment to suck breath back into his lungs. "You say barbaric, I say effective," Jason retorts. "Po-tay-to, po-taw-to."

He takes another desperate suck of air, stepping backwards, gun up, knife in a reverse grip in his other hand. Was it her? The woman from the club? Elektra Natchios. Jason rolls the dice. "But since when did you care about playing fair, Elektra?" the question and the sound of metal against the rooftop tells him he might have been a bit tardy with his question, she was making her move.

His attention slips for a moment towards where the sai slides across the roof, but at the level he and Elektra are playing at a moment can be fatal as she makes her move Jason turns his gun calling out, "It's your dance partner from the lounge!" hoping that'd save him from having to shoot the woman or him ending up on the end of her other sai!

Elektra Natchios has posed:
A low chuckle comes from somewhere behind that cover. Hey, at least the man has some humor. Not that she will regret having to stab him, but maybe she will go easy and not go for the kill... She doesn't want a certain bat and the batlings after her afterall. And with her having found some type of neutrality with the big bat some months back there is no point in becoming persona non grata in this city..

The tension was there though and she moves to spring up out of cover but then there is recognition there. Really.., what would be the odds..? So when she stands up from cover she isn't rushing forward, simply standing there, eyes without the murderous glint. "What are you doing here..?" does seem like the dice rolled well. A-plus diplomacy roll!

And just as it was becoming apparent that their fight was coming to an end there is that sinking feeling that they aren't alone on this warehouse anymore. The fight appears to have drawn the attention of those they were wishing to avoid. Figures and shadows are visible moving in, one stepping forward from the others, picking up that Sai that had been tossed.

"Well, you have some nerve coming back here." The short woman says. She had a hand during Elektra's assassination attempt a while back, being the servant that had placed the glasses and wine in the table. One of her operatives. Tsk. "We will end you here. Kill them." she says as the band of ninjas rushes forth.

Jason Todd has posed:
There's no mistaking the killer intent in Elektra's eyes and so the gun stays raised just in case until she seems to recognize him and asks what he's doing here. "Heard there were ninja, thought I'd check it out."

Wew boy was he right, he's no more said those words than the Hand agent speaks to Elektra and Jason can see the shadows of black clad figures moving against the lights of the city.

"Guess I heard right," he says wasting no time in turning his gun on the shadows and opening fire. He shoots low though, fighting his training and avoiding aiming for center mass. Damn Bat-Rules.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"Yea? Are you regretting it already?" Elektra retorts once they are besieged by the actual ninjas (because really, Elektra is soooo not a ninja!!). The gunshots echo out in the otherwise quiet night and the aim being low means they begin to scatter away so as to avoid it. Some are still shot though, one on one foot, another on a leg. No kill shots for sure, but enough to keep them out for the time being.

As for the rest, they toss shurikens through the air, along with dart needles. Poisoned? Certainly! They whistle in the air, some hitting the position where Elektra was a split of a second ago, she rolling on the floor in the direction of an approaching ninja. As she rises up she stabs the man's hand with her sai, making him drop the katana into her hand so she has another weapon and kicks the man back to the shadows.

She then drops into a stance, katana in front and the sai on her back as she prepares herself to be attacked on all fronts. "If I die here I am coming back to haunt you." she hisses, a glance given towards the Hooded one.

Jason Todd has posed:
As he fires, Jason sheathes his fighting knife, so when his gun clicks dry he can pop the magazine and slap a new one in right away. Except by the time its in place, there's shuriken and darts coming his way.

He drops backwards to the rooftop one of the poison blades nicking the sleeve of his leather jacket. Close, but it didn't touch flesh. Though that's not his only worry, he's barely had time to catch his breath before a katana wielding ninja is leaping down at him, weapon ready to strike. Jason lifts his gun and fires into the ninja's gut, fatal if he doesn't get help but that's not Jason's problem right now. The pain is more than enough to disable the ninja and Jason grabs the ninja's fallen katana and stands. "Why would you haunt me? This is clearly your fault." He says over his gunfire as he tries to keep the ninja back from the both of them.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"I am not the one meddling in affairs I do not understand." Is Elektra's reply, jumping back and away from the approaching ninjas as they attempt to turn her into sushi with their katanas. She whirls in place, blade meeting flesh as one of the ninjas falls down. Dead or alive? Not exactly her problem right now.

Her problem comes in the form of that short woman that approaches sneakily, slicing the Sai blade across her arm. A good thing that Sais are made preferentially for stabbing, not slicing, so the cut isn't too deep. It still hurts enough, making Elektra turn and focus on her attacker. "I am going to kill you." she tells her, moving in and engaging the Hand operative, a flurry of motion as they begin to exchange blows, Sai on Sai.

Of course that seems to just be drawing her right into the middle of the remaining ninjas. Apparently Elektra isn't much of a teamplayer!

Jason Todd has posed:
"And I'm not the one who attacked me out of the blue," Jason retorts over his own gunfire. He was getting close to dry again on this mag, and not enough ninja were being dropped. He gets ready for a rush that never comes, instead seeing Elektra being drawn into the ninja's waiting blades. "Oh for fuck sake, heads up you're being baited!" he shouts as the pistol goes away and he switches his sword from his off-hand to his right and leaps in to keep the ninja off Elektra's back. Or that was the plan anyhow. Jason's League of Assassins funded training tour had included swordplay but he was far from a master, that was more Damian's thing, but he was holding his own for now.

He keeps moving, ducking low, swinging in wide arcs to keep them back, his armour was helping keeping him alive, it was pretty much going to turn their blades if they went for his torso, but his legs, arms and head were still mostly unprotected. And the ninjas' numbers begin to show, as cuts open on his legs and arms, and one even rends the skimask across his face, letting blood wetten the mask around his brow.

"Would you stop talking about it and just murder that bitch already." he calls to Elektra about her foe.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
It's hard to figure out who exactly is being baited, because her skill with blades appears close to masterful, cutting as she goes into the ranks of those ninjas, her balance perfect, feet moving in a nearly hypnotic fashion, ducking and swirling past. Her style though is very offensive, some cuts starting to show with a nearly reckless technique. But like Jason she has made sure to invest heavily in her armor, the top of what money can buy and her contacts can find so the attacks she delivers are quite more deadly than the ones she is receiving.

The woman speaks towards Elektra. "I am taking your spot." fueled by confidence, Elektra's wounds, and with the rest of the surrounding ninjas she moves in for the kill...

... Elektra appears to start panting, almost as if she'd retreat and go defensive yet in an impressive feat of quickness she springs forward, the katana tossed ahead of her.. It catches her attacker by surprise, the woman starting to twirl away when Elektra steps into her personal space, motioning with her wrist and disarming her. Both sais find themselves embedded inside the woman. "Let me grant you your wish then, Miko." Elektra whispers as Miko drops to her knees and then falls face front.

The rest of the ninja are just about to continue pressing on their advantage until she speaks out. "I claim the right of revenge upon Miko's betrayal. Stand back now and I will forget your involvement." voice full of venom.

A brief pause is found up on that rooftop, the surrounding ninjas watching both Jason and Elektra now, perhaps considering their options.

Jason Todd has posed:
Okay, Elektra may have had a point when it came to him butting into things he didn't understand, cuz, holy shit this was some weird secret society ninja shit going on right here. When the Hand ninja stop, so does Jason watching them warily as blood seeps out from under his sleeve down the back of the hands as he clutches his sword.

The odds weren't looking good before, so if the Hand ninja don't make a move, Jason won't either. "I'd take the offer, don't think she's the type to give it to you twice," he tells the Hand ninjas calmly, sword ready despite his bleeding.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
The flock of ninjas stay still for a few seconds now, watching, taking note of both Jason and Elektra, almost as if they were communicating without words to the Hand assassin. Yet eventually they do seem to relent. Blades are drawn back and they begin to move back. The fallen aren't forgotten, the only body remaining being Miko's, left bleeding on that rooftop..

As for Elektra her eyes follow the proceedings, blood also seeping from under her armor, down one arm, a gash on her back and that mask of hers half cut open from Jason's earlier slice.

Moments later they are left alone on that rooftop and Elektra exhales out slowly. "Fifty fifty on this working. Guess I was right in the end." her tone flippant, almost as if she didn't care she was on the verge of death just moments ago. She drops down to a knee, bringing her Sais out of Miko, flicking the blood off them.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason's guard remains firmly up when the ninja start to withdraw and stays up when they're gone. "Nice of them to clean up, saves us trouble with the Bats," he says. "They really going to let us walk or are we supposed to be lulled into a false sense of confidence and then they're going to hit us again?" he asks, moving over towards Elektra now, still watching the shadows. He was new to this particular game and didn't know the rules so he was leaving nothing to chance.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"We should be safe." A faint smirk visible under the cut on her mask now. "Or at least as safe as one can be in Gotham. I am certain you know how it is." Elektra replies. Once the Sais are cleaned up she slides them on her sash.

"She was responsible for what happened that night at the Ice Lounge." Well, for the pursuit at least! Because the assassination attempt was all Elektra. Details! But eventually the darkness of her gaze settles fully upon Jason. She says in a low tone. "Meddling like you do will be the death of you one of these nights.." just the faintest tinges of amusement in her tone. But then again she is aware of some of Jason's past. Dying and rebirth.

"But not tonight, even if it does seem as if you need some stitching." eyes turning down to the blood seeping out.

Jason Todd has posed:
That smirk tells him things are as safe as they're going to get right now and Jason tosses aside the sword. He nods about the Iceberg Lounge situation and looks at the woman on the ground, "Inside job, huh? Well, guess it didn't work out for her like she thought," he says before turning towards Elektra.

"So people keep telling me, but so far the death part hasn't stuck," he says.

The mentioning of stitching brings his attention to his wounds and the pain they cause, "Yeah," he says tightly, as he pushes the pain back into the corner that the fight had kept it in. "You too by the look of things," he observes before moving towards the ladder down to the ground. "So, we patching up at your hidey hole or mine?"

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"I gave her what she wanted." Elektra retorts, enigmatic as ever, eyes just briefly roaming over Miko's still form. Yet she then steps aside, moving towards the edge of the roof to look over the dark night of Gotham, one foot up on the ledge.

"One more night of staying alive then. It almost calls for a celebration." She then says, thoughtful, her tone also gaining a more strained effort to it as now that the adrenaline was subsiding so was the pain coming in.

"We are in Gotham. Might as well, take advantage of yours, mmm?" again that smirk. "Maybe when you come to New York I can bring you to visit my small place." small being the keyword.

And then she is sliding down to the ground through a pipe on the side.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason takes one more glance at the body, "She wanted to be dead?" he asks before he slides down the ladder navy style, hands and feet on the sides to slide rather than climb down. He grunts with discomfort when he hits the bottom, forgetting the cuts on his legs until he landed.

"I'm sure it's tiny," Jason remarks, catching some irony in Elektra's tone. "And sure, c'mon got a bike a couple blocks from here, we can patch up and celebrate another day of living," he says. Huh, wasn't that last bit a song lyric? "Anyhow, let's go before your friends in the pyjamas change their mind."
