Spa Night for Some X Ladies
Date of Scene: 04 July 2020
Location: The Epitome
Synopsis: Spa night with Jean Emma and Neena!
Cast of Characters: Emma Frost, Jean Grey, Neena Thurman

Emma Frost has posed:
Now that she wasnt confined largely to bed anymore, Emma Frost was eager to actually do things that got her out of her apartment. Three weeks of confinement in a cell followed by confinement mostly to her apartment has worn on her. Plus do you know how ratchet she feels, with it being so long since she's hit the spa?

So a few texts, and a club car with security bringing her to the Epitome later... Emma is already in a bathrobe, sitting in a massage chair with her feet soaking in warm water, a glass of champagne in hand. She had dragged Jean with (for values of drag) as well as extending the invite to any others Jean felt would be fun that felt up to a trip into the city.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean would definitely have texted Neema, << Spa Night? >> along with directions, since... well, it's not so much of a drag as it was an enthusiastic leaping in with both feet. Which, currently, are also submerged in warm water as she sits next to Emma. A nice fluffy crimson bathrobe adorns Jean as she sips from a Midori sour, looking quite pleased as she says, "Amazing idea, Emma. But you know I'll always come along for one of these." She grins cheerfully, definitely enjoying some time to de-stress.

Neena Thurman has posed:
The merc, the one without the mouth, is up for a spa-day, remarkably. Days of wallowing in gun oil, cleansers and such really does a number on one, and the text received was answered with a <<hell yeah>> within a few heartbeats of receiving it.

Once the name and directions are given, and stares are given at the leather clad albino. Neena takes it all in stride, however, and with a lopsided, black-lipped smile, manages to convince the staff that she's with those two lovely (normal!) looking ladies over there. Leather is exchanged for a fluffy bathrobe, and the merc looks .. oddly out of place, but she's not caring. Directed to a chair, she flumps in and raises her feet for the soaking.

"Sorry I'm late. Got stuck on the expressway."

Emma Frost has posed:
"Not too late," Emma replies with a half smile. "You must be Neena. Jean told me you were coming. I'm Emma." The bleach-blonde stretches her toes in the water, taking a slightly too large swig of her champagne. They'll bring more.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean smiles warmly at Domino when she arrives, "Glad you could make it." She grins, and nods, "Yes, Neena, this is Emma Frost, who bankrolls this for me since I couldn't afford this on a teacher's salary." She winks over at Emma, then adds, "Neena is a skilled mercenary and someone I would trust with my life." With that, she takes a drink from her Midori sour, and looks at Neena, "Care for anything to drink? I was in a bit of a mood, after the past few weeks..." Understandably so!

Neena Thurman has posed:
"Pleasure, Emma. Neena. Neena Thurman." She's settling in quickly, and at the silent promise of more champagne, sure enough, here comes the server with the tray. "Perfect." She'll take two.

Jean's glowing endorsement of the merc brings a lopsided smile once more and hands one of the small flutes over to her. "I'm trustworthy," is teased. "And always nice to meet a friend in high places." She tips her glass in toast to Emma, and looks to Jean, "To relaxing after the last few weeks." Because doesn't she know there's more to come...

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma leans back in her chair, sighing and finishing off her first glass and taking a second. "That is an understatement," she mutters. Her hand idly moves to her abdomen-- the stitches on the outside have been removed now, thankfully, but she can almost still feel the itching. "How are things at the school?" Emma asks. "How are the kids? Hank?" There is a bit of an edge to that question of course.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean sighs a bit, "As well as can be expected... and after what happened. Well, I'm forming a new team." She smiles slightly, finishing her midori just as Neena gives her the champagne to replace it. With that, she clinks her glass on Neena's, giving the albino a wink, "Which, thankfully, Neena is going to be a key part of."

Neena Thurman has posed:
Neena wiggles her toes in the warm water and when Jean takes the glass, she touches it with a *clink* and offers up the same to Emma before easing back and drinking the liquid slowly, but with obvious appreciation. "I'm just waiting for the next phase." Where she dives headlong and hopes her luck helps her win, helps them win. "So, tonight, they say, 'Eat, drink and be merry'.." For tomorrow we die?

Merc's life!

The asking after those at the School is met, for her part, with silence. Not a part of all that, but she does at least know (of) those being asked after. "You know, wouldn't mind Hank's input," she muses.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma frowns over at Jean. "Is this the thing Alex went off to meet about the other night?" She looks worried. Concerned even. Jean may catch a desperate flash of fear at the idea of something happening to Alex... and even a half-skim will show Jean the other telepath has a tight mental link, even distant, with the younger Summers. Almost like a security blanket.

She takes a deep breath and forces a smile. "Though I will be coming to the pool party at the mansion tomorrow." It's something normal again.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean nods, "It is, though I don't think it's anything you need to worry about... aside from the fact that you let him out of the apartment in jorts, Emma. Honestly?" She gives the other woman a teasing grin, then adds, "It's about a more proactive team, to deal with threats. Alex was definitely interested, and I think he'd be good for it." She doesn't comment on the link, though she might have a flash of envy there as she adds, "And I can't wait to see you at the party, Emma."

She then looks over at Neena, and nods, "Talking to Hank might not be a bad idea, either. Especially since he was one of those taken in the first place by Sinister. Though I'm not planning on dying, I think I'd rather eat, drink, and be merry."

Neena Thurman has posed:
She'd met Alex at that meeting, yes. If it's the same Alex... and yes, verified. The merc watches Emma; not hard to catch the emotion there. Don't have to be a telepath for reading tone and facial expressions. "He'll be fine," Neena adds to Jean's assurances, a quick glance flickering to Jean just to be sure. She hasn't yet taken the measure of her potential new 'teammates', and that still has to happen. It's good to know what everyone can do.

"Party?" Neena perks and looks all the world like she's liking this 'new' life, if only for the moment. Beats sewers and hole-in-the-wall safehouses! "If he goes to the party, I'll corner him. Sweet talk him," is given with that lopsided smile, and a quick wink. "Another adult is always welcome. A smart one? Priceless."

Emma Frost has posed:
"I know he was... upset... when I was taken," Emma murmurs. "I don't want him getting in over his head." She purses her lips and takes a drink. "But I trust you, Jean." She looks to Neena. "Mm, the last one was a lot of fun. I like the campus and most of the people on it." She gives a lopsided grin. "Its homey."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean smiles at Domino, "And you're definitely invited to the pool party, if you don't have a swimsuit we'll hook you up." She nods towards Emma, "X-Force is designed to stop threats before they start. How we do that... well, there's different approaches, and we're going to be trying different things. Because the current way, just isn't working as well as it could be."

She glances back towards Neena, and flashes a warm smile to her, "I'm sure Hank will be there, complaining about wet fur and all, so we can talk to him about it. Considering what my... clone, had done to him, I admittedly haven't felt too comfortable talking to him about things." Because as a telepath, you can't hide those visceral reactions from Jean. And she knows all too well what her evil twin did.

Neena Thurman has posed:
Taken? The curiousity plays easily on the merc's face; she tends to wear her emotions on her sleeve. Particularly the more base ones...

"I won't promise I can keep him safe." The abino is honest. "I'll have his back to the best of my ability, though. What needs to be done, no promises can be made anywhere for it." Even her luck doesn't save her from near death.

Neena grins at the thought of the fuzzy professor, and actually chuckles before nodding her acknowledgment. "I can talk to him if you don't think you'll get a positive answer." She's pretty sure she can?

Here, however, she drops her voice, "X-Force is a long time coming, and not everyone is gonna like it. I'm not gonna pretend we're gonna be really popular after everything is said and done, and frankly, I'm more than a little concerned about all the kids signing on. I'd rather them have a year or three with the good Professor, learning restraint before they go around thinking killing is normal." This, from Domino? Miss 'check your guns at the door'?

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma frowns. Maybe she should have delved Alex when he got back from this meeting, but link or not, they do at least give each other some mental privacy. "...what is X Force?" she asks finally. "I thought you had one of those."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean shakes her head, "We don't. Not yet, anyway. X-Force is meant to be a proactive team, to stop threats one way or another." She pauses, then sips her champagne, "It isn't meant to have killing as the first resort, but if it is necessary... then it's necessary. I don't like that, but considering what we had to deal with in Sinister, just the X-Men aren't enough."

Neena Thurman has posed:
Dom is the 'kill first, ask questions later' sorta girl. When she's called in, it means someone needs to die, and as quickly as possible without leads back to either her or the one that hired her. She's a professional.

"If it's not a 'kill first', then you need to send the others in first," is offered a little flatly. "I'm good at survivors if it's part of the mission, but being proactive might mean that hard decisions have to be made." She looks at Jean and shakes her head, her expression gentle, "Don't fool yourself into thinking it is anything but. I know it'll help you sleep better, though." She'll take the heat.

"As much as I respect the Professor, you can't assume the bad guys will stop if you show them mercy. They confuse mercy with weakness all the time."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma wrinkles her nose. She isn't exactly a... fighting team sort, herself. Her life consists of board rooms, bars, and beauty treatments. So she isn't exactly really knowledgeable in the field of mercenary terrorist freedom fighter groups.

However, despite the kinder and gentler side Alex and members of the school usually see, she was also raised to be a ruthless shark... even if that is usually aimed at the business world. "Honestly I'm somewhat glad that psychotic doctor has clones of himself. That way he can be killed a few times over. Catharthic really."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean frowns, "Easy for you to say, Emma... I had to face my own clone, and it was... a nightmare. Killing her wasn't troubling. What's troubling me is that I wasn't bothered by it." She sighs and takes a deep breath, and then another drink of the champagne, and looks over at Domino.

"Something I'll keep in mind, Neena. I'm thinking we'll be working things out in training, trying to figure out where people fit in best. And some people might not make the cut, depending on what we end up doing." She hrms, "I'm just tired of being victimized, as a group." She sighs, leaning back in the chair.

Neena Thurman has posed:
The confessions given, first from Emma and then from Jean gets a knowing nod from the only obvious mutant in the trio. (Are they getting looks? Maybe...)

Still, Jean's confession brings her hand out to give the other woman a squeeze in understanding. "You got an ear, red." She shakes her head and retrieves her hand soon after.

"That's what this thing is about. Saying 'no more' just a little louder for the folks in the back." Settling back now, Neena rolls her head to the side, dark brows rising, coupled with a sly smirk, "I don't know about you two, but a //total// massage with a hot masseur," she pauses before, "or masseuse, is what I really, really want right now."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma chuckles. "That is certainly on my agenda as well," she notes. "I swear every muscle of mine feels like its wound tight, and Alex I think still thinks I'm going to break if he touches me," and she looks slightly sulky at that. "So I'm thinking Thai poultice then hot stones. Then a good massage."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean mmms, "I think it /all/ sounds amazing. Do I have to pick just one?" She chuckles, and does look over at Domino, squeezing the other woman's hand when she has the opportunity, "Thanks Neena, that means a lot." She gives her a warm smile, looking like she wants to add something, but doesn't quite say it. Just yet, anyway.

Neena Thurman has posed:
Is that a pinking of albino cheeks? Maybe.. and she looks down at the quick hand squeezed in return before she's on to the next. "I'm just wanting someone to run roughshod over all my muscles and leave me feeling like rubber afterwards." There's that sly, quick smirk again before she wiggles her toes in the quickly cooling water. "I don't think that's too much to ask."

There's that confirmation, as if she needed any, with Emma about her and Alex, and dark brows rise and waggles, "He really needs to be told, huh." Statement rather than a question.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma hmms, finishing her champagne and gesturing for another. "Its not that, exactly. Before the whole... Sinister... thing, actually, he was quite willing to be ro--" she coughs, flushing. "Mmph. Just. I was fairly injured and he still isn't convinced I'm not still made of glass."

Another glass arrives and she downs half of it. Ahem.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean nods, "Yes, I think it's just something men do. I don't think they quite understand that we, as a whole, are not made of glass." She makes a face at that, then looks at Emma, "Diamonds, for you, perhaps... but not glass. You're powerful in ways that, honestly... I'm envious of. I mean, all that you are capable of, and I'm really just a teacher." A bit of an oversimplification, but she's definitely not a CEO or a mover and shaker.

She then looks over at Domino, "I do seem to recall owing you something, actually..." She grins, "And technically, the spa is on Emma's dime, not mine. So this doesn't count."

Neena Thurman has posed:
Brows rise anew, and there's that smirk; she's been around the block more than a few times. Married, widowed (she thinks!), flings... the fact someone is 'romantic' is sweet. "Then you need to convince him that you're not." Sounds so very simple, doesn't it? And from the way Jean sounds, completely doable.

Blue eyes dart back to Jean, the one almost obscured by her spot, and her grin hasn't foundered yet. "I'll know it when I see it, I'm sure."

Emma Frost has posed:
Romantic was NOT the word Emma was looking for. She does grin a little. "I think he will feel better once I get a final clearance from the doctor that I'm healed enough. Or if he doesn't I may just have to drill it into his skull." She sighs. "And you can have all of the above, Jean. The poultice is very nice... I love how it smells. and it's great for loosening things up." She hmms. "We should come back and do a mud bath again in a week or two."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean grins, "Deal. And I'm definitely doing all of the above. I like to think that I've earned it." Then she looks at Domino, catching that grin... and perhaps catching a few thoughts from Neena as she blinks. Then she grins back, "I'm sure you will, Neena. Shall we?" With that, she finishes her champagne, setting the glass down as she gestures towards the other room.
