A Private Post Pool Party Rendezvous
Date of Scene: 05 July 2020
Location: Recreation Room
Synopsis: Jean and Piotr have a nice quiet moment together away from the party.
Cast of Characters: Jean Grey, Piotr Rasputin

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean looks a bit tired, though that's probably due to the Sun, a few drinks, a lot of food, a lot of fun, and meeting and dealing with a lot of people. Which means a lot of minds to screen out for her telepathy, which is always a bit more draining than she lets on. Currently, the redhead is wearing sandals and her dark green sarong over her bikini, straw hat and sunglasses ditched as she sits on the loveseat, relaxing a bit in relative quiet away from everyone else.

Or, well, almost everyone...

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr is walking through the mansion, to his own room when he saw a familiar face in the Rec Room. He enters and gives a rap on the door as he enters, "Jean, are you doing all right? Hopefully the Sun didn't burn you too badly," there is some concern in his voice. The Russian takes a few steps forward and says, "Do you want something to drink?" He inquires and jabs his thumb over at the soda fountain. Piotr is not frowning, but is certainly a little worried at the moment.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean smiles, "Yes, I'm fine Piotr, thanks for checking on me." She glances over at Piotr, looking a little pink from the Sun but not too badly scorched. "I made sure that I had plenty of sunscreen, thanks to you, but a bit of water sounds delightful." She grins, "As long as you're not yeeting it at me, anyway."

She sighs and stretches, looking quite a bit like a cat that's had a long day and wants to just curl up on a convenient couch, or lap. "This was fun today, and I really did enjoy spending time with you and the others where we didn't have the world exploding. Seems like something we really should do more often." Her lips curve into a content smile as she keeps her eyes on Piotr.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr nods and walks over to the bar and secures two glasses, filling each with water and a few cubes of ice. The Russian had since finished his Dew before getting to the rec room. He walks on over and chuckles as he hands one to Jean, "No yeeting, that is how we lose more glasses," at least he can afford a bit of humor as he takes a seat next to Jean.

"Da, on both notes. Fun and glad to forget about... that," Piotr gestures to the window, "All of that out there. A respite from it all." He takes a sip and looks over, "And also, I agree, we need more of it," punctuating the sentence with a brief smile.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean chuckles a bit, and leans slightly onto Piotr. Not much, but definitely noticeable as she seems to be wanting the contact... but also respecting his boundaries. "Yeah, definitely. Not sure about pool parties, since the Sun really is my mortal enemy, but just getting together and being together, as a group. With the most drama being that Scott and Alex never quite talk as much as they probably should."

She snorts a bit at that, then glances wryly at Piotr, raising her ice water to him, "And here's to not yeeting glasses, because I really don't want to clean up that mess." She winks, then sips from the glass, her eyes staying on his.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr pats Jean on the shoulder lightly to be supportive, and in case there was a burn there he did not want to cause further discomfort. He does nod in agreement, and is clearly content and comfortable, "Da, the Sun is not kind. But more time together is good," Piotr affords another rare smile. "Though I did not expect them to have that issue, but it is a conversation they need to have, though probably behind closed doors, yes?"

The Russian takes a sip of his own from the glass and chuckles, "Indeed, glass is pain to clean up, though I am certain you could have caught it, if you can throw me, you can catch a glass!"

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean mmms, and rests her head lightly against Piotr's shoulder, sighing a bit as she relaxes, "Yeah, I can totally see Scott thinking he told him and whoops, never did. That sounds like him." She smiles wryly, "He has a tendency of taking some of these things for granted, when he really shouldn't have."

She then grins a bit, "Also, I think we should definitely have more dinners together. Because the other night was... nice. Honestly, it makes me wish I had asked you sooner." Her eyes flicker over towards Piotr, gauging his reaction to that, since... well, she's not using her telepathy here, mainly because she respects him too much to pry.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"I do not blame Scott, though I am surprised he did not say anything, but if he was expecting his father to do the talking, then it would make some sense," Piotr says pensively, "But yes, they need to talk about this more, though it seems both are very busy people."

"Piotr then looks down and and says, "Da, it was a good deal of fun," his tone with a definite mirthfulness to it. "I wish I had asked you before, as well."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean chuckles, "Wait, what, you wish you asked me?" She grins cheerfully up towards Piotr, "I... well, to be honest, I never thought you were interested. I mean, I always was a little interested..." She pauses, as if deciding to say what she's thinking, then she shrugs and decides to just say it.

"You're just so... nice. You're a good person, Piotr. And as a telepath, it just feels... relaxing. Like I don't have to be on my guard so much, if that makes sense." She then adds, "Plus, well, you did look really good in those swim trunks." Okay, with that, she gives Piotr a rather wicked little grin, followed by a wink.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr's cheeks redden a little as he processes the right words to say in English, "It is more I did not notice interest from you. Also before this summer, all the way back to Russia, when it seemed it was always work, school, and the team eating up all of my time, and now teaching, but now, even with the world ending, I get to breathe a little bit."

Piotr looks down and says, "As are you, you have never been anything but kind to me. And your swimsuit is just as flattering." Yup, Piotr is blushing, he can't hide it at this point. His words have been a little slow as he thinks, and also trying not to trip over them like an idiot.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean smiles, blushing a bit, "Thank you... admittedly, I'm glad you noticed." She chuckles very softly, and her fingers lightly reach up to touch Piotr's cheek. "I mean, I was always... it's hard to describe. You'd think being a telepath would make you more certain about such things, but in some ways I try to be extra careful." She mmms, "Particularly when it is about people that I do care about, a great deal."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr nods, a tad speechless until he finds the right words, "I think I understand? It must come with challenges and boundaries and such, da?" He burgles a sip of water before setting the glass down. "And I thank you for that, you do well at it." The reddening is not helped by the touch, though at least he avoided getting burned today, so there is no pain. "It is good to hear you care," he says with some warmth, "My power is not so... bendable, it is more yeet or no yeet, I believe are the right words for it." For once, some confidence with slang.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean grins at that, "Well, I do, very much. I've always cared about you Piotr." She hmms, "I guess I just never thought about what was right in front of me, until very recently. With everything that's been happening... well, I suppose it feels like if I never said this, then it might just be wasted."

With that, she does lean up and place a light kiss directly on Piotr's cheek, just to let him know that she might be done with wasting some of that time.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"Clearly not wasted," Piotr says with a nod. "And it worked out, as it seems it was mutual, da?" He would smile, but the light kiss causes the blush to redden a bit more, almost as if he may as well have been sunburned, "Oh!" He says, blinking a little bit, definitely not expecting that.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean can't help it, she actually laughs very softly. A gentle laugh, not mocking in the least as she places a hand on Piotr's arm, "Easy, there... I mean, I don't think you had to be a telepath to see that one coming, da?" Her eyes seem pretty amused, though in a friendly way. It's obvious that she cares, as she says, "Maybe... I should have waited a ilttle bit before doing that?" She doesn't feel like she should have, but... well, she does look a little concerned.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr takes a few moments to process, and then a warm smile crosses his face, "Only a little, mostly..." he thinks about taking a drink of water, but instead plants a kiss on Jean's forehead, mostly because of the angle makes it the easiest spot, "You did nothing wrong, I was caught off-guard, but it made me happy." There is warmth and clear comfort in his tone.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean blinks, and well... she goes a bit cross-eyed at the kiss on her forehead. Mainly because she wasn't quite expecting that, and then she smiles warmly towards Piotr, "I... thank you. I'll try to... well, not necessarily catch you so off guard?" She sighs a little bit, a very relaxed sound, as she gravitates in towards Piotr, snuggling up against his side as if she'd rather not be anywhere else.

Which, well, considering what she said about his thoughts in general, and him in general... is probably the case, as her head rests on him, still wearing that slightly silly but still genuine smile.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr rests his arm on Jean and gives a bit of a hug, "That is fair, and I will try to do the same," he nods towards her reaction and laughs warmly, "Today was a good day. And has only gotten better. Though so much for monitor duty," he laughs quietly. "Fortunately there are plenty of responsible adults out there." With that, Piotr grins and continues enjoying being away from the people, alongside Jean.
