Carrie Kelley has posed:
For a nice change of pace, as well as some good food, Carrie had suggested to Hank that they meet at the Hot Dumpling place. By now he likely would know where she meant having been here twice before. So she situates herself at a table waiting while already having ordered the standard opening dish for the table out of habit: Soup dumplings. There was plenty more they could order of course. It was just standard practice for her to always get those, too.

Her attention flits between the door and the phone in her hand as she reads over a few documents from work using the spare time to pick up some of the slack. What documents those were, though, and what work... There was plenty of both types of work to go around.

Henry McCoy has posed:
He had been enjoying the walk to the dumpling place - recalling the first time he'd ever visited. A smile crept over his face, as well as a blush, at the thought of the two free-running to one of their first dinner dates. It's clearly a good and happy place for him, with that in mind. Stepping in, he takes a deep breath to enjoy the aroma of the restaurant, spotting her rather quickly. He moves to the table to join her, a hand brushing over her shoulder before he takes a seat.

A grin to her, looking at the alread ordered start in front of her. "Are those the spicy ones?" He wonders, winking to her. "How are you doing?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley glances up at the touch to her shoulder to flash a smile at Hank in response. This was one of her favorite places to begin with, and now it had further happy connotations to go with it. "Just savory for now," she responds to the question of the soup dumplings with a chuckle. "Spicy comes later." Reaching across the table she takes one of his hands in her own lightly giving it a squeeze.

"I'm doing all right. Though I had to tell the boss you know of my job," she explains with a light clearing of her throat as she looks minorly embarassed. "He's not upset," she adds quickly. Though he had been a bit disappointed that she hadn't thought of every contigency, he couldn't really fault her for it either.

Henry McCoy has posed:
The simple touch of hand to hand brings a bigger smile to the Beast. His free hand tucks a napkin into his lap, then prepares the chopsticks. It's still taking some getting used to. "Right, savory then spicy. That way we don't go volcano and burn out our taste buds before we sample everything." A light chuckle.

There's a pause and a cant of his head as she explains about her boss. "Did it come up or?" He wonders. "And he's not upset, that's good. I hope he understands I have no intention of fishing for more information." He assures.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"In a way," Carrie explains with a soft smile toward his reassurance. "And I know you won't. No, we're dealing with a new chemical compound. Between us all we'll likely crack it, but he had suggested if we were unable to that ... Well, that you might be a resource. Unless I felt uncomfortable asking." Lighty clearing her throat she offers a vague shrug. "It seemed the right time to mention you at least know of my job. Though I don't intend to leverage the relationship for work," she adds with a chuckle. "You've got enough of your own I'm sure."

"And that is exactly right. About tastebuds," she adds nodding. "So what do you feel up for today?"

Henry McCoy has posed:
There's a nod and a smile from Hank. "I'd be glad to help where I can. Is it... well, we can go over that later, in a work-appropriate location?" The man suggests, his hand squeezing hers again. "I certainly don't mind helping you and your co-workers." His tone is quite genuine.

He collects a few dumplings onto a small plate, grinning over. "Well, we could run off some calories after we eat our fill?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley withdraws her hand from his so she can flip her phone off, tuck it away, and reach instead for her chopsticks. A few dumplings are added to her own plate as she considers that with a grin. "That actually sounds like a nice idea. It's been awhile, hasn't it? Though," she adds with a chuckle and a once-over of his form. "I don't know if I'll be able to keep up now." A little teasing wink is given as she settles back to relax for now.

"No hurry on anything at the moment, though I will pass that information along. It's appreciated. For now? Just dinner, a run, and who knows."

Henry McCoy has posed:
Hank blushes, smiling a bit. "I think we can keep a pace that works for both of us, yes?" A nod. "Worst case scenario, I pick you up and give you a rest while I 'Tarzan' my way through Gotham." A light chuckle at that. "But somehow, I think you will keep up with me. I don't think you have it in you to fall behind." The Beast compliments.

He munches on one of his dumplings, nodding to her comments. "Indeed." He says after finishing his mouthful. "We have the whole evening in front of us."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley grins with amusement at the very thought. "I'll certainly do my best not to fall behind. Though now that you've mentioned the Tarzan thing, that might be amusing to try at some point, too." Chuckling quietly she pops a dumpling into her own mouth letting her eyes fall half shut at the familiar, savory delicious bite. It was almost relaxing getting to enjoy such a meal.

"So how have things been going on your end? No new disasters I hope?"

Henry McCoy has posed:
Henry McCoy thinks on that, chuckling and chewing through another dumpling. "We had a bit of a cook out with the team." He offers, chuckling. "Good seeing old faces and new, enjoying the evening. Food, pool, fireworks..." A gesture with his hand. "All good times."
here's a wider grin as she suggests the swinging with him might be fun. "So long as you trust me, I think you'll have an exceptional time Carrie. It can be quite the adrenaline rush, with someone else keeping control of the reigns."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley just listens with a grin. "Sounds like a good time," she agrees with a solemn nod. Their own 'get together' last night had been more of an information dump to get everyone up to speed on goings on, but it was none the less good to be around family. She could understand that. Just as he's explaining the rest, she's midbite of a dumpling and nearly chokes on it.

A quick cough is given along with a pound of a fist to her chest. Red faced she manages to laugh once she's got her coughing under control. "That sounds like something someone told me once about something entirely different." Lightly clearing her throat again she nods. "I think it'd be fun to try. And I do trust you. Just, yeah, I usually am in control of my own route around town."

Henry McCoy has posed:
There's a look of concern at her cough, the man reaching to rest a hand on her elbow to comfort. "Are you all right?" There is a softness in his voice, eyes on hers. "Something entirely..." Oh... there's a lightbulb as he gets it. "Oh. My." A cough of his own, his blush spreading under his fur. "I... well... I don't think we've discussed anything like that." A slight grin. "I am almost afraid to ask who brought that up."

"We'll arrange it then? You can pick the route and I'll run us through some time?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley is still a bit redfaced as the conclusion to that thought comes, and she gives a curt nod. Right. ONWARD. Relieved the topic is moving back to the actual run she chuckles. "Okay. I can plan a route easy enough. I know the city better than most taxi drivers I imagine," she reasons with a chuckle as she ducks her head sheepishly. "Sorry. It was, ah, some interesting talk with some girls in college. Part of a psychology class."

Henry McCoy has posed:
The Beast nods, grinning a bit impishly. "Plan the route, that sounds perfect." A stretch of his arm upwards, relaxing a bit more in the seat he'd claimed. "Interesting talk." He agrees, eyes sparkling with mischeif.

"Are we on the same page? I am ... I mean, I could be confused as to what you're referring to. Could you clarify, exactly what sort of relationship activity we're talking about?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley plucks up another dumpling with her chopsticks about to indulge when he starts with that line of teasing. Her eyes narrow skeptically at him recognizing that teasing look. With a smirk she draws her chopsticks back and lobs the dumpling through the air at him. It's a gentle enough arc so he could likely catch it easily one way or another. "Tease," she shoots back at him with a laugh. "We're not getting into a discussion of that at the dinner table regardless!"

Henry McCoy has posed:
Ohoh! He is clearly embarrased as she is, but he's enjoying the playful banter as well. He does catch the dumpling in a Miyagi-like fashion - with the chopsticsk. "But it sounds like a conversation to be had." The Beast teases. "Not at the dinner table, of course." A wink, popping the dumpling into his mouth. He's doomed, he knows it.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley mmhmmmms skeptically though she's grinning the whole while. "Perhaps. In time," she utters as she turns her attention back to the dumplings to score herself another. "For now..." She pauses as she hears her phone go off with a notification, a single eyebrow raising. A look across the table to him is given before she can only shrug helplessly. "Not the 'emergency line', but..." Still. She was curious. The phone is picked up and a series of numbers typed in before she skims over the contents of the notification. "Oh. Looks like Alfred's grand-daughter will be joining us at the manor for awhile." There's a pause as her face scrunches looking just a bit troubled. "I didn't know he had children."

Henry McCoy has posed:
His head cants to the side, regarding the phone as she reads over the message. "I imagine he has a family? He seems like a worldly person, though I imagine he doesn't share too much from his personal life?" A grin. "A British quality?" He decides, placing a dumpling on her plate - a peace offering for his teasing. "When will she be arriving? Did you need to arrange anything?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Oh, no I didn't mean he wouldn't... but... Yes, you're right. He never shared that information." Carrie looks still a little upset by that. How much more of Alfred didn't she know? He was as much a part of her family as any but how much did she really know about him? "Or if he did it was so long ago I can't recall. And that's saying something. I just... I feel bad I didn't know that," she finally concludes with a quiet sigh.

"No, it doesn't seem as if anything needs prepared. It was just a notice that we'd be having company and to make her feel welcome." A smile is flashed along with a grin. "Not too hard a task either way."

Henry McCoy has posed:
A hand reaches over to rest on hers, trying to comfort. "I am certain he is the sort to keep some of his life close to his chest, just from meeting him." A smile. "I do not think he hid information with any malice, just... courtesy perhaps?" He suggests, thumb stroking over the back of her hand.
"Just make sure she meets Damian last?" He suggests, with a wink.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley chuckles faintly in agreement there. The weight of his hand on hers earns a squeeze in return. "That is a good idea at least. Damian is honestly better around people individually than he is around his brothers, but I think that's a 'trying to prove his place' situation. Which he does poorly," she adds with a sigh. "I'll worry about it later."
