Midnight Raider
Date of Scene: 06 July 2020
Location: Asgardian Embassy
Synopsis: Thor is tricked by evil Heidi.
Cast of Characters: Heidi Ingerdottir, Thor

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
In the entryway of the embassy, a tray of cupcakes has been deposited. Vanilla cream, dotted lightly with rainbow sprinkles, they seem to be very professionally done. Standing near them and looking at them as if she were admiring a work of art, Heidi seems entirely too pleased. Above the tray of cupcakes, a poem is pinned to the wall. Something about frosting like pillowy clouds. Feeling that her purpose in the embassy was completed, Heidi moves slowly towards the exit.

Thor has posed:
Of course the guards at the door will pay notice to the delivery of the cupcakes. Two of them are outside, but there are also another pair within who hold vigil there with their attention upon the hall and the incoming arrivals. It is quiet duty so of course when Heidi makes her presence known she has their attention as well as a comment asked of her.
"Lady Ingersdottir, what are those?" Bjarke asks with the tilt to his helmeted head and a look of curiousity upon his features.
The other guard, Bjorn, tilts his head, "Ah, I have seen those before. They are what the Midgardians call eclairs." A beat, then he looks at his partner, "No. Bide. They are donuts. Yes assuredly."
To which Bjarke nods sagely, "May we partake, Lady Ingersdottir?"

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
"They are the Midgardian confection known as a 'cupcake'. I have recently learned how to make them and I believe the Midgardians are fascinated with my skill." Heidi does seem very proud of the carefully decorated baked goods--they do look as if genuine care was put into the creation. "Please, do partake, but refrain from consuming all of them. I know, it is very difficult, but I do want visitors to try them. It would be very nice to show them that Asgardians are able to understand and embrace bits of their culture." She at least sounds excited.

Thor has posed:
Two looks are shared back and forth between the guards, Bjorn quirks an eyebrow toward his partner. Bjarke quirks the same eyebrow and they shrug. But it is the latter who speaks up. "Perhaps then, Lady Ingersdottir, that we wait until our shift is over."
Bjorn nods solemnly. "Indeed, best to leave a few for the visitors to enjoy, lest we become overcome by your talent and find ourselves either weak and indulging in more, or tortured so by not being able to have more."
That last is said with a slight twist of a smile and perhaps they are teasing her, but it is gently done and in earnest good will. Though Bjorn lifts his chin, "But if you have the inclination, good Heidi, save one for each of us if you would?"
But then, from down the hall, a voice raises. "Is that Heidi's voice I hear?" Loud, bombastic, and Thor's.

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
Heidi's a weird mix of being proud of her cupcake accomplishment and also in equal turns embarrassed about someone recognizing it. "Well, I /can/ bring some more by at some point. It wouldn't do if people desired more and I simply never baked again." She grins. "But I shall make sure there is one set aside for each of you."

And then there's Thor's voice. She moves to fetch a cupcake and head in the direction of the voice. Perhaps, after all, to cut him off at the pass and prevent him from noticing the bounty hidden nearby. "Ah, HAIL THOR!"

Thor has posed:
With a rush of movement she is away from the two guards who espy the approach of the Thunderer down the hallway, the blond haired giant of a man walking down the spiral staircase and ending on the last step before the valkyrie in training.
Dressed in his Midgardian finery, which is to say those ubiquitous blue jeans and the red flannel shirt he at times favors, not even to mention the brown work boots, Thor pauses there with hand upon the banister and his eyebrows risen as he espies her.
"Ah, Heidi. It is good to see you, what brings you to the Embassy on this day?" Another step takes him down off the edge of the stairs and with him starting forward toward her with an easy gait. Drawing up short before her he rests his hands upon his hips and tilts his head to the side curiously.
A glance past her is given to the guards before he refocuses those brilliant blue eyes upon her.

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
"I was, uh, making sure that the Midgardians felt welcome here. And," Heidi pulls a hand out behind her back. "I brought you a present! I made it, myself. I'm sure you've had cupcakes before, Thor, you're very well-traveled and much more familiar with Midgard than I am." She shifts her weight just slightly to try and place herself as a convenient block to his eyesight.

"But... you've never had a cupcake made by an Asgardian before, have you?!" She is going to look really disappointed if he says he has.

Thor has posed:
"Well," Thor's voice is taken aback slightly, then he lifts his chin and murmurs. "I daresay not!" As his head bobs a little with a nod of understanding. Then his eyes fall upon the cupcake proffered and he tilts his head to look back at her. "It looks lovely, I think I may have indulged in one or two of these in my time." From one celebration or another.
Yet then Thor turns to step to her and quirks an eyebrow as he makes to take the cupcake from her if she allows. "You have my thanks, Lady Ingerdottir." That said he will carefully unwrap the base and then sniff it a few times before taking a large enough bite that the icing gets a bit in his beard. He chews for a tie and smiles broadly, "Delicious. Lovely work. You would be spoken of highly if you chose to bring these to Asgard."
Which, perhaps to Heidi's chagrin, causes the two guards to look at each other. Look at the (hidden) tray of cupcakes, and decide to move toward them to take their own cakes to see what all the fuss is about. Which might bring them to Thor's attention unless Heidi acts fast!

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
"I am glad you enjoy, Prince Thor. I have been told by many Midgardians that my cupcakes are superior, so the approval of Asgard is a delight as well. Perhaps I shall have to take some there as well. I have taken to making a good number of them as of late, my friends are overly fond of it and have very large appetites. Cupcakes are not meant to be meals, but I believe some of them have decided otherwise."

Heidi is doing her best to stay a pillar of distraction, but she catches the motion near the door and does her best to catch the attention again. "Speaking of friends who very much enjoy eating too many cupcakes, I am not sure if you have met a dear friend of mine... but she is //also// a god of thunder. If you have not made her acquaintance yet, you certainly should. Kaminari is lovely! And I've taken to accompanying her to events to scare off overly enthusiastic fans in exchange for Midgardian currency. It is funny because //I// am considered the scary one in this."

Thor has posed:
There's a slight shuffle as Thor leans to the side looking to get past her only for Heidi to /instantly/ slip further into his path and his eyes find hers again. His lips twist up into a smile though his brow knits with a hint of confusion as he nods along with her words then offers in rejoinder, "I have met this Kaminari. We drank and indulged ourselves at Stark's last annual gathering. She seems a good sort, and speaks well of her that she thinks positively of your cupcakes and you."
That said he furrows his brow and looks past her, then back. "Heidi, is there aught amiss?" Since despite what Loki might say of him, Thor isn't /that/ easy to bamboozle. But his smile is warm as he then rests his hands on his hips.
    "Are you planning something?"
A beat, "Are you planning something for me?" His smile grows.
"Ah, a surprise celebration for me is it?"

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
Heidi could just be hiding anything. Anything at all. Like a tray of cupcakes she wanted to be sure she got shared. Instead of suspecting that, Thor goes for the whole surprise party. There are gears turning in Heidi's head as to how to get out of it, but that requires a lot of thought and effort. So she, instead, goes with what seems like the easiest route out.

"Why would I be planning anything, Prince Thor? And even if I was, if it was a surprise party... wouldn't that mean I can't tell you about it anyway?" Ah-ha! Now she'll just have to leave him to wonder. Part of her, however, is still slightly concerned that she's going to have to throw a party. It would have been so much easier just to let him see the rest of the cupcakes.

Thor has posed:
"Ah." Thor gives a nod sharply, but his smile is playful, "Trust I can play along, do not fear, I would not wish to stifle your creativity nor the surprise." The Avenger rests his hands on his hips and then looks past her curiously towards those guards and quirks an eyebrow, but then back to her.
"I shall not press. Though, in all truth Heidi. There is no need for such a celebration now. Perhaps after matters have settled. Tensions have eased. There is muc afoot and my time is not my own."
He smiles a little sadly and rests a hand upon her shoulder, "Try not to be too disappointed. There shall be time enough for celebration in the future."

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
"Ah, there is trouble then? Is there ought with which I can help with?" Heidi's never full on asked about such things before, mostly because he's got /The Avengers/. She's a little less of an impressive ally than them, in all matters save cupcakes. "You know, of course, that I am ever at your disposal, Prince Thor."

Thor has posed:
"Of course, and if your aid is needed assuredly you will know. There may come a time when all of Asgard will must to Midgard's aid." He says with a measure of solemnity, but then he gives her a nod. "But save what we can for the good times to come. I shall leave you to it, good Heidi."
That said the tall man lightly thumps her on the shoulder with one hand, companionably and friendly. But then he turns around and starts to walk further into the embassy.
For now... the cupcakes are safe.
