Date of Scene: 10 July 2020
Location: Bethesda Terrace
Synopsis: Meeting friends in the park is always nice, regardless of how long is spent.
Cast of Characters: Pepper Potts, Amanda Sefton, Kurt Wagner

Pepper Potts has posed:
It's actually a lovely day. There's a light breeze, the sun is shining and the blue sky can actually be seen above the trees there in Central Park, and there's no real better time to enjoy the time than now. So, dressed in a cream business suit, sensible pumps, and her red hair is pulled back in a pony tail, she's actually dressed very much like some others circling a hot dog cart. One dog is purchased, mostly plain, the other, a dog with 'all the fixings' is purchased and set aside.

Once done, Pepper steps back for the next, green eyes flitting lightly around the immediate area. It's habit, really... people watching as she waits.

Amanda Sefton has posed:
Dressed a little less formally than Pepper, but still quite presentable for the purpose of lunch in Central Park, Amanda Sefton makes her way along one of the paths, headed in the direction of the hot dog cart. "You're never late, are you?" she says by way of greeting to her red haired friend, flashing a light smile as she does. She turns the wattage on the vendor. "I'll have one, too, please," she says, gesturing to Pepper's meal. She'll take a plain one and dress it to her liking.

Kurt Wagner has posed:
Oh, he is definitely late. Several minutes late in actual fact. But in fairness Kurt Wagner had a great deal further to come and given what the normal commute from Westchester would be he is blazingly fast. He probably just should have left a couple of minutes earlier. Still, at the best of times the Mansion tends to be a little chaotic and today is no different. Still, chances are they will still be there, right?

He appears on the edge of Central Park, just on the edge of the treeline as a cloud of inky black mist seems to evaporate around him, the hint of brimstone in the air not bothering him in the least. He has long since gotten used to it. The passersby on the sidewalk closeby hardly even notice him, though a dog goes absolutely crazy, starting to bark up a storm and all but hurl itself towards the fence. Taking just a moment to orient himself, he flashes the pup a grin, wiggles fingers and *bamfs* again appearing an instant later in the picturesque square.

Pepper Potts has posed:
Pepper's business suits were once described as her 'armor', and they most certainly are. They're that bit that keeps people from approaching, from being too familiar, from asking potentially inappropriate questions regarding her employment and/or her employer. But with 'Manda?

The redhead perks up when she catches the other woman's approach, and with a genuinely warm smile takes a step forward, she'll lean in to offer a quick hug, once the dog is purchased. "I have to be," is responded easily, with a touch of a single-shouldered shrug. "Gone are the days of sleeping in." It's a rueful look to her past, but it's lightly offered. "You're not too late," she teases soon after. "I'd still call it on ti-"

*bamf*

Pepper turns around, more out of the reaction of those around her, those others at the cart and at the sudden movement than fear. It's surprise, really, and her free hand rises to her chest in gesture.

Amanda Sefton has posed:
Yeah... business suit armour doesn't scare Amanda. Her grin widens at the teasing. But the *bamf* brings a sparkle to her eyes. She lays a hand on Pepper's shoulder to calm her. "It's okay..." she says. "This the friend I was telling you about." She then passes around Pepper to greet the fuzzy blue demon with a hug. "You made it. I was beginning to wonder." She is, of course, teasing.

Then, arm light around Kurt still, she turns back to Pepper. "Pepper Potts, Kurt Wagner. Kurt, Pepper -- the woman responsible for making my transition to the US bearable."%

Kurt Wagner has posed:
Hey, Pepper should be used to flashy entrances. Certainly it would appear that Kurt is well accustomed to the reaction that they generally produce. Possibly because of that rapidly dissipating cloud of inky black smoke. Possibly because of the hint of brimstone in the air. Probably at least in part because of his faintly ominous features and the tail that gives him a faintly devilish caste. Either way he only flashes a broad grin and makes a show of offering a florid bow to no one in particular, still very much the performer at heart. Or perhaps he has just found a way to set at least some people at their ease.

Either way, the fuzzy blue elf pads over, lifting his oddly shaped hand and wiggling fingers at the two women, that bright, beaming smile still fixed in place. "My apologies for being a little late," he offers up. "Thank you for the invitation. And it is a pleasure to meet you Ms. Potts. You have done me a great favor in making it easy for Amanda to find her footing here. I feel as if it is old times."

Pepper Potts has posed:
Pepper casts a glance at Amanda in that 'et tu, Brute' look when introduced as 'Pepper'. It's amused and most certainly good natured, but it's there all the same. She's now down to only her parents calling her by her given name!

Certainly Pepper is more than used to flashy entrances, but usually she's apprised of them prior to them happening. More often than not, she's the one helping to //plan// them for best effect. A single teleport by such a person, well.. it's different. But, yes, she'd been forewarned, and the ladies had stayed up nights talking about life in general, so she had heard about the blue-fuzzed Kurt. To meet him, though, Pepper looks back at Amanda with that warm smile before she turns it onto the newly bamfed... er... arrived, and extends a hand in greeting.

"A pleasure to finally meet you, Kurt. I've heard a great deal about you." Including his charm. She waves away his next words, but it's not dismissive, "My pleasure. I don't have much contact with friends from school, but Amanda?" A glance is cast back to her friend and then back to Kurt and she continues, her tones turning slyly amused, "I think we have too much on each other."

Amanda Sefton has posed:
Amanda chuckles softly, catching 'the look' she's shot. "Yes. Don't allow her to prepare a Gin and Tonic. Just trust me on this." She emphasizes the word 'gin'... just because.

She turns, however, as the vendor sets out her hotdog, passing him a couple of bills to cover it before taking it. She moves around the cart to load up very lightly on the condoments, before turning back to the others. "I'm glad we managed to carve out this time, though." She glances to Pepper. "I was beginning to think you were chained into the office and we were going to have to spring a jailbreak."

Kurt Wagner has posed:
With the other two already having their food in hand, Kurt edges over closer to the cart in question. Teleporting takes a lot out of you afterall! In short order he too has placed his order, turning back towards the pair of old friends as he waits, those brilliant yellow eyes dancing merrily. "Those sound like the best sorts of friends to have. Ones that have seen entirely too much of what one another get up to," he suggests with a sly smile of his own.

Amanda's advice is taken with a grave little nod that does nothing to dim the mischief in his own gaze though he does murmur 'Noted' in response. "Ooooh, I would probably be very good at helping with any sort of jail break scenario," he points out with a wink and a light laugh before turning back to collect his own lunch, dressing them up suitably

Pepper Potts has posed:
Pepper smirks before laughing out loud. "Okay, okay," she holds a brief hand up and waves it, erasing whatever might be in the air.

She shakes her head soon after, her expression turning fond. It's a woman that loves her job. "I get out," she protests. "When I really want to, I can take off." Thus, here she is! "Work just takes up a bit of time."

Kurt's addition goes gain an almost impish smile, "Those are the best." Could it be the ladies have truly chatted?

Pepper doesn't get that chance to take a real bite of that hotdog before her phone beeps a message. There's a sigh and her finger is held up, "One sec.." and she digs it out of a pocket and it beeps acknowledgment. "Yes.. okay. Oh, and there's a hot dog. Yes.. on my way. Tell Happy I'll meet him.. right."

Hanging up again, the phone is replaced, and she looks truly apologetic. "I'll see you at home later?"

Amanda Sefton has posed:
"Kurt's awesome in a jailbreak," Amanda says, devilment in her expression.

Then, Pepper is -- naturally -- interrupted. She waits for the brief conversation to end and laughs at the query that follows. "Of course," she says. //She's// not the one usually at work at all hours, after all. "Go save the... StarkWorld." She grins and then stifles it with a bite of hotdog. Her eyes continue to dance, regardless.

She glances to Kurt and, swallowing, adds, "I never promised you a //long// lunch with Pepper." Good thing, too.

Kurt Wagner has posed:
As someone who has been interrupted at inconvenient times any number of occasions over the past few years Kurt can understand. While the fate of a multinational corporation has never been in his hands, the X-Men and Excalibur have been known to handle some pretty important crises too. Sadly, that kind of position doesn't pay nearly as well either he would wager.

His smile turns wry and he winks at Amanda as she makes her point. "You certainly did not. I'm just glad that I left when I did. I would have hated to miss the opportunity to meet you Pepper," he offers up lightly before that almost devilish smile reappears. "I still hope to hear any of the embarassing stories you might have about Amanda sometime," he notes with a low laugh.

Pepper Potts has posed:
Pepper offers a quick hand to Kurt, almost in passing, "It was a pleasure finally meet you," she begins before that smile turns sly once more, "You will, I'm sure." Green eyes flicker towards Amanda and then back again, this time taking the pair in. "Kurt, one night, we'll have dinner in."

Turning about, the PA begins a quick step towards her intended rendez-vous point where a big ol' black sedan waits, parked illegally...
