Caitlin Fairchild has posed:
Word spread fast; Donna had been wounded nearly unto death by the redheaded stranger she'd brought from Man's World. Chara had quickly reported that it was a sincere accident to the Queen, but rumor spread fast in the court. Eponia had firmly kept all but a few from the medical chambers while tending to Donna. Centuries of expertise rallied Donna from the brink of death, and she'd insisted that rest was the most important thing for the injured princess.

The one person who refused to quit Donna's side under any circumstance was Caitlin herself. Evening had come; torches and glowing rocks illuminate the palace and the medical ward. Donna's asleep on one of the biers, heavily bandaged and looking quite sedate despite the grievous wound. Caitlin, however, is half-curled up on a ledge opposite Donna's bed. It's not big enough for her to actually curl up on, so one hand and a foot dangles off the side. At least someone had insisted she change into a clean toga, as her borrowed armor was soiled with blood. Nearby is a copy of 'Greek for Dummies' and a few scrolls of medical techniques bearing Eponia's seal.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana hadn't even been on the island when this incident occurred. She'd taken the 'invisible jet' to the mainland, to keep up with her responsibilities there-in. But she'd said she'd return later in the evening, and thusly when the Jet touched down on the plateau outside of the city, she was met - and informed of what was happening - by some of the city's Amazonian mounted guards.

Needless to say, Diana thusly rushed to where Donna was... but she did not want to seem frantic when she was told that Caitlin was still with Donna. She got all the information she could, and arrives now with a calm demeanor about her.

The princess is wearing clothing from the mainland, a white blazer jacket that is open down the front showing off a black low-scooped top beneath it, white slacks and simple black shoes. Her hair is tied back in a braided ponytail, she would've normally changed so as not to appear 'out of place' amongst her sisters, but she wanted to come here post-haste.

Diana moves to where Donna is, to look upon her, but after a few moments she averts her gaze toward Caitlin. She First touches the side of Donna's face, then moves to do the same to Caitlin.

She knew it was an accident, of course it was.

Caitlin Fairchild has posed:
Caitlin snorts and lurches. "'m up," she declares with a stern mumble. The redhead blinks owlishly up at Diana and pushes herself up to a sitting position. "Oh! I didn't hear you come in," she tells Diana. Her face goes a little pale in anticipation of Diana's disapproval. "You look nice," she adds, quickly.

Her palm rests under her chin and rolls it back and forth to crack her neck to loosen up stiff muscles.

"Donna's okay. Eponia said she needs rest. She got a transfusion to stablize her and now it's just herbs and sleep, then some food tomorrow. I guess she'll heal fast."

Caitlin fidgets. "It really was an accident," she tells Diana. The redhead looks like she might cry, lip trembling. "We were training and she started going hard, like harder than we ever did at home, and-- and she was yelling at me to do better, to fight back, and... I kinda lost my temper," she admits.

Diana Prince has posed:
When Caitlin wakes up, she's met with a smile upon Diana's red painted lips. She waits for the young woman to rouse and sit up, then listens to what she says and turns to stand beside where she is on that ledge that is too small for her. A glance is paid to the 'Greek for Dummies' along with the other medical documents, but ultimately Diana's gaze goes up to Caitlin again, then over to Donna.

"Of course it was an accident." Diana's husky hued voice says softly, speaking quietly. She looks back to Caitlin then with her chin pointed down just a little. "Donna will not be mad at you, either. she will understand. There is experience in the wound you gave her. It is a chance for her to learn, as much as it is a chance for you to learn."

A hint of a smile is given to the younger redhead. "I might suggest using blunted weapons when you inevitably resume your training again though. Just... to spare each other from learning this same lesson again, so soon." She's kidding, mostly.

Caitlin Fairchild has posed:
"I'm not ever using a sword in earnest again," Caitlin says. Her jaw sets. "If she wants a sparring partner with sticks or something, that's cool. But I--" She shivers, and rubs her bare arms as if a chill grips her skin. "It was so much blood," she whispers, eyes looking down at the floor. She forces her eyes up to the princess. "I guess I don't make much of an Amazon if I can't even use a sword, huh," she admits. "I just don't ever want to see someone hurt like that again."

Her eyes track sideways to the reading material, and she offers one of the scrolls to Diana. "I'm figuring out about every fourth word. Eponia said I should learn some trauma care. All the Titans ever trained for was packing and sealing wounds. If I'd had a... uh.." She flips through her book. "Rheostat, I could have clamped off the vein, I guess. Donna wouldn't have lost so much blood."

"Upshot is, I think I'm going back to school when I go home. Something in medicine. Maybe biology or genetics."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana's eyes are on Caitlin when she rubs at her bare arms. There was a wind coming in over the island off of the western shores tonight, she'd felt it in the jet on her return. "It stands to example that you are arguably very good with a sword, if you slipped past Donna's training so soon." Diana replies, after Caitlin suggestions she wouldn't be a good Warrior without sword training.

The Princess steps away from Caitlin's side and moves across the room to a polished wooden cabinet that she opens and pulls a robe from within it, belonging to the medical team here. She walks back toward Caitlin with it as she sorts it out in her hands.

"Do not overextend yourself, Caitlin." She says as she comes to sit beside the redhead, and move to put the robe around her shoulders to give her some warmth from the winds behind her. "You have seemed pressured since you came here, to try and ... learn as much as you can, before it's time to leave. Which tells me that you are not giving yourself a chance to enjoy the experience of being here, as much as you should."

Caitlin Fairchild has posed:
Caitlin accepts the robe gratefully and pulls it over her shoulders. At least it's big enough she can shrug into it without much effort, and nods once in thanks at Diana at the thoughtful gesture.

Green eyes go downcast, looking at the ground between her feet. "I can't stay forever," she says, quietly. "I've got friends back home. A career. Much as I hate to admit it, I miss my laptop and my video games."

She exhales and looks out the window. "Any time I feel like I'm not training, I feel like I'm letting down everyone back home. I don't get to just pop off and take a vacation. I have to be doing something productive with it. Making their..." she exhales, "making their deaths *mean* something. I've got a lot to learn and very little time to do it in. I don't know what to do except to push myself."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana, of course, helps Caitlin put the robe on, and then puts her hands on either of the redhead's shoulders to sit beside her and offer her comfort and compassion in this moment, after the trauma of what happened it's clearly needed. She has a smile on her crimson lips, if a bit tempered and relaxed now. "Well, I have made good strides toward bringing a little bit of Themyscira with us when we leave." She tells the other then, looking to Donna, then back to Cait.

"The Queen has told me to find an acceptable location for a safe home for some of our people in the United States. To be closer to the activities that are amassing there. Such as the Avengers, the Justice League, the Titans. Once I have it established, I will be permitted two Amazons who will volunteer to join us in the greater world."

She bites down on her bottom lip for a moment of thought, before she releases it and smiles again. "One step closer to a Themysciran presence that the world can know about, embrace, and love as much as we do. And, thusly, your training can better continue, even off of the island itself. So... video games /and/ blunted swords." She tells the redhead now, grinning playfully over to her and offering a hugging embrace around her shoulders.
