Casino Night Trial
Date of Scene: 13 July 2020
Location: Recreation Room
Synopsis: Good times are had, fake gambling occurs.
Cast of Characters: Piotr Rasputin, Jean Grey, Rogue, Emma Frost, Laura Kinney, Warren Worthington, Wade Wilson, Illyana Rasputina, Rahne Sinclair, Samuel Guthrie, Henry McCoy

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
It was summer, so a great time to try out ideas for the school year with a smaller group of students to see if it is something that would work with the student body at-large.

Today's particular experiment is a casino night. Tables for craps, roulette, and blackjack are set up around the room. But what is a casino game without chips? At the front of the room is a table with baggies filled with poker chips of various colors, with whites being worth 1, reds are 5, blues 10, and greens 25.

The other chips that students might be interested in are along the wall by the usual snack station, though they are budged out a little by the assortment of pizzas there for the students. The usual soda fountain is available for everybody's use, along with a few mocktails provided, to make it seem classier (though the no-alcohol rule is still in force).

But what to do with your chips? Well, there are a few options. On another table, where a staffer stands ready, you can exchange chips for packs of soda, pizza vouchers, boxes of cookies, and similar treats; however, if you happen to rack up enough chips, there is even a mini fridge that can be acquired.

Piotr himself has taken up a station by the roulette table, which is just the pool table converted to have the wheel and numbers mat on top of the table. He is wearing his tuxedo with the crimson waistcoat and tie, which normally is not used, but he is trying to keep the event somewhat classy as a staff member. As the event has just started, the table is cleared and he awaits trouble.

Jean Grey has posed:
Meanwhile, at the craps table, Jean Grey is running bets there. The advantage of a telepathic and telekinetic table handler. One, cheating is pretty much impossible. Two, she can manage the table without any help, allowing other staffers to run other tables.

Currently she's wearing a shimmering crimson dress, matching Piotr's tuxedo rather neatly as she sparkles and seems to be having fun. Occasionally, she glances over towards Piotr, giving the Russian a warm grin.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue had gotten a summer job to bring in a little extra cash to play with, and thusly had been gone most evening the past week. However, two days off has given her time to show up to this event in the rec room, and she attends it wearing a yellow sundress, patterned with white flowers, and a sheer green shawl on over her otherwise visibly bare shoulders beneath it. White gloves on her hands go up to her elbows, and her hair is loose around her shoulders, with white bangs framing her face.

Holding a glass of tea with ice cubes floating in it, she's standing near the Blackjack table, watching some of the students play and grinning at their banter.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost has shown up mostly to enjoy the festivities. She's not really interested in gambling or the prizes, though she's dressed like a 'gangster moll' in a white short-skirted, closely tailored 'suit' with tiny black and silver pinstripes, with glorious white high-heeled pumps. Alex was stuck at work... some sort of rock-related issue, she was sure... so she was being festive for both of them. She has a root beer in hand, eyeing the tables with amusement.

Laura Kinney has posed:
It wasn't like Laura had a busy schedule. Especially since the number of the people she's acquainted with are primarily either on her 'payback' list, or somehow connected to Xavier's. And with the somewhat recent events involving Gabby and others, she'd thought it better of her to stick closer to Xavier's. So here she was, on 'casino night'.

She has taken it upon herself to wear an emerald and black flapper dress, in theme with the casino that she'd found in a local used clothing store. A pair of black heels compliment her attire.

Taking a few slow steps in to survey the gathering, the 'fun', the young non-student seems to be more interested, at least for right now, in observation rather than in participation.

Warren Worthington has posed:
Warren being Warren, the winged mutant attends the little casino night affair wearing a casual men's suit, navy blue in color, with a white silk shirt that has enough buttons undone to show off a bit of his chest. Taking up a bottle of root beer in one hand, he waves to the others with his other as he sings along to the music playing in his airpods.

"I love myself, I want you to love me.
When I feel down, I want you above me.
I search myself, I want you to find me.
I forget myself, I want you to remind me.

I don't want anybody else
When I think about you, I touch..."

He trails off as his eyes meet Piotr, and he doesn't finish the lyric. Just grins.

Wade Wilson has posed:
"....../myself/," Deadpool helps Warren, attempting to velcro to the other mutant almost immediately, and sing along. It's like Deadpool bait, something like that.

Wade is in his usual mecenary suit, but has added a chippendales style bowtie to the neck. That is the only difference to any of it: it's very low effort. But he's in a suit. Technically?

"Hi, angel. How is it you hear the song in my heart?"

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr notes the arrivals as they come in, giving nods as waves as others recognize him, though he does give a rare smile to Jean when he looks over there.

The large Russian says to the arrivals, "Come play, it is all here for you to have fun!" He takes a sip from his water nearby, making a mental note to not wear a full tux next time. Far too warm for summer. He begins getting a game of roulette started as the bets come in, and then Warren's singing catches his attention, the antics causing Piotr to raise a brow, though before he can say anything Deadpool shows up and joins the conversation, causing Piotr to just blink, "I see you two are up to mischief, as usual."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean chuckles, sending telepathically over towards Piotr, << Let them have fun, it's not hurting anything. >> She tosses a saucy wink towards the Russian, then waves at a few of the younger students, giving them a brief instruction on craps and showing them how to play.

And since they're younger kids, they manage to somehow get some /amazing/ luck at the craps table! It's really a wild and lucky streak that they've got going while Jean's monitoring things.

Look, she's not going to let /others/ cheat, but the kids are going to find themselves having some amazingly great dice rolls.

Warren Worthington has posed:
"Perhaps I know the songs of everyone's heart?" Warren says to Deadpool, grinning a little. Noticing the bowtie he nods at it. "Nice, though I hate those things. I can never figure out how to actually tie one. Also never really saw why it was the more classy way to go either, I mean, sure, ties have a lot of uses and all but really we need to bring back cravats as the epitome of style."

Hearing Piotr's accusation, he turns and points with his root beer bottle. "I'll have you know that I am never up to mischief. Mischief just happens to find itself around me, and I don't do anything to remove myself from those mischievious circumstances. Too much fun."

Rogue has posed:
A sip is taken from her tea, before Rogue looks up across the room to watch the others milling about. She spies the Merc with the Mouth and narrows her eyes at him...

She suddenly passes by Deadpool's shoulder, on her watch to the refreshments. "Nice bowtie, Sugah. No dog washes t'day?" She says to him with a sly grin before she sweeps past Angel. "Lookin' good, watch out for this one. I think he just took your wallet." She's teasing, of course! To Piotor, Rogue smiles when she passes him. "Lookin' sharp, Big Fella." But she turns to keep walking, only to have to abruptly stop when two of the students in the school rush past her, laughing and carrying cups of what look like the kooool-aid. "Careful now!" She warns them.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma grins at Jean and gives her a mild head-tilt... that 'I see what you're doing' kind of thing. She finds a barstool to settle on, crossing her legs neatly as she observes the various young students 'gambling' with their chips. It's a nice buzz in the room, compared to the worry and stress from the past few weeks that most of them had gone through, so it's a good idea overall. Go Piotr!

Wade Wilson has posed:
"I have had a wash of horrible luck lately, so I should, I figure, if the universe is feeling like it should react to karma, be a ball of luck as blissfully expressive as Domino tonight. I already bought some lottery tickets earlier, and intend to make the most of every second wherein this karma might be feeling like it should maybe not torture me so much. Rock bottom is scraping my ass," Deadpool complains in a rapidfire chatter and a grab of his own butt.

"No dog washes, no, but strip poker could be a thing," Wade suggests cheerfully. "Oh! Jean. I need to ditch you, angel." And he's bouncing off, attention pulled. "I am wondering what is the excuse for encouraging children to commit underage gambling at a school."

Wade looks at the students in front of her. "Do you feel morally corrupted? Inquiring minds are confused by the example being set, and suggest maybe you are ready to let me teach assassination as a core subject."

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura has at least met most people here, at one time or another if not directly interacted with them. There is one person, though, that she has not met. And that is Deadpool. Those intent eyes of hers focus on the man for a long few moments before she moves towards where the festivities and 'gambling' are taking place.

She's also observed the 'luck' the children are having, and so acquiring a few chips of her own she places a bet opposite that of the 'lucky' students with the clear intent of an experiment rather than 'trying her good fortune' as her attention moves to focus entirely on Jean, and that roulette wheel.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
When Piotr gets the message, he looks over to the craps table and gives a nod and his face softens a little. He then says to Rogue, "Thank you, I hope you are having fun?"

Then Piotr turns to Warren and chuckles, "You, mischief? Never," only a little sarcasm is in there. "I hope things have been going as well for you as they could be, all things considered?"

Warren Worthington has posed:
"Hey Rogue, I'll be sure to be careful." And that's when Deadpool goes bounding off over to Jean. "Should definitely be an -interesting- evening." He takes a sip of his root beer and nods over at Piotr. "Things are as good as they can be, I guess. Keeping myself busy, which is always good. Keeps the mind from wandering towards mischief and other such things." He gestures at the little casino operation. "Nice job setting all of this up, and some nice prizes up for grabs too. You're really stepping up with your organization and managerial skills, Piotr."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue sweeps past the refreshments table and ultimately ends up near to where Laura is. "I like your dress." The southerner tells the lil'snikt. She takes a sip of her drink there-after and then tips her chin at her. "You been doin' okay? Haven't talked t'ya in awhile." Her green eyes glance right and left. "Where's Gabby? She comin' t'this shindig?"

Laura Kinney has posed:
As Deadpool mentions 'teaching assassination as a core subject', Laura looks at him up, then down in a very meaningfully, and assessing way. She does not hide the fact in the least she is, indeed, sizing Deadpool up.

But then Rogue is talking to her, and she looks over at the southerner, attention shifted away from Wade and Laura nods to Rogue's observation. "I have been busy," she states, pragmatically. Further details are not provided, which is more likely to be a good thing than not. "Gabby is not coming." There is a brief pause, then.

"Gabby does spend a lot of her time here, however." Laura looks to Rogue, then to Jean. "I believe it would be prudent for me to do the same." No doubt, to keep an eye on Gabby, and help keep her sister safe.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean grins, "Actually, gambling is perfectly fine as long as you don't gamble with what you can't afford to lose." She gives Wade a wry expression, "And no, Wade, no assassination classes." She chuckles, looking to be in perfectly fine spirits.

Jean considers a moment, then looks at Wade, "Care to try your luck? We do need a new shooter here, and that is your specialty." She adds, "Besides, this is all in good fun. Which we really haven't had that much of around here lately."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"Good to hear," Piotr nods to Warren, "And da, it likely will be, though I do hope the students have fun. It is something we did in college with moderate success." He continues after the compliment, "Thank you, I am trying, though I grant that I am not the most versed in what the students enjoy, but I can try, and keeping them busy tends to keep their mind off of the things beyond campus." He gestures out that way and gives a spin of the wheel, with the ball falling on... "Red twelve, red twelve!" And he begins removing chips and paying up those who guessed correctly, in this case a few chips that were placed on red. "I am glad you have come to visit, it has been a while, da?"

Wade Wilson has posed:
"That's a fine moral line. Teaching addictive behaviors or something. But okay. I like it. Gambling is fine for kids. Entirely moral. I knew I liked this place," Deadpool says, with a bit of confusion and doubt, but he is often the crazy one, so maybe it's him feeling crazy. "I am going to set up cockfighting outside, okay? I don't have multiple cocks, but I'll come up with something that can fight if I can find Logan, and----" Distraction?

"I am the shooterest shooter, I will shoot the shoot," Deadpool agrees, eagerly offering both hands for which to accept dice.

Warren Worthington has posed:
"Aye, but you know what else is a fun college game? Beer pong. When are you going to set up the 1st Annual Xavier's Beer Pong invitational?" He takes a moment to watch Piotr spin the wheel and hand out chips to those who had good guesses. Taking another sip of his root beer, he nods. "Yeah, I do need to come be more visible around here. I'm everyone's favorite winged mutant after all."

Emma Frost has posed:
"It's not like they have many to choose from," Emma drawls at Warren with a smirk. "And gambling is fine, in small doses and as long as they realize the actual maths behind it." She smiles brightly at the kids at the craps and roulette tables. "House always wins, kids. That's why owning a casino is profitable."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean tsktsks, "One hand shooting, Wade, that's the rules." She grins, sliding the dice over towards Wade, "And no animal cruelty on school grounds, come on." She ahems a bit, as if a bit of a warning for Wade to keep it at least PG-13 rated in front of the kids.

"Alright kids, have all the bets placed?" With that, she grins at Wade, tilting her head as she makes a gesture for him to place his bet and take the shot.

Rogue has posed:
After another sip of her drink, Rogue nods in agreement with Laura. "I think it would too. I mean, it helped me a lot, so I'm speakin' from a biased point'a view." She cracks a slight grin then. "I'm rootin' for ya t'win the mini-fridge, by the by. So good luck, get all them green chips." Her grin blossoms for a second before she turns to walk toward the kitchenette area of the rec room, past the roulette table once more, giving it another glance. Ultimately she ends up at one of the bar chairs and perches upon it's edge to watch the party as it unfolds, oh, and there's a pretzel bowl there too! Wooo pretzel bowls!

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr facepalms. "I am sure you mean root beer pong," he says politely, "And if so, perhaps," he inclines his head towards the kids around the table, "And use water in cups, more sanitary." He nods. "I am sure you are the favorite winged mutant, Warren. There is not much, how you say, competition." Piotr chuckles, "But da, you have plenty of friends here."

Wade Wilson has posed:
"YOU called Logan an animal, not me. Although I also do that. Wolverine calls himself an animal when he calls himself a wolverine and that is... yes right," Wade pauses, and then blows on the dice (entirely ineffectively since he has a mask on). He then pauses, and walks /away from the table/ with the dice.

"Blow," Deadpool asks of Rogue, offering her the palm of craps dice. Yes, he entirely intruded into their conversation. But not to worry, if someone blows on the dice, he'll go back and throw them. That's sort of the result of giving Wade some kind of responsibility with something.

"What about puppies? Like which one licks the other one the most. We can bet on that."

Laura Kinney has posed:
"I will do my best," Laura promises Rogue with a measure of agreement. There is all kinds of things one could do with a mini-fridge, afterall. Laura places several chips down on '9'.

She looks, then, to Deadpool. "I was not aware there would be fighting." She still has trouble with sarcasm, and jokes. "If you require someone to fight Logan, I will do it." She looks at Jean. "How many chips will I win when I beat him?"

Warren Worthington has posed:
"Wow Emma, rude. I mean, it's true but you didn't have to -say- it, sheesh." Warren gives her a fake little pouty expression, then looks over at Piotr. "Et tu, Piotr? I am wounded. WOUNDED." He shakes his head and lets out a theatrical sigh. "Anyway as for the beer pong... I mean, sure, I guesssssss it could be root beer pong, but part of the fun is getting tipsy enough to where it causes all sorts of shenanigans."

Illyana Rasputina has posed:
Unlike some people, Illyana aims to be fashionably late. Any number of irrelevant reasons amount for entering the would-be casino unattended, blonde hair loose and a bustier dress with a sheared skirt doing wonders for looking the part. She carries a bottle with her, more than likely full of water stained by flavouring enough to give it a reddish kick. Not wine, not with her brother right there, despite having a perfectly acceptable argument of legal drinking age.

Semi-legal, anyway. The swirl of people in the recreation room might almost be enough to send her right back out, but she cannot do that when Rahne is right there. Way to be brave, girl. "This reminds me a good deal of Monaco without the beaches or the implicit likelihood of acquiring alternate transportation," she deadpans.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"Seems Emma and I agree on this," Piotr chuckles, "Though I think you are quoting... Shakespeare?" He winces a little in the guess. The joy of not having to read the Bard in high school. "But here they are to be safe, with minimal and safe amounts of mischief."

Illyana's arrival is noted with a nod, "Little sister! Glad you could join us!" he then gestures for her to join them. Though during this time he does look over to the craps table to see what is going on over there.

Warren Worthington has posed:
"Am I? I dunno, I saw it on a History Channel show one time." Warren shrugs, then gives Illyana a smile as she enters the room. "Illy, please tell your dear brother that beer pong is more fun and exciting than root beer pong and that we are all trusted individuals who can keep to a uh... 'minimal and safe amounts of mischief', even while consuming beer. It's beer, not vodka! Otherwise you're going to have to come up with a few extra rules to keep the games fun and exciting. Oh... maybe strip root beer pong? Granted, 18 year olds and above, but that would remove the alcohol component."

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
And Rahne is, actually, right there with Illyana. Which could be considered somewhat odd, considering that Rahne was very specific in her points about not going to Monaco with the rest. Something about dens of iniquity, bastions of sins, incorrigible influences....you know, the usual. Still, when Illyana asks if Rahne is going to the quasi-casino, it is awfully hard to resist.

Of course, it does help to know that Piotr is watching over things, too. That *may* have influenced Rahne's decision more than a little.

So, in she walks, wearing a dress. Yes, a dress, with shoes and everything. After all, it is a special occasion and Little Miss Barefoot does own shoes, even if she doesn't wear them often. There is a headshake with Monaco mentioned while Rahne responds. "And ye wonder why Ah didn't wanna go. Ah knew that nuthin' good was gonna come of it." Still, Rahne is smiling...so at least she isn't being too serious.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is sitting on the edge of a bar stool near the center counter with her back to it, her legs crossed and a glass of tea in her right gloved hand. She's chewing on the edge of a pretzel with the one known as Mister Pool approaches her to ask for the dice-blowing. Her green eyes go down to the hand with the dice and then up to the mask and its white eyes looking at her. "If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me t'do that..." The southern girl replies in a smoky-hued voice. She smirks then and leans forward to oblige, a gentle gust of breath toward the dice in the hand. "Now don't jinx'em. That's high quality luck there, I promise ya." She takes another sip of her tea then and smiles brightly, offering a wave to Illy and Rahne when they join the party.

Illyana Rasputina has posed:
Is a Piotr-run casino a real casino, or something like a Regency ball with everyone performing lovely line partnered dances to perfectly civilized entertainment? It could be just that impressively arranged, timely devisings of games that offer a hope of winning and completely fair rules. Isn't that how such timely events of fortune and fun are meant to go? But then they have that Deadpool guy yonder talking about trouble and Warren suggesting that Illyana do something personally about the choice of libations.

She lifts her water bottle to her lips, taking a sip of the strawberry-stricken contents within. "Da, sunrise over the cliffs and the fish in the aquarium were so sinful. That tuna, certainly up to no good." It's a deadpan joke in deadpan delivery as she meets Warren's gaze with those pale blue eyes. But Monaco is a good memory, and must be, for the easy way the pair play off of it. This new suggestion... well. "Ett mirakel av vatten i akeviten," she murmurs in a singsong voice. "How many items of clothes are /you/ wearing?"

Piotr may want to cover his ears. And armour up. She waves to Rogue, her brand of warm enthusiasm actually being a smirk.

Wade Wilson has posed:
Rogue was left a dollar, she asked for it, and the Pool abides.

Why Deadpool had some singles in his belt might just be best left unexplained. He got his dice blown, and that's all that matters at this point.

"There's no fight if I can't corner the people gonna do it," Wade assures the Laura, whom did show interest in what he was talking about. Wade shoots a few more times at Jean's table, with mostly dismal luck, before he drifts like a tumbleweed to, perhaps, procuring his puppy lick-fighting ring in the outside area....

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie comes walking in looking about the room. Sam is wearing a long suit coat, dress pants, and a black gambler's hat. Sam comes in looking the part of the classic riverboat gambler. He steps in and scans the room, seeing what all is happening, and who all is here.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr sighs as Warren speaks and makes it worse as he brings up the last game, "No, that would not work. There would be problems." He snorts in amusement, knowing it is a joke and then Illyana joins in. All that he can do at this point is just rest his face in his palm as the ball goes swirling around the wheel, and a few kids benefit from the particular spin.

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
"That's not what Ah'm talkin' about and ye know it!" Still, the comment is punctuated with a laugh, so at least Rahne is in good spirits. "Truth be told, Ah didnae think it be all too devilish. At least until ye decided tae try tae acquire that 'alternative transportation.'"

Wandering over towards a gaming table, Rahne watches with a somewhat disinterested air. After all, she does have her personal views. But, again, this is all for fun, so Rahne is willing to be flexible with this one time. Those green eyes of hers follow the roulette ball, watching how the game goes before maybe, just maybe, she decides to join in.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura's expression frowns, as she watches Deadpool move away, not necessarily in disappointment at the lack of a potential sparring match with Logan, but the rather on trying to figure out the insanity of Deadpool and properly categorize his strange shifts and behaviors, off from most people she's met to be certain since she found her freedom.

Instead, she turns her attention to the newer arrivals, Illyana whom she nods to in silence even as the other moves to converse with Warren. She looks back, collects her remaining chips and finding that she's a little worse for wear for having bet at Jean's table, compared to the younger students and turns. Rogue has given her a mission, afterall. She has to win the mini-fridge.

She passes Rahne as she moves in her jade and black flapper dress, pausing to look at Rahne, "Hello," she says, remembering that it's polite to greet people in such a manner. "Are you familiar with the game? It is not very complicated." She, apparently, misreads Rahne's hesitation as unfamilarity with the game. But at least she's trying to be helpful. So, it's a start, right?

Warren Worthington has posed:
"Moi?" Warren asks Illy after her sing-song murmur and question. "Um, do socks count as 1 or 2? Otherwise the answer to that question would be 5 or 6 depending on the sock issue. Oh, I guess shoes are a thing too, so uh, 6 or 8."

At that moment his phone starts making some buzzing sounds and he reaches into a pocket to check on whatever text he got. "Ugh, I hate to be rude, but I need to make a call. I'll return in a bit, and if not.. just be proud of yourself for getting this together, Piotr. It's an awesome little event for the folks here at Xaviers."

Henry McCoy has posed:
The Beast steps into the rec room - an unfamiliar sight as of late. The doctor was keeping to himself, or jet-setting to other locales. There's still the tension in his form, still the doubt in his eyes. Still, one cannot hide forever.

Evening all." He offers with a wave, nodding to his friends and family.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"Sam, Hank," Piotr says to the two new arrivals, and looks to Warren and sighs as the conversation remains on that particular topic, though before Warren departs, Piotr gives another nod, "Thanks, I'll see it polished up a bit for the school year, iron out the wrinkles, I believe the expression goes." He then gives Laura a polite nod, "Laura."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looka over nodding to those here. "Piotr." He greets the other back. He smiles a bit at Rahne, and says "Hello Miss Sinclair, Miss Rasputin, your both looking lovely tonight, he says to his friends in compliment, and absently rubs his stomach a moment

Illyana Rasputina has posed:
"Hank," Illyana greets the teacher entering in their wake. She hasn't joined into the games at the moment, distracted to some measure. Seeing Warren taking his leave, she is left in something of a considering state with her gaze turned with brevity to the window, perhaps stealing some purpose out there into the vantage of greenery and stonework. Slipping up to her brother allows for a measured greeting and, finally, a nod to Laura on the other side. "Simple rules are good," she agrees.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue takes another sip of her tea as she watches Deadpool play the dice. She smirks at the Merc with the MOuth, then slides off of her chair -- taking a second to sweep her dress good and iven around her legs -- then moves around the counter to set her tea glass down upon it. She looks up when Hank saunters in and waves a white gloved hand in his direction. "Heya, Fuzzy Doctah." She says over to the one known as BEAST. She shoes some of the kids out of the kitchen, then leans down to open one of the cabinets to fish around at something inside of it... "Laura's gonna run the tables and walk away with that fridge!" The Belle suddenly announces to the whole room with a loud voice while she digs around inside of the cabinets of the kitchen counter, clearly trying hare to find /something/!"

Henry McCoy has posed:
Hank nods to Piotr, then Illyana. "A bit of charitable games of chance?" He wonders, moving closer to take a look at the setup. "Roulette?" He asks, glancing to the others. A grin to Rogue. "All sorts of games of chance? No Domino? No Gambit?" The Beast muses.

"There must be something big going on if they are missing this..."

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
The look that Rahne gives the passing Laura is one of almost complete bewilderment. It...isn't often that the two has spoken to one another and usually there was a go-between at the time. The question catches the Scot off-guard...and she ends up answering truthfully as a result. "Sorta. Ah don't tend tae gamble much." The eyes shift to regard the roulette ball, then back to Laura. "Basically, everyone bets on where that lil ball is gonna end up. Dependin' where, with what colour and all that determines who wins. Least, what Ah have been seein'". Rahne shrugs softly. "Just was always told that gamblin' issa sin, so never wanted tae try. No good tae be sinnin', ye know."

The greeting from Sam is returned with a simple wave. It isn't polite to break a conversation either, regardless on how peculiar it may be.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"Just some recreation for the students, mostly wholesome, though at least they can work on probabilities and chance with it, I'm no math teacher, but they do at least help with that," Piotr nods and looks to Laura, "You're going after the fridge? How many chips you got?" He gives his sister a nod and a wave as she slips by.

Illyana Rasputina has posed:
"Charitable? I do not know about that. Is there a stake anywhere?" Illyana replies to Hank, giving him plenty of opportunity to fill in the gaps on her knowledge. She slips over towards that window perch where it's easy to watch but not be pulled overly deep into the mix, possibly for the act of, well, watching.

Gambling in Limbo looks substantially different, to say the least.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura looks away from the roulette wheel to look at Rahne. In an almost logical, emotionless tone, the clone replies simply, "I was always told that I was nothing more than a weapon." There is a pause, enough of one to allow the penny to drop. Then, she places half her chips on 'black', and tells Rahne, "Find the truth for yourself."

She looks up to Piotr, "Piotr," she greets him, in an even tone that is neither friendly, or unfriendly. Then again, Laura really doesn't have a 'friendly' tone, in general. Not yet.

"The stakes are the mini-fridge that I am going to win," she states with as much confidence as she might show in battle. Laura lives, afterall, for competition. That's one thing she learned from The Facility that's unlikely to leave her mindset anytime soon.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will get a few chips, and heads to stand near Illyana, as he watches the blackjack table. The young man studies the players and dealer a bit as he decided if he wants to play the game or not.

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
There is most definitely a moment or two where Rahne just...looks...at Laura. Another one of those wide-eyed stares, before Rahne turns away, her cheeks flushing as red as her hair. Quietly, she states, "Ah was always told that Ah was goin' tae Hell. That Ah was born of sin and incapable of salvation..." The information isn't offered as as response...but more an internal thought spoken out loud. Perhaps loud enough to be heard.

But...that second part strikes the redhead. Find the truth for herself. That...is going to stick with her. A flicker of a glance back towards the table, and a decision is made. With what few chips she has been given (for she certainly hasn't played anything to win any more), Rahne places them on 'red'. It is only after she has done so does she glance back to Laura...and just shrugs. As if saying 'why not?'

Henry McCoy has posed:
Watching the goings-on, Hank grins. "Apparently appliances are up for stake, Illyana." He chuckles, finding a place to take an awkward seat. He's still getting used to his new physiology.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr nods to Laura and listens to the conversation of the others, though now the bets are on the table and he carries out his duty to spin the wheel again, and it falls on black 20. Piotr winces a little as he sorts out the winning bets from losing, paying the former and taking from the latter. "Would you like to try again?"

Laura Kinney has posed:
If Laura is aware of the impact of her words to Rahne, she doesn't show it. She frowns, intent, at the table when she ends up losing half her chips, but she nods to herself as if only becoming yet more determined. And, she places the other half of her chips - all of them - back on black again. Betting the odds, at least, as she sees them.

"Congratulations," she tells Rahne.

A brief look to Hank, and then Sam, making sure she's aware of her surroundings and those within even if the most of her focus is on the game at hand and those around her. "Piotr." She looks the tall man in the eyes. "It was not my intention to abuse your hospitality. It will not happen again."

Laura hasn't figured out 'I'm sorry', yet. But she's close.

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
Well...that was unexpected. The one time she places a bet, and Rahne seems to win. She is certainly surprised, it would appear. It was almost as if she expected to be struck down then and there...and instead was rewarded for taking a chance. There is a moment of consideration, then she walks over towards Laura, dropping her chips into the other's pile, with a single word given.

    "Thanks.

Then, Rahne just walks on. Past the roulette table and onward, without a second glance back.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Henry is unconcerned at the glances from Laura, having found a comfortable pose finally on the chair. Sprawled cat-line, his golden eyes are slitted as he watches Laura bet the proverbial farm. As Rahne then drops her chips in with Laura's, he seems confused.

"Congratulations. A mini-fridge?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will move to play a bit of blackjack. Sam was more hoping for poker, but might as well have some fun. He is dressed the part of the riverboat gambler, and should act the part. He does seem to enjoy it.
