Memento: Chasing Butterflies
Date of Scene: 15 July 2020
Location: Chelsea Market
Synopsis: Some shoppers converge over noodles, capoeira, and strange drawings.
Cast of Characters: Mori Merritt, Daisy Johnson, Natasha Cranston, Vivian Vision

Mori Merritt has posed:
The Chelsea Market is kind of cozy for a commercialized indoor shopping mall. Really, it's more like they decided to take an outdoor market vibe and bring it indoors with dark brown flooring and wide industrial beam ceilings. It's got its own flavor, rather than feeling like purely a place for taking your money.

Today's an average afternoon, not terribly busy today, though the restaurants and food stands have their usual lunch lines--it's a popular spot to drop in mid-day for a meal. A coveted lunch table in front of a noodle shop seems to be taken over by Mori Merritt. An empty noodle bowl is pushed to the side while an open text book is in front of her. She looks just like any other average lunchtime visitor, save for the fact she's staring blankly at a wall instead of the book in front of her.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daisy needed cozy today. After a SHIELD mission where one of their Agents had been killed on her watch she was welcoming the distraction to come out here and just not be an Agent for a bit. Dressed casually, jeans, a shirt, sneakers, she was walking down the mall, currently looking for toys for her new cat.. Because it was about time it focused on something ELSE than on scratching at her arms and hands (And she had the scars!)

Still, there was a distant look to her while she made way, past shops and then to the food area. Comfort food? Sounds fine for a break ...

Natasha Cranston has posed:
Natasha has been taking her job as CEO a bit too seriously too often lately, and with no meetings on the docket she can't safely dump on her long-suffering underlings it's time to play hooky. She pretends to be cheerfully deaf to her secretary's calls as she walks out of her office, tosses her phone at the security guard on duty in the lobby, and is out the door and into the back of a taxi before anyone can come after her.

"Manhattan, Benny," she tells the driver, who only chuckles and turns into traffic as she digs a hairtie out of a pocket and puts it in, her hair color shifting from a lustrous black to a poorly-dyed blue.

A few minutes later, "Jenny" steps out of the back of the cab as it stops at the Chelsea Market, taking a moment to stretch and tug her shirt into place. Capoeira practice isn't for a few hours yet, so she's got time to take in the sights, have something to eat, and contemplate a parkour run along that sweet stairwell...

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian isn't really interested in the restaurants or food stands, at least not for her own benefit, but Chelsea Market has so many other stores that it makes a perfect place to find a house warming gift. She's using her typical holographic disguise to make her green hair seem like it came out of a bottle, her skin look caucasian rather than pinkish red and her faintly luminous yellow eyes look green. School might be on break but there's no need to cause undue panic by strolling around while obviously synthezoid.

Even with the disguise her movements look a little odd. She heads from location to location in unusually direct lines, her route too efficient to feel natural to any observers, without ever actually getting in anyones way. As if she's changing course in response to movemets in the crowd she shouldn't really be able to see.

Mori Merritt has posed:
Mori's expression is calm as she stares at the wall near her, but there's something in the air that seems to completely snap her from that. It's not in a /violent/ fashion, but she's startled enough that she falls backwards in her chair, up ending the plastic table and sending everything flying. The (thankfully) empty bowl ends upsidedown nearby, the book's seems to have at least fallen in a safe position, but Mori's on the floor looking... confused as she seems to be trying to piece together what just happened. She sheepishly smiles so that it doesn't look /too/ out of place. Oops?

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daisy Johnson stops not too far from where Mori is, taking in a breath, stretching her arms... What will she have today? A good ol' burger? Steak? Yes, break the diet...

A sigh later and the Dark Side has won and she is just about to start on her way to a burger stand when she notes the woman falling back. A blink and she approaches, lifting one hand.

"Hey, are you alright?" She asks, some concern visible on her expression. She leans in just so, extending one hand to help the woman up if she chooses to take it.

A faint smile creases through the lines of her expression. "No need to go violent with the noodles.."

Natasha Cranston has posed:
Jenny had been looking wistfully at the menu listing of the noodle place -- the smells are delicious, but eating heavily just before energetic practice is probably a bad idea. She turns around at the noise, idly snatching a flying utensil out of the air before it could hit someone, but doesn't move any closer so as not to crowd the fallen girl, given that someone is already helping her...

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision pauses at a food stall alongside the noodle shop. It's not Mori suddenly falling over which makes her pause, although that was odd, it's the stranger catching utensils out of the air. Besides it seems like the helpful passer-by is her IT teacher and the unwritten rule about spotting a teacher outside of school? Pretend you don't know them unless they call you by name.

While she's playing at idle browsing a few subdivisions of her mind fork off. One to compile the prices of various food stalls and restaurant menu options into a database, another to check the online reviews for each location and a final instance of Viv to look up every dish and rate them for nutritional content.

Mori Merritt has posed:
"Oh, uh, yeah!" Mori's already getting to her feet but the offered hand is accepted as she gets up. A little assistance never hurt. "Sorry, I do that a lot, very accident prone and clumsy, that's all. The noodles are great, I swear." She points at the empty upturned bowl. "Not that my word really means a lot here." She awkwardly moves to try and turn the plastic table upright again. It's unlikely she noticed the trick with the flying silverware as she seems to be too busy with trying not to embarrass herself. "Sorry if I startled anyone," she says in a louder-but-afraid-to-be-loud tone towards those nearby.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The focus on helping Mori made Daisy not really notice the Shadow's knife tricks, an understanding smile given at Mori. "Was just worried, is all." she reassures the other woman. "But glad to see all is well." a quick glance then given to the noodle stand.

"You say the noodles are alright?" Maybe she will be taken back to the 'light side' again and not actually go for diet-breaking burgers. An amused chuckle escaping her. "I think it will beat the alternative I was lookin at." she helps right the table but then spots a familiar face not too far..

And there goes the rule! "Hey Vivian. How are vacations going? Trying out the noodle place?"

Natasha Cranston has posed:
The knife is deposited on a nearby table with some quick sleight of hand, and Jenny turns back to the menu as the situation seems to be resolving itself without any more help being needed.

Vivian Vision has posed:
There is a momentary pause as Vivian blinks a few times while rolling back her visual memory to see if she noticed the title on Mori's book, just on the off chance it was worthy of note. Only then does she waves to Daisy. "Good afternoon Miss Johnson. I'm not thinking of getting any food at this point in time. Although I am looking at places to suggest for a relative who has moved to the city. Which was unexpected, I didn't actually know I had an Aunt at the start of the week..." She shrugs. "I will however take a look at the menu if you are both recommending it."

And when she says 'a look' she isn't joking. The teenager heads over, standing next to the mysterious knife catcher, looks the menu up and down and that's it.

"Is there a specific dish they are known for?"

Mori Merritt has posed:
It seems Daisy's not going to get her confirmation about if the noodles are good or not and Vivian's not going to be recommended a dish, because Mori's paying attention to... something? The noodle bowl, her chair, and her book all remain abandoned on the floor as she studies what looks like the sale for the shoe store across the way. 25% off wasn't exactly shocking, but Mori's attention remains in that direction, her brow furrowing in confusion. She swats at something in the air, like a gnat, but still remains mostly fixated in the direction of the sign.

The book seems to be on art history directed towards an artist rather than a history student.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"An Aunt..? Well, discovering family members can really be an adventure.." And Daisy could go on a dissertation about it! Though instead her focus goes back to the absent Mori. "Mmm, seems she's really not ok." a look is shared towards both Jenny and Vivian as they are both the closest to what's going on, then back to Mori.

Reaching over to the chair she brings it closer to Mori. "Do you want to sit perhaps? This heat is giving everyone an hard time." sure, justify it as an heatstroke. But Daisy is no doctor. And .., she does take the bait..

Eyes wonder in the direction of that 25% discount. Not great.. "Do you want a glass of water?"

Natasha Cranston has posed:
"I haven't eaten here myself yet, but a friend of mine swears by the chili soba noodles," Jenny replies to the girl that just joined her at the menu. "Of course, he prefers stuff he can cram into a cup and eat on the way back to his car so he doesn't lose out on valuable fare time, so take that with a grain of salt."

Jenny looks up at the girl, "It probably also depends on how spicy you like your food..." she continues with a sheepish grin.

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision turns her head to try follow Mori's line of vision, zooming in to study the shoe store & sign at eighty times magnification. A portion of her mind also hunting various electronic signal bands and for any unusual audio outside of the usual Human hearing range. "If you want I could call the emergency services? An ambulance could be here shortly." She could provide the exact response time but words like shortly and soon seem more reassuring to people than a distinct number. Especially if traffic makes that number bigger than people are expecting.

She glances to Jenny and frowns. "I always eat hot food," she states. Sunlight is hot right? "But I have no clue what she likes. I don't think Russia has a reputation for hot food though. I'll have to ask."

Mori Merritt has posed:
Vivian's senses don't pick up anything out of the ordinary. Whatever's going on with Mori, it's not exterior. And thankfully for them, the slight sensation of the chair near her as it's pushed close causes Mori to look back. "What?" She seems confused as to what was asked of her, but she smiles again immediately after, as if it'd soothe any fears. "Hm, maybe I'll get another bowl. One doesn't seem like enough today."

Is she pretending she didn't know something happened? Does she not know? It's questionable either way, but she certainly seems just as normal now. She moves to pick up the book and the bowl and return them to the table before she looks towards the menu. "I'm always a fan of the soups, the broth they use is absolutely wonderful."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daisy blinks once, continuing to observe Mori for a few moments but then lifts her shoulders. She seemed back to normal so ..., onwards to the noodles! She joins the rest of the gang, hands returning to the pockets of her jeans and she peeks towards the menu.

"Think I will go with the chili soba ones. I do like spicy afterall." a brief grin towards Jenny and then her attention turns to Viv. "A Russian aunt? See, it's as I said, an adventure in itself." a chuckle escaping her lips. "You should had brought her here."

Natasha Cranston has posed:
Jenny shrugs. "I'm going for something light, I think. I've got a roda in the Park in about two hours, not a good time to stuff myself," she explains, looking over the menu for some of the smaller dishes.

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision shakes her head. "Unfortunately she's busy with a family emergency right now," she admits solemnly. "It's not really something I can help with at this point in time. But I am sure it'll turn out fine." Depending on how much clearance Daisy has she might well know Vivian Vision is, shockingly, the Visions daughter. Perhaps she even knows that a Russian Red Room trainee claiming to be Hank Pyms daughter is under SHIELD supervision.

"Are you sure you are okay?" she persists, frowning at Mori while comparing her displayed behavior against various online medical books. "You are acting a little..." A rather pot & kettle statement.

There's a lingering look of concern, then brushes her hair back behind one of her ears and glances back to Jenny. "Roda? Are you planning a trip to Greece?"

Mori Merritt has posed:
Mori sets her textbook down on the table before fully making her way over to the others. "What, me?" She waves it off. "It's fine. Just a neurological thing I'm dealing with." It's the best explanation she can give. "No need to worry about it." She looks at the cluster, then back to the menu. "Or maybe I'll try the chili ones too, a little spce can't hurt." She rubs the back of her neck.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Ah! Good choice.." Daisy says of Mori going to her choice as well. She signals the waiter so she can put in her own order before she glances at Vivian. She hmmms, a bit above her clearance though she knows a few things about Vivian .. Though all she gives her is an odd look, thoughtful for a few moments. Something to look into for sure!

And as for the roda.. "I got .., no idea what a roda is." a glance between Viv and Jenny.

Natasha Cranston has posed:
Jenny gives Vivian a somewhat baffled look as she tries to figure out what the girl meant, then her frown clears up and she laughs out loud.

"... Oh! No, not Rhodos, 'Roda'. It's Portugese for 'Circle' and it's what you call a Capoeira practice performance."

Vivian Vision has posed:
"Okay, if you're sure," Vivian replies before, perhaps a little unethically, prying electronically just enough to ensure Mori will receive some 'official' looking rankings of the states top neurologists. Ones that somehow skip her spam filter entirely... She glances to Daisy and then adds "It's a village on the island of Corfu in Greece. Designed largely for tourism." And then Jenny points out that's entirely wrong. "Ahh." She looks back to Daisy. "I retract my previous statement."

Mori Merritt has posed:
"Oh, dance? No wonder you're going light on the noodles," Mori says, though she does seem excited about the idea. "That seem cool to watch. I haven't really been getting out as much lately, cause of the thing." She gestures vaguely at her head, though the mention of the island in Greece, she grins. "That /also/ sounds cool. One day I'll do some kind of travel. Probably not for a couple of years, but that sounds like it might be a nice place to go."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Capoeira.." Daisy murmurs, giving Jenny an appraising look. She had heard of that fighting style afterall! "Was never able to try that one, but it's been on my list. It mixes dance with martial arts, doesn't it?" but she then looks across to Vivian. "Well, you were close enough, Viv." some teasing never hurts! And she even winks at the synthezoid.

Her eyes finally fall on Mori. "So this has been happening to you?" she gestures to the table where the woman was sitting just a while back. "You really should see a doctor if you could."

Natasha Cranston has posed:
Jenny nods at Daisy's question. "That's the basic idea. The short of it is that back in seventeen-something when the Portugese were still holding on to their colonies, they didn't want their slaves to learn how to fight, so they disguised the fighting art into traditional dances, which they were still allowed to perform. And even after they didn't need the disguise anymore they kept the traditions. A good Roda is as much about dancing, style and showing off as it is about technique."

A last glance at the menu, then she nods. "I'll take the Teriyaki noodles, I think."

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision frowns. "I wonder if I should take a martial arts class," she muses possibly just to herself. "Although I'd be worried about accidentally hurting someone." People are far too fragile after all! "I don't think Capoeira would work for me though. It seems.. too flashy?"

She takes a little side step out of the way of the menu board just as a passer-by is opening their mouth to ask if they can get past.

"Miss Johnson I didn't think the school was quite so dangerous that the teaching staff would take such interests in martial arts."

Mori Merritt has posed:
"Dance and martial arts, I don't know that I'd be good at either of those things." Mori does pause, however, as if wondering if she /could/ be good at either of those things. "That'd be amazing to watch, though. All that history there." She looks towards Vivian for a moment. "It's always good to be able to defend yourself."

At the mention of the prior incident, she looks over at Daisy. "Oh, yeah, it's been a while. It's actually much better. I could barely get out of bed for like six months. Wasn't sure where I was half the time cause it was too hard to focus. Now it's just episodes most of the time." The mention of the doctors gets a grin. "Tried that a number of times. There's... nothing wrong as far as they can see. No weird tumors or anything, I'm just okay until I'm... not. It's improved over time, so I'm just hoping it'll just keep going away."

She laughs. "Sorry for the deep stuff there, sometimes it's just easier explain it than to have people worry and freak out. I have /certainly/ scared some people before." She gestures at the table. "That's the mild stuff."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"It's also fun though. Maybe you should pick up on Capoeira, Viv." Daisy then giving her a bit of an 'up-and-down' look, "Could make you lose some of that stiffness, eh?" another wink. She can't help teasing the student. Talk about teacher privilege!

"And it's more of a personal thing, I like being able to protect myself. Spent too long not knowing how to. But thankfully I have been getting a few good teachers."

She looks towards Mori, mm'ing, then appearing to be thoughtful. Her brows furrow. "I might know someone who can perhaps help." Daisy, always the helpful one! She reaches inside for a card and extends it to Mori.

"Give me a call, I know a doctor or two that may be able to have a look. They deal with these more ..., different conditions."

Natasha Cranston has posed:
Jenny laughs again at Vivian's comment. "Fair enough; Capoeira is almost /all/... 'Flashy'. It's about rhythm and feints and constantly staying in motion so your opponent can't tell what's just another feint and what's the actual attack, or which way you're going to move."

She gives Mori a smile, then nods at Daisy "If it's flexibility you want to learn, Capoeira is definitely a way to get it. It was full-body exercise long before aerobics were invented."

Vivian Vision has posed:
"While it might seem like a flaw I think my 'stiffness' is actually a blessing in disguise," Vivian explains earnestly. She can after all increase her density to seventy tons. It's not exactly a martial art but most people find punching a walking anvil problematic. "Still I shouldn't entirely discount it. I'd be best doing proper research to see what style would work best for someone of my height and build."

She gives Mori what she hopes is a sympathetic nod. "May I ask what book you were reading?" Thanks to the wonders of an internet connection she's technically already downloaded a copy and read it during the course of the conversation. Not that art is a topic a synthezoid with a disabled emotional core can really understand in any depth!

Mori Merritt has posed:
Mori looks Daisy as she takes the card. "That sounds fine by me. I haven't had much luck with most doctors. Most of them think it's psychological because they don't see anything but..." She shrugs. "Not exactly what I'd call the experience. I tried to convince them to do one of those cool tests where they see what areas of your brain light up when you say certain things or are asked about certain things, but... doctors don't just do tests when you ask them."

She looks towards Vivian. "Oh! I'm taking art classes. Well, not just classes, it's for a degree, I'm just working on what I've been practicing since I was a kid. Photographic memory, so people kind of get weirded out by the detail when I draw a face."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Yea, the ones I know are .., rather thorough." Daisy murmurs. Though she does skip the part on where SOME actually go around in wizard hats and robes. No need for that. But Shield's team SCIENCE was all about the weird cases, and a consultation wouldn't hurt. "We will set something up. And by the way, I am Daisy Johnson." she points with her thumb towards Vivian. "I teach at Happy Harbor's. Vivian here is one of my students." she says.

Eyes then go back to Jenny and Viv, "A blessing in disguise, Viv..? I sort of doubt that.." but does she know about that density augmentation? Most likely not! To Jenny she asks. "Was it easy for you to find classes to attend? I run a bit of a weird schedule so ..."

Natasha Cranston has posed:
"Not at all," Jenny replies, digging into a pocket and pulling out a rather crumpled and worn but still colorful folded pamphlet. "Aside from the public Roda we've got regular practice three times a week, come-as-you-can. Graduations and belts are a lot more flexible than what you'd see in conventional martial arts; generally the evaluation is more about how good your style is than what techniques you know..."

Vivian Vision has posed:
"No you're lucky if you can stop them doing tests long enough to eat breakfast..." Viv laments. But then she knows some very different doctors. "Personally I find it strange that other people can't perfectly recall everything. It's so useful I would have thought natural selection would have favored it." It does at least explain why she only glanced at the menu. She smiles at Daisy "I'm much stronger than you'd think to look at me."

Her brow furrows "Do all martial arts grade themselves by belts? That seems unusual given the varied cultural origins. Or is this perhaps a more modern innovation?"

Mori Merritt has posed:
"Photographic memory isn't always... a good thing," Mori says that with a tone of seriousness and almost a slightly pained look. "It might seem like it is, but sometimes there are reasons the brain just lets you forget. Sometimes it's better. It's easier to explain things in pictures, though, so I draw things." She pauses, moving to the messenger bag she had almost forgotten near her chair before she pulls out a sketchpad.

Flipping through so the others can see, there are all kinds of drawings. Realistic charcoal sketches of people, beautiful sunrises, as well as strange locations that seem foreign to earth's landscape with different shades of skies and bright colors of dirt. Several pages have some king of drawing on them that are rendered impossible to make out due to the large charcoal scribbles over the top of it to block it out.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Two people with photographic memory? That's rare enough that it makes Daisy's gaze turn more alert, studying each. Her attention is only broken when it's time to receive those noodles. And they do smell great! "Don't like to me, Viv. I saw your Phys Ed scores last year." but she is grinning, as if there was some kind of secret between them. Not that she opens up about it, instead looking at Jenny.

"Might join up with you someday. As I said, I have always been curious." A smile given.

Her eyes do get drawn to the drawings after, "Quite beautiful. You draw them all from memory then? Places you have been, people you have seen?"

Natasha Cranston has posed:
Jenny smiles at Daisy as her order comes up and is delivered. "We're always happy to see new dancers," she replies. "But for now, I gotta dash. We'll be dancing in Central Park for a while, drop by if you've got time!"

With that, she takes slightly better hold of the food carton and sets off at an admirable clip, using her free hand for leverage to vault the handrail rather than go around, disappearing from sight with a couple of alarmed yells from onlookers and a hasty "Sorry!" that doesn't sound very sorry at all as she hits the ground floor, barely slowing down to open the door...

Vivian Vision has posed:
"I said I was strong, but that really has little to do with how motivated I am during phys ed," Vivian points out with a grin. Her Phys Ed scores, like most of her academic performance, seem to be statistically average more than is statistically average either she is adjusting them in the system or deliberately getting things wrong so as not to stand out. "I'd really rather skip the subject entirely."

All the while she's talking she's also capturing high resolution scans of the drawings that're being studied, cross referenced and compared with images published online. You never know when a constellation or skyline will match up with a real world location.

"Do you ever sell your work online? I am sure there would be a market for exotic landscapes. Especially for science fiction novel covers."

Mori Merritt has posed:
"Yeah, almost all of it is stuff I saw. It's a way to process it. It's all in my head already, because I remember it all, sometimes drawing is a great way to get it out and let go," Mori notes, glancing over. "It's... also sometimes an easier way to explain things to people. Describing things you don't know how to explain is easier in picture form."

She waves in Jenny's direction as she heads off. "Good luck with your... roma?" She may have a photographic memory, but she doesn't always remember everything else. Her attention moves back, still focused on the present, the here and now. "I don't really often sell them, they're kind of... personal, I guess. Sometimes I'll sell people portraits, they like it. Or maybe a landscape of their home."

It's true. The internet doesn't really seem to have any of the drawings on them, but the stranger landscapes seem completely unique. The regular landscapes do seem to be based on real places--stars line up exactly and everything, giving a perfect time and place to where she was when she drew them. The stars in the 'strange' landscapes? Perhaps random, as there seems to be no known pattern to them, but they seem like a plausible star system.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Yes, I do enjoy how you make it be all be so .., average." Daisy seemed like she had more to say on it, yet when Viv mentions wanting to skip the subject she follows it. No need to press! And she doesn't want a 70 ton synthezoid angry with her too!

"I ..., see. I will be honest, I never really considered how someone with a memory like yours would deal with it. Painting .., sounds like a good way." a nod then given to Vivian. "And you both seem to have that in common at least. Maybe you can help each other." she murmurs.

And then she asks. "Where was that one from?" she points to one of the shown drawings of a sunrise.

Vivian Vision has posed:
"I am after all a normal girl living a normal life," Vivian offers with another smile. Lucky for Daisy at seventy tons Viv can't actually move nor does she get angry. "My memories have never really been a problem to me." The memories of her brother on the other hand... "I just tend to file things away in a 'mind palace' of sorts. Like in that TV detective show."

Just for fun an instance of Viv plots every Earth location on a map and approximates the time if possible. The possibly alien skylines she just stores for now. After all if they are plausable then finding the right planet means working out the sky based off inaccurate observations from this planet. Besides there's no concept of how recent or ancient they all are. It's entirely possible the light from those stars has yet to reach Earth.

"Anyway I should probably resume my shopping," she decides. "I have to find a house warming gift and deliver it before it gets too late or I'll get stuck in traffic on my way back to the dorms."

Mori Merritt has posed:
Mori looks at Daisy for a moment, then back at the sunset picture. "Starbucks on West Broadway. There was a venti cup of something hot on the counter for Rachel, and I could see a blender between the vanilla and the hazelnut syrup bottles." Clearly not a sunrise, but she did answer the question. Her gaze quickly looks towards Vivian, perhaps grateful for the temporary distraction.

"Oh, right. Good luck with your gift shopping, traffic is awful. Nothing worse than being stuck in traffic." She offers a wave.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"That's rather detailed." Daisy grins, but would she expect less from someone with photographic memory? When Viv announces going back to her shopping she nods. "Take care, I will probably see you back when school starts, mmm? And good luck with your new aunt." again the odd look. But she offers a friendly wave of farewell.

And then she is digging into her noodles. Spicy indeed! "Argh, hot.." she mutters quietly. But she notes the difference on the answer not exactly being the sunrise.

"Is that Starbucks where you painted that drawing though, or where you captured the sunrise..?" a brow quirking up.

Mori Merritt has posed:
"That's where I /remember/ the sunrise. I drew it later when I was sitting on the grass in Central Park. A woman was walking a golden retriever," Mori takes a moment to look at her sketchbook. "There's a lot like that. Kind of like a chain of places and things I've seen. It's not exactly the easiest to explain. The drawings tend to help. People often think visually. It's one thing to think up something in your head, it's another to /see/ it. I could describe something to two different people and even if they heard the same thing their drawings would be different."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Ok so..." Daisy pauses on the noodle-eating, lips pursing together. "You remember the place where you recalled it." a nod. "But not the exact where of the first instance - On where the actual sunrise was?" or at least that's as much as she is getting right now. Granted, she knows tech, but this goes a bit above what is her usual kind of work.

"Though I may not exactly be getting it right now. Mmmm." she digs into the noodles again, considering. "And how long has this been happening with you?"

Mori Merritt has posed:
"Oh, I mean, I saw it there. I was sitting in the Starbucks and there it was. For me, it was right there. If I didn't see it, I wouldn't be able to recall the details. That's the trick with photographic memory. So, I saw that sunset, felt the heat, smelled the earth. In Starbucks," Mori shrugs a little. "As to what was there around me? I don't know what it was or where it was or when or how or /anything/. I just saw it and felt it like I was there. Might be really weird vivid hallucinations, but I dunno what would cause it."

There's a long pause before she continues. "About a year now. The first six months were brutal, I could barely get out of bed because it felt like I was somewhere else 90% of the time. Now I'm just... drawing pictures of sunsets I see in Starbucks."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The woman jerks her lips to the side, considering Mori's words, clearly something was off here. Not that she was the type to be able to just figure it out with a snap of her fingers. Not exactly a 'brain' like some of her friends. But she could at least offer help. "I am serious about that call." she says. "I know people that can be of help, and good ones too." she offering a reassuring nod to Mori.

"Did you feel as if you were living someone else's life?" That's weird enough BUT, she had recent contact with someone possessed with a spirit of their ancestor sooooo.., not that weird all of a sudden.

Mori Merritt has posed:
"You ever play around with one of those VR headsets? It's kind of like you're there, but you aren't really /doing/ the stuff? You're just watching. Sometimes it does feel like someone's life, there are moments where I see things and I hear things and it seems just like it's a daily occurence, but it never stays the same." Mori grins. "Kind of weird, I know, and kind of hard to explain, but you've been patient. I appreciate it. A lot of people get weirded out so I just say it's a neurological condition and it explains it away. Daisy Johnson has posed:
VR headsets! That makes Daisy grin. "Oh, I have indeed." and that seems to make it click. A nod as she now understands as much as she can. "If anyone can explain it, they can." whoever those mysterious friends of hers may be!

Mori Merritt has posed:
"Mori. Mori Merritt. And it's really been nice to meet you. Kind of glad to be able to explain things to people who aren't just convinced I'm hallucinating badly, so the chat was quite nice," Mori grins, giving Daisy a nod and holding up the business card to show she still has it before she tucks it away. "Good luck with your shopping. I'll try not to flip any more tables today."
