Cast of Characters: Johnny Storm, Nessa Donovan, Siobhan Smythe, Karen Starr

Johnny Storm has posed:
Well, it's July, and that means good weather and all the fun stuff that comes along with that. Tonight however, that means a trip to Fire Island for the Fantastic Johnny Storm, a luxury yacht sits moored off the 30 mile long barrier island, this one with a large '4' emblazoned on it, leaving no doubt who it belongs to, but the sun has gone down, and that means bonfire time on the beach, the fire provided conveniently by Johnny Storm himself, with hot dogs, and all the makings for S'mores, as well as all the wonderful things you might want to drink like Champagne! Whether you were invited out on the outing, or just show up, the place is public after all!

Nessa Donovan has posed:
'Good weather' usually keeps Nessa indoors. After dark, though, she's able to blend in a bit better. It doesn't look out of place to be wearing long sleeves when it could get chilly on the beach at night. A pair of jeans and a long-sleeved baby blue shirt, complete with black gloves make a less conspicuous outfit in the evening, but not typical beach goers attire by any means. But she's there, making her way closer to find a smore and doing her best to look like this is absolutely the kind of crowd she hangs out with. Spoiler alert: not very convincing.

Johnny Storm has posed:
A flare of light signals Johnny Storm transitioning from the yacht to the shore, his hands the only thing not covered in flame, as he brings reinforcements, two more bottles of Champagne in hand as he flies from deck to beach, when the fire is snuffed, he's left wearing a pair of board shorts and flip flops, revealing he's still in impeccable shape, despite his age, and he flashes a grin towards Nessa, "Glad you came!" He says, "You really should have used this as an excuse to go out in a bikini, it's not like you were going to freeze to death or anything." He says, setting the two bottles down with the rest of the food things.

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
The fire is something that attracts attention. Siobhan had a lot to think about and came out this way to walk on the beach and think. She wasn't used to this landscape. Her beaches were at the bottom of cliffs rather often. She used to walk along those cliffs, sometimes playing dangerously close to them. Somethimes thinking darker thoughts. Sometimes just thinking happy thoughts. Either way, she was looking down when she hears and notes the fire, looking up and blinking a few times at that. SHe pauses a moment, having walked into some kind of get together and she shakes her had, before turning to walk around it. She wasn't invited after all.

Nessa Donovan has posed:
"Right, sure, vast amounts of exposed skin in a space with a good number of people. You really want me to ruin your little shindig here by wearing a /bikini/? You sure live dangerously." Nessa folds her arms over her chest, glancing towards the boat for a moment. "So is this how the other half lives? With fancy boats and champagne?" She's about to continue, but she does spy Siobhan making her way down. "Hey!" She calls over. "Come crash the party, I hear the guy bankrolling this is loaded and absolutely doesn't care who takes all his food." The look she gives Johnny is one of utter innocence.

Karen Starr has posed:
In the twilight hours of Fire Island, most of the patrons are finishing up and departing the beach, no longer able to sunbathe or swim. As the beach begins to become mostly vacant, and Johnny begins setting up his pyromantic display, the sun setting in the sky and turning from that brilliant, fading orange to that midnight blue, a lone figure stands upon the boardwalk.

Similarly, next to that heroic figure is a small metal cart. The polished aluminum of its sides bear a stylized logo of a skull, mouth opened, a chunky, brownish morass spilling from its jaws. Around the skull, in elegant text, are the words "HEART ATTACK HOT DOGS"

Much less heroically, hunched over somewhat, at the moment not-quite standing at six-foot-three, the blonde form of Power Girl bites mercilessly into the first of three chili-covered sausages-in-buns.

"Sorry to make you stay late, Greg. There was this tremor in California and,"

It's then that the flareup from Johnny catches her eye. She raises a brow but, for the moment, remains on the boardwalk, not exactly far from the festivities she wasn't even aware of.

Johnny Storm has posed:
"Well, I think most of the wealthy don't actually try to make the world better." Johnny says with a laugh, "And the yacht is by and large green powered." He says with a little grin, making a big of a gesture and creating a flame construct of the words 'Free Food' and an arrow pointing down to the food as Nessa offers it away, "And, I've been accused of living dangerously before, you're not the first." He gives a nod towards the woman making her way up towards them, "By all means, hot dogs, S'mores, champagne."

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
A blink as she is called to and Siobhan looks over at Nessa with a confused stare, "Oh, hey. You get around." She chuckles and walks over toward the group and looks at the situation. She looks over at the fire and then at Johnny before she blinks a few times, "Well, you seem to be rather free with that fire." She smirks even as she approaches and stares, "Champagne, hot dogs, and s'mores? It's no whiskey but I suppose. Certainly not heard of S'mores and champagne." Siobhan nods her head and that Irish accent is heavy and obvious even as she looks over the options and starts making a hot dog, "Thanks for de food den." She chuckles and nods, "How ya been, Nessa?"

Nessa Donovan has posed:
"Good on you for going green on your giant party ship," Nessa glances between Johnny and the boat with a small grin. "But you /are/ giving away food so I'll give you that one. One point." The grin extends to Siobhan when she heads over. "Seems I do get around. So do you. I've been well, working too hard as usual, but..." She looks towards Johnny. "You don't have any whiskey, do you? Not a real party for the Irish-blooded without some whiskey."

Karen Starr has posed:
Finishing up the first chili dog, Power Girl scoops up the other two and continues to boggle about what's going on on the beach. It's about when Johnny puts up the giant sign about free food and, presumably, drink that Karen's interest traverses curiosity and enters something approaching opportunistic curiosity. Nodding her thanks to Greg the hot dog guy, Power Girl takes to the sky in a quiet float...

...And lands some short distance from the fire, bringing the second of the three chilidogs up to her mouth and taking a bite.

"Where'd all this come from? Seems pretty sudden."

Johnny Storm has posed:
Sudden or not, it's still a cozy little beach party with a Fantastic Four themed yacht sitting off the beach a ways, and Johnny Storm doing pyromantic displays. "I could get some whiskey yeah, there should be some on the boat I'm pretty sure." He adds with a little laugh, "But yeah, help yourself to hotdogs or S'mores to your hearts content." He nods his head towards Nessa, "So who's your friend?" he asks curiously toward Siobhan.

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
"Siobhan." She states simply enough and nods her head, "Siobhan Smythe." She then idly takes a bite of her hot dog before looking over to Nessa and smiling, "I just walk places and trouble finds me." She shrugs, "Not my fault." She nods before she blinks over at Power Girl and tilts her head, "Jeeze." She states, "Bigger in person." She clears her throat and takes a bite of her hot dog before nodding her head to Power Girl.

Nessa Donovan has posed:
Nessa's attention briefly goes to the sky, mostly because she saw someone or something flying. Not catching who it was or where they went, she's about to continue when she sees that what she caught sight of a moment ago was Power Girl. Thankfully, she's not one to get too star struck (as evidenced by Johnny), and she offers a friendly wave in PG's direction. "Who are we mere mortals to protest when a wealthy guy decides he wants food on a beach and women in bikinis?"

She moves to make up a s'more, glancing between Johnny and Siobhan. "Her name's spelled much differently than it sounds," she points out before looking back to Siobhan. "Trouble's tricky like that. At least trouble's bringing you a hot dog?"

Karen Starr has posed:
On occasion, Power Girl decides to not hear- or at least pretend that she didn't hear- a comment or two. Idly munching, she makes her way over to the trio, two of which had noticed her already.

It technically might be called sneaking up on Johnny- as he hadn't seemed to have noticed her presence yet- but she isn't exactly being quiet about her approach.

"I'm interested in hearing how you spell Power Girl."

Johnny Storm has posed:
"Well, I didn't exactly get my women in bikinis today though." Johnny retorts to Nessa at her snark, and he flashes a grin towards Siobhan, "Nice to meet you. Johnny." He says, making his way to collect up a bottle of champagne and a few glasses, holding them by the stem. The arrival of Karen, while it might have been sneaking up on him, the other two did go out of their way to comment on her arrival, he's just a little later to notice her than them. "Well, welcome to the party. S'mores? Champagne?" he asks curiously, holding out the cluster of glasses in his hand to the others.

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
A look over at Nessa and she chuckles before she looks to Power Girl, "I think she meant my name, not yours." She states simply enough and then she nods her head as she looks then to Johnny and smirks, "Yeah, I don't usually do bikinis." She shrugs, "Not in my nature." She gestures to herself and nods, "What ya see is what you get." She nods and smiles even as she finishes off her hot dog and then looks to Nessa, "So, what kind of event is run by a man on fire and attracts someone like Power Girl?"

Nessa Donovan has posed:
Nessa, taking it all in stride, looks over in Power Girl's direction. "I guess I'd spell it A-w-e-s-o-m-e?" She flashes a grin. Regardless of if Power Girl had actually heard the context of the original comment, she planned on rolling with it. "Sounds like Johnny's sure out of luck with his bikinis today." A gloved hand picks up a smore, and she bites into it while she listens to what everyone else is saying.

"The kind of event where you have someone bored with a lot of money who probably wants to have people come hang out with him but he doesn't know how to do it without throwing some money and some flare around." She says, making sure to finish her bite before talking. She winks at Johnny as if to say 'no hard feelings'.

Karen Starr has posed:
Karen conteomplates that offering for a few moments, "Thanks for the welcome," she begins, "I'll take a s'more soon. Got to finish one more of these." Saying that, she pulls in another bite of chili-sausage deliciousness. How she can eat like she does and still maintain -that- figure is pretty much peak Kryptonian Unfair.

"That's a good way to spell it." she admits, having finished the bite, "Somehow don't think there'd be enough women in bikinis for our host, even if there were plenty. But, that's just a guess." It's a shot across the bow, of course, but a friendly one.

Johnny Storm has posed:
"Hey, it's no lie I like pretty women around." Johnny says with a laugh, "But if I really wanted bikini clad women around, there are /no/ shortage of modeling agencies here in New York that I could find some from." He says, pointing a finger a little towards Nessa, "So, what brings the famous Power Girl to our humble beach party here?" he asks curiously, "Not that any of us mind, mind you." He says with a flash of a grin, and he moves to hand one of the glasses to Nessa, then one to Siobhan, and then goes to uncork the bottle.

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
Taking the offered glass, she laugh sa little at the response and shakes her head, "I still feel like I'm intrudin'. Dis is far richer environment dan I'm used to even if it is just on a beach." She nods and smiles before she looks over to Power Girl again and hmms as she listens to her, "Quality over quantity for me." She shrugs, "But to each their own." She then looks to Johnny and chuckles, "See previous statement."

Nessa Donovan has posed:
"I suppose you could have just hired a bunch of models to put us all to shame, so I'll be grateful you didn't," Nessa points out with a smirk. As the glass is handed to her, she takes it with a gloved hand. "Certainly glad I didn't even /try/ for the swimsuit. It would have been a terribly embarrassing experience. Not to even mention how pale I am. That skin /never/ sees the light of day."

She looks to Siobhan. "Nah, if I can be here, you can be here. Half my day I'm avoiding bacon grease and the other half my nose is in a book older than most of us combined. You don't get much poorer and more uninteresting than that. You fit in /just/ fine."

Karen Starr has posed:
"You definitely could have, but I don't imagine how well a group of models would have faired when there aren't a bunch of spotlights to catch them from the right angle. Better not to have your guests on your payroll, too. You made the right decision." Offering an approving nod, Karen pulls the last bite of the dog into her mouth, and it's gone after a moment.

Plucking up an offered s'more, Karen continues. "It's the beach, you don't have to be in a swimsuit, let a lone a bikini. Helps, though." Quietly, she takes the first bite of the s'more, and she's nodding along as she chews, commenting between bites. "Oh, yeah, would've put us all to shame."

Johnny Storm has posed:
"A lot of people do use their money for that though." Johnny says with a nod at Karen then laughs, "And I think anyone here could rock a swimsuit if they chose to. But, it's a valid choice not to afterall. I myself, will always rock the humble board shorts." He says matter of factly as he goes to pour champagne, finishing off by pouring a glass for himself.

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
A blink at Nessa and then she smirks, "I'm Irish." She states to Nessa, "We'll have to have a contest to see who is more pale." She chuckles and nods to her face before she looks over at Karen briefly and nods her head, "I suppose that is true. I am here and I don't have a bikini." She states simply enough before her eyes to Johnny and rolls her eyes, "Honestly, I prefer stuff like that to typical bikinis anyway. More comfortable." She chuckles and nods her head.

Nessa Donovan has posed:
"I'm pretty sure we don't need a beach signal flare to be seen from space," Nessa looks down her shirt and lack of exposed skin. I'm absolutely sure you'd all be /ashamed/ by that." She takes a sip from her champagne once its poured. "I'm Irish /and/ I've been avoiding the sun as much as possible since I was 9. I will happily take you up on that challenge. I can almost guarantee Johnny will offer to judge." She looks around the group. "I just don't do the beach thing. I mean, maybe at night but even then things tend to get windy and cold."

Karen Starr has posed:
"A whole lot of people, more than a few of them named Stark." she comments, offering this little chuckle at that. There's a shrug, and she listens to the comments from the other two women. "Listen. I'm sure Johnny is chomping at the bit to let you guys know that basically everything you're saying is wrong." A pause, then. "So, I'll let him. Mister Storm?"

Johnny Storm has posed:
"Well, I'm not sure what I'd tell them is wrong." Johnny says with a laugh at Karen's comment, "If they want to wear bikinis, wear bikinis, if they want to wear an outfit like yours." He gestures to Karen, "Wear it, if they want to get into a contest judged by me over which one is more pale, so be it." He says, "People should be able to wear what they want without any judgement levied on them, beach or not. And, it wouldn't be the first beach bonfire I've been involved in that was visible from space."

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
A smirk to Nessa and she shrugs, "Fair." She nods her head and then looks over at Karen and blinks at her, "Not sure my being pale is right or wrong." She chuckles before she shrugs and looks over to Johnny and nods, "Good attitude, I suppose. I prefer this." She gestures and nods her head, "It's a pretty good outfit for me." She then looks her gaze back to Nessa and nods to her, "So, how do you know this guy?" She gestures to Johnny.

Nessa Donovan has posed:
"Well, this is mostly for the safety of others, so I can't say it's exactly a fashion choice. Not sure what I'd go for if I was actually given the chance. I don't think I've ever actually worn a bikini anywhere," Nessa shrugs a bit, glancing briefly to Power Girl. "Is he as much of an asshole as he looks on TV? I can't quite tell if he's one of those /real/ assholes or the ones who just kind of play up the public image." She shrugs, then looks between Siobhan and Johnny. "As for how I know him, I told him not to get anything on his nice suit when he was eating a burger. I guess I like making sure no one makes grave mistakes and ruins suits. But, as it turns out, he's just supporting his local drycleaners so all is right with the world."

Johnny Storm has posed:
The banter goes on for a while longer there on the beach, confirmation on just what sort of person Mr. stark is may have to wait for another time, however many S'mores are consumed, as well as plenty of champagne, at least by Johnny if nobody else. Eventually the night winds down, Johnny will put out the fire, rather efficiently, and retire back to the yacht, offering to take any of the others who may not wish to spend the night on the island back with him the short distance to civilization!
