Science isn't so....fair
Date of Scene: 03 March 2020
Location: Happy Harbor High corridors and classrooms
Synopsis: Morgan runs into Peter (under an alias) scoping out HHHS, and finds him in the science fair entrant list.
Cast of Characters: Peter Parker, Morgan le Fay

Peter Parker has posed:
Happy Harbor.
Peter had heard of it. The rumor mill at Midtown High was alive with speculations, suppositions, and just outright scuttlebutt. They were set up as a government think tank. They were a commune masquerading as a school. They were a secret eugenics project.
Leave it up to teenagers for wild theories.

Peter, on the other hand, was interested in hard facts, and he figured it was a good day to take off from school to check the place out. Tuesday morning, 9 AM, and here he was, making his way into the school.
Security was circumvented by simply webslinging into the campus near the back, the little "white-noise generator" momentarily confounding any CCTV cameras. A few minutes later, Peter Parker stepped out of the men's bathroom, hefted the beat-up, looking backpack, and commenced reconnaissance.

Morgan le Fay has posed:
Morgan, for her part, is hurrying from class. Mostly since, well, she's just got let out and she's....pulling upp to a dead stop, eyes scrutinizing Peter. "Hey" she says. Not in the bratty tone of most her age, 17, but.....curiosity. "You lost or hiding from classs?" she asks. O h her mind's working. Iff she turns him in for skippping class it'll help her out immensely. One less student to keep an eye on. One student out the way of her goals....

Still, she doesn't recall seeing him around the halls. "So" she says, those green eyes sweeping over Peter. It's easy when Morgan is over six feet tall, too.

Peter Parker has posed:
Wow, tall.
Parker, FOCUS, you GOOB!
"Oh! Hi, sorry..." He gives the tall student his hangdog, disarming smile, one that has worked well in the past.
Not much to look at. Short brown hair and eyes, baggy flannel shirt, baggy jeans, tennis shoes, black Jansport ski jacket, green Jansport backpack.
"Sorry. I'm new here. Name's Patrick Porter." He had chosen a name similar to his own, made it easier to react naturally if it was called. "Yeah, I'm kinda new, so I'm using my free period to get my bearings."

Morgan le Fay has posed:
Morgan folds her arms. Somehow. Over her chest. "So. You're new here and you managed to sneak around during free period?" she asks and glances past peter, seeming to listen intently. "Well, know where you need to be, okay?" she says with a nod. "Memorize your timetable. And remember the golden rule. Don't anger the cliques"

Mostly since that's Morg's goal. Anyone else doing it would just be competition. "C'mon. I'll show you around. I'm Morgana" she says with a nod. "Or do you know where you're heading?"

Hopefully. Cold cynical half fae pretending to be nice, do not make for good conversation. Still. Still. she smiles. "I mean, I get it's confusing really. I was lost my first few days too but you'll pick it up soon enough" Morgan offers, hands back byher sides.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter smiles, not betraying that the blueprints for the building had been available at the NYC Hall of Records for some time now. "Science classrooms. Supposed to be in the west wing, I thought, but I got a little turned around." He shrugs helplessly. "AND there was an issue with the school uniform, but I got a pass from the principal for the day while my Mom sorts it out."
He was in high school. He knew about the cliques, book, chapter, and verse. The Gospel of Parker.
"I heard that the science department is pretty well set."

Morgan le Fay has posed:
Morgan watches Peter and there's something flaring in her eyes. "You got....a pass? Look, if my plain green t-shirt isn't uniform code, what's the secret to getting a pass?" she asks. Sure. She /might/ have accidentally tried to fire a bolt at the princiapl, but...but...small details. "You want me to keep a hold of the pass?" she offers. "Science is down the hall, up the stairs, left, down the end, right, and through the double doors" she reels off as pawfalls are heard and Morgan bends down to pick up Merlin, her kitten. Who promptly climbs up onto her shoulder and digs claws in. Owwww!

"So" Morgan says with a sharp intake of breath. "Got all that?" she adds.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter smirks. "Welll...my mom is something of a lawyer. She knows how to argue a point. I'll hang on to the pass, though. if I can't produce it for the hall monitors, they'll boot me out of here. Security is on point here, that's for sure."
He looks around. Easier to do, Morgan is DAMNED distracting.
"Down the hall, up, left, to the end, right, and through the double doors. Gotcha." He grins warmly. "Thanks, that helps a lot..."
He looks to the cat, his smile still warm and relaxed but there is a flicker or amusement. "Gotta be careful of Black Cats, really. I have my own to worry about, and she is trouble with a capital T..." *...and A," he finishes mentally.

Morgan le Fay has posed:
Morgan is indeed just a bit distracting. Shaking her head she looks amused, or planning something. "No, just buy the monitors tribute. Like...I don't know. Cigarettes or alcohol" she offers. "Whatever people here think is important"

Great, corrupting minors...

Again.

Morgan grins a littl. "Trust me. If they are smoking or drinking....they can't monitor the halls too well, can they?" she offers with a wry smile as she offers to walk with Peter to science class. It's not her next period, but sheperding lost students is usually a good thing...right?

"Yeah. That's Merlin, my kitten. I swear he won't stray from me. it's like he's on a bit of string and attacked to my ankles" she says gently, petting the kitten that's up six and two inches feet wise off the floor.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nods as he begins walking. "I have a Black Cat, too. I don't know her secret name yet. Cats are supposed to have secret names. "You've read T.S. Eliot's OLD POSSUMS'S BOOK OF PRACTICAL CATS? Cats have three names, he said - familial, particular, and secret." He chuckles. "Like people, really. Familial is Porter, particular is Patrick."

Morgan le Fay has posed:
Morgan sighs. "Well yes. It's in my book bag. Which isn't here since I'm not bringing it" she says. "Mostly since Merlin here thinks it's a cat bed I carry around. It isn't" she grumbles, walking with....whatever his namewas. Porker or something.

Reaching the first door she mentioned, Morgan peeks inside with a nod. "English class" she adds and resumes walking before, well, she gets yelled at for being late. or, or, something.

Getting to the stairs, she takes them two at a time and bounds up them. There's something graceful about how she bounds up them, really....though she waits at the top of the stairs for Pete.

"So what's your secret name, geek?" she asks with a twinkllin her eye

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter smiles as he trudges up the stairs. "Well, Morgan. I have to ask you a question, first." He pauses at the top of the stairs, then looks around.

"Can you keep a secret?"

Morgan le Fay has posed:
Morgan nods again. "Familial. Lefey, particular? Morgana. Secret? Like I'd tell anyone" she says and waits, leaning on the wall. "I can keep a secret" she says.

Lying through her teeth. Well, no. White lie. She can keep a secret for five seconds after whoever told her is out of earshot. Yay for being a senior!

"So what's the secret?" she asks.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter grins, leaning closer to Morgan's ear (as best he can. "*I*...can keep a secret, too."
And with that, he steps back and strolls through the archway and turns left, whistling "Ode to Love." One of Aunt May's favorites. "Morgana LeFay? Lemme guess. Parents had LA MORTE D'ARTHUR in their bookshelf?"

Morgan le Fay has posed:
Let down.

"Yes. They did. Apparently my parents are big fans of that. I got to see Camelot when I was a little girl. iI feel like Morgana Pendragon's just so wrongly thought of" she says with a hint of a grin. "I wasn't allowed to have a puppy and call him Mordred though. Kind of a shame. But this guy" she says and nods to Merlin, much as she can. "Kind of latched onto me" she offers with a smile. "Best friend, really. Adorable kitten"

Merlin purrs happily from his perch and peers down at Peter, green kitten eyes working out if it's worth playing with the new kid in school. Apparently not, since the kitten stays put, tail dangling down the back of Morgan's shoulder. She looks pleased. "Reading is such an enjoyabl pasttime. There's a running joke. Morgana's in the library. Will she ever leave?" she nods.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nods sagely as he picks up his step. She has a longer stride than he does. "Amen to that. Three places I can be found." He ticks them off with his fingers. "Classroom, Library, or the lab in the...corner room at the house."
Dang. He paused. Hoped she didn't notice. But then again, when did beautiful girls even notice what he said when he wasn't saying 'Yes, I'll loan you my notes?'

*<Hello, Spideypants. I missed you,>* a velvet voice purred in his mind.
Peter gave an involuntary shiver. "Drafty up here," he said quickly. "So, have you chosen a college yet?'

Morgan le Fay has posed:
Morgan does have a longer stride. She turns and watches Peter for a moment or two. "Libraries are oddly relaxing" she admits. Hey. He should see her /castle/ for libraries. yes. Castle.

"It's not that bad. You missed it when it was snowing out" Morgan admits, shaking her head. "I had to bring a thick coat and was still cold" she says. "Merlin hid in the hood of my wintr coat all day. I was glad to go home"

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nods, then looks around. "Mine...well, I can't really call her mine, because who owns a cat?...likes snuggling up, too."
In fact, that's kind of the problem. HIS Cat likes Spider-Man.
"But I hope she'll behave more. She's done a lot of misbehaving in the past, and I'm hoping to be a good influence." He pauses as he looks at the lockers. "The place looks pretty clean. The janitorial stuff must be filled with compulsive polishers."

Morgan le Fay has posed:
"I somehow got attached to by Merlin" she says as Morgan reaches the lockers, and smirks at the janitor comment. "Oh don't you believe it. We keep the school tidy between all of us. Something something life lessons, something something" she says and checks her watch. "Shi....I'm late"" she says. "You a good runner?" she adds and takes off running to science class. Well, less printing, more jogging.

Peter Parker has posed:
Is he a good runner?
Peter takes off jogging as well. There is an impulse to show off, but Peter knew Patrick Porter can't suddenly become memorable. So he settles for catching up to her, albeit a few steps behind.
Because, like in life, if people knew what he could REALLY do, there went the whole ballgame.
He was making pretty good time, wondering how Merlin was taking all of this.

Morgan le Fay has posed:
Morgan gets to class and looks....a little irritated at being called out for being late. "I'm sorry. I was showing a new student around the school. He has a pass from the principal" Morgan says. Sure, rev up that bus Morgan...

She looks to the teacher and folds her arms. "If you're going to send me to the principal's office. Mr Porker is coming with me" she says. yes that's the name she's settled on for him. She knows it's not what she was told. But....but...so begins the long walk to the office. Or it would, if Morgan didn't just have a desire to....go home. Instead she takes her seat in class without protest. Okay, that's not normal. Silent, obedient Morgana? Start running, folks

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter looked at Morgan. Yeeeaahhh, THERE it was. The resulting quiet laughter was the perfect follow-up.
But in a way, that worked for him, too.

The teacher, Mr. McGee, frowned slightly. "Take your seat. Mr...Porker...move along."
Peter nodded. "Yessir." And with that, he was off down the corridor.

As Morgan took her seat, she noticed Janet next to her was grinning as she brought up something on her tablet. She was never a pleasant person at the best of times, but she was smiling like the canary that ate the cat.
Janet covertly turned it so Morgan could see it.

The display was of a list of entrants for the inter-school science fair in April. The face of Patrick Porter/Porker looked back at her.
Except his name was actually Peter Parker. And one of the notes posted by a student said, "The current favorite. IQ of 250!"

"You got PLAAAAYED," Janet, said, smiling evilly.
