Cast of Characters: Tim Drake, Conner Kent

Tim Drake has posed:
It's midafternoon by the time Tim Drake rolls into his home in Chelsea. The previous night had been a big political re-election fundraiser hosted at his adoptive father's home out in Bristol, and, like with those sorts of occasions that go late into the night, Tim had just crashed in his room at the Wayne Manor afterwards. When he gets back to the theater-turned-hideout, however, he pops the keys to his 'normal' car onto the counter on the 'home' side with a clatter, whistling a merry tune to himself. He's in far more casual clothes today than the night previous: jeans, sneakers, and a t-shirt with cartoonish dice all over it.

He isn't really trying to be quiet, but to someone with superhearing, he's pretty impossible to not hear.

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner has (after too many sleepless nights) managed to tune in and out his enhanced senses to some point. It is an uphill battle, as they seem a bit sharper every week. Good thing he doesn't need sleep as much as a regular human.

Also, he spent most of the morning setting up his room. Mostly Ikea, because yeah, cheaper. His old (well, two years old) PC tower, which miraculously survived the destruction of his house in Hawaii. He brought some civvies clothes to hang out with the gang at some of the less depressing places of Gotham. Also, a neat wall-map he found somewhere in the Internets. The usual stuff for a backup hangout.

Time to find some totally unnecessary but totally deserved lunch. He heads out and down, and hears Tim. "Hey man, how goes?" He greets, concentrating a moment to check if someone else is there. Nope. Or they are really quiet.

Tim Drake has posed:
"It goes," Tim says cheerfully. "I'm about to make a couple clubs, want one?" He's already digging in the fridge for sandwich fixings, a loaf of sliced sourdough already on the counter. A pan is on the stove, but not on yet-- ready for making bacon in a few moments. "How's the new room set-up coming?"

Conner Kent has posed:
"It is fixed," replies Conner. "Only the skylight gave me some trouble, the rest was easy," explains Conner. "Not sure if I will use it much, but hey, maybe some weekends here if all the others are here too. Mind you, there are better places for vacations than Gotham."

Sure, he signs up for sandwiches. He had some snacks in mind, too. Nothing very healthy, just delicious.

Tim Drake has posed:
"Well, Bart and Rose have moved in, and Cassie will be choosing a room here soon enough. She was thrilled with the place, but she's still go to split time between her mom's house and here, at least." There's a half-smile that becomes almost permanent on Tim's face at that point. He flips on the stove and tosses some of the bacon on the pan to start sizzling, then puts several slices of bread in the toaster. "Nightwing also came by to check on the place. I suspect I haven't flown under Batman's radar as much as I had hoped, but so be it. At least I haven't been told to shut things down." Tim's pretty careful not to outwardly out his 'dad' and 'brothers' (and sister), even if Conner's mostly figured it out anyway. Cassie hasn't (which was amusingly clear the other night), and Bart... probably hasn't. "I've been thinking of others, but we'll probably have to start masking up more often if we do."

Conner Kent has posed:
Secret identities of heroes and friends are a matter Conner prefers to avoid thinking about. He knows Robin is Tim Drake, but he doesn't know who is Tim Drake. He has not checked the Wikipedia or google. That would be kind of spying on a friend.

Obviously, Tim has loads of money, so Conner is pretty sure he must be well-known in some circles. Still not looking. Family is a complicated and mysterious thing for Conner.

"I like Nightwing. No offense, but most of Gotham heroes are kind of off-putting, and he isn't." He reconsiders, "although if you could introduce me to Batgirl, I wouldn't complain. In fact, I would owe you one."

Tim Drake has posed:
At that, Tim lifts an eyebrow. "Are you sure about that?" he jokes. "But I might be able to arrange that." He flips the bacon, then sets up a plate to drain them on. Then he starts cutting lettuce and tomato while the bread finishes toasting. "Though don't be surprised if you're not her type." He tilts his head. "You're Cassie's type, though. Not that I'm saying anything about that, because I'm totally just thinking out loud. Ignore me."

Conner Kent has posed:
"I am quite sure she is a hot redhead," notes Conner with a smile. "And smart. I like older, smart women. And redheads." He is probably not her type, at all. But a boy can dream, right?

He hmms about Cassie. Cassie came back and sure she grew up in all the right places. But she is an Amazon doing magical Amazon things, a world Conner can't belong. Also, she is pretty much his third best friends and has been for years. Awkward? "Yeah, don't think about other girls right now. You have your hands full."

Tim Drake has posed:
"Oh, I'm not thinking about anyone else," Tim smirks slightly. "I have no desire or reason to even consider that sort of thing. I'm just... saying." Toast pops up and Tim starts putting together the sandwiches while the bacon cools a little and drains. "Not all of us have wandering eyes, you know." He shrugs. Bacon added, sandwiches topped off with the last piece of bread. He slides Conner one of the plates.

Conner Kent has posed:
"Dude, if I could get Rose to... never mind," Conner shakes his head. Tim managed to convince Rose to move here. That alone seems huge. He is hoping it works for them.

"So yeah, and I am young. I figure I can have a wandering eye until the right girl appears, you know?" Maybe not. Given his behavior maybe Tim had no time for dating before. "Although I think for serious dates I think better find someone in our line of work."

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim misinterprets what Conner was meaning... not to get her to move in, but rather... and Tim's face turns a bright red. "Oh. Um. Well, I mean." His embarrassment is obvious, even without super-senses.

"You're probably right though. Being with someone normal might be dangerous for them." Tim's response comes in a rush, trying to slip past to the rest of the conversation.

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner blink at Tim embarrassment. What did he say? "I meant you got here to move in here," he says hesitantly, before taking a bite from his sandwich. Now it is his turn to shut up. Not embarrassed, just thinking about Tana Moon again. Dead because they got too close.

Change of subject, quickly! "So, how likely is Batman crashing in and telling us to get lost?"

Tim Drake has posed:
"Oh! Yes. Uh, she... did. I was actually as surprised as you are," Tim nods, then takes a bite of his own sandwich. "Uh, as for Batman... I don't know. I think that's what Nightwing was sent here for, to check things out. So if it's happening, it'll be soon, but..." he shrugs. "I think he would have said something by now." He grimaces. "Though I haven't been to his HQ for a little bit, so he may be waiting for me to return to base before giving me his discontent. But we'll see." Tim glances to Conner. "You okay?"

Conner Kent has posed:
"Yeah, I guess it is a good signal he sent the nicer guy," offers Conner. Yes, Nightwing is probably a good sign. Then nods, "I am okay, no worries. I couldn't get Rose to return, y'know. I did try. And she kept showing up and then leaving the next day. Then you had a single date with her and bam, she is here. I think she really likes you," he grins.

Tim Drake has posed:
Rubbing the back of his neck, Tim grins a little and shrugs. "I... hope so." He frowns as his phone buzzes, and he pulls it from his pocket and checks. He groans. "Page Six. Ugh." He shuts the screen off and puts the phone on the counter, sighing. "Whatever. But yeah. I hope she does. I really like her, and..." he trails off.

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner arches an eyebrow, "page six?" No comments about the 'and' because he can imagine what follows. "Moving on. Now you have us all in one place, do we go find adventure or trouble? And I have some free days coming in after summer classes are over. Do we have a bad guy to beat up? Or maybe we can go vacationing somewhere."

Tim Drake has posed:
"Trouble usually finds us," Tim points out. "So I don't see much of a point in looking. It will pop up when we least want or expect it." He muses. "...what sort of vacation were you thinking?"

Conner Kent has posed:
"Hawaii," of course. It is not as if Conner knows a lot of vacation places. But he was happy in Hawaii for a time, and it is a very nice (and sunny) place. He never took his friends there, when he had a house large enough!

"But really, I think we should find a way to... do some good together again," although it is true three years ago trouble found them ALL the time. It is a miracle none of them got seriously hurt.

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim considers. "Well, doing good together is what this is for." He gestures around. "So... why not both? Let's plan something fun and when we get back we can start causing trouble for the bad guys, instead of waiting for them to cause trouble for us."

Conner Kent has posed:
"Yeah? Well, as long as the others have a few days off," Conner no longer has any properties in Hawaii, but he knows people, and the best beaches. He can find a good place and cash in some favors. What could possibly go wrong in Hawaii? "Let me make some calls," he decides, drawing out his cellphone.

Tim Drake has posed:
"Let me know," Tim replies with a grin. "I can help set whatever up and convince folks we need a break." He finishes his sandwich. "But I really should probably get a few things done. Slept in too much this morning."
