Date of Scene: 23 July 2020
Location: SoHo
Synopsis: Spider-Man recruits a Thief for a Suicide Mission (Or just for Crime Fighting)
Cast of Characters: Peter Parker, Felicia Hardy

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man was a little nervous as he webslinged (webslung?) his way through the city.
It was the Black Cat, of course. She always made him a little bit nervous. He never exactly knew what her game was. And he was smart enough to know she was a planner, a plotter, and smarter than him in different ways.

He landed on the roof of the parking garage, looking around curiously. He figured he should try to be a little early...a nice change from his usual tardiness. But that actually meant he was delayed enough to be on time instead of early.

Felicia Hardy has posed:
Landing nearby at nearly the same moment, Black Cat narrows her eyes with a smug smile, as if she had something planned. But when she spots him across the way, she blinks and straightens up. "Oh, wow, you're actually here." Taking a good look at him, she very cautiously takes a few sinuous steps forward, hips rocking to and fro with the slowness. "If it's really you. Mask off, Spider!"

Felicia frowns, hips aside. "Can't be too careful, considering you insisted on costumes." Her hands go to her waist, and she watches him with less of a suspicious frown and more of a let-down one. "And for that matter, why didn't you want to meet...you know..." She nods over her shoulder, "...Normally? We could have ordered pizza or something. Watched a movie."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man eyed the Cat speculatively. Her suspicion is unusual, and ht looks around before webbing up one of the overhead lights to make it more difficult for anyone around to see his face.
Then he takes a long, slow breath, then removes it, letting the Cat see the same brown hair, the same brown eyes, the same average face under the mask.

"I was a little surprised, and I feel comfortable with...neutral ground. Plus, it was near the end of my patrol, so it was convenient."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
It may not have been obvious until she lets go, but Black Cat visibly relaxes out of a resting martial arts stance. Her expression also loses a lot of its tense-ness. "Good. Great." She sighs and lets her eyes close briefly, tension melting away before she opens her eyes, smiles brightly, and bounces over a few steps with cheerful abandon.

"It's really good to see you again," she says as she gets close, her eyes on his and her expression warm and affectionate. "I figured you were okay, since your double doesn't seem very bright, but there was always that lingering worry that he'd off'd you and stole your web-slingers."

Very close now, her guard is nearly completely down, watching him with her full attention. "...It didn't help that you haven't texted me in a while. But luckily, that's what tripped your double up."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man nods. "Sorry...I was away for awhile. Got caught up in a project and...well, had a rough time." He smiled apologetically to Felicia. "You're not the only one I went silent on. I have quite a few to apologize to..."

His voice trailed off. "...Hold up. Double?"

Felicia Hardy has posed:
Felicia Hardy blinks, "Yeah, you've got an imposter. He probably would have nabbed me if he hadn't been a klutz with his cheap cellphone." The Cat folds her arms under her chest, causing her lowered silver zipper to strain a little and dig its claws in, trying its best to contain Felicia's secret identity. "He was wearing a leather jacket and has hair pretty similar to yours, it's just silver-white like mine."

She flashes him a little wink, momentarily cheeky as she shifts her hips the other way, "Almost like someone mashed us together and made a Spider-Cat."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spidey is momentarily distracted, but he recovers quickly. "Did he have web-shooters, or did he get around in some other way? Was the costume a replica, or were there differences?"

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"Web-shooters," she confirms, "Close enough that I was worried they were genuine in hind-sight. He also seemed to anticipate my attack, just like you do." She frowns as she describes it, as if she's putting a few dots together in her head. "...And he got my sandwich, intact, during an aerial pursuit, even if he wasn't able to nab anything else. That *could* be a hint of the Bad Luck."

Her lips twist in a concerned look as she looks to him, "Um, I was just kidding about the Spider-Cat, thing, but you don't think...?"

Felicia shakes her head sharply, sending her suit bouncing a little, "Anyway, the suit was pretty darn similar. Probably the same material, same design. Weird jacket, though, that I feel like I've seen somewhere else. And he was showing off his Raiden hair. Knew the lyrics, too!"

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man/Peter frowned. "I suppose it wouldn't be TOO difficult to reverse-engineer the webshooters, and the webfluid. And the clothing...well, there are videos of me and a few of the other Spiders, so that's not too far out there to replicate. But that is a lot of science knowhow for the 'shooters and webbing. But the guy was just...swinging around, doing the crimefighting thing, or just swinging around, showing-off kind of thing?"

He seems to have forgotten the Spider-Cat thing for the time being.Probably because he is distracted by something else. "...Lyrics?"

Felicia Hardy has posed:
Black Cat gawks with mock surprise, smiling all the while. "Oh come on, Metal Gear Rising? Raiden? It Has To Be This Way?" She looks amused and disappointed as her hands go to her hips. "And yeah, he was doing the 'Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man' thing, even imitated your voice well enough to fool me."

She purrs a bit as she adds, "I think he was going to arrest me until I seemed to recognize you. Then he tried the 'working on a project' line, just like you did, just now. It was when he produced a new phone and asked for my number again that I knew he was a fake. You'd have it backed up."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nodded. "Yeah, I have you wired into the Spider-Comm network. You even have your own avatar icon now." He paused for a moment, then asked, "I was wondering if you were really serious with helping out with some of the stuff we're dealing with. How do you feel about an augmented reality interface?"

Felicia Hardy has posed:
Black Cat doesn't answer immediately. Instead, she moves her hands into a more neutral and uncertain set, one closing near her midriff, the other near her hip and side. "Ah..." Her eyes turn away from him, guiltily. She looks like she might say more, but instead, she's silent a while longer.

Finally, she says, with her eyes down at the rooftop still, "You know, it's usually a lot easier to lie to someone." Her cerulean blue eyes flick up to him, her head still ducked a bit and her hair framing the sides of her face, "I must really like you after all."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter returned the gaze for a few moments. "You are definitely one of the most sophisticated and prolific burglars I've ever met in my admittedly-short experience. I have no interest in 'taming' you. I doubt such a thing is possible. But I think that you'll find helping more personally-enriching."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
Felicia Hardy blinks, looking genuinely shocked. "You're not...?" Her lips are parted in wonder as she stares at him. Then, she smiles. A warm, loving, *affectionate* smile. She steps up close, very close. "Well, in that case..." She flashes him a wink, "If you don't mind having a certified thief on the team, suit me up."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter quickly puts the mask on, but not before there is a telltale flush of the skin. Bashful, definitely.

"Uhm...give me a few days. I need to put the stuff together. Sub-vocal throat microphone, A/R contact lenses...unless you want to go lens inserts for the mask...and something to put in your gloves..."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
Felicia Hardy lifts a finger, adding with a saucy, teasing smile, "Just remember, if you add cuffs, make sure they are fuzzy." She winks again, resumes smiling, and nods along with the rest of the list. "I'm actually working on my own glove-upgrades. If you invite me over to the lab, I can bring some stuff from my back-up suits, though."

Black Cat wobbles her hand, "Still waffling on adamantium, vibranium, or something magical, though. Taskmaster offered to teach me Black Panther style." She nods a couple times quickly, "He's actually a great instructor off the clock, you might want to train with him sometime. He's not that bad of a guy when you aren't fighting him."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spidey pauses, then says, "IIIIII've actually got a teacher. it's a bit of a weird situation. Ninjas are involved. Maybe I can set up a lab visit, but...well, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I think my Aunt might wonder why I'm bringing so meny young women to my basement lab."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
The Cat smirks, "Really? Your aunt's basement?" She folds her arms, putting pressure on that zipper again. "Maybe I should stop by and ask if Pete can come out to play." She looks really amused, but she nods, "I can just mail the legal parts, and if you ever find yourself debating cost-to-practicality..."

She gives him a *look*, "I'll cover the additional cost."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spidey smiles reassuringly. "I have the materials, it's just a matter of fabrication. But do you want contact lenses, or eye coverings to fit your mask?"

Felicia Hardy has posed:
Black Cat has been avoiding this question and she looks a little pensive. "...I really want to say contacts. I've tried coverings, and it's weird, but..." She sighs, looking at the sky, "...Eye-covers are probably a smarter idea. The Magic Mask works for separating Felicia and Black Cat, but maybe not Black Cat and Spider-Cat."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man looks thoughtful. "Well, we could try both. I'd have to have you configure them both, but whichever one you don't like, I can re-purpose for someone else. After all...it's nice to have a choice, right?"

Felicia Hardy has posed:
Felicia is still very, very close, and she suddenly gets an interesting look on her face, as if she just realized that he's here and she's got an idea. Her head tilts a bit and she takes that last step forward, her black glove resting very lightly on his chest. "So...when were you planning on taking my measurements?"

She purrs. "I'm free right now, if you like."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spidey takes a step back. "Uhm...Well, I could just...take a picture of your face. With the mask on. The rest of it would be adjustable by now, and...it might be best to just do it this way."

Jeez, is he ALWAYS like this around every woman he meets? It's him, right? it CAN'T be all of them...?

Felicia Hardy has posed:
Felicia just gives him an exasperated *look*, "Pete." But she sighs, and smiles. "Sorry, but if you want to make a suit for me, you're going to do it right. 'Stretchy' is for people who don't bounce when they jump." She takes a step back as well and lifts her eyebrows, making her mask shift upward. "Send me a text when you're ready? Pseudo-Spider already ruined my Grail-run by catching me scoping out the Met, so my weekend just opened up."

She blinks, and her tone gets more serious, "And hey...take him seriously. I swear he knew my moves before I did. Just like you."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spidey resolves to go into greater detail with the Black Cat about the "Grail-run" but opts not to. Instead, he does a quick scan, then takes two pictures. She has a good face for modeling. Well, modeling ANYTHING.

So why is she stealing? A topic for another night.

"I'll keep you posted when the rig's ready. Through the NORMAL channels. You get anything in any different method, let me know. Okay, I got it all." He smiles crookedly. "I will be in touch. Stay safe...and stay out of trouble?"

Felicia Hardy has posed:
Cat scowls, "Hey did you just scan me?" Her hands go to her hips. "I just told you that's not going to--" But she sighs and her hands drop to her sides. "You're super adorable, but there *is* such a thing as being someone's density, you know?"

She gives him another look, and then turns to wander at a lazy saunter back across the parking lot toward where she appeared. "And no promises!" She pauses, glances back over her shoulder with a toss of her rich mane of hair, and winks, "But I'll try."

Then a grapple-line fires, and she's yanked away into the night.
