Two Queens are better than one.
Date of Scene: 03 March 2020
Location: Queen Mansion
Synopsis: Thea and Vanessa meet while Oliver was 'busy'!
Cast of Characters: Vanessa Carlysle, Oliver Queen

Vanessa Carlysle has posed:
Vanessa finishes getting dressed. The rest of the household having been gone for her first few days there had definitely made it lower stress for the young woman to get used to Oliver's home. The few clothes she'd brought with her were hung up, allowing her to pick a warm sweatshirt and a pair of jeans.

A glance out the window shows a car pulling up the drive. Vanessa moves over to the window, seeing a woman climb out of the car and being greeted by the security with a smile. Vanessa unlocks the window and opens it just enough to hear the man talking with her, addressing her as Miss Queen. Definitely not old enough to be Oliver's mother.

Vanessa closes the window and steps back a little bit, her hands moving to her chest. "Ok Vanessa, you got this," she says to herself quietly. Then a little bit louder, "Oliver? I think maybe your sister is home."

Oliver Queen has posed:
Definitely not old enough! Unless she had found the best plastic surgeon around. Yet we are also talking of a world with superheroes so .... But no, it's indeed Thea Queen, appearing perhaps a touch younger than Vanessa, with that spunky look of a confident young woman, easy smile to her lips.

Oliver is still in the shower, the water heard running but he appears to have heard Vanessa. His voice is heard from inside. "I am almost done here. Go ahead and talk with her if you want." he offers, because of course, letting them be alone before he arrives. Such timing!

Meanwhile Thea's voice is heard from downstairs. "Hello? Ollie? Are you home?" high heels heard prowling about the first floor.

Vanessa Carlysle has posed:
Vanessa looks towards the bathroom, eyes widening in a silent expression that asks if he's crazy, sending her out there to meet his sister without him there! But she does so, slipping on shoes and checking hair. Still a little damp, obvious that she's fresh out of a shower. Nothing to be done though.

Vanessa heads out into the hall and then over to the large staircase that leads down to the foyer. "Oliver's getting cleaned up," she says as she sees Thea down near the base of the stairs. "He suggested I come and introduce myself. I'm Vanessa. Vanessa Carlysle," she says, walking down the stairs. Despite Vanessa's butterflies, she manages that elegant poise and walk of hers, and shines a warm smile towards Thea. "I'd kind of hoped he'd be here to introduce me," she says with a soft laugh and a little roll of her eyes, but not so exaggerated as to make it seem negative about Oliver.

Oliver Queen has posed:
Perhaps it's all part of Ollie's plan. Such cunning! But in a way he also knows that it is perhaps for the best, letting them meet each other without a filter, without his presence. But he is relaxed, taking his time to finish his shower. He is sure it will all be fine. Well, almost sure. What could go wrong? Maybe he should get this shower finished more quickly.

Thea pivots on one of her heels when she hears Vanessa, her head slightly canting to one side and she letting her eyes trail over Vanessa's figure, the elegant motions. So similar to Vera in some ways, but also appearing more genuine. Damn, how she hated that Vera.

"I am Thea, Thea Queen." she waits downstairs and when Vanessa arrives she extends one hand, unable to stifle a soft laughter at that roll of the eyes. "That's my brother. I am not surprised at all. And he has told me a lot about you." then she mirrors Vanessa's small eye roll, amused. Emphasis on the -a lot-.

Vanessa Carlysle has posed:
That part catches Vanessa by surprise. "Oh he has?" she asks, making sure her reaction is a smile rather than a worried look. "I hadn't even realized he'd been in touch with you, let alone..." Vanessa says. Though that moment of fear passes as Vanessa realizes Thea's reaction seems a positive one.

"He's... a pretty amazing person," Vanessa says, gaze dropping for a moment, and another woman will be able to read some of her feelings for Oliver easy enough in her expression. Vanessa has a hard time restraining those revealing expressions actually, never having really felt this way about someone before.

Vanessa glances back up the stairs quickly and then back down, her smile for Oliver is a soft one as she looks back to Thea. "You two are pretty close then?" she asks.

Oliver Queen has posed:
"Trust me, where it comes to my brother and his secrets there is nothing we don't share." Thea gives Vanessa a thoughtful, studying look. Perhaps checking if Vanessa knows more about Oliver or not. In truth they hadn't spoken on whether Vanessa knew about his alter ego. "Or well, in this case not exactly a secret but you know what I mean." she letting out one of those soft smiles of hers.

And she indeed seems to read those, in fact it's a look she has had a few times in the past. "It had been a long time since I had noticed a smile in his voice when he spoke." as if to reassure Vanessa that those feelings most likely aren't just one-sided. "And we are, closer after he returned a few years back. Tragedy does bring family closer like nothing else, right?" It's clear she's assuming Vanessa knows about the plane accident, and Oliver's years away.

But then Oliver's steps are heard and he appears near the stairs. "Hello Thea, welcome back. This is Vanessa, as I am sure you are aware by now." casual tone, as if he hadn't made it on purpose.

Vanessa Carlysle has posed:
Vanessa looks a little reassured as Thea's reactions seem to be positive. It shows in the friendly smile that Vanessa gives the younger Queen sibling. "He has a smile in his voice?" she asks, smiling at Thea and looking as if this pleases Vanessa greatly to hear.

"I'd heard a little, but it wasn't something we'd gotten into very deeply," Vanessa explains after the comments about the family tragedy, her tone suitably sympathetic for how much she does know. "I didn't want to press him on it, figured we'd talk about it more when he's ready," she says.

And then Oliver is there, coming down the stairs. Vanessa looks up, her face lighting up a bit brighter. "There you are," she says to Oliver smiling as he reaches the bottom of the stairs. Her attention hangs on him for a moment but then she turns back to Thea before too much time has elapsed. "Is it ok with you if I'm around here for awhile?" Vanessa asks Thea.

Oliver Queen has posed:
"But don't tell him I said it. He likes to be all broody sometimes..." Another roll of Thea's eyes, as if she greatly disapproved of it. In fact she appears a lot more easy-going than her brother. Perhaps people cope in different manners. But then again it's been a few years now.

"What are you two conspiring about down there..?" Ollie asks, but he seems pleased, at least they appear to be smiling and in a way they aren't that different, ages similar. He reaches the landing, moving to wrap one arm about Vanessa for an affectionate side-hug "Hey.." he tells her, a gentleness to his voice, then walking towards his sister, reaching up to take her in a hug. "How are you doing, Speedy? Staying long this time around?" to which she answers. "Don't know yet, we will see!"

But then Thea is answering Vanessa. "Sure, my room is off-limits though." she grinning. "And I want to see mother having an aneurysm." uh oh.

Vanessa Carlysle has posed:
Vanessa Carlysle moves to take the side-hug readily, her smile blossoming ever brighter during that gentle embrace. She smiles and brushes a tiny kiss to his cheek before letting him go so Oliver can go and see his sister.

Vanessa's arms cross loosely once she doesn't have an Oliver to put them around, slightly covering up the "Faber College" sweatshirt that is more likely an Animal House reference than somewhere she attended.

Vanessa gives a quick nod of reply about Thea's room being off-limits. "Of course," she says with a smile, glancing at Oliver briefly as she wonders whether their rooming situation while the house was empty will continue or whether she'll move into another room than him. A detail to ask later.

Especially as Thea brings up the prospect of her mother. "Is that... likely?" Vanessa asks with a worried grimace that is probably made a little more dramatic intentionally to keep it light hearted.

Oliver Queen has posed:
"Definitely. Well, not literally but.., you know what I mean ..." Speedy says. But then Oliver ruffles her hair with a tsk, shaking his head, "Don't mind her. She likes doing this all the time." but in reality, he is perhaps a tad worried. One thing at a time though. When that time comes though he -definitely- will try not to be caught showering.

Thea just smirks and steps away, shaking her head. "You'd better be ready, that's all I will say. I am going to get out of these clothes. I will look forward to talk more with you, Vanessa." and then she is skipping up the stairs with quite the agility displayed. Speedy indeed.

Oliver lets out a sigh, approaching Vanessa again. "Mother isn't an easy person to deal with." he says, lifting his shoulders up in a shrug. "But no need to worry about it. What did you think of Thea?" he instead asks.

Vanessa Carlysle has posed:
Vanessa gives a small nod as if she thinks she can guess what Thea means. "Nice to meet you, Thea. I'll look forward to talking more too," she says. Vanessa watches Oliver's sister head up the stairs, and then turns back towards him.

"That, at least, seemed to go ok," she says, moving over to slip her arms about Oliver's waist. "She seems nice. I think you're right, she's someone I'd probably enjoy being around, at least first impression makes me think so."

She leans in closer to Oliver, resting her chin on his shoulder. "I want your mother to like me though. I guess you're telling them that we're... you know, together? Do they know about the.. the drug dealer's men?" she asks. She knows his name but still doesn't like to say it. "I wasn't quite sure what all you told her."

Oliver Queen has posed:
"She's a good sister. We have had our ups and downs but ..., we are still hanging there. Blood runs thick between us." Oliver says with a sigh. But it does get him thinking about other parts of his family. Namely a certain young man called Roy Harper. He lets out a low exhale. And it's getting close for them to meet up again. But all in due time..

His smile returns after a brief break, resting one hand up on Vanessa's shoulder then over her cheek when they get so close. It seems to soothe his breathing, relaxing him. "Thea knows about the drug dealers. But I haven't told my mother." hard enough to explain. She'd most likely berate them to find a safe house. But for Oliver this is the safest place she can be at.

"We will get there when we get there." he places a kiss down on Vanessa's forehead.

Vanessa Carlysle has posed:
Vanessa leans her head in, resting it against Oliver's. "Whatever you think is best there. I just didn't want to say something at the wrong moment," she confirms. She gently rubs her hand over Oliver's back as she soaks in his presence. "I'll try to be on my best with your mother. Any suggestions or... landmines to avoid there?" she asks quietly.

Vanessa brushes a soft kiss to Oliver's cheek. "April seemed rather impressed by you," she says of her friend who came to visit. "She's been a good friends to me. I was pretty worried to hear about that Harley Quinn coming and finding where she lives. I don't even know what I'd do. I'd want to move, but would be afraid she'd find me if I did and it would set her off," Vanessa says with a shake of her head.
