So you want to join the Hellfire Club
Date of Scene: 26 July 2020
Location: Conference Rooms - Hellfire Club
Synopsis: Kaminari joins the Hellfire Club
Cast of Characters: Sebastian Shaw, Tessa, Kaminari

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
In the conference rooms, one has been set aside for receiving a new applicant, today. It has a desk and a few chairs. In one of these is seated the Black King of the Hellfire Club. Sebastian Shaw had been assigned the duty of handling Kaminari's application and had scheduled the appointment to discuss the forms, today. He had informed Tessa as well, though she likely informed him in all actuality. He sits behind the desk, not far from a table with water and a drink cabinet not far from it. In front of him is a small glass of water, the ice cubes still mostly intact. Shaw is not in his full finery, sticking to a business suit and tie, going over the application itself, a copy of which he passes over to Tessa for her perusal, if she even needs it.

Tessa has posed:
Tessa, in all honesty, probably doesn't need the application; but she's made a habit of downplaying her peculiar nature for reasons both practical and... courteous. She accepts the application with a soft "Thank you, Sir." She stands, as always, a short ways behind and to the side of Shaw - his shadow, some like to call her - wearing a fetching skirtsuit in the same color scheme as Shaw's outfit; her long black hair clipped behind her head for a professional look.
She inclines her head very slightly as she's spoken to through her earpiece, and relays: "She's here, Sir." as she moves to the door. She holds one hand on the handle for a moment, waiting until enough time passes to line up with her calculations, and idly adjusting her tie with her free hand, before opening the door roughly a second before the moment Kaminari might have knocked on it. "Welcome." She says politely. "Mr. Shaw has been expecting you."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari is many things to many people. To some, she is the Goddess of Thunder and Noise. To others, she is the Goddess of Rock. A moniker she earned through her music career and not only making no secret of her divinity but actively using it to enhance her performances. She is also fantastically rich not just in the way that rockstars become, but also in the way that immortals become without the confines of a human lifespan. In short she is just the sort of individual who might walk through the doors of the vaunted Hellfire Club.

Stepping into the chamber, Kaminari stands near the doorway looking from Shaw to Tessa and back again, "Am I in the right place? I am Kaminari." She doesn't give a family name because there isn't one, gods rarely go in for that sort of thing.

She is dressed in her most typical attire, what she wears when she wants people to recognize her as the Goddess of Rock but it is formal enough in its own way. A black velvet and lace corset dress accented by an assortment of silver jewelry and black leather boots with three inch heels that stop just below her knees.

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
Shaw looks up to Tessa and rises as he is informed, "Thank you, Tessa." His tone is polite, and carries the genuine sincerity that he seldom uses for others, with even a hint of a smile. "Seems straight forward." Shaw refills his glass and

He looks to the new arrival and says, "Ms. Kaminari, you are in the right place, please take a seat." The Black King gestures to the chair in front of the desk, "I am Sebastian Shaw and this is," he gestures to Tessa, "Tessa Fox. I will be conducting your interview today as your application has cleared our initial review and we had a few questions and wished to go over a few things before we can proceed to the next steps." Shaw takes a seat and then a sip.

"My first question is do you have any questions at this point in time?"

Tessa has posed:
"A pleasure to meet you, Ms. Kaminari." Is Tessa's measured response after Shaw introduces her; given with a short bow of her shoulders. She moves swiftly past Kaminari to pull out the offered seat for their guest.

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari crosses the intervening space to seat herself in the chair that is pulled out for her, crossing her legs gracefully beneath the skirts of her corset dress, and folding her hands in her lap. "A pleasure to meet you Mr. Shaw, Ms. Fox." she says as she makes herself comfortable. "Of course. No, I do not believe I have any questions at this time. Your club's reputation speaks for itself."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
Shaw listens and nods, "Very well, then." He opens the folder again and reviews the form, "The ground rules then. First and foremost, I remind you that membership is at the pleasure of the board and can be revoked at any time." Shaw takes a drink, "The rules are relatively simple, and yet ironclad. Firstly, this is neutral ground for everybody. If you have a grudge or sour taste from a business deal or personal slight, this is not the place to deal with it. We are a social club that expects civilized behavior at all times."

"Secondly, each area has its own dress code, though they are well posted and usually self-explanatory. Thirdly, for civilized behavior, we expect it in all parts of the club, especially those open to the public." He finishes his drink, and looks to Tessa, "I do not believe I forgot anything?" If he did not he looks back to Kaminari, "Do you have any questions, now?"

Tessa has posed:
Tessa gives another short bow of her head after Kaminari sits down, and quietly pours their visitor a glass of water before drifting back to Shaw's side, keeping her hands folded in front of her.
She inclines her head to Shaw when she's spoken to, and says "No, Sir, you were very thorough." She looks to Kaminari, then, awaiting her response.

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari accepts the glass of water, studying it for a moment before taking a drink. Perhaps she is wishing it were alcohol, perhaps she is contemplating making it alcohol, you never know with deities.

"Yes, yes, no smiting individuals for slights within the club, dress appropriately, and play nice with others. You know it is /fascinating/ how human thinking on these topics has evolved over the centuries." she shrugs lightly, "It is fine, I will follow your rules when I am in your club."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
Centuries? Possibly just a note on the advancement, or lack thereof, of human ethics. Shaw ponders and then says, "Good, now that things are clear and your application was approved pending the delivery of the fee and this entrance interview, I believe Tessa can provide you with your membership packet and related items. Welcome to the Hellfire Club." His tone is still polite, and all business.

Tessa has posed:
Tessa feels a measure of apprehension as Kaminari speaks. Members who feel above rules and obligations - who commit to them with the attitude of simply moving things along - are not rare given the status of their clientele; but most of those guests can be... educated. Members whose compliance are truly a matter of whim are rarer. Sadly not unheard of. If Tessa knew this was possibly one of the latter cases, she'd probably be considerably more tense.
But the Hellfire Club has never been simple.
"Of course, Sir." Tessa replies, and dutifully produces the packet in question - containing everything she'll need to indentify herself as a member and, ideally, not get thrown out; as well as a comprehensive list of the rules relevant to any given section of the club. She steps closer to Kaminari, and holds the packet out to her with both hands, echoing "Welcome, Ms. Kaminari. We're happy to accept you." Her voice all business and measured politeness; tightly controlled rather than simply absent of emotion.

Kaminari has posed:
"Thank you. I look forward to many enjoyable encounters in the future." she flashes Shaw a smile and then one to Tessa when she presents her with the membership paraphenalia, "Thank you, Ms. Fox. I will be sure to read these thoroughly and commit them to memory." Will she really?

She withdraws a cellphone from her purse and clicks 'send' on a message that was apparently already written. "The fees should be transferred within the hour, if they haven't already arrived by the time I am done speaking."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Outstanding," Shaw says dryly, though not insincerely, "Once they clear, your keyless fob will be activated and your full membership will be in effect." He finishes his drink, "Is there anything else I can do for you, today, Ms. Kaminari?" Shaw rises and extends a hand in courtesy to the newest member of the Hellfire Club.

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari rises as well when Shaw does. She looks at the outstretched hand for a moment before seeming to recall handshakes are a thing in this country. Taking his hand firmly in kind, perhaps surprisingly so for a young lady of her appearance, she shakes it sealing this new membership. "Excellent, thank you again." She shakes her head in response to his question, "No, I think this is everything for the moment. It has been a pleasure meeting you Mr. Shaw. Perhaps we can share a drink again sometime soon, something a bit more potent perhaps." Water is apparently not her drink of choice.

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Shaw is surprised by the grip, but he nods again, "Very well, then. You will receive a text message once the money has gone through and your membership fully activated. And perhaps at a later date, a drink can be shared, you will find our bars stocked with only the finest, as befitting the club." He smiles, "But until we meet again, have a good time and enjoy what VIP membership offers you." He looks to Tessa, "Is the three o'clock meeting still on?"

Tessa has posed:
Tessa answers Shaw: "Yes, Sir. Barring misfortune." as she moves to the door and holds it open for Kaminari

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari's smile widens at Shaw's description of the club's alcohol stocks, "I will look forward to it." she replies with a twinkle of mischief in her eyes.

"Until then." she adds just before stepping out through the door held for her by Tessa and into the hall making her exit.

Strangely the scent of the air after a thunderstorm has passed through an area is left in her wake.
