Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara lets herself into the house after standing out front admiring its plain white painted brick exterior. One of the older houses, well, carriage houses in Brooklyn, its exterior hides a lovely renovation. These little secret places and surprising houses are one of the attractive things about Brooklyn and the City for her.

She called earlier but didn't get an answer, she expects that Angelo is still away on business. Exhausted by a day of such strangeness that it has felt like weeks, she blinks and sighs on the threshold at how peaceful the house feels. Crouching to untie her shoes, she leaves them by the door then carries her overnight bag over to the base of the stairs. With a beer from the fridge, she plops down on the couch, head reclined against the back, too preoccupied to even open the can.

Achilles has posed:
Not answering the phone is unusual. But Angelo literally left his phone on the end table beside the sofa. But he went out for some last minute thing and totally forgot the damned phone.
When Sara sits down, she can see the little flashing LED on the phone to indicate that there is some sort of notification.
But it's only a few minutes that she is lying there... well relaxed there. It might feel like she has fallen asleep. But headlights flashing through the front windows might trigger that instant-wakeup effect that is likely ingrained in the blood and tissue of a New York cop. It is Angelo's car pulling into the driveway... but there -could- be so much more.... or less.
A few moments later, the door opens and he steps in... pausing to gaze upon his beautiful lover as she sits on the sofa... a goofy smile spreading over his face.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
The headlights did rouse Sara enough to open her eyes which had shut of their own accord. She recognizes the lights, or tells herself that she does, the cop in her wants to get up and investigate. The very tired woman who has seen enough things in the last twelve hours to populate a Stephen King novel wants nothing more than to take root on the couch.

But it's Angelo and his smile, she decides, would rejuvenate the dead. Sitting up straighter, "Hey, I just noticed why you didn't answer my call." She nods to the culprit.

"Want a beer?" She holds up the unopened can that sat on the coffee table, dripping condensation into a cozy. "How are you?"

Achilles has posed:
"Not that it is ever a good idea to tell a pretty woman anything negative about her appearance..." begins Angelo as he shuts the door and approaches the sofa. But he looks down at the phone and nods, "Ah yes. I plugged it in to charge, and then forgot it when I went out to help a... well a distant relative. To make a long story short, something in town was rousing old powers and a cousin of mine.. maybe second or third cousin... was in a panic. So I went to try to find out why...." But then he goes back in his mind, "What I was going to say is that you look exhausted."
He reaches for the beer and sits down next to Sara, reaching one arm over her shoulders to pull her into his own side. "So how was -your- day?" he asks.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
"Do you know the so-called Chinese curse: May you live in interesting times?" She lets Angelo pull her under his arm then angles her head to watch his reaction before adding, "It was that kind of day. Open that beer, please, and tell me what old powers. Your day and my day might intersect." The last said in the resigned voice of someone still trying to understand what just ran over them.

Achilles has posed:
Nodding, Angelo lifts a thumb from the neck of the beer bottle. One benefit of a super durable hide, and strong muscles is that he doesn't cut his thumb to ribbons as he twists the cap off of the bottle, "I love doing that." he says as the cap flips off and lands on the coffee table.
Then he takes a gulp of the beer and begins to explain, "Okay. So, my second... maybe third cousin.. it's so weird when it comes to Olympians... he's a descendant of Zeus, so..." Another swig of beer is taken, "He said that it felt like one of the gods was being chosen as the patron deity for a City State. But... that hasn't happened in centuries."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
"Uh oh. This is...no coincidence." Sara closes her eyes, head rocking on his arm as she shakes it in disbelief. "Why do I even bother being incredulous? Don't bogart that beer, my friend, pass it over to me." After a long reflective breath, "City State? How about New York City?"

Achilles has posed:
"Well... that is quite a city for it." remarks Angelo as he holds the beer over. "Have all you want." he adds before turning his head. It's strange how sedately he seems to be taking this. "It does make sense. But also... it's not just that. I don't believe that any of the old gods were -chosen-. And it wouldn't have happened with any of the Olympians. New York isn't going to combine their beliefs and all prayt to one god so... " He pulls away just a bit and lifts both brows, "I am confused."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
After a long pull on the beer, she holds it staring into space. "So, am I. Oh, am I. And, I certainly don't know the whole story, just what I saw." A question gives her sudden energy, "Do you know Dr. Strange?"
