A Force Reborn Part 3
Date of Scene: 29 July 2020
Location: Forbidding cave full of Dire Wraiths.
Synopsis: The heroines discover the heart of the dire wraith plot, encounter the captured Space Knight Rom, and borrow his neutralizer to take down the machine using Singularity as a power source to free her and send all the dire wraiths back to Limbo.
Cast of Characters: Singularity, Mary Bromfield, Marie-Ange Colbert, Meggan Puceanu, Nadia Pym-van Dyne, Jemma Simmons

Singularity has posed:
The cave hums and vibrates with a deep sound that comes and goes in waves, barely heard, but rumbling through the rock. As Thunderbolt darts in with most following after her, Alison is drawn back by a couple returning guards, staying to hold them off to keep the group from being cut off as the strange doubled vision of an alien world overlaid over the normal one continue to flicker in and out...the cave turning from normal stone to a magma tube that leaks heat and sulphur.

Inside, the cave splits into three passages.

To the right comes a strange caustic scent, similar to the smell of the alien creatures who guarded the exterior once they revealed themselves. To the left is the scent of ozone and heat, a shimmering reflection of light from the other end causing shadows to dance back down the corridor to where you are. In the center is a wider passages that leads deeper into the cliffside. It's a good thing that it's wide too, because every time the alien world overlays it, the center becomes a deep crevasse, with the sullen red of magma deep below. At the same time, it becomes freezing cold whenever that change takes place, with the heat counter the cold to keep it uncomfortable but tolerable for those not blessed with invulnerability.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Thunderbolt hovers in the air, as the passage breaks off into three sections. She then hrms, thinking carefully, "Okay, from what I can sense... the right passage has more of those... whatever they are, wraiths? The center holds the worst danger... and the left, there's an ally there. I think. It might be where they have Singularity."

She then glides down to stand by Tarot, "I can go down the center, as I'm the most likely to take whatever is there. If these things are keeping Singularity prisoner, she might be down on the left." She glances at the others, not wanting to wait too long... but well, she's definitely willing to listen here.

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
When it comes to decisions, Tarot doesn't make them. She'll allow the cards to do it for her, or she'll follow orders. So there's a look given over to Thunderbolt as she lays out what may be down which path, and the question is asked. "Which way would you like me to go?" she asks, willing to submit to the other woman's judgement when it comes to this particular decision.

Meggan Puceanu has posed:
This close to another realm, one stained by power, Meggan herself reflects the collision physically. A glow of the northern lights flashes uncontrollably around her, and her eyes are canted, elongated, and a swirl of strange colours. Taller than her human self by a half-foot or so, the faint copper sheen of her bare legs and hands related somehow to the magma tube and memories of heat. The heavy stench of horrid beings, acidic and eyewatering, earns an instant reaction. "Eww." Coughing into her elbow, her stinging, glowing eyes definitely don't take well to the vapos.

Unwilling to wipe the back of her hand over her face, instead she makes do with wrinkling her nose. It will be over soon enough. "I don't care much for splitting the group. That always turns out badly in horror shows. Someone hides in the woodpile and runs off through the forest, and instead of sensibly sticking together, they all end up eaten," she ruefully admits. "Let's start with the right. Finding Singularity is more important than banging down those ghastly things' doors right off. We can dismiss the easiest and go onto the hardest, maybe?"

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Specimen collected, Nadia glances in Jemma's direction and gives her a wink, "Let's go, we can talk later." before following the others into the cave.

Her gaze trails after Meggan with some fascination at the changes the place is causing in her. But the gave itself is also fascinating and her attention is nearly evenly split between the readings coming in to her suit and keeping track of where the others have gone up ahead.

Jemma Simmons has posed:
    "Oh, most definitely.

Jemma is on Nadia's heels as the two run into the cave. There is a sudden gasp, as Jemma claws the ballistics glasses off of her face. "The infra-red readings are completely erratic. I am afraid about all the use I am going to be is perhaps as a target." A little dark from the scientist, to be sure.

Still, Jemma shows no signs of stopping. The glasses are tucked away into a pocket. The cryogenic railgun is squeezed just a little tighter, Jemma's first line of personal defense. Reaching the crossroads, the SHIELD agent eyes the tunnels ahead. "I do hope you don't mind me saying so, but I do believe our elemental friend is correct. We should go for your friend. If she is the key, as you say, then rescuing her is our priority."

Because, yeah....Jemma only knows Nadia by name. The others are very impressive...and absolutely nameless to her for the moment.

Singularity has posed:
Left it is. The group rapidly makes their way down the path at a jog, the rock around them shimmering and changing from limestone to solidified magma tube. One thing that's noticeable is the air seems to be changing as well....those of a more scientific bent would realize the amount of oxygen in the air is significantly greater, maybe twice as much as normal now, with just a hint of ash in the air.

Rounding the corner, you burst into a small cavern, that appears to have been turned into a prison of sorts. Metallic twisting bars block off small chambers, several containing worse for wear humans...a park ranger, some hikers, an older couple with a small terrier, etc. What looks to be high tech torture equipment is scattered around the room, as well as storage areas, and a table with a trio of Dire Wraiths and their weapons.

What definitely draws the attention most however, is a shimmering ball of energy that swirls around a tall, imposing figure that somehow project an aura of nobility...tall, and silver armored, with gleaming red eyes, currently spreadeagled in the center as a fourth Dire Wraith lashes at the space knight with a crackling whip made of greenish energy. Nearby is a cylinder in which an odd device rotates, silver like the knight, with a crystaline matrix 'barrel' and a obvious handle with a trigger on it.

One of the Dire Wraith jerks to its feet, snarling. "INTRUDERS!" They go for their weapons as the one with the whip turns around, stepping forward...

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Thunderbolt looks a bit abashed as she, of all people, should know better about splitting the party. But that doesn't last long as she launches into action, flying at the Dire Wraith with the whip and looking to throw them into the wall. She's careful to avoid killing them, but roughing them up a LOT is totally fine.

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
Tarot knows she's not the strongest of the group by any means; not with Thunderbolt around! So spying the prisoners being kept off to the side in those chambers, she starts casually moving over in that direction in hopes that she might not be noticed in the effort to free those being trapped while Thunderbolt and the others focus attention on the wraiths.

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Nadia follows after the group. When they come upon the room with the prisoners and the torture devices her eyes go a bit wide and she takes a step back. Her attention flickers from the people do the various pieces of technology to the odd space knight.

"We have to help them!" she calls out as she flies into the fray.

She may not be a Shazam but for a sixteen year old girl she is surprsingly fast and strong. What's more there is no wasted motion to her movements and her martial arts adapted for three dimensional combat coupled with high intensity wrist mounted energy blasters are absolutely brutal.

Jemma Simmons has posed:
As Jemma enters, a quick assessment is given of the environs. Four of those shape-shifting aliens...one of them seemingly whipping that prone silver figure. Prisoners in cages. And, as the seconds play out, it is apparent what everyone else is doing. The flying Thunderbolt is taking out the opposition, while the tarot-wielding female is taking the moment to rescue the people. And...with Nadia running interference, it leaves Jemma unnoticed.

If that alien was whipping the silver-armored form...then...it must be good. And, any enemy of the aliens... With that, Jemma is in motion. She dashes over towards where the whip-armed alien was, before Mary smashed into it. Running in quickly, Jemma quickly examines the silver cylinder and, in a spur of the moment decision, picks up the device.

It has a trigger and a barrel. It has to be some sort of weapon, right? Not that Jemma likes using weapons, it would be dreadfully practical to have more than one at the present time.

Singularity has posed:
The whip-wielding wraith reflexively lashes out as Mary flies at him, the crackling energy wrapping around her middle before it sparks, sending a deep shock of energy burning through her as it seems to activate all her nerves in the area hit with a burst of pain. Of course, then he's wrapped around Thunderbolt with the whip as she piles into him, both of them going flying into the opposite wall with a crash that sends a bit of ash drifting down from the ceiling, before the whip wraith rolls back to his feet, raising it to send it cracklign at Thunderbolt again!

The three Wraiths at the table grab their rifle, opening fire on Nadia as she zooms at them, her stinger blasters catching one of them in the head as he reels back, before she catches a second solidly in the chest, his rifle blast going wild to chew a hole through the wall by the door. The last lunges forward, trying to slam the butt of his rifle into Nadia's back with a hissing snarl!

ile their companions keep the wraiths at bay, Meggan and Marie have a moment to go to the cages and use their abilities to break them open, the people inside running rapidly for the door as Marie covers them with a distracting summon of her cards.

The weapon is heavy...though it looks like a pistol, it's better held like a carbine in two hands for Jemma to keep it under control. Pulling it free of the cylinder it's floating over is a simple enough thing. The silver knight in the other prison turns his head, following Jemma's movements, then speaks in an urgent voice with a faint electronic echo to it. "Quickly...the Neutralizer...it is tuned to strike the Dire Wraiths! Use it freely, its systems are currently unlocked! It will not harm your companions!"

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Thunderbolt blinks in surprise as, well, she's not used to actually feeling /pain/ when she's in this form. Which is a bit of an unpleasant surprise, as she instinctively dodges to the side, moving as a blur as she then just clotheslines the Dire Wraith she's fighting with the whip, "Stay DOWN."

She glances back at Jemma, and nods slightly towards the captive knight, "How can we get you out of there?" Thunderbolt suddenly starts crackling with a bit of electricity, just in case it's necessary since... well, these things are definitely tougher than they appear.

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Hitting a Wasp that doesn't want to be hit is easier said than done. One moment she is there and the next she is gone or at least seemingly gone as she changes between insect size and human size in the blink of an eye popping up and vanishing again repeatedly as she fires off another series of shots at the creatures. To anyone unfamiliar with her abilities it might almost seem like she is teleporting about the room.

Jemma Simmons has posed:
Well....that is a big gun. The cryo-gun is swiftly holstered as Jemma manages to heft the gun into her arms. It is a rather comical image, the petite Jemma toting a gun around like an AR. A certain were-bear would be so proud.

But then, the bound figure speaks! And...tells her to shoot? "O...Okay." Jemma turns, deciding to face the three Dire Wraiths facing off against Nadia. Science girls stick together...and Jemma swings the too-large pistol around, firing from the hip as she pulls the trigger.

If anyone is watching....they just might catch Jemma closing her eyes and hoping for the best as the trigger is pulled, the barrel aimed at the alien menace.

Singularity has posed:
The wraith with the whip is not quite as used to people fighting back, it seems, and definitely not for someone to recover so quick from the whip as Thunderbolt moves with appropriately lightning speed as there's a solid *WHACK* as the clothesline send the wraith spinning end over end to slam into one of the storage devices, shattering it as it slides to a halt.

The Knight says. "Not possible from here. The power source the wraiths are using is generating the field directly from their Wraith Integrator that is forcing their banished homeworld, Wraithworld, from Limbo to possess this one; its power took me by suprise or I would not be so bound."

The wraiths certainly aren't expecting someone with the power of shrinking, firing wildly as they try to connect, one going down as Nadia lands an axe kick on top of its head with a slightly squishy *thud* as it crumples to the ground, the remaining two trying to retreat to get a clear shot, one seeing Jemma. "No! The neutralizer!" It raises a rifle to take aim at the agent!

And then Jemma pulls the trigger on the Neutralizer. A cone of crimson energy blasts out front the crystals as they vibrate with a chime, washing over the two remaining wraiths and catching the two on the ground. The pair shriek throwing up their hand as their rifles seem to fall through them, the aliens becoming transparent, then fading from view completely. Well. When it disintegrates, it REALLY disintegrates, apparently!

"Well done. You've sent them back to their prison in Limbo. But you must stop the remainder before they achieve a stable resonance, or your world will be lost!" His ruby visor flashes. "Be warned, however, the power backlash from destroying the machine will likely collapses this cavern shortly thereafter. Do not concern yourself with me, if you can bring down the field by destroying it, I can escape. The light of Galador be with you, heroes!" The battle has given time for the remaining prisoners to be freed and out the door with Meggan's help, Marie going with them as they make for the front of the cave where Dazzler is waiting.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Thunderbolt nods to the Knight, "Alright, we'll have to go to the center path, then... once we get everyone else out. Tarot, keep them safe." She looks at the redhead, looking like she wants to say something else, but refrains for now. Besides, Tarot knows how she feels.

Instead, Thunderbolt looks over at Jemma, "Well, I think you're up front if that's okay with you. Don't worry, I'll cover you." She grins, taking the point again as she intends, barring other discussion, to move down the middle to rescue Singularity (hopefully) and end the Dire Wraith threat (definitely).

Meggan Puceanu has posed:
Meggan is perfectly happy to go ahead and tear through bars, rip down concrete barriers, rip open stone, whatever happens to be the necessity of the moment. She truly has no patience for all this trouble going on, hurting people being hellish for an empath and doubly so for one so acutely sensitive. Her silence is in large part due to the weird compression of space and planes wobbling around her, but the colour of her skin is settling back in.

The prisoners set forth are a lovely sight, anyway, but protective as her role may be, it's about to shift. "I am really not okay with these creatures. Whether they come from Heaven or Hell or Hades, they've hurt people!" A little growl is not little when caged in her throat.

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Nadia floats in the air after her axe kick hovering, eyes a bit wide as she watches Jemma unleash the COOL SPACE WEAPON on the Dire Wraiths, "What is THAT?! I want one!" she slaps the sides of her face with both hands, "Later, focus Nadia." and flies over to where the space knight is contained and the machinery keeping him there. "Maybe I can deactivate this, there has to be something controlling the energy flow, or possibly an opposing polarity blast from my gauntlets..." Science Brain Engage!

Jemma Simmons has posed:
"I....really have no idea. The armored individual told me to fire...and, well, you saw what happened." The answer is honest to Nadia...and the shock of what it did wears off, leaving Jemma back to her common sense. "Hmm...right. We still have work to do."

There is a nod to Mary as Jemma adjusts her grip on the Neutralizer. "Right. I suppose it does make sense for me to be right behind you. Considering our friend's contribution here. Let us move onward to save your Singularity, and our world."

Singularity has posed:
Rom nods slightly as the group is off, running back the way they came and taking a quick turn down the central passage, now fully overcome by Wraithworld with the crevasse down the middle leading to the fiery magma far below. It seems Marie had enough time to throw a tarot figure down as well, as whirling swords fill the rightmost path, keeping at bay dire wraith reinforcements, though they howl angrily as the group runs through. Which is bad for them because it means Jemma gets a free moment to level the weapon, the wraiths' eyes getting really big right before another blast of crimson energy washes over the entire group as they fade away back to Limbo. Following along through several twists and turns bring the group to a door that is no match for Thunderbolt's strength as she crashes through it, knocking it across the room.

Beyond is an artificially expanded cavern about the size of a football field, with a smoothed out floor and several tiers of platforms around the sides on which various dire wraiths, many of them in stolen human forms, are at work at a variety of technological panels and controls. In the center of the floor is a tall cylinder that rises three stories , nearly brushing the top of the cavern, made of organic, twisted metal and wires, with a spiked tuning fork spinning rapidly around what looks like a red and green tinged soap bubble of energy, with coiling cables leading to resonating giant 'drums' on their side that are responsible for the basso *THRUM* that vibrates through the cavern. Here, Wraithworld is supreme, with small runnels of magma running down the walls here and there, forming pools that smoke and smell of sulpur and ash.

Floating helplessly in the sphere is a girl made of stars, energy running over her like she's caught inside one of those novelty plasma spheres, energy pulled out of her into the globe as she struggles, caught in the midst of them like in a spider's web. Each throb of the machine, each pull of energy from her draws a cry from her...and the machines hungrily echo each cry, throbbing with resonance as they tune closer and closer to the dire wraith's phantom world, pulling it closer to this one to possess it.

Near one side is a shimmering irregular crystal that whos a woman in robes on the other side, as she speaks to a taller dire wraith in green and purple robes of his own. "...nearly complete. Once the resonance balances, our tech will restore Wraithworld at last." The woman sniffs. "Your pathetic tech may serve some purpose at last, it seems...but do not be too proud of your little toy." Her eyes flick over as the door bursts open, as she casually brushes a loose strand of pure white hair behind an ear, her Chinese features twisting in a smirk. "I think you may yet have to prove yourself, Takiz." The robed dire wraith spins around, looking shocked. "What?!? KILL THEM! Do not let them stop the machine!!!"

This of course is where all the wraiths in the room freeze, then dive for whatever weapons they have close at hand. Some just leaps straight at the group from the higher platforms!

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Thunderbolt shouts, "Let her go you creeps!" She glances over at Nadia, then nods towards the machine, while she looks at Jemma, "I think they need to see your new gizmo."

With that, she launches herself towards the Dire Wraiths that are leaping at them directly, using her speed and strength to punch them away. Be a shame if they fell into the liquid hot magma or anything before Jemma vaporized them, anyawy.

Meggan Puceanu has posed:
So it's been established that, in the face of danger, Meggan tends to go right in. But Thunderbolt does too, which makes up for the fact that Jemma and Marie are much more strategic, and Dazzler keeps the party moving. This does not change from a cave to a weird control room. Not with one where a very nice girl who celebrated the fireworks, music, and food of a festival is being hurt.

Impulse may be a bad idea where weapons are involved, people on platforms and people on the ground pretending to be people insisting on heading the nascent group's way. The British activist clenches her fists and...

No more British activist. It's not that her body disappears, she simply turns utterly transparent as the wind. The elemental force that lets her fly likewise can completely convert her body into a perfectly presented cloud of mist. Perfect for shooting through, perfect for flying straight to the Chinese woman in a very interesting set of robes. She has a nose? A mouth? Great. She has to breathe, and good luck doing that with Meggan in that aerial form wrapped around her face. Because that substance doesn't have to be /oxygen/, and it's most certainly not. Nitrogen to the rescue!

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Nadia eventually gives up on freeing the space knight and races after the others, "If you're sure you'll be okay, okay bye!"

She zips through the caverns behind them as the Wraith World merger effects seem to get worse and worse. Coming up on the huge cavern she stops short marveling at it in a mix of fascinating and horror. "Woah..."

For a moment she is taken aback and she looks at Jemma as a fellow scientist pesent, "Is... is that a girl made of stars?" she asks trying to wrap her brain around it. But there's no time for that and she doesn't really wait for an answer as she zips off to try and apply those same ideas she was theorizing about the knight's prison to releasing the girl made of stars.

Making a few adjustments to the intensity and polarity of her gauntlet beams she begins a few test shots to see if she can disrupt the energy field rather than overpower it.

Jemma Simmons has posed:
So...this is what it is like to be on the front lines. The right tunnel, full of Dire Wraiths, is no longer full of acidic creatures from the depths of Limbo as Jemma fires her newfound shiny toy. It works wonders for clearing out nasties...and that is something that Jemma has decided to use to her advantage.

As the group enters the enlarged chamber down the middle path, the brown eyes play upward, catching sight of the blue girl in what seems to be a harnessing chamber. Nadia's question is not lost on Jemma...as Jemma replies. "I...I understand now. Singularity. She's a sentient quantum singularity!" And...as much as Jemma would like to science more, there is work to be done.

Like those attacking Dire Wraiths that Mary hasn't punched into the magma pools.

Jemma hefts up the neutralizer to focus on the Wraiths going for the weapons. In the process, she cries out to Nadia. "See if you can find a way to disable that chamber she is in! I'll try to join you once I take care of our unwanted guests!"

Singularity has posed:
It's a bit like watchign a wire-work martial arts flick for a moment, as Thunderbolt strikes...well, like a bolt of lightning, almost blurhing as she intercepts the incoming crowd of leaping wraiths to send them flying in all directions in a series of short, violent thumps, clearing the way for those behind her. Meggan turns gaseous, shooting forwards towards the group surrounding the robed dire wraith in front of the communications crystal, the Chinese woman, wherever she is, letting out a cackling laugh of enjoyment as she blocks the wraithlord Takiz' breathing as he claws at her as his guards pull what look suspiciously like electrical clubs and try to jab at her, seeing if they can affect her in her current form.

Meanwhile, Nadia flies up to the bubble, beginning to zap the field around Singularity. AS she applies pressure, the energy seems to leap to the inside of the sphere where its applied, first a few, then more as the machine starts to make a dismaying hum. Singularity presses her hands against the sphere, blinking at Nadia through it, then seeming to concentrate, pushing as bluish flares of energy start to run around the interior, further straining the energy construct.

And them Jemma wades in and opens fire on the wraiths as they're just starting to turn to the heroines who've surged deeper into the chamber, the first blast washing away a handful in one go. "She has the space knight's Neutralizer!!" one yelps in fear. Many dive for cover, suddenly more interested in self-preservation than following their leader's shouted orders. One actually bumps another right off the platform as it plunges screaming into one of the magma pockets, burhing away to a fine dust in seconds that evaporates on the air. Others are not quick enough to dodge as Jemma plays the beam over the platforms, thoroughly throwing the defense into disarray! All is pandemonium!

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Thunderbolt looks at Nadia and Singularity, "Cool idea, but if you need more juice." She pauses, then grins as she gets an idea, "Get ready, because there's a reason I'm called Thunderbolt!" With that, she suddenly bolts up through the top of the hill, crashing through dirt and rock and blasting a hole into the night sky. In the distance, there's a faint peal of thunder, then a shout from above from Mary as she yells...

"SHAZAM!!!"

And a massive lightning bolt just roars into the cave through the opening Mary made, engulfing the energy field with surgical precision to try and crack it open and free Singularity from her captivity.

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Nadia waves at the Star Girl in the bubble "We're here to help!"

When she hears Mary's declaration she blinks, "I er what? I mean I was trying to disrupt it but okay, lightning works!" and gets the hell out of the way as Thunderbolt unleashes a massive volley of her namesake!

Jemma Simmons has posed:
Sweeping the platforms of anything that remotely looks at her newfound friends funny, Jemma manages to find a moment to consider the energy containment field. And...specifically, what Nadia is doing. The concept of overloading the field seems to be a sound plan. Also, since the neutralizer is seemingly taking care of these Dire Wraiths...maybe it will take care of their tech, too.

It is worth a shot. Literally. With the neutralizer in her hands, Jemma aims upward and fires. The crystals start their chiming, as the red energy beam lances out to hit the containment field. It....also happens to hit right at the exact moment that Thunderbolt decides to demonstrate her namesake. The cavern fills with a brilliant light as the bolt of lighting, the neutralizer's emissions, Nadia's wrist blasters, and Singularity's own unique power all hit the containment field...at the exact, same time.

Singularity has posed:
The thunderous blast of lightning hits the sphere directly, and the power conduits of energy already being pulled from Singularity to focus where Nadia is trying to disrupt the field all jump straight to it, including the bolt of lightning as it grounds into the machinery in a huge shower of sparks, just as Jemma fires the Neutralizer straight at the energy field, creating a new, amplified resonance that is directly opposite the resonance the machine was attempting to create, which promptly travels to all of the amplifying resonators around the room in a shower of red lightning that crawls down the coils.

The drume-like resonators ring out with a higher pitched frequency like a bell being struck that blasts through the room as the lightning jitters, then jumps from the machinery straight into the nearest wraiths as they shriek in pain, then pop like soapbubbles, fading from existence one after the other as the reversed energy creates a massive neutralization field. One after the other, the wraiths pop out of existence as the reddish coils of power unerringly seek them out...including the one on Nadia's belt, which might give her a bit of a shock as well!

At the same time, the machinery begins overloading, panels and strange pieces of machinery detonating and platforms collapsing as the lightning starts to play over the transformed walls of the cavern, washing wide swaths of Wraithworld away, back to the other side as the cavern starts to shake, the underlying rock cracking under the strain.

But the bubble pops, and Singularity is free as she shoots out, flipping over. "Thank you!" She blinks as a piece of the main tower blows off, spinning past her. "Leaving! Now!" She drops to the ground, holding out a hand as the air rips open in a swirl of blue energy, leaving a portal open to...well, somewhere! "Go!"

As the wraithlord dissolves with the rest, Meggan is freed to retreat, zipping through the portal, with everyone else, dodging bits of rock fallign from above and exploding machinery can dive through as well, Mary last through as she narrowly avoids the tower itself toppling down on top of her and the portal with a crash! As the cavvern collapses, the woman in the crystal smirks. "How....mediocre." She laughts, before the com is cut off by the crystal being shattered by a falling platform.

The group abruptly finds themselves outside of the cave about thirty meters back from the entrance, where Alison and Marie and the rescued people are waiting, along with the tall silvery form of the space knight. Looking back, you're just in time to see the hill seem to crumble in on itself as with a roar of rock giving way it collapses. The spiked forked tip of the tower follows Mary through just before it cuts off, skidding into the ground nearby as it sputters and sparks, as Meggan feels a part of the Earth just....go away. Somewhere else.

But at least the effects of the resonance are over.

The knight walks over, then inclines his head respectfully. "Thank you. Without you, this might have spelled the end for your world. I am Rom, space knight of Galador. I have been hunting these foul wraiths since I learned they had come to this world. It was unfortunate they found such ap owerful power source for their plans..." He looks to Singularity, who blinks at him. "....you should use care that they do not reacquire her again." He holds out a hand to Jemma. "May I have my Neutralizer, please?"
