Green Lantern's in orbit after being exploded. Supergirl to the rescue!
Date of Scene: 01 August 2020
Location: Earth's Orbit, Space
Synopsis: Hal is rescued by Supergirl, and magically healed by Tempest. He returns the city of Kandor into Supergirl's keeping.
Cast of Characters: Hal Jordan, Kara Danvers, Garth

Hal Jordan has posed:
Space. The final frontier. These are the voyages of a knocked out Green Lantern, who is in a currently endless Orbit. The Ring went into 'stasis/power saving mode' to hold out energy as long as it can till rescue arrives.

Inside the green forcefield, the Lantern looks WAY the worse for wear. The exploding battery didn't just knock him out, there's probably some broken bones, a concussion, bleeding only being stopped by the power of the ring, and more bad stuff. Sometimes, saving the day really hurts.

The Lantern has actually been floating in and out consciousness as he continues orbit, but the ring seems aware that he's not capable of making sound decisions like that, so it maintains stasis so he stays alive.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Supergirl takes in a giant breath. The air gets cool, crisp.. then thin.. then not at all. The universe doesn't go silent in space, tiny particles still ping off of her ears creating unique twangs as she moves. It is a bit like hearing the echos of sound when underwater, though even more intense and sparse.

The sun unshielded by the atmosphere baths her like a warm loving friend and while she would like to relax against it, she cannot hold her breath forever. There is a member of the Justice League in trouble. She isn't a member, though her cousin is and helping is what House El does.

Her field of vision stretches in to the ink black distance, the shimmering corona of solar winds ebbing and permeating from the sun gives her the best chance to see the long orbital drags of satellites and meteors. There, in the distance, at an orbit 600km away - Hal Jordan.

Hal Jordan has posed:
Fortunately, the Ring does mean the Lantern's body is glowing pretty brightly out there, which makes him much easier to spot if you're anywhere in the general vicinity. It's probably even possible for normal people to spot him with a telescope on a fairly regular basis as his orbit continues, though such spottings are only for a second or two before he's moved too far to see.

The Ring is not yet aware of anybody close enough to help, so it maintains its function of keeping the Lantern alive.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Supergirl reaches out her hands toward Hal and begins to fly through the 'vacuum' of space. She has to play dodge with all the space junk through the various layers in orbit around the planet. She's disappointed that the international space station s on the other side of the planet at the moment. She likes waving to those scientists.

She arrives to see the bloodied mess of Hal Jordan and swoops around him. Time to get him back home. She tilts her head looking at the glowing ring for a moment, having never seen it up close before. It's incredible technology and she wonders if any one high up in Kryptonian government was involved in the Lantern Corps.

For now though, she scoops up his broken body and thrusts forward back to Earth. Outside atmosphere, the speed doesn't matter, but re-entry is when she'll have to be careufl.

Hal Jordan has posed:
Now the ring notices her. The universal translator is indeed universal, so it actually addresses Kara in Kryptonian. <<Aid is requested. Green Lantern 2814 is seriously injured. Power remaining at 16 percent>> Being as they're in space and sound doesn't work so well, it actually appears in green Kryptonian script to read. That's plenty to tank re-entry, though, which isn't particularly difficult for Lanterns, considering space travel is their thing.

The ring assesses re-entry is imminent, and, <<Medical facilities or magical healing would be prudent>>. Again, in her language, as the ring makes no guesses about whether alien species can read other languages.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara gestures silently to the alien interface projecting in her language. The gestures apparently mean something and Kryptonian technology would have understood. It was a natural reflex and she realises she shouldn't have assumed that just because it can write in her language does not mean it would work like a Kryptonian computer.

Kara acts as a heat shield as they start to hit orbit. She has learnt over the last year just how ouchie re-entry can be if you don't get the angle right.. so she gets that angle right. She keeps Hal behind her as the heat and speed starts to burn away around them. Between her Kryptonian fabrics, super body and Hal's ring the bumpy re-entry is swift.

At high altitude, she ponders the best place for him to get medical treatment. Probably where Tony went when the big laser blew up the insides of his tower. She heads toward the New York Presbyterian Hospital with tempered urgency and lands with Hal in her arms in the emergency department.

The arrival of Supergirl is enough to draw attention. She says in her oddly accented English, "I need help, this is the Green Lantern and he is gravely injured." When Supergirl says jump, people jump. There is a rush of motion, with surgical gurney and respirator, heart monitors, a crash team... the emergency department ramps in to full swing.

Hal Jordan has posed:
Of course, the Doctors go to work, as doctors do. The ring is providing extra assistance, but...while that will make sure he survives, mostly, it won't actually heal him superquick. He'd need a mage to get back on his feet in short order.

...Finally, the doctors have him stabilized (The mask stubbornly remained on his face so his ID remained secure.) And...he's actually awake! He can talk now.

A doctor says, "You can see him if you want..."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara is not good at waiting. She is often not a patient person, even as a kid back on Krypton. Now that she can think and act super fast, it's even worse. Being Kara Danvers is an escape from a racing mind, a relaxing time to simply be. Eventually though, the doctors let her know she can see him and she nods her head, "Thank you Doctor."

A stern face, she can't help but look serious. She enters the IC recovery ward and stands by his bed. She shakes her head to the man. "Wow, you're a mess." She takes his hand in hers and _very carefully_ gives it a gentle squeeze. "May be leave orbit to the satellites."

Hal Jordan has posed:
"Wasn't orbit that did this. Was that damn battery Iron Man made to restore mutant town. It went critical, so I took into space. ...If it did this to me, you can imagine what it'd have done to everyone there. ...had to take the hit. At least I survived it."

Green Lantern thinks, and then has a request. "...Supergirl, would you mind retrieving the battery? I'll make it findable. The Ring's gonna need a recharge long before I recover. Unless you can find Zee and get her over here, or maybe one of the other mages." A green key appears, so she can get in without breaking stuff.

Kara Danvers has posed:
"Ouch. I should have been there to do that for you," though even she's not sure how badly such an explosion would have hurt her. At least in space she would have recharged. She looks at the green key and takes it in her hand, "I will. I'll find you the best mage I know too. Remain here Green Lanter."

Giving him one last little smile, she steps out of the ICU recovery ward and in a blur shoots out of the New York Presbeyterian Hospital. The flight to Hal's apartment is a quick one but on the way she turns on the T-comms, "Titans, Garth.. are you there Garth? I need your help. The Green Lantern is very injured and says he needs magical healing. I can fly by and pick you up."

She arrives at Hal's apartment and turns the key entering the place to find his lantern. Another on a long list of firsts this year.

Hal Jordan has posed:
The Lantern, which was previously invisible, even, surprisingly, to Kryptonian eyes, reacts to the green key Hal made. Turns out there's now a bright green glow coming from under the bed. No, it's not an original place to put it.

Hal's place is actually pretty neat and orderly, as befits an ex Air Force guy who is used to military style cleanliness and hospital corners on beds and so on.

Garth has posed:
Garth returns the com-call quickly, "I'm here, Supergirl. No need, just find someplace to land and I can come to you," he says. He's familiarized himself a little with the auras of the Titans he's met, at least, and Kryptonians tend to be fairly unique regardless. He takes a moment to press his palms together, centering his energies. He had been meditating on a beach and, as he rises to his feet, the water lapping at the shore rises to form a portal that he walks through, stepping out just behind Kara in his iridiscent black and green bodysuit, purple eyes gleaming a bit.

"Set him down and let me get a look. Also: hi."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara gets down on her hands and knees and reaches underneath the bed to retrieve the glowing lantern. So, when Garth enters via portal in to Hal's apartment, he can see cape and Supergirl butt. She draws back out from under the bed soon and then says, "Actually, uh, hi, he's in New York in a hospital." She smirks slightly amused, but also secretly amazed he could do that.

"Can you portal us to the Presbeyterian hospital, or shall I just give you a hug and fly us both there now? He's in a real bad ways." She hoists the lantern under an arm, "Hence this."

Garth has posed:
Garth raises an eyebrow, "I can portal. I haven't even closed the other. Just need to shift. Hold on," he says. He reaches into his suit and pulls out a phone, quickly pulling up a map.

"Sorry, my surface geography needs some refreshing," he mutters, before he shifts the portal again, scanning through the hallways for a moment until he finds an empty room, "Off we go."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara murmurs to herself, "This has been a weird day, why stop now." With a raised eyebrow she notes that StarkMaps is actually good for magic. She steps through the water powered portal and back in to the urgent sounds of the hospital ICU.. supply closet.

Stepping out of there and back in to the ward itself, she motions to Garth and rushes over to one particular bed where Hal is resting. "Green Lantern, I'm back with your battery and a mage." She sounds and is quite pleased with herself. Having friends in Titan places is useful. She has made a mental note to find out more about Zee some time though, her cousin probably knows.

Garth has posed:
Garth is beginning to think he should've used some sort of disguise spell but, then, she's just saying "Hey, Green Lantern" so we're probably well past subtlety at this point.

"At least he's human. That's a help," he says. "Alien physiologies can be...more difficult," he says. Humans were weird enough as it is, but were mostly the same as Atlanteans. He takes a few moments to mutters a few things under his breath, making complex gestures with his fingers, pressing fingerpoints against each other, his arms moving in precise angles until his hands start to glow with radiant warmth.

Hal Jordan has posed:
Green Lantern asks Supergirl, "Can you bring that lantern over here while he chants?"

When it is brought...he raises his right arm...which actually makes him wince, but he raises it enough to put the ring in the proper spot.

"In Brightest Day, in Blackest Night"

"No evil shall escape my sight"

"Let those who worship evil's might"

"Beware my power, Green Lantern's Light!"

And with the ring back at 100 percent charge, all he has to wait for now is the mage to finish chanting, and he might be okay. Still, there's a LOT of wounds to fix.

Garth has posed:
Garth presses his hands to Hal's abdomen, touching the central point of his solar plexus, the concentric anchor of his chi. He pours mystic energy in, minglign with the infusion of Green Lantern power, both of them flooding the tissues of the wounded hero. Garth's eyes go wide for a moment as he feels that cosmic power, so different from the sources he taps and yet somehow akin.

He can direct the energy flow quickly, connected now to Hal's body, stitching him together and making sure things go where they belong, "Almost done,' he says, his voice having an eerie echo for a moment from the mustic force spilling through his spirit before he finally draws his hands up.

"Well. That was an experience," he says in his normal voice.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara rests the lantern next to Hal so he can recite his password poem. She steps back as Garth goes to work with the magical weirdness. She smiles, glad he's on her team. "How are you feeling?," she asks Hal and then looks to Garth. "Thank you Tempest, I'm glad you were available."

Hal Jordan has posed:
Indeed, to the world of mysticism, the Green Light of Will is so similar, and yet so different. Willpower made into green light, originated by the entity of Will, Ion.

The affect is immediate. Good thing the doctors spent a lot of time setting all those broken bones. Took a while, too, because when the magic healing starts, the bones are able to heal 'cleanly' and will not require any rebreaks. The internal bleeding and concussion were nasty too, and Hal's thinking much more clearly now. The soft muscle tissue damage was probably the easiest thing to fix, but it's such a relief to have it done.

"...Thanks, Tempest. Say hi to Aquaman for me, if you see him first." Entirely possible, considering.

"I'm feeling much better now, thank you. I appreciate all you just did, Supergirl."

Garth has posed:
Garth feels fairly tingly all over himself, an after-effect of such an invasive magick. His pupils are a bit dilated, but he's not going to grab a chair in front of Supergirl. Nope. He's gonna stand there like he's not dizzy at all.

"Glad I could help. That's quite a mess you got yourself into there, GL," he says. He nods about Aquaman. He's always saying hi to Aquaman for everybody.

Kara Danvers has posed:
"You're more than welcome Green Lantern." She places her hands to her hips and tilts her head just a touch. "Though, there is something I wanted to discuss with you. On Brainiac's ship, you rescued the bottled city of Kandor. It was the capital of Krypton. Kal-El and myself have been discussing this and we'd like to take the city back in to our own custody. There are a lot of reasons we should look after it for now, many of which I can't go in to. If that is okay with you, I'd like to collect it at the soonest convenience."

Hal Jordan has posed:
"Oh, right. It's back at my place though. We're gonna have to fly over there." Because of course he didn't have anything so precious on him when he was out fighting and getting asploded! Common sense, and all.

"I was planning to give it to one of you anyway...clearly the technology to restore it is gonna take some work, and more work because it's a Kryptonian city, and we don't have a planet to put it on yet." Which is more than a little problematic. "Mutant Town was aided by putting it back pretty much exactly where it was."

Meanwhile, the Doctors check the Lantern over, and upon concluding the magic did its work, they say, "Everything appears clear now, Green Lantern."

"Thanks!" Well, off to retrieve it then.

Garth has posed:
Garth smiles, "Sounds like you guys have more business to attend to. I'll leave you to it. If you should need my services again, Supergirl knows how to get ahold of me. I'll see you around the tower," he says to Supergirl.

Rather than teleport this time, he's just going to walk out. He stands out a bit in his suit but so what. It's New York.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara nods her head and says, "Thank you. There are many and complex considerations for it." She waves to Garth, "See you at the tower Tempest." With that, she's flying with Hal across the country side again.

Hal Jordan has posed:
A quick flight across country, and they arrive a few blocks away from his place. Hal isn't an idiot, so he 'powers down' out of sight of his apartment, and walks up after the fact. One has to be careful with maintaining their identity like that. Once out of Lantern mode, he just wears his usual clothes and his usual flight jacket. He figures Supergirl will change to match.

Once inside, it's easy enough to hand her to bottled city. It, too, was kept under the bed, where the Lantern itself was. Apparently he puts all super important things under there. Who knew? "It'll probably take time to figure out how to restore it, but once you find a place to put it, the science crowd can probably re-engineer that device. Hopefully with less city nuking explosions."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Supergirl accepts the city in to her arms like she's cradling a baby, like how she used to care for Kal-El when he was but a wee little thing in a bundle of clothe. She smiles to Hal and says, "Thank you so much for rescuing this city. It may be the last piece of my home. It was only a year and a half ago that I was sent away from Krypton. This city, existing, has been an emotional revelation for me."

She offers her hand to him to shake it, "I must take this away to a special place for now. We must talk to its residences to see what has become of them and what they wish to happen next. Thank you again."

Hal Jordan has posed:
"I knew what it'd mean to you. You and Kal and Karen too. I made sure the ring grabbed that one. I'm still figuring out which planets the other rescued cities belong on. Most of them aren't in this space sector...they're even further away than Krypton was." Hal was just thinking of his friends, really. Not too much to it. Consideration and all that.

"Keep it safe. I'm sure there's a place we can put it...though that'll take deciding too. You could put it in your original solar system, where they'd be 'normal'...or close by under a yellow sun, where they'd all be super...or even under a blue sun, which would make things even more interesting for them."

Kara Danvers has posed:
She chuckles and nods her head, "Yes, well, that is for the science council to discuss and debate and decide upon. I'm sure they will be arguing vehemently once they know that there are options." She dips her head and says, "Thank you Green Lanter." She turns and takes off at super speed to the Fortress of Solitude.
