Cast of Characters: Cain Marko, Billy Batson

Cain Marko has posed:
It's a pretty typical day in New York City. Traffic moves slowly, people shout at one another, a bank bobs down one of the major streets. Nothing too out of the ordinary. Said bank is moving around nine feet off of the ground. In its wake is a tail of deep footprints in the pavement. They're pretty big footsteps for a person, but kind of on the small side for a building. Beneath that building is a massive figure in red armor, a distinctive domed helmet on his head. He gets a lot of jokes about the helmet. He doesn't appreciate the jokes about the helmet.

It's kind of baffling that he's actually able to lift the building like that without just it breaking apart or something. As for how he manages that feat... magic, maybe? This particularly villain kind of defies logic in a number of ways. He just keeps tromping forward, occasionally up and over a car, thoroughly destroying them in his wake. It's unclear where he's bringing the building. Or why he decided to take the WHOLE bank instead of just the vault. Or the money.

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam is supposed to be on his way to the store to pick up a few things for the Perez household. Instead he's splitting the sky on his to Manhattan, lightning flashing in his wake. He breaks the sound barrier over the East River, slowing down as he gets to Manhattan and turns North. Holy Moley, how did superheroes catch anyone before the Citizen's app came out. The report was filed from a third story floor and had a bizarre photo. The caption reported a building walking away. It's only when he slips into the skies over Canal Street that he says to himself, "That's a building walking away... geez. First spontaneously combusting trees and now this!"

He decides to investigate further and heads off the building before flying under it. "Holy Moley!"

Cain Marko has posed:
The crimson clad villain had expected somebody to show up to try and stop him eventually. Somebody always does. Admitedly, it was what kept things interesting. All he sees at first is a flying blur of red coming under the bank towards him. He doesn't stop tromping forward, even when he starts speaking. "So I gotta deal with Superman today, h- wait. Who the hell are you?" He squints at Shazam through the slits in his helmet, seemingly not recognizing him. Maybe he doesn't. Maybe he's just pretending to be a jerk. Who knows. He doesn't really give him much of a chance to respond though. As the other mystically empowered metahuman draws closer, one step raises much farther than the others, and a foot somewhere around the size of a manhole cover slams into Shazam. With the bank and all, it's a bad angle for a high arcing sort of shot. So instead, enough force to rattle even somebody like him hits him at more of a downward angle, and over the next few seconds he'll find himself sliding along the ground a block or two, leaving a deep furrow in the pavement as he does. If stealing a building wasn't a good enough hint, that shot probably gives him a clue he doesn't need to hold back here.

Billy Batson has posed:
This is something new. Definitely a harder hit than he experienced as Shazam. The young hero trails lightning and huge sparks as he plows into the asphalt for a block and a half before slamming head first into a food truck. People scatter screaming. So much for New Yorkers never being surprised or impressed. Shazam gets up shakes his head to clear it and then streaks back under the bank and tries to grab the Juggernaut around the torso. It's a big torso. There is a resounding <THOOOOOM>> as he hots the crook at over a hundred miles per hour.

"It's Shazam! Not Superman!" Lightning flares as he speaks his name a little too loudly.

Cain Marko has posed:
The Juggernaut still hasn't stopped when Shazam quickly makes his way back to the moving scene of the crime. He actually speeds up when he sees him coming, meeting his flying tackle head on. The shockwave of the two of them meeting sends dust out in a circle around them. The impact itself doesn't really hurt hurt him. However, when the hero loudly proclaims his name and lightning plays around his body, he lets out an annoyed grunt. That actually stung? Dammit. Magic guy. "Hmm. You're gonna be a pain in my ass, aren't you Shazzie?" He's still moving forward. Though with how hard he was hit, and the fact he wasn't moving all that fast to begin wtih, he's slowed down some. He releases the building with one hand so he can bring his fist down on the head of the big red cheese. He doesn't hold back any, though the angle is a little awkward. "It's gonna take more than a knockoff to stop the Juggernaut!"

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam get's hurt yet again. He didn't think Juggie could hold the entire bank with one hand. the blow was powerful but awkward. It still hurts! Seeing that he can't stop the Juggernaut without a lot more effort he opts to grab the fist that hit him, smile his evil Billy smile and throws some heat at the huge jaw behind that goofy helmet. "Biggest pain in a while in all honestly!" The fist flashes at Cain Marko.

Cain Marko has posed:
That evil smile for some reason looks strange on Shazam's face to Cain. He doesn't really have time to consider it though, as he takes the blow from him with a loud grunt. Raising a few feet into the air before the weight of the building brings him down again, feet sinking deeper than ever into the pavement. "Guess I should give you my full attention then." He draws back his fist again... and slams it into the building he's holding with thunderous force, shattering the entire structure. As it falls to pieces around them, he steps closer to Shazam and begins to launch a series of punches at him. Not as hard as his other blows, but rapid fire. Peppering them towards his face, his chest, his belly. Testing his reflexes and getting a general feel for him.

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam takes a few hits as the building falls onto him. He mostly blocks with his face, surprised by the falling debris. The fists hurt worse, especially the blows to his face. Sparks are generated from the blows to his body. What can he do? This is a trained fighter and he... he goes to public school.

And he lived on the streets. He has taken beating from bigger tougher guys for a variety of reasons. The Speed of Mercury is triggered in a spate of lightning as he ducks the rest of the blows and then Shazam locks his hands with the Juggernaut's fists with a sound like twin claps of thunder that blow the debris and dust away. Hand to hand literally, Shazam's eyes blaze with the lightning as he yells, "That's the dumbest helmet I ever saw! Did you cop it from Whirlwind or Darkseid!" He doesn't wait for an answer. He slams his forehead into it with a bellow of rage. Windows around them shatter.

Cain Marko has posed:
The Juggernaut tries to pull his fists free of Shazam's grip, a little surprised by how difficult it is. It's not often that he meets people who can match him in the strength department. Or pass him by. They haven't gotten to the city-destroying level of really figuring out which of them is stronger, but it's clear they're both up there. Then he grunts loudly when Shazam... headbutts him? He's strong enough for it to actually dislodge the helmet, bits of the base left where it was attached and the rest of it flying off into the rubble. Giving him a very clear, very angry expression on his face.

"So you wanna play it like that!?! Fine!" He uses Billy's own grip on his fists to pull him towards him, stepping into it and drawing his own head back. Returning the headbutt with one of his own, putting as much of his strength as he can leverage into it. Assuming this frees his hands, he'll duck down and wrap his thick arms around the waist of the somewhat smaller muscleman. He raises up, then falls backwards, using the momentum of the fall and the arching of back to help drive him headfirst into the ground. Probably not the most elegant move he could have used there. But if it lands, it'll crater the ground a good ways around them, the shockwave shattering windows in nearby buildings. People at their level brawling is not good for city property. Luckily for the Juggernaut, he doesn't care.

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam gasps as his head hots the asphalt and he goes through it. The street collapses under both of them and they are dumped into a storm drain. It's dark and damp and the Juggernaut's arms are crushing the breath from him. 'You don't have to breathe Billy,' Atlas says. 'Don't panic! Listen, my stamina protects you but there are other mentors who will serve you better... Solomon.' The Hebrew king says, "He has a magic about him, equal to your gifts. But... your lightning distressed him. Use the Power of Zeus."

That's great. Well it's all or nothing. He isn't good for long in this hold. He summons the most powerful lightning he can. Electricity arcs through Shazam into the Juggernaut as a ripped gas line explodes! Shazam is torn free yet again, still throwing lightning at the criminal. He can feel his face swelling on one side and the bruises on his forehead. The lightning barely sparkles from his black eye. He pours it on.?

Cain Marko has posed:
As they collapse into the storm drain below, the Juggernaut gives a harder squeeze to Shazam, briefly holding him in the water. But even when they do need to breathe, super tough types tend to be able to hold their breath for a LONG time. So he considers letting him go before too long. And then suddenly the guy errupts into electricity. Normally he wouldn't care. But this seems to be magic electricity again. His muscles clench up, and he twitches as he lets him go. It takes him a few seconds to recover and clambor to his feet... and then be hit with even more. He growls as the power courses through him, actually burning his skin and making his muscles convulve. The growl raises in pitch, and he charges towards the red and white hero, a scowl on his face and anger burning in his eyes. His skin is visibly blackened in places, and it seems like he should have dropped by this point. But he doesn't. He speeds up as much as he can, which admitedly isn't much in this relatively small space. Then he slams into him. Arms wrapping around him again as he continues to build momentum. Barreling through a wall of the storm drain as though it were paper and keeping on going. Practically tunneling through the underground of the city, eventually bursting out into the basement of some building or another, only to quickly break through the opposite wall in turn. Damage Control is going to REALLY earn their pay today.

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam struggles to break the grapple and partially succeeds in a reversal. Well this is great, his best shot, the greatest amount of lightning he can summon and he made the guy angry. He needs another Shazam here. But Freddy and Mary might not even measure up. The lightning was his specialty. Wait.

There's a way to summon even greater lightning. He just might get squashed, but he's out of options. He does a palm strike to the Juggernaut's chin and as it buys him a split second he says, "SHAZAM!"

Lightning booms again!

Cain Marko has posed:
It might not look it yet, but he didn't just make the Juggernaut mad. He's hurting, in a way he hasn't in... he can't remember how long. That's what prompted this probably not the most thought out raging charge. As his wounds gradually start to heal, his mind clears some. Which doesn't last long as he takes a blow to the chin, head flying back and eyes staring up as lightning strikes. So much worse than before, and directly in the face. He roars out loudly as it jolts through him, and... is that popping sound his eyes? Gross. Good thing he's looking up. He stumbles, skidding to a halt like a train hitting the emergency brakes, slamming through several more walls slowing enough to just lightly crack one. It occurs to him that he's no longer holding the red guy. He vaguely recalls it feeling like he disappeared right after hitting him with the lightning. That or getting smaller, but that wouldn't make any sense. Breathing raggedly, he sort of collapses onto one knee. Hand on the wall as he focuses. His healing wasn't automatic like some people, and this requires a lot of concentration. The magical burns through... everywhere, honestly, are going to take a while. Especially his eyes. "G-Goddamn... bastard...." He mutters the words. But doesn't feel particularly inclinded to hunt down the departed Shazam at the moment. At the moment.

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson staggers to his feet. A few touches to his face convince him not to do that again. A blow against his throat that was unnoticed before makes his voice catch in his throat. Debris begins to fall as he spots a manhole with its cover ajar from the quakes their fight caused or one of the explosions. He wobbles as he walks towards it and climbs the ladder. Bastard he thinks. This isn't over. He had no idea injuries could carry over from his alter ego. Heavy magic or just tremendous power?

As he reaches street level and stumbles away, he pulls his phone out and begins texting Mary and Freddy, asking for a pick up from one or both of them. He isn't sure as he sits on a fireplug. In his head all six mentors are clapping.
