Date of Scene: 04 August 2020
Location: Main Room - Titan's Tower
Synopsis: Pizza is had and people talk!
Cast of Characters: Siobhan Smythe, Samuel Morgan, Rachel Roth, Kara Danvers, Dick Grayson

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
Even though others have told her that the food here is open for her to eat, she's still a guest and there are rules about that. At least as far as Siobhan is concerned. You gotta contribute and be as hospitable to those letting you stay as they are to you. So, after her gig, she stopped off to grab another stack of pizzas using a few coupons she had saved up and came back to the tower with a variety of topped pizzas. Bringing them up to the main lounge area after she found someone to escort her in, she smiles as she sets them out and smiles. She grabs the one she got for herself, cajun and cheese crust with pepperoni and she settles into a seat.

Ever since she has arrived though, there's been a change that she can feel. The Banshee has been more restless. More seeking a way out. Excited that perhaps this means that Siobhan will finally accept who she is and give in to the other side. No such luck so far but this has been as close as the Banshee has ever felt to freedom and so it has been quietly prodding at Siobhan from the back of her mind, screaming and keening at her even as she does her best to ignore it.

Samuel Morgan has posed:
Despite the time of day, there is always someone awake in the Tower. More often than not, that person will turn out to be Sam, Techno to the team, Bean to his friends. After the whole Bushwick affair, he'd hit the labs pretty hard and became even more of a recluse than before, seen even less now than during the long weeks training to take on Brainiac. But he's around, everyone knows that... because as usual, he's preceded by the German Shepherd called Bear, who bounds into the common room, makes a circle around the table with the pizzas, then makes a straight line for a couch not too far from where Siobhan is sitting and jumping straight in.

In his wake, Sam follows, his boiler suit open to the waist and the top half tied by the sleeves around his middle, revealing a short sleeved white shirt that has seen better days... are those bullet holes? The frayed sleeve just about shows the Scorpion tattoo on his right bicep. Perched on his forehead are a pair of goggles, a cross between steampunk goggles and proper lab equipment. He's walking on auto pilot, not even scanning for threats, and goes straight for the pizza, using the exact same route as Bear has just scouted out.

Rachel Roth has posed:
When Siobhan returns to the tower, there is another present. In the main room, where most of the socializing is done, there is a cruel placement of fate, a set of utilitarian dishware, each glass piece intended for a very specific purpose: To make very, very good coffee. It takes time- and clearly, when Siobhan returns, she has just finished boiling the water for the pour-over- resulting in Raven having to remain in the main room for... Socializing.

Her distaste for this is clear, as Siobhan's entrance causes her to momentarily twitch, turning slightly to, rather coolly, acknowledge the new arrival. She's felt the other woman's presence before, and as such is not as much -surprised- that she's here as she is displeased that anyone else would dare exist in the tower, a crime that she has yet to devise a proper punishment for. It only gets worse when Sam arrives, and Raven figures a larger social gathering is nigh.

Her only hope now is to fix her coffee and depart unnoticed.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Supergirl flies down through the empty elevator shaft and in to the main room, perhaps drawn in by the scent of pizza. She looks very tired though. There's a pause as she fidgets with her hair and pulls out a still smoking rock. She flicks it down the elevator shaft and then lands on her feet and walks over to slump against the kitchen counter.

"/ahbrituse khuhp/," she murmurs in Kryptonian (I'm exhausted). The cool kitchen bench top against her cheek feels pretty good though, she must admit. Her eyes half shut as she awaits the potential of pizza.

Supergirl only truly lets her guard down at the Fortress of Solitude where she knows she is safe, but Titans Tower has become a sort of go between, where she still has to only be Supergirl, but can at least show a touch of vulnerability.

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
A smile at Samuel and Bear when they arrive and she blinks at their actions. She then looks over at Raven, noticing her and seeming surprised by the silence from her, too. She then turns her gaze over to Kara when she walks in and she blinks. The words was not a language she was familiar with. However, all too quickly her abilities are grabbing and parsing the sounds, magically transforming them in her mind into a language. It isn't quite enough but it is enough for Siobhan to seize upon the only person who made any real noise.

"If ye are exhausted, pizza is good for dat." She gestures at the various boxes and nods her head before looking over at Supergirl before she looks to Raven and smiles, "You're also welcome to the pizza as well." She states in her thick Irish Brogue, "I am not familiar with, well, any of ye in here except, well, de dog."

Samuel Morgan has posed:
"His name's Bear." Sam calls from the kitchen counter, still clearly on auto pilot, assembling several plates of pizza. Bit of this, few slices of that, a pick and mix of all the flavors assembled, and one plate is slid over to Kara, while the other is carried in his left hand over to Raven. Yup. He might not be fully awake, he's still aware of everyone in the room.

Then he takes his own plate to the couch that Bear is reserving for him, the shepherd moves over to make space for his human, and both sit as if they're a symbiotic entity. One of them is likely to be given some treats for that. "Who got the pizza? It's good pizza. Thanks..." *chomp*

"I'm ... just call me Techno, longer story otherwise."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara may be being a little dramatic in her posture, thus she perks up and rises once more to standing. Her eyes fall on Raven. No, that's not a thing she needs to contemplate right now, her eyes turn to Siobhan, the stranger in the room.

"/nahvruhtivta rraop w khuhp/," she says with an expression of curiosity as she walks over to the offered pizza (You understand me?). She picks up a slice and says, "/nahnta rraop w kryptahnium/" Though her posture seems to suggest a great interest, perhaps excitement, she also exhibits a great deal of skepticism as she listens to Siobhan's heart beat, sounding not very Kryptonian to her. (Are you Kryptonian?).

Dick Grayson has posed:
Nightwing has finished up his shift on monitor duty for the day and makes his way down to the kitchen. His hope was that there would be food. He is correct. When he sees the others, he waves, admittedly feeling a tad odd in costume, but it is the way of things anymore when he is in the Tower. "So what's on the menu today," the former Robin asks as he gets close, giving a wave to those assembled.

Rachel Roth has posed:
One day, Raven will know that she was contemplated as a thing, if even for a moment. Much rueing will be done. Regardless, she goes about the process of preparing her coffee, and setting the glassware aside, as nearly-needlessly complex as it might be. She's made most of a pot, primarily, if not literally, for herself.

The two conversing in an alien language that is- for the moment- new to her catches her attention, but engaging it directly would be inviting attention. For the moment, she regards the plate offered to her by Techno. A damning invitation, it is- she hadn't had the chance to refuse, and now here it is. Obligation in molten cheese. For a moment, she glares at the pizza, as if it had committed the crime.

"Thanks." she offers, some mix between disdain and sarcasm. If you dig deep enough, you might hit the opposite side of the world, but you also might find some shred of gratitude. Her attention then flits to Nightwing, to whom she speaks.

    "It's pizza. It's -always- pizza."

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
Once more, the magic of her sound activates and it analyzes the noises Kara makes. It parses, out of just that small amount of language, the very essence of the Kryptonian tongue. It filters it through the sieve of the way sounds can be made and uses to create language till it finally fills in all the conceivable blanks. She then shakes her head.

"No, I'm not." She states simply enough in English and smiles at Kara as she replies, "/Nahvruht khuhp rriv./" Roughly translating to (I do understand). She then shrugs and smiles and loks then to Dick before she gestures to Rachel, "She said it. I brought ten different types." She takes a bite of her own, swallowing it down quickly enough and then shrugging before nodding to Techno, "Nice to meet ya." She then looks to Rachel more directly before looking at the others, "I'm Siobhan, by de way, if anyone missed the memo or haven't figured that part out."

Samuel Morgan has posed:
"'s good pizza." It's said as much in thanks as for the benefit of Nightwing, and punctuated by the vague wave of half a slice before Sam devours it. So much to do, so little time to eat. Or rest. The alien language goes right over his head, and he looks muzzily between Kara and Siobhan. "Sounds like greek to me." Except, of course, being as tired as he is, it comes out in German.

Rachel gets a nod, Sam's sarcasm detector currently not online so the teen is taking everything at face value. Not enough brain power spare to run the social etiquette app...

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara offers a high five to Nightwing as he passes. She is extremely careful not to add any momentum herself to these things these days. She's learnt. To Siobhan though her attention is captivated. "nahvruhtta?," she asks and tilts her head (how?). Her boots she tucks up under her as she settles down on a couch. Pizza goes to mouth and she mms, "bemnahvruhtu" (the understanding is very impressive..)

She stretches her arms out and then grabs another piece of pizza. "How is everybody. I'm a bit worn out. One flooding, one avalanche, one capsized boat in Indonesia... and work." She rolls her eyes, indignant at the idea that she must make time for her secret identity over helping the people of Earth.

Dick Grayson has posed:
"Pizza is acceptable," Nightwing says, he is not too old to enjoy a slice of pizza every day. He secures a few pieces for himself, but not before high fiving Kara back, "Hey, all that is fixable. Sometimes it takes a little work though, time management on that front is a pain." There's a reason he quit being a cop.

Dick gets a bottle of pop for himself and begins munching away, "Good pizza, confirmed," he nods to Sam. The former Robin then nods to Raven, "Yeah, seems to be a staple, but at least there are decent options for it, and different types of pizza, St. Louis Style, Quad Cities Style, New York Style, but not Chicago Style, that's a casserole," he laughs at that last one, "That might be a contentious bit, though. Thanks again, Siobhan!"

Rachel Roth has posed:
"You have to devote time to it." Raven interjects, spiking herself into a conversation that she wasn't entirely a part of. "It will eat at you otherwise. It is what keeps you grounded. The idea might be difficult to understand, but it is necessary. Wholly necessary."

Arguing from a place of -having- no secret identity, Raven at least does seem sincere. She even takes a moment, plucking up a slice of pizza from the plate and taking her first few bites. Other than that, she doesn't seem inclined to say all that much more.

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
A smile is given to Kara and she shrugs, "I speak any language I hear." She nods her head and shrugs, "It's just de way it is." She then turns her gaze to Samuel briefly before laughing and shaking her head. She turns her gaze back to Dick and then to Rachel before she takes a bite of her food, "So, Techno, Supergirl, Nightwing...and..." She looks to Rachel and tilts her head before she considers, "Well, I can figure out who you aren't so..." She debates, "You don't happen to be Raven, are you?" She asks and takes another bite of her pizza even as she considers the possibility. It'd make sense. She's most certainly not Starfire.

Kara Danvers has posed:
"Oh, definitely not Greek. For that we talk to Troia." She smiles to Samuel and goes for a third piece of pizza, but then stops. She's gotten in enough trouble from her adopted family for eating too much pizza at the Titans Tower already. She's not sure nutrition rules for humans really apply to her though.

"Well, at least the DEO are understanding. And so are you guys," she says and then nods to Raven, "I need to alter my thinking about it, get more out of it, contribute to the world in a different way." As far as the Titans know, Supergirl's job is with the DEO. So far, no one has figured out she's sporting a secret identity to live like a regular human. Some might assume it though, as Supergirl isn't seen shopping at the local green grocer in the news.

To Siobhan she responds, "That's an incredible skill. Can you read and write any language too, or is it only audible comprehension and speaking? ...also, who are you?" She smiles a little more to Siobhan as she correctly identifies her as Supergirl. The \S/ on her chest is probably a big give away though.

Samuel Morgan has posed:
"If the DEO complains about anything, tell them to sit down and shut up about it." Someone has a low opinion of official agencies. But Sam seems entirely sincere about it, finishing his last slice of pizza despite not looking any more awake than he did before. "What are they going to do about it? Complain at you some more?"

Something seems to be kicking a few of his brain cells together, however, and he suddenly looks over towards Nightwing. "I have a report ready for you about the Bushwick restoration incident, including a summary, trajectory and decision to fire breakdown for every bullet fired, as well as a summary of all injuries caused to intruders during the hand to hand phase, including all the decision timelines and justifications for the individual uses of force for each subject."

Dick Grayson has posed:
Dick nods as he is noted by Siobhan, then looks to Supergirl, "Yeah, hopefully they understand, big picture and all." She may know who he is, but he is not aware of her identity. "But I understand, probably best to keep them happy, they have official status and protection." He nods and then turns to Samuel, "Forward it on, then. I have strong opinions about that, but that can wait for later." His tone at this point is a bit more serious, but the elder Titan resumes eating and taking a swig from the bottle.

Rachel Roth has posed:
Raven acknowledges Supergirl's understanding with a nod in silence, before her attention turns to Siobhan. Idly, she takes another bite of pizza, and then once she's finished, she offers this calm, slow nod.

"Yes." she responds, calmly, and with little to no emotion in her voice- this unsettling and complete neutrality settling over her, as if she'd always been that way.

    "I am Raven."

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
A chuckle to Supergirl and she nods to her, "As I said, I'm Siobhan and no, I can only speak it and understand it. It's sound based." She nods again before she parses what was said and then she blinks, "Pardon me for askin' but what is the DEO?" She looks at Supergirl and then over at Techno. She seems unsure as she hears that and then she turns her gaze to Dick and then she considers, "Oh, dis all about the return of Mutant Town." She nods her head, "Right?" She then snaps her attention back to Raven.

She considers the woman, her neutral nature and looks her over. She considers her for a long moment and then hmms, "So, you're de one Caitlin was talkin' about when it comes to the Banshee."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara chuckles, "The DEO have perfectly reasonable reasons to care about these minuscia of rules. Any time an unidentified flying object is flying super fast across the airspace, there's a scramble alert right to the military and airforce and then the DEO has to chime in and let them all know it's fine, it's just me. More than once I've been met by a jet that has been scrambled. Though, once they see me, they all calm down and if I need to sound all official like, I can tell them I'm with the DEO, or if they're more a fan of superheroes, the Titans."

There's another small shrug of her shoulders and she asks Siobhan, "Are you just visiting us or are you being recruited?" She doesn't even pry as to what her deal is - she knows languages apparently and is here, and therefore is probably an awesome person. That's her mental reasoning. Though, she tends to think the best of everyone until they prove otherwise. "The DEO is the Department of Extranormal Operations. We deal with the criminal activities of aliens and superpowered individals of a wide variety.. inhuman, mutant, metahuman, gosh, so many words for people with extranormal abilities."

Samuel Morgan has posed:
"Aye sir, you'll have a copy within the hour." And so Sam stands, having finished a full plate of pizza (with some sly help from Bear), deciding that getting into an argument about an agency dedicated to controlling anyone that isn't baseline homo sapiens isn't worth it at the moment, and trudges off to put the plate in the sink. "Right. Back to the lab. If there's an emergency, you know where to find me."

Dick Grayson has posed:
Dick raises a brow at the "Sir" but says nothing else when he looks to Kara and nods, "Yeah, I get that. Makes a lot of sense and quite frankly it helps out a lot more than people realize." He takes a drink, "Fortunately I hope a lot are false alarms or easily resolved?"

The topic of Banshee also catches his attention, "Yeah, Raven is probably one of the best to talk to regarding that."

Rachel Roth has posed:
Raven decidedly avoids the conversation about the DEO. Instead, she regards Siobhan quietly, plucking up her coffee to take a thoughtful sip. Idly, her thoughts drift to Caitlin, and the retribution she will deliver for sending anyone to speak to her about anything, but despite this graven error, Raven speaks after a time.

"Yes. As Caitling and Nightwing have said on my behalf, if you need any assistance in handling the spirit, it is probable that I could assist. It is a... Mercurial being, and not one to take lightly."

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
Kara's explanation has Siobhan nodding and she lets out an 'Ah' in response before smiling at her, "As for visiting or being recruited, I don't know." She states simply enough, "STill figurin' some tings out." She then watches Samuel and Dick interact before nodding to Dick in response to his recommendation. She hears Raven speak before saying, "You speak as if you already know a thing or two about it." She states simply enough and then she shifts slightly, "So, you suspect we are seperate beings." She nods her head and thinks on that a moment before she lets out a sigh and shakes her head, "Not entirely sure after what happened with ma but maybe I will speak to ya about it more later."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara hops up from the couch and smiles, "I can tell you two seem to have something important to talk about, so don't let me get in the way. I do need to get back to.. other things anyway. Also, I need to talk to my cousin again." She folds her arms and hmms, "Actually the rest of my day is probably more full than I realised. I should really get going!"

She steps away from the couches and waves to Raven and then nods to Siobhan, "Lovely to meet you." To Raven she smiles, "See you around." You can't uncheer a Kryptonian with grumpy stares alone.

Dick Grayson has posed:
"I know little, but what you said before," Dick says to Siobhan, "And if it is metaphysical, Raven would be my first person to send people to," he nods, "But hopefully you can find more answers." He finishes up his pizza and pop, "But I had best get going, long way home to take care of business." He can't exactly take the Hyperloop home. "But you all have a good one!" With that, he exits, giving Siobhan, Raven, and Kara nods as he departs.
