Date of Scene: 04 March 2020
Location: Joe's Restaurant and Cafe
Synopsis: A few super-teens meet in a diner
Cast of Characters: Xiomara Rojas, Leonid Kovar, Morgan le Fay

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
It's a relatively early morning- almost 9 in the morning on a lovely Wednesday. It's chilly outside, mid-40s. Windy, bringing the chill down.

It makes the warm interior of Joe's Restaurant all the more welcoming- as if it wasn't welcoming enough with the scents of breakfast foods, coffees, and baking pies.

Among the patrons at Joe's this morning is one Xiomara Rojas- better known as Crush. She's got a breakfast coming as she sits at the counter, a carafe of coffee sitting near her by request.

Crush cuts an interesting figure- dressed in pink leather pants, her tummy on display despite the chill. Her coffee is black, sipping quietly as she just looks out the windows to the relatively peaceful streets of Happy Harbor.

Leonid Kovar has posed:
Leonid Kovar doesn't seem to feel much cold either, stepping in wearing jeans and a snug t-shirt stretched over his massive, muscular frame. He makes his way up to the counter as well, straddling a stool and taking a seat. He rests his elbows atop the counter as the waitress comes to attend him.

"Coffee, please, and a cinnamon roll," he says. His Russian accent is hard to miss, pronounced as it is. He's a recent emigrant, after all.

He turns and glances over at Crush, raising an eyebrow at her garb and appearance and, in the process, giving a glimpse of the crimson glow of his eyes. "Hello to you," he says.

Morgan le Fay has posed:
Morgana's here, too. Robes on, fuzzy hat on, gloves, and her familiar, an all black kitten in her lap purring. She's using Joe's as as abase for her studies. It's March. She graduates in June. See, she's studying hard for her upcoming exams, and picked here beccause it's less hassl than school. She'll take the detention, it's worth it to study in peace, so with a clacking of keys, Morgan peers up over the top of her laptop screen...Morgana's got coffee and enough toast to satisfy a table of friends, though it's just Morgana and Merlin, the kitten. The black kitten stretches and climbs up on the warm laptop keyboard, curling up. Morgana's saved her file she was working on, thankfully. Moving her hand to get coffee, she gets a cat face driven into it.

She looks over to the others. "Hey" she calls over.

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
Crush's gaze turns towards Leonid first, nose twitching a bit as she looks at the young man for a long moment. Her own eyes are red as blood. Those eyes turn again towards Morgan when she speaks- "Sup." she offers with a raise of her chin to both individuals. "Ain't you two s'pose to be in school or some shit?" she wonders, pouring herself more coffee and drinking deeply of her bottomless black coffee.

"What you studyin?" Crush wonders of the two. "Math and shit?" she's wonders out-loud as her breakfast arrives. It's a large plate of breakfast food- pancakes, bacon, eggs, toast, hash browns... a truly enormous breakfast.

Leonid Kovar has posed:
Leonid Kovar nods, "Da, it is schooltime, but I am on independent study as part of my curriculum. Part of my exchange program," he says. "I got a pass to leave, it is fine. You do not look like the usual truancy officer anyway," he says.

He nods to Morgan and takes a sip from his coffee as it arrives, black and unsweetened. "I have already studied most of the subjects covered in the curriculum. My schooling back in Russia was very comprehensive," he says. He nods to Crush's breakfast, "Do you require excess calories due to your metabolism or are you simply voracious?" he says.

Morgan le Fay has posed:
Morgana listens, watching them both. "No I'm studying history" Morgana corrects. "Math is boring either way, this is my free period, from ine till ten, so I got time to study whatever I'm needing to catch up on. Or, I would. But I got a cat on my laptop" she says with a smile, reaching for more toast and butter.
tching both of them, she watches Crush's breakfast and looks genuinely impressed. Then she turns her attention to Leonid.

"So, you've already studied?" she asks. "Then you may find the studies easier" she offers, looking over to both of them. "So who are you two?" she adds, shifting cat to lap, and closing and shutting off laptop.

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
"So, I guess manners weren't part of that curriculum." Crush replies over to Leonid, "Ain't none of your business how much I eat." Crush says simply. Judging by the fact she's still pretty thin one could assume that eating like this is either a rare treat, or just doesn't negatively impact her figure.

"I go by Crush." The punkish teen states- she's the youngest looking of the three teens in the restaurant. She begins to eat, enjoying a hot meal- she doesn't always get to enjoy such meals. Coffee and breakfast foods are just a fantastic way to spend a wednesday morning.

Leonid Kovar has posed:
Leonid Kovar frowns, "You could order your food in a staggered fashion to eat each portion at its greatest freshness. THat you order all at once shows an intentional display for attention, as does your colorful garb. If you do not wish to draw such attention, I would suggest subtlety, but that does not seem to be your strong suit, 'Crush'."

"I am Leonid Kovar," he answers Morgana. "Yes, the classes here do seem to be fairly easy. But I enjoy the more relaxed attitude. I formerly attended a military academy. The standards were harsh. Here things are much...softer."

Morgan le Fay has posed:
Morgana has her toast on her laptop lid, listening. "Well" she says simply. "If she wants to eat that much, and she can afford it" Morgana nods, "Who are we to judge?"

Winning people over is good. The evil, manipulating comes later then. Morgana gets up and orders more toast from the counter with a smile. Watching them all still, Morgana is debating what to put on toast, too. She's paying, she's behaving, and not getting into trouble. So...

Morgana glances to Leonid on her way back to her seat, again and settles back into it agaianagain. "So" Morgana nods looking to Leonid then Crush. "You curious what I was studying?" Morgana asks with a curious glint in her eyes, then she flicks them back to Leonid. "Well, it's differennt here"

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
Crush turns her red gaze towards Leonid. "You sure you wanna walk down that path, buddy?" she wonders, as she stares at Leonid now. "Because I'd be glad to see if you can cash them checks yer mouth is writin'." she offers with a sneer- displaying pointed canines. She leans close to Leonid- still staring into his eyes. "I suspect you ain't able to cash them checks though, Russki." The anger creeping into the younger teen's voice is obvious. She's ready to throw down right here, right now- and that's made all the more obvious by how quickly she's gotten right up into the other teen's face- there is a total lack of fear here.

Crush's anger is barely restrained as she stares at Leonid- "I'm eatin' in peace here, you best keep your mouth shut and your opinion to yerself, Ruski. I'll be happy to break that jaw and make it so you can't talk the rest of the year. Be a good reminder not to go shooting your dumb mouth off to strangers."

She then sits back into her seat, and eats some of her bacon. She nods over to Morgana, "Yeah, exactly. Ain't no-one's business but mine."

Leonid Kovar has posed:
Leonid Kovar doesn't seem intimidated by Crush. He holds his place calmly, remaining in his seat as she attempts to intimidate him. "Brawling in a cafe would do no good for me. I apologize. I did not realize you were so sensitive. I will do my best not to hurt your feelings again," he says in a level tone.

Discipline has been drilled into him enough that he isn't so easily riled. He has no quarrel with Crush and he won't be baited by her aggression.

He takes a large bite of his cinnamon roll and, for the moment, resumes his own thoughts.

Morgan le Fay has posed:
Morgana....much as she'd like to see a fight to satisfy her own goals and plans, doesn't want to get dragged into one. Yet, so she sits back eating toast, and watches them. "So it's two students in here. What about you?" she asks Crush, while silently hoping Leonid keeps to his word. She'd rather not explain to anyone in authority why she's here, and have to spend time giving statements. Yay for being a senior and responsibilities...

Sipping her own coffee, Morgana lets the hood of her robes fall revealing her face, and she sweeps her black hair into a ponytail. Something modern she actually can stand for long periods of time. Classes get a nod from her since they are only a fixed amount of time. But she is still homesick. Despite all her deaths and resurrections, Morgana still wants to go home, to her castle, and roam England. Maybe, maybe after graduation? Huh, good idea, go to England, see how things are in the new century.

She gives Crush a warning look. "Don't start any trouble" she says. One, she's two years older. Two, she's practically the same height and better muscled, but Morgana's been to enough ren faires in her seventeen years in this life....to know how to fight. Sure, it's with a sword or in this case, cutlery, but...she knows how to fight.

And she's got magic as a last resort. "Just...you want to pick fights.Do it in abandoned alleys" Morgana offers. Such a good role model. "I mean, or, get somebody else to do your dirty work"
Sheomething Morgana's good at *cough*mordred*cough*

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
Crush's eye almost seems to twitch. She's already riled up- Leonid is not helping it any. "I am TRYING to eat!" she shouts at him, "Get the hell outta here with your bullshit, arrogant attitude before I make you eat your teeth!" she shouts. Leonid may not be intimidated- but if he actually knew the hive of bees he was poking he might not be so quick to press her buttons.

"I ain't startin' shit! Just finishin' it." Crush states simply, as she turns back to her meal. She pulls out a wad of bills from her pocket- it must be at least a thousand dollars. She tosses fifty on the counter, "Lemme get this to go. I'mma get outta here before I send someone to the hospital."

Leonid Kovar has posed:
Leonid Kovar just continues to eat his roll and seems to have tuned out Crush. Or, at least, gives the best appearance of it. He might have left to avoid the conflict, but since she seems to be leaving instead, he sees no need to rush himself.

"This is good," he says to the waitress, holding up the remainder of his cinnamon roll.

Morgan le Fay has posed:
Yeesh, Morgan's talking to a hothead. Great. And said hothead is her height and wanting to beat down Leonid. Thanks a lot, now Morgan has a dilemma. Does she go all in on protecting the school? Or further her plans? After all, HHHS is a means to an end with her. Nah, Leonid's oblivious. Fine, she'll stay outta this. Well, mostly. She gives Crush a conspiratory look, and just sits back, head down. If a fight does break out, she was studying. Admittedly. Starting the fight and running away? Bitch move. But that'd be a good thing if she wants to get those two throwing punches. Still, though, Morgana isn't going to just walk up and punch Crush. That's asking to be turned into paste. Nope. One resurrection this century's enough for her.

So she's weighing her options, deliberately not getting involved pulling a book out of her robe and reading it. She's also looking from Crush to Leonid. Her body language is just trying to give Crush a reason to throw the first punch. Then Morgan can, legit, claim she's not involved. Ah, to be manipulative. Whether Crush buys it, that's a whole other matter. And...then the HHHS truancy officer comes in. Morgan gets to her feet. "Free period" she explains. "I'm finishing breakfast. Those two though" she says, looking out for any speeding buses. Morgana though nods as the truancy officer gives a disappointed look to Leonid and Crush. "You're supposed to be in school" he says, as Morgan takes the rap. "I said they could join me. Want to blame anyone, it's my faultt" she says putting her metaphorical hands up...and still throws them both metaphorically. "See. Janine said it was fine, and she's never wrong. So I assumed it'd be okay. I'm just doing what I'm told. janine must have made up these two got a free period" she says. Half truth. Janine's totally going to get Morgan back for this. But ask merlin how well those who cross Morgan le Fey end up. Spoiler. Not pretty. Still though, Morgana looks to Leonid and Crush with a look that says something to the effect of I just got you out of trouble. Thank me later^R
You are?" th etruancy officer asks Crush. Morgana's not going to stop him. Morgana genuinely thinks she's a student. "She's a student I think, she's what...16 by the looks of it" Morgana offers. That's not pullling the bus over Crush. That's offering her opinion. "Name?" the truancy officer asks Crush. "If you're skipping classes you're going to be in trouble, both of you. Even if Miss Lefey says it's okay."

"So, no detention?" Morgana asks hopefully. "No" the truancy officer says. "I'll let you off with a warning" he says to Morgana's relieved look. "Well, can you tell the dean from me if we get good places to eat besides the cafeteria, I wouldn't have to leave campus" Morgana says. True, that. Joe just needs to open up a cafe on HHHS grounds. Morgana would never leave there, that's the problem

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
Crush's food is packed up quickly enough, and she takes the bag. She downs the rest of her coffee before taking the bag. She just leaves the 50 on the counter as she heads outside.

The truancy officer is just stared at. "None of your damn business. I ain't no student here." she states simply, as she pushes past the officer as if they were nothing to her.

Once outside, it's clear she's still quite upset- grumbling to herself as she holds the bag of breakfast in one hand. She's mumbling to herself as she continues on her way, taking one or two steps before it's almost like she's taking off.

That is indeed a mighty leap- it leaves the ground around from where she lifted off cracked and bent- and Crush disappearing into the distance as she heads back to her home .
