Synopsis: Sanjeev has his interview at Happy Harbor and finds some important things out.
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Sanjeev Bassi

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
End of the day at Happy Harbor is generally the best time to schedule meetings with Morrigan. And she'd probably be in her office till god knows when anyways. Her assistant is helpful and punctual with escorting Mister Bassi through the halls and pointing out certain things. Then he leads him to a door that's open, knocking on it politely, "Morrigan, your meeting." he states. Then he leaves Sanjeev at the door.

Morrigan looks up, her bright eyes locking onto the pair, "Thank you, Duncan." she dips her head to that. Then she's rising, "Come in and have a seat. Can I get you something to drink?" she asks him with a smile.

Sanjeev Bassi has posed:
Inclining his head slightly to signify his respect in a somewhat Eastern fashion, dark locks of hair fell forward over the handsome Indian man's forehead. "No, but thank you, Dr. MacIntyre," he replied with an easy, charming smile. "I already took advantage of the offer from your assistant earlier." As he straightened, the wrinkles in the white collared shirt he wore underneath his deep navy suit jacket smoothed over his chest, the simple dark tie and golden tie pin catching the light above them. With the quality of the material and the Italian leather shoes he wore, it was quite evident that the young man came from some level of wealth. Such to be expected from someone of the Bassi family considering how much his father tended to rub shoulders with high society.

"Thank you for the kind offer," he continued as he stepped inside, his manners impeccable as he waited for her to seat herself before he took his own, unbuttoning his suit jacket and setting his leather satchel at his side. "If I am to understand my father correctly, you are in need of a lecturer at this campus?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
The Irishwoman dips her head to that, "No problem then." she tells him as she settles back down into her seat. Morrigan's office is spacious and the curtains are open, but her desk doesn't fall into any of the sunshine that streams in through the window. She gives a smile, "Aye, we are in need of a lecturer that is willing to be discrete about their position to others and to help guide our students in the right path educationally. While of course teaching them how to live past high school and into college if they wish to go." she admits.

"The spot would pay handsomely and we'd be providing the materials that you would need for your lectures and labs if you would like to run any." she offers.

Sanjeev Bassi has posed:
Sitting after the Principal seated herself, Sanjeev sat in the chair with straight-backed poise, folding his hands on the desk between them as he listened to her proposal. Staying silent for a few moments in thought, he considered her words carefully.

"Can you describe what you mean by 'discretion about their position,' Dr. MacIntyre?" he inquired, green-flecked chestnut-hued eyes meeting her gaze evenly. "This position is for a high school guest lecturer, as far as I was made aware, correct? I did not think I was going to be doing any research here that would require something akin to signing an NDA. Is there something of which I should be aware?"

Pausing for a moment, a small smile spread across his face. "And while I of course do not mind at all helping to guide students, I will likely not be able to stay long enough in Happy Harbor on a weekly basis to be a regular teacher on a daily basis," he said, reaching down beside him to open his satchel to withdraw a sheaf of papers that provided a synopsis on his work and slid it gently across the table toward her. "I do have my own research lab to attend to in New York. However, not all of it requires me to be there, so splitting my time between my lab and doing general lab work at the facility available here should be easy enough to manage, if that is amenable to you."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to him and there's a soft nod, "When I say discretion I mean you do not tell people that you work here even as a guest lecturer if you decide to do that. If you did take the position and you shared the information on what we really are, that is grounds for termination from the position and you will asked not to return to the campus." the violet eyed woman states in a calm tone. "This is not a school for regular human children, though we have a few in the classes. We are a school that is trying to aid metas in their lives. Teaching them how to live as humans while making sure that they are getting their school work and things done." she offers to him. "But no, there is most assuredly a NDA involved." she chuckles.

"And if you just make a guest appearance to sit in on a class or the like, that's absolutely fine. But to the public we are just another private high school that's really really hard to get into." she admits. "And I don't want to get in the way of anyone elses research, so if you split time or just visit once a month we'd be fine with that really." she tells him as she looks at the papers he slid her way, reading what's on the page.

Sanjeev Bassi has posed:
The pages in front of Morrigan detail an overview of Sanjeev and his research: the principles behind the idea of dimensional theory and the fabric between realities, many of the research awards won, the grants gained in funding the research. All-in-all, despite being the age one would expect an Undergraduate, the young man before her was one of the foremost experts in dimensional theory. Looking at the dates in the margin from each of the breakthroughs made, the pace of his research seemed almost breakneck compared to the pace of regular research.

The index finger that had been rubbing his other while his hands were folded stopped short when he heard the Principal's admission. "This is a campus...that has metahuman children...?" his words trailed off as his eyes rose to meet Morrigan's once again. The future superheroes or supervillains of tomorrow, though hopefully more of the former than the latter. Then, that girl who he had stopped from punching a hall monitor yesterday could have been one of them? Maybe even set him on fire if she wanted to. Taking a moment to pause, he continued.

"I won't lie and say that it doesn't make be at least slightly uncomfortable or give me pause, Dr. MacIntyre," Sanjeev said, unfolding his hands to use a thumb and index finger to rub where the bridge of his nose met his forehead. "The potential for bodily harm is rather...high. And I don't expect medical insurance covers accidental bodily harm caused by metahumans in the potential contract I would be signing." The right corner of his mouth quirked upward into a charmingly crooked smile at his quip.

"I suppose this is one of those things you didn't tell my father about when you were discussing me teaching here," he continued, his crooked smile spreading into a grin. Dr. Vijay Bassi hated superheroes in all shapes and forms. His son teaching at a school for metahumans? "I have to say, pretty ballsy, Dr. MacIntyre. Though, luckily, I don't share my father's personal preferences in that regard. So, it shouldn't be a problem."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan slides the papers back over to Sanjeev, it wasn't her area of expertise. But she appreciated it. "Yes, this is a school for metahumans and others. We couldn't really advertise that in the end." she tells him. "SHIELD and others fund this program." she tells him. She waits on him though. "I know it's a lot to take in." she tells him. "I was the same way when SHIELD approached me about it." she chuckles to that. "If you don't think that it is something that you want to do, then no one is going to be upset really." she admits to that. "It is not an environment that is stable at all times. Sometimes powers might be accidentally used. It's not sunshine and rainbows all the time." she nods to that.

"I did not really speak that much with Doctor Vijay given his dislike for metas and other things." she shakes her head. "You're very smart and you've got a good head on your shoulders. I'd like to show the children that all humans don't want to see them dead and buried and are willing to work with them as they grow." she admits.

Then she blows out a breath, "I apologize, I can be very intense when trying to get through interviews. We've had a few bumpy days this week." she shakes her head. "There was someone who was going to punch a hall monitor?" she asks him.

Sanjeev Bassi has posed:
"So, it's not only a SHIELD-funded initiative, it's one that SHIELD actually initiated themselves," the young Indian man mused aloud with eyebrows raised. "I wonder if that means I could convince them to toss some funds toward my research," he recovered quickly with a joke and charming smile. But, still, SHIELD being mixed up into all this made it quite a sticky circumstance. Sanjeev wanted to be incognito as much as possible to test his own abilities before someone like SHIELD came along and decided that he was a threat that needed to be in a box of some kind for his own safety. Was this wise to try to thread the needle so close to an organization like this? If he rejected the job offer that was being done as a favor to Dr. MacIntyre by his family, his father would expect a damned good reason. If Sanjeev spilled the beans about what kind of place this was, he knew that it would spread to Allegra's father and to the Pro-Humanists from there. It wouldn't end well at all. If he had any sense of morals, his hands were tied. The decision was made for him. His chestnut-colored eyes analyzed the Principal across the desk from him. Had she known? Calculated this? It was entirely possible she was this shrewd if she was an associate of his father's.

Regardless, his current situation would not change.

"Well then, I would love to join your staff then, Dr. MacIntyre," he stated with a warm smile. "Probably one of the easiest decisions I've had to make today." Well, that wasn't a lie. He stretched his hand across the table for her to shake and seal the deal.

"And as for that incident, I didn't get that student's name," he replied, his eyes glancing off to the side for a moment as he tried to recollect the person in question. "Rather tall girl, over six feet, I believe? Black hair, green eyes."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"I'm sure SHIELD or maybe Mister Stark might be the people to talk to for research funding." Morrigan nods to that. She relaxes a bit, taking a drink from her water bottle. Morrigan wasn't aware of any favors, but, maybe that's what Vijay told his son. She watches him quietly. Not rushing him. "If you need some time to take and to think on it, please let me know." she offers with a smile.

"I know that sometimes being under scrutiny from some of the more higher groups in the world can be overwhelming. I know I'm still getting used to things." she tells him. Then he makes a decision and she extends her hand, taking his to give a firm shake. "Well, if you change your mind after you leave and need to decline, we'll understand that as well." she tells him.

Then she makes a note of the person, "I'll see about checking in on things. I'm sure it might have been an isolated incident, but, we don't tolerate violence here." she admits.
