Cast of Characters: Xiomara Rojas, M'gann M'orzz

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
At nearly 9pm in the evening Big Belly Burger has mostly cleared out of younger people and students, but still maintains enough clients to remain open. Among those clients is one Xiomara 'Crush' Rojas. She's currently waiting in line for her turn to order as she counts out cash and looks up at the menu trying to decide exactly what she wants to eat this evening.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
Megan Morse doesn't need quite as much sleep as most high school students, so later at night was the perfect time for her to continue investigating Earth food. As such, she'd acquired herself an order of loaded fries and a chocolate milkshake, and was alternating bites of cheesey starchy meaty goodness with chocolate.

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
Once at the counter, Crush begins to order for herself. "Yeah, gimme the big belly burger, extra cheese, extra sauce, and bacon. Chocolate milk shake. Loaded fries." she says, before paying. A server would bring her the meal when it was ready- so she turns towards the dining room and notices Megan.

"Hey." Crush offers as she approaches the other teen. "I'm Crush. Sup?" she asks. "You mind if I join you?"

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
Megan's eyes flick up for a moment, before the redhead does a bit of a double take. "I ah... Go ahead! I'm Megan, Just started going to school here." Mmmmm this is so amazing. Seriously, the food on Mars was nothing like this. SHe'd seen the commercials, and it tasted better than it looked.

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
Crush slides in the seat across from Megan, nodding quietly. "Cool." the Czarnian offers, just nodding again. "So, you from around here?" she asks, as her food is brought- fast food, after all. She starts with a sip of the milkshake, and grabs a fork to work at the cheesey mess of fries and deliciousness. "What grade you in?" she wonders next.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
"No, not from anywhere around here. I'm living with my uncle now, he teaches Psychology here. Pretty sure the placement tests said I'm a Junior, my other school was /really/ different. They weren't sure what exactly carried over." Nomf. More deliciousness. "How does just grease and salt make things taste so /good/?"

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
Crush shrugs, "I dunno. Probably somethin' about chemistry or somethin'." she replies to Megan's question- she's not an over-educated girl. "Smells good, though." she says as she continues to eat, careful not to speak with her mouth full. She's got SOME manners, at least. "So yer Uncle is from around here, then?" she wonders next, "Where's he teach psychology?" she's making no assumptions, clearly.

She's also clearly interested in the cute be-freckled red head, although she's certainly not jumping up to show it. Gotta stay cool, Crush. Stay cool.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
"Happy Harbor High. I mean, I'm technically living in the dorms because his place doesn't have a second bedroom, but I can still hang out there when I want." Megan is doing her best to suppress her insider info on Crush's emotional state, and coninues to glance between Crush, her food, and the window. "A lot fewer stars here, though. When I saw the sky growing up, there were so many... My mom said it was because there weren't a lot of lights nearby."

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
"Yeah, you gotta go out into the wilds a bit to see good stars. There are some places that aren't so far from here, up in the mountains. Even where I stay there's better stars- it's not as good as like the places in the mountains, though." she shrugs, "You like the stars?" she wonders then. Pausing quietly.

She's certainly feeling something- is it longing? Confusion? A mix? "Sometimes I feel like I should be up there." she admits then, quiet. Most people wouldn't know it- but it is, in fact, a particularly personal admission.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
"The shirt didn't give it away?" Megan grins, nodding down towards her top which bears a NASA Logo. "Always been a big fan of it. Space, other planets, wanting to know what's up there... Maybe I'll get to be an astronaut one day. You might too." She gestures towards the window with a fry again. "I want to know what it feels like to walk on the moon, you know?"

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
"That be pretty cool. Walking on the moon." Crush replies. "I can't imagine bein' up there, though. Like. It's just so big, you know, and we're not." Crush looks out the window towards the sky- she knows who's up there. Someone that fills her with disgust.

And relief that he's not here on Earth. Who ever it is not only disgusts Crush- but terrifies her. One gets the sense there's very little that truly frightens this girl. Her confidence is fantastic.

Only once enough time has passed does Crush look down to Megan's shirt. It DOES say NASA. Crush just looks on for a long moment, before she turns away and takes a very long sip from her milkshake as she focuses on eating instead of NASA. Only the very slightest pink coming to the top of the girl's ears as she continues to try and play it cool.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
Megan can't help but pick up on the palpable fear and disgust radiating off Crush, smile fading a bit into a concerned look. This is in return dealt with by continued application of delicious food. What follows, though... That has her blushing a bit too and staring a little intently out the window. "I... You never told me your name."

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
"Uh. Most people..." Crush begins, looking over to Megan, "Xiomara." she then answers, after a moment's reflection. "Most people call me Crush, though." she finally finishes that first sentence.

She's not sure why she told Megan her real name. She doesn't usually do that.

"Uh, so I guess like astronomy is your favorite subject?" Xiomara wonders next, continuing her devouring of delicious cheesy fries. That's it- fill the embarrassment away.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
"Xiomara." Megan gets the pronunciation right, first try. "That's a really cool name." Oh hey, the smile's back. "And yeah, Astronomy's pretty up there, but I like science in general really. I like to know how things work." The redhead's own meal which was decently sizeable, is about half gone. Clearly, somebody was hungry.

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
Xiomara just nods quietly, "Yeah. That's it." It's a lovely name- and not particular common one at that. "Thanks. I like it." she notes, the thoughts of her name running back to her parents- perhaps her foster parents. It's a bittersweet memory- one that ends in tears. In sadness. In murder. A flash of powerful memory and emotion- of grief. Of seeing her own parents dead. The strong scents of burning trailer home and blood. An intrusive thought that just forced it's way into Xiomara's head.

She just looks out the window for a moment longer. "I should get going." she says quietly- suddenly not in the mood for company.

"Hey, I'll see you around, okay?" Xiomara wonders of Megan, as she starts to bring her meal towards the counter to get these things wrapped up.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
Something that powerful, that intense... Megan can't help but get a flash of things too. She blinks rapidly, shrinking a little in her side of the booth. "I... Okay. I'm sorry. For whatever I did." She doesn't want to pry into painful subjects, but... "I hope I do. You're fun to talk to." She watches her potential new friend leave, and the next bite of food doesn't taste quite as good.

Xiomara Rojas has posed:
Xiomara blinks, "You didn't do anything." she says simply, "I just.. need to go somewhere. Got an appointment." she explains, not wanting Megan to feel bad- but sometimes intense thoughts require someone to just... have space. That's what Xiomara needs at this exact moment- because she doesn't have anyone to share her grief with.

She's got the food wrapped up, and she spares a smile over to Megan- "Really, you didn't do anything." she assures the other young woman before she's off- walking into the night.
