Going Forward
Date of Scene: 18 August 2020
Location: Hammer Bay
Synopsis: Various X-men stop by with supplies and have a conversation.
Cast of Characters: Lorna Dane, Logan Howlett, Remy LeBeau, Laura Kinney

Lorna Dane has posed:
It had been a hard few days in Genosha since Magneto had taken off with the supplies and the refugee camp that had been built up over the last few months. Hammer Bay had been reduced to scraps and ruins once more, without a sign of habitation beyond the milling about of thousands of mutants and humans. But heroes had arrived and had done everything they could to help support the struggling country. Allies made emergency supply runs and offered aid.

Along with the return of those trapped within the bottles came the return of a great many mutant powers, which allowed a hastily erected form of shelter to be handled with direction from the X-men.

Lorna for her part spent most of her time handling the paperwork, or in shaping supplies out of metal scrap. Utensils, tables, chairs, bed frames, boxes and crates, plates and cups, pots and pans. All of it had to be made or brought to the island once more. Luckily the nation's main export previously was steel, and the land held a high concentration of the raw materials necessary. She stood in the shade of one of the earthen shelters, massive and cool in the tropical heat. She shaped a pile of scrap metal into whatever the refugees in line asked for. The line moving quickly as she worked.

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan doesn't visit Genosha. The Wolverine does. He's been keeping a regular schedule of a couple of days on and a couple of days off assisting with relief efforts. He offers nothing strategic just applies a little tough love where appropriate. He keeps supplies moving smoothly, and he scares the living daylights of anyone who tries to poach rations. The scary Canadian is pretty good at keeping people in line, and he's an absolute workhorse.

He walks along the side of the refugee line carrying a crate full of more scrap material over a shoulder. Setting it down beside Lorna, he gazes across the queue. He side-eyes Lorna for a moment, much of his expression concealed by his mask. He starts to walk away than grits his teeth. He grunts and turns toward her, "I'm sorry."

After a brief pause, he'll explain further. "I was an asshole when you returned. I know what I said was true, but... Considerin' what you'd just been through, probably could of shown a little more.. uh.. tact."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna's arms outstretched before her as more metal scrap floated into the air in front of her, a look of concentration and the metal broke its form, turning liquid like under her powers and reshaping to form several pieces of utensils. It joined a box also made of metal at her feet, and a woman that had stood in front of her picked it up with a murmured thank you before she departed. A glance as spared toward Logan as he approached, and she took another handful of metal scrap to shape it. As he spoke she shrugged once.

"I shouldn't have broken down like I did. People need me to be present minded and focused right now. The fate of everything depends on what I decide to do. We'd planned for this in a way. It shouldn't have take me off guard as badly as it did." She pursed her lips together.

"You don't need to apologize."

Logan Howlett has posed:
"I'm apologizin' to my friend. Not the queen. Funny thing about breakdowns, they aren't exactly planned things." He murmurs then crosses his arms over his chest, leaning against a wall shaped from earth and rock.

"You've got a tough lot, Lorna. A little compassion doesn't hurt." He grunts and then scans their surroundings. "About as bed as I expected, but then again, I'm kind of famous for my skepticism.. and I'm often wrong. Wish I had been."

"Seems like you've got things as under control as one could expect. I mean.. your.. uh.. -diplomacy-.. with Atlantis was perfectly timed. Probably saved lives there. Though gotta admit, never pegged Namor in your future. Guess the world isn't exactly full of royalty anymore." He scratches the side of his nose.

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna's expression warmed with a smile as Logan spoke of apologizing to her as a friend rather than a Queen, and she shook her head slightly as she continued to work. Another shaping of metal, a pot and a pan, and another Genoshan went on their way. She continued to work, stretching metal and shaping it with ease as she tried to rebuild a part of the world for what felt like the millionth time. "I never thought he'd move against us here.. I thought if he went bad.. he'd ... he'd go straight to attacking human nations." She grimaced then and sighed heavily.

"I wasn't prepared for him to threaten me. To..." She pursed her lips and shook her head. "I'd just kept this imagine in my head.. of the man that sat by a fire and had tea with me. That played chess and told me stories. That trained me in my powers.." She exhaled a breath, and turned her gaze back to Logan, her eyebrows furrowed.

"I wanted that back. And now it's gone. Possibly forever. And I'm back to square one.." She murmured, turning away from the refugees as she spoke. She paused, reaching for a canteen of water that she'd made herself not too long ago.

As she took a sip, she colored as Logan commented on her relations with Namor. "I made an alliance first for Genosha's protection, after the Magistrates attacked us by the sea. Nothing different than my treaties with Latveria and Wakanda. But..." She shrugged, and a blush remained on her cheeks.

"He's gunning for me to agree to be a protectorate of his Empire. I haven't agreed to it. Obviously. It comes with problems."

Logan Howlett has posed:
"What we want and what reality offers have a way of clashin' don't they?" He shakes his head. "Not square one, Lorna. You've got friends and family that you've chosen. Smart people. Determined people. You've got resources. Yea, there's a lot to build here, but.. it's not from scratch."

Wolverine offers a low chuckle as he notices the blush in her cheeks. "Uh huh.. Well, you try not to get too dazzled by the sub-mariner's washboard abs. That guy is... really complicated, and his relationship with the rest of the world is even more complicated. But.. I'm sure none of that is news to you."

He unfolds his arms and draws a hand over his jaw. "Eh, maybe you are the one dazzlin' him. I'm assumin' you have no intention of expandin' that guy's empire. Got a feelin' folk wouldn't respond well to that."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna turned and pleaded a break to those in line and a few of the Genoshans waiting took the time to scribble down requests on a sheet of paper on a metal clipboard before they went off. She grimaced as she turned back to Logan, and rubbed the back of her neck. "It sure feels like square one. Not a single building left behind. Everything in the refugee camp was taken. At least the crops were left behind, and Julio was able to encourage their growth.. the corn is ripe now. And that will keep some people fed. And we've cleared more land for crops since there are more people..." Far more people than the few thousand previously.

A sigh pulled from her lips as she sat down on the ground, folding her legs beneath her. A blush remained on her cheeks as Logan spoke of Namor, and she cleared her throat as she took another sip of water. "Yeah.. he's complicated.. to put it mildly. It's not like anything serious can happen. His people wouldn't accept me as a surface dweller, and well.." She gestured to Genosha before her.

"I don't think anyone would trust a King from the deep. They're already wary about accepting the supplies from Atlantis." She reached up and pinched the bridge of her nose. "He's offered us infrastructure, constant supplies, resources, and funding. Military protection beyond what I'd bartered.. If I agree to Genosha being a protectorate state. He wants mutants Logan. He wants mutants that can move in the world here and in the sea. For what? I don't know. But he's made no secret about what he wants. He's been honest if not very forth coming about it."

Logan Howlett has posed:
"From what little I know of the guy based on what little I can remember as a guy who's been around awhile. He's a pretty straight shooter, so I'm not really surprised." Wolverine stretches his arms overhead until he gets a satisfying pop then plops down beside Lorna.

"I think if you look hard enough, you'll find everything you need. A nation's greatest asset are it's people. Its surprisin' how quickly things mobilize for the right cause. Two world wars taught me that." He gazes toward the refugee line. "And the people of Genosha well.. they are some pretty special, assets huh? You tellin' me you can't make money with mutant powers? Blink, herself, could make a fortune shippin'. People like you.. given the right materials can create things with just a thought."

He waves his hand, dismissively, "Let me impart some old soldier's wisdom, Lorna. When shit hits the fan: You find a hole to hide in, gather your smartest people, take account of your supplies and assets, and then make a plan. You just have to make room in your head for it."

Looking toward the refugee line once more, he smiles. "It's good you are willin' to get down into the dirt to help your people, but unless you are takin' a break from command. You should probably be holdin' a council or somethin'. There's got to be others who can fabricate."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna exhaled a breath, shaking her head. "A while? He told me he's older than my father." She muttered, and shot Logan a look. "Somehow I end up surrounded with people older than my father and he's already considered a relic by most standards." She drawled, and shook her head. "He respects you though." She mused, and tapped her fingers against the metal canteen in her grip.

"This is a break from my council meetings, we have more people alive now than before, and a lot of old jobs have been filled again. It's a lot of talking and a lot of people arguing right now... I am... considering stepping down. No more kings, no more queens. Or if they must.. something like England. I don't want this responsibility. I'd planned to step down before." She sighed heavily, reaching up to rub her forehead.

"I just worry if I do that it will cost the alliances and treaties I've made."

Logan Howlett has posed:
Wolverine chuckles lowly, "Yea. I'm sure that's a mutual warrior's respect. Namor's definitely a fighter. I think I tend to rub fighters the right way, eh?"

He rubs the back of his head as he hums deeply in contemplation. "Talkin' and arguing don't accomplish much, do they? Maybe you should be tyrannical enough to assign people problems to fix. Use the crown while you've got it. If someone delivers, promote 'em to your umm... parliament or whatever you want to call it."

"Sometimes, you just need to keep people movin'. Even if you make mistakes, you are learnin' something from it. Though if you ask me, and I ain't sayin' you are, you should keep the crown for now. Not enough stability here for democracy, Lorna. Hold onto those alliances and treaties, give your people a strong foothold, and then retire... Or find someone else who can wear the crown, but I ain't ever heard of a democracy that came from rubble." He nods stiffly.

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna smiled faintly as Logan spoke of warriors and mutual respect. She shook her head and sighed softly as he continued. Her smile failed as he spoke of her holding onto the crown. Magneto for certain was done with Genosha. And she would be earning his ire for not following his command if she stayed. "I know... I just keep putting it off, but I shouldn't be in charge. I don't want this.." She grimaced and took another long sip of her canteen.

"Do you think I should just send everyone off? Clear out Genosha and just..." She trailed off, glancing back to him. "Do you truly think we should rebuild... again? It feels pointless. How can I keep people safe?"

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Having disembarked the X-jet a few hundred yards back, Remy takes in the destruction in the same stride that he walks with. Inside he's aghast.

He digs his hand into the trench coat to pull out a cigarette from his semi-crushed pack of Camels.

"Dis sometin, alright," he says absently to Laura. After learning of the devastation, the Cajun has hoped to see it himself. It certainly was not oversold.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura Kinney had not been at all involved with any of the events of Genosha. It's not that she wasn't interested, per se. But, it was more a weird coincidence that whenever the topic came up, or plans made, she wasn't around. But, until recently, Laura also hadn't been around alot.

Now, though, she had Things she wanted to talk to Logan about. And, had gotten it into her head to track him down. It just so happened that Logan was at Hammer Bay, so when Laura managed to finally catch up to him - that's where she, too, ended up.

The dark-haired once-assassin walks up towards the duo of Logan and Lorna, nodding to Lorna and lifting a hand in a greeting for the woman who helped her to win the mini-fridge at the school gambling night event for fun and games.

"Hello," she greets the pair, with as much warmth as Laura has in her presently. Which isn't a whole lot, but, it's a little more than when she'd first arrived. She's - growing. Just slowly.

Logan Howlett has posed:
"Eh, I don't have the answers, Lorna. Though where would you ship people off to? Some nations don't want people like us, and the one's that do want us, want to use us as weapons. Maybe one of the wizkids could make you your own floatin' asteroid base, space arc, or helicarrier. Not sure the location matters more than people workin' together." He shrugs and holds his hands out wide.

"Lorna, let me be real here. Is anyone really safe? Especially a mutant? If safety was all people cared about, why would we have wars? People suffer. People die. Thing that helps me sleep at night is knowin' it wasn't pointless. That it happened because somethin' better is bein' built or preserved. That's what kept me goin' in the trenches of Europe. That's what helped me para-drop in occupied France. What you need is a cause." He stands as he notices others exiting the X-jet.

He nods at Remy and Laura both, then tilts his head to the side. "Eh, you come to get your hands dirty in a little refugee work, Laura? Probably be good for you."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna stared out at the massive mile of scrap metal in front of her as Logan spoke, her eyebrows creasing in thought. She had too many ideas, too many competing visions and demands for what she should or shouldn't do. She had to make a choice, and make it relatively fast. People's lives were in the balance after all. And what she decided as Queen would make or break the nation as stood.

She glanced back at Logan as he spoke of her needing a cause. "The only thing that kept me going before was knowing that we could rebuild.. but it was all destroyed in an instant all over again.." She sighed heavily. "My life and everything about it as been Genosha for years. I don't know who I am without it anymore." She fell silent as Laura and Remy approached, and she offered Laura a smile.

"Hey," She stood, brushing off her cargo pants as she did. "Did you two arrive with more of those supplies Scott was talking about the other day? He's been heading the internet and connectivity along with making sure we keep track of the mutants and their powers."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy is mid inhale and his eyes go wide as Lorna mentions bringing the missing supplies. His eyes trail to Laura, "Hopin' you remembered all dat, mademoiselle."

As they finally come up side to side with Lorna and Logan, Remy looks past the both of them, surveying some of the destruction as the others talk.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura first nods to Lorna, then nods to Remy as well. "Yes. I also brought the mini-fridge. I do not need it. You do," she tells Lorna, matter-of-factly. The magic of the mini-fridge, surely, can help heal Genosha, can it not? Though, if one were to think considering the number of 'things' that Laura owns, it's probably the most valuable apart from the weapons she might have stashed away here or there.

She pauses, noting, "I thought I should at least come and see the island. I am sorry I was not able to assist fighting here, with the people that took me in. I will try to be more responsible."

She pauses, looks aside to Logan. "I wish to speak with you. When you are free." Her visage suggests it's Something Important, and at least to Laura, nothing remotely trivial.

Logan Howlett has posed:
Glancing over his shoulder toward Lorna, his lips press into a thin line. "Then keep pursuin' Genosha without Magneto... and accept it's gonna suck for a while. Pretty sure you are standin' on bedrock, Lorna. No more carpets to pull out from underneath you."

He looks between Remy and Laura then focuses on the later. "Alright. I was going to take one final stroll down the food station lines to make sure idiots aren't fightin' over scraps. Once I make a few glares and growls, I'll be back.. and you'll have my undivided attention. Maybe we can even scrounge up some dinner. I hear the corn is good."

He nods and then starts walking off in the direction of some gathering refugees. After a few moments, there's a small commotion, and then Logan's yelling voice, "Next person who tries to bully someone out of their meal is going to be force-fed their own arm! You got that, bubs?!"

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna glanced once at Remy curiously, not really familiar with the man, and her focus shifted back to Laura. "Oh... a mini fridge... thank-you Laura..that's really thoughtful." There was no power on the island. At all beyond generators that had been brought over. New solar rigs would have to be shipped out and once more re-established. They were back to no utilities. Something she'd faced once already and didn't look forward to again.

A glance was spared back to Logan and she made a face as he spoke of her being on bedrock now and she wrinkled her nose. Not arguing either. His snarls at the refugees down the way made her lips twitch faintly as she shook her head.

"Well.. you made it. Hammer Bay.. or what's left of it again.."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"What happen de time before dis?" asks the Cajun. He takes a final drag from his cigarette and flicks it out onto the ground to match with the rest of the smoldering ashes.

"How many people left here, chere? How many people died?"

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura doesn't have an answer for Remy, because she earnestly doesn't know. She watches Logan leave, listens to him yell, and then she looks back to the other two. She doesn't know either well, Lorna only a little better than Remy.

"I cannot stay long," she tells Lorna, quietly, but firmly adds, "But I will help in whatever way I can while I am here. In whatever way I can. Though I am not certain how to do that," she admits, looking a bit - well, sheepish at that. She shrugs, helplessly.

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna shrugged once, "Well, a few years ago, it was the civil war, leveled most of the cities. Mutants overthrew the Magistrates that had enslaved them. And six... seven months ago.. we were attacked and nearly 16 million people died." She waved a hand and the metal canteen on the ground flew to her grip.

"Right now.. we have about 90... maybe 100 thousand survivors. My father took a thousand to space with him when he took the refugee camp I'd built." She pursed her lips together and she nodded to the cleared path, the road as it were was made of gravel and crushed rubble. But it was clear to walk on underfoot. There were massive earthen built buildings, supplemented with iron work she'd added. A few of stone. All made by mutant hands.

"I dunno Laura, do you want to help harvest some crops, or go hunting through the woods? That might take too much time though.." She mused, and exhaled a breath. "I'm surprised Gabby didn't come with you."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy's eyebrows purse together as Lorna tells the tragic story. It's far worse than he had imagined. Once she gets to a part in particular, he looks near shocked.

"Your father?" He tilts his head, stealing a glance at Laura. "You mean t'tell me dat your father is Magneto?"

Laura Kinney has posed:
"I can hunt," Laura latches onto the one thing that she knows well enough to be able to do. As to Gabby? "I could not find her, and the jet was leaving soon after I had arrived back to the school. I will make it up to her, though," she assures Lorna. "I will be taking her to the zoo, with some of my new friends I have made in Gotham. They also wish to do a 'movie night'." Laura doesn't sound convinced this will be fun, but appears to be willing to give it a go because Gabby likes it that much.

"However, I wish to do what I can to help. Everyone at Xavier's has - done a lot for me. It is the least I can do to show my gratitude."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna smirked, taking a sip from the metal canteen in her grip. "Yeah. I'm Lorna, or if you want Polaris.. Queen of Genosha.. so long as my father doesn't want it. And yes, my father is Magneto. And no one around here is too fond him either." She added, and made a face as she screwed the cap onto the canteen again as she walked.

Her focus shifted back to Laura, "I dunno if there's much to find on the island. I'd imagine maybe some sea birds, and .. well, something inland. Most of the forest is untouched. Only Carrion Cove and Hammer Bay were hit, the two cities. So.." She shrugged, and smiled about Gabby and movie nights. "That sounds good Laura, what movies?" She walked along the path, leading away from the massive refugee encampment and heading toward the very forest she'd mentioned, though there were fields of crops between them and it.

"And I appreciate the help all the same. The X-men have ... well they're my chosen family, I guess. And they've come out again to support me and those that need it the most."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Rough time t'be a Queen," mutters Remy as they walks along with Lorna. "Sorry," he says as he realizes his faux-pas. Hands go in the pockets as he tries to think of something positive to say, but fails. Instead, he just asks what's been on his mind since he first heard about Genosha.

"D'ya have any idea why your papa decided to do all dis? Didn' make much sense to ole Remy."

Laura Kinney has posed:
"I will be able to track if anything is there. If nothing is there to hunt, I can at least chop wood." Built-in claws helps with that process, no doubt. Laura is nothing, if not determined to help. She goes silent, though, as Lorna speaks more of her father, and her role. Not that she understands it all. Sure, she knows who Magneto is - who doesn't?

But, a father, and family - these are more foreign concepts to her still. "I do not know what movies. Gabby will have to choose," she tells Lorna. "But, I have arranged for a movie theatre for us for a private showing." Apparently Laura has - well, met some rather influential people?

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna glanced back at Remy, her eyebrows shooting upward and she snorted a laugh. "It's fine, you're not wrong. I hate it, and I want to give it up.. but people seem to favor me over my father and well.." She shrugged, a bitterness crossing her expression. A glance to where the refugee camp once stood, now nothing but rocks and sea water, followed and she pursed her lips together. "He wants to make an Empire." She stopped, and turned her gaze back to Remy, and then Laura in turn. "He's planning to try to take over the world. Again. He wants to lead mutants everywhere. Not just here." She shook her head and started to move again.

But Laura's word about arranging for a private showing at a theater had her stopping abruptly again.

"Wait, what? The whole theater? Laura.. how'd you manage that?"

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Seems t'me dat de world a whole lot easier to take over from some place on de planet ratha den up in space," Remy says, but not with enough gusto to show that he really means it. He has no idea about this sort of thing.

"We gunna fight him, tho, right?"

"We'll win."

Laura Kinney has posed:
"Then why does he not run for President?" Laura inquires, rather pragmatically, to Lorna. Sure, it's a silly idea. But, the idea does have a little bit of merit to it.

She shrugs, then, somewhat. "As I said. I have met some people from Gotham. I - work with them. On a team. They are aware that I also have obligations to people at Xavier's.." Not that Laura seems to care, or think this is important. "They offered to let us use a theatre they have access to."

And, apparently 'they' have Laura's respect as she seems to be not just protecting who these people are, but going so far as to even protect their gender, or other clues that might betray them without their authorization.

Laura is a loyal person to have on your team.

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna shrugged easily, a roll of her shoulders as she paused at the bend in the gravel road, one path leading down to the sea and another leading to curve around the crops to the forest. "My father has the power of electromagnetism, and he's in space above the Earth.. and its countries. He can knock satellites from the sky, turn away nukes, and if he managed it, spike a nasty solar flare or two... which could knock out electronics down here." She mused, "Of course he's also got his back to a great many heroes that would love to punch him." She mused, folding her arms.

"The X-men will probably fight him, yeah.." She grimaced, and glanced back to Laura arching a brow upward.

"Don't tell me you're working for the mafia in Gotham, Laura. I can't say I know much about the place other than it's well known for that.." She hmm'ed, she didn't really know jack all about the city. Other than it had a less than savory reputation compared to others.

"Also President just sort of rules the US, it's not the whole world.. despite what they claim."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Powerful guy could do all dat from here. Seems like good weather and, you know," Remy tilts his head. "Oxygen and all that."

As Laura talks about her new friends, Lorna seems to read Remy's mind. A single eyebrow pings upwards. Remy knows a few folks in Gotham--and he wonders if Laura has mixed herself in with the wrong crowd. That's how they get ya, of course. With extravagant gifts. Next thing you know you're stealin' for em and losing a chunk of your brain but that's neither here nor there.

Laura Kinney has posed:
"No. One of them works with Batman," Laura assures Lorna. "Another is an associate of the Manhunter. And another is related to Superman." Still, she's not giving up names.

There is a pause, and she looks to Lorna, asks her, "Did you know there are other agencies besides The Facility that experiment on people with abilites?" That causes her to frown. Deeply. Her eyes narrow, then she assures, "They also do not wish me to kill, while I work with them." See? They have to be good guys, right?

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna glanced side long at Remy, "Oh yeah, he could, but in space it's harder for people to get to him in return. I guess. Is his thought process. I don't know. He's gone for a manic loop. It happens sometimes. Unfortunately my father, unlike when most bipolar people flip, they don't try to take over the planet..." She grimaced and shook her head. "I don't know what he plans. But he wanted me to clear out everyone from Genosha." She sighed heavily, and glanced back to Laura. She blinked. Once. Then twice.

"Oh.. huh. Okay.." Her eyebrows furrowed but she didn't push either for details. Laura had dropped some fairly well known names. But then she shook her head. "I didn't, but I can't say I'm surprised. For every type of person out there with powers, I'm sure there's a government program or some private company trying to make a profit from them. This whole island used to be ruled by people like that. And the Magistrates? There are thousands still out there. I might have sank their warships but I promise you, they're waiting..."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Batman?" asks Remy, a bit surprised. "Dat guy actually real?" Man, you come to Genosha and you learn all sorts of things about the world. Supervillains in space and dark myths of the Gotham Underground come to life. "Should probably be careful round dat town, chere. Always 'ere people say dere aint nothin' good dat come from dat town."

Laura Kinney has posed:
"I am aware. But, I can handle myself," she assures Remy, matter-of-factly. Still, the girl is like no girl Remy may have met. She's no teenage girl, to be sure. She is not about malls, or pop music, or movies. She's a trained assassin, without any idea of how to properly socialize, or what friends are beyond the dictionary definition. The literal meaning, without any of the experience, or emotions.

"They would not have enlisted me if they did not find me capable, or my experience valuable to their cause. It will also give me further experience in - the world. I also intend to join X-Force," she announces to both of them, flatly, but with determination. "I want to repay everyone. And prove my worth. And that is where my experience and skills will be most readily used."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna shrugged once, she'd certainly never met Batman. But there were stranger things in the world. Who was she to question a guy running around in a cape in Gotham? She smiled at Laura. "She can. I'm less worried about Laura's ability to take out a guy if she wants, more than I am that someone socially might try something." She shook her head and sighed.

A blink followed and her head tilted to the side. "X-Force? Did I miss something?"

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Remy says almost giving an eyeroll. "Errybody can take care of demselves until all of de sudden dey can't." He chuckles to himself, "You find y'self in trouble in dat town, dun come callin' Remy to fish y'out. Dat town is haunted."

Laura Kinney has posed:
"I have never seen a ghost," Laura tells Remy, matter-of-factly. "Nor have I smelled one." Though, suddenly, she does not look entirely sure that ghosts would have a scent. It's something to consider, at least.

The young mutant then looks over to Lorna. "But I don't think you missed anything. I spoke with the Professor, Gabby and myself did. And I decided I should join X-Force. That is all. I need to approach Jean and it ultimately will be her decision. I will have to prove myself."

Laura sniffs the air a few times, frowns, but doesn't seem to have anything, at least, nothing that interests her. No animals, yet. "But I will not ask either of you to Gotham. You have other duties, I'm sure."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna shrugged once at Remy, "Genosha is haunted. Gotham has crime." She waved a hand expansively around the area. "Seriously if ghosts exist, it would be here." She murmured, her voice bitter only slightly as she spoke. "But you're not necessarily wrong either. I can toss around battleships and tanks, but if someone came up with a wooden baseball bat or a brick?" She shrugged once. Her gaze swinging back to Laura.

"I don't know what X-Force is.. Is that some kind of a team Jean is making?" The X-men were always coming up with new rosters.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Tinkin' you are probably right, chere," Remy replies as he nods to the carnage and destruction in front of him. Could have nodded in any direction, really. He nods to Lorna, "Dats why you got de rest of us."

As an afterthought, Remy grins at Laura. "Take ya down t'Nawlins. All de ghost down dere smell like sometin."

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura looks over to Remy, then, she nods, "Can Gabby come with us?" She asks, apparently ready, and willing, to take him up on the offer for the experience. Afterall, having experience in tracking ghosts might come in handy some time, one never knows.

She nods to Lorna, "Yes." She considers, "Jean would be able to tell you more. Or the Professor." Apparently if Lorna doesn't know, again, Laura is still showing loyalty and discretion by not 'spilling the beans'.

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna blinked, "New Orleans?" Her accent was very much the Northern accent that came with having spent her younger years in New York and it showed. She frankly butchered the name in comparison to Remy's smooth pronunciation. "Isn't the only thing she'll be smelling down there is someone's vomit from having too much bourbon?" She offered, tilting her head as she crossed her arms and glanced back to Laura.

"I'll talk to Jean then." She mused, and pushed her hair back from her face. She gestured to the path leading into the tropical forest and underbrush. "The path winds along the base of the mountain. A couple of the points split off and run parallel to the old road to Carrion Cove. But we haven't even started to look at the remains there. Uhm.. The rest of the island should be untouched though.."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"All depend on how good a time we all have down dere," Remy replies with a wry grin. "Could be very good. Could also be pretty bad."

"Sure, chere, we can head down Nawlins way. Y'aint had real food till ya had a fried oyster poboy." And from there he talks at length about poboys, hurricanes, and the other cajun fare.
