Cast of Characters: Roy Harper, AJ Strong

Roy Harper has posed:
School will be staring up again soon and that means checking back into the dorm rooms at Happy Harbor, making sure that things are unpacked and that school supplies are acquired. It'll be Roy's senior year, and he's actually possibly going to graduate. He'd been back in New York for the Purgatory opening, and when AJ hadn't been able to come, he'd decided to just go out anyway. There was no danger of him falling off the wagon at a club that didn't serve any alcohol, and meeting new friends is a good thing, right? It had been weird, super weird, instead. Roy'd texted AJ to let him know he was over at the dorm and in his room unpacking some stuff, if he felt like stopping by whenever he got to the school.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ mut have been back for a bit, since he certainly seems to be back to making himself at home in the dorms. There's only a courtesy knock on Roy's door before he lets himself in. School may be starting soon, but the wheather still has AJ dressed in a tank top and shorts, and at the moment he's wandering around barefoot which may be a dubious sense in the dorms, though he looks a bit bleary eyed. "Hey! Just got here this morning myself, unpacked and napped. Your text woke me up." He grins though, clearly not annoyed with being roused from his siesta.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy's got on a pair of jeans, a white t-shirt, and plain white athletic socks on as he wanders around his room, stuffing his clothes from his bag back into his little closet locker thingy. He glances over and grins a bit at AJ when he comes wandering in looking sleepy. "Sorry for waking you up," he says, genuinely seeming contrite for that. He runs his fingers through his hair, brushing it back from his forehead. "You all settled back in?"

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ unceremoniously plops himself down on the edge of Roy's bed, his sleepy grin still a bit dopey. "It's alright, stomach would have woken me up soon anyway, and I always like seeing you." He stretches his legs out in front of him, propping himself up with his hands. "Mostly. One more box to do with all my desk stuff in it." He tilts his head to the side, thinking. "You know, we should really go enjoy the beach once more time before classes start."

Roy Harper has posed:
"Want to go after lunch?" Roy asks, when AJ mentions the beach. He grabs a couple of other things out of the box and sets them up on the shelf inside the closet. Then he closes it up and turns around to lean back against it, arms folded in front of him lightly. "I'm always game for the beach when it's warm enough not to freeze my ass off."

AJ Strong has posed:
"Food and the beach? I'm feeling spoiled." AJ laughs softly and lays back, crossing his hands over his stomach. "Sorry about the club opening, dad wanted a family night before I came back to the dorms." He shifts his head to get a good look at Roy. "I mean, he offered me steak, what was I going to do? Refuse?"

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy grins and says, "Never let it be said that I don't know the way to your heart." He wanders over to the bed, sitting up near AJ's head. He reaches down to ruffle his hair just a little bit and then says, "You didn't miss a whole lot. It's not like we can't go once school starts. I just thought it'd be cool to go somewhere that I can actually get into. And it ended up super awkward anyway." He laughs.

AJ Strong has posed:
"I know, but being there opening night is one of those.. things." AJ waves a hand casually, before letting it flop back on his stomach. He scrunches his brows together as he looks up at Roy. "Well, maybe it was good I wasn't there, I'd have made it even more awkward." He laughs slightly as he shakes his head. "Just seems weird though, bunch of teenagers drinking fake cocktails pretending to be all grown up at a club. Super awkward."

Roy Harper has posed:
"There is no possible way you could have made it more awkward," Roy laughs. "And I dunno, the fake drinks weren't bad. And the music was good. I went out on the dance floor to dance for a bit though, and this chick came up to dance with me. But she was giving me the serious scanning me up and down like she was reading my barcode kind of eye. And doing the whole full-on flirting thing. Then she was all 'You are more than you seem, aren't you?' and I was like.. 'Am I?' because.. I have no idea /what/ she was talking about."

AJ Strong has posed:
"Well.. I really can't blame her. I do enjoy looking at you, too. It's a lot of nice to look at." AJ waggles his brows. "I just won't add in the awkward flirtng though. I'm pretty sure I'd be really bad at it anyway." He giggles softly. "I mean, I don't blame her for trying to get in your pants, but yeah.. that's kind of a weird line."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy grins and says, "Yeah well, I would have enjoyed looking at you a whole lot more, myself." Then he laughs and says, "You could not possibly be worse. Trust me.. this gets even better.. or worse, or both, depending on how you look at it." He takes a breath, "So.. after that, she's all spinning around and half hiding behind her hair, and doing that whole like eyelash-fluttery coy smile thing.. and out of the blue she comes out with... 'I'm out of my depth, sir. Please don't kill me in a dark corner, red's not my color..' and I like.. I just stood there like she'd smacked me in the face with a brick.. because what do you even /say/ to that?" He blinks down at AJ with this completely baffled look on his face. "What about me screams serial killer? What about /her/ thinks hitting on a serial killer is a good idea? What..the.. everloving fuck?"

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ lets out a long, low whistle. "That is some damaged goods right there." He rolls his finger around in a circle by his ear. "I bet she has a whole subscription to Daddy Issues Weekly, too." He snorts softly as he sits back up, pulling his legs under him and leaning a shoulder against Roy. "And then she definitely can't have you, I mean, your whole thing is red, and she said it herself, not her color. I on the other hand, go with red very well." He tries to keep a straight face for a moment and can't, instead busting out laughing. "I think you're lucky you got out of there and didn't end up murdered in /her/ basement."

Roy Harper has posed:
"Dude she couldn't have been any older than we are," Roy says, eyes still a bit wide, and then shakes his head. "Was so weird. I just told her I was going to go get a drink and to have a nice night and don't get murdered.. because what the heck do you say to that?" He leans his shoulder back against AJ's and shakes his head slowly. Then he laughs and slides an arm around AJ's shoulders, leaning against him. "You do go very well with red," he laughs and then nods vigorously. "Right? Stuffed and propped up in some creepy tableau with a little dog and a table perpetually set up for Sunday dinner." He gives a mock shudder.

AJ Strong has posed:
"I should hope there weren't some cougars hanging out in a teen club hitting on high school students, that'd be creepier." He shakes his head. "I dunno, man. Some people just go weird, or maybe she was tying to be edgy, or cute, who knows." He shrugs as he rests his head on Roy's shoulder. "No getting yourself murdered and taxidermied though, I really don't want to have to carry that baggage around."

Roy Harper has posed:
"Well, some chick's dad showed up and kicked out a guy that was dealing drugs out of pez dispensers in the back, and there were some older kids who were probably old enough to drink at the Dungeon instead of Purgatory, but yeah I mean, almost everyone was our age," Roy says as he slides his hand over AJ's and slips his fingers between his, giving his hand a small squeeze. "I would have rather been dancing with you," he grins. Then he laughs, "I will try to stay alive to prevent any lifelong emotional scarring."

AJ Strong has posed:
"Weird drugdealer selling in the back, older folks who don't really belong, and a crazy girl. Yup. Sounds like a night club." AJ gives a crooked grin. "Too bad I missed all the fun, but it was probably super crowded, I think I rather go on a night where it would be a little more calm, but I owe you a dance then." Roy gets a light elbow to the ribs. "Make sure you do."

Roy Harper has posed:
"Yeah," Roy laughs. "It was definitely a club." He shrugs his shoulders and says, "I dunno. Just trying to get out there and meet some friends our age, you know? Wouldn't hurt to have some more folks to hang out with from time to time." Then he grins, "And yeah, you do owe me a dance. So, I'll take you one of these nights when it's not so crowded."

AJ Strong has posed:
"Point taken. I guess we could use some others to hang around with." AJ swings one leg off the edge of the bed. "Dancing, hmm? It'll give me another thing to cross off my list. We're really making a dent in that thing. I'm also not sure if I can dance without making an idiot of myself. I mean.. I'm not about to go off twerking, that would be weird."

Roy Harper has posed:
"Not.. that I don't want to, you know, spend all my time with you," Roy grins a little bit crookedly, giving AJ's hand a light squeeze. "But it's good to have friends. Do normal stuff. Cross more of those things off your list. Plus, I don't want you to get sick of me before we even graduate. A little normal life stuff is good to mix in between school and fighting crime." He then laughs and says, "I can teach you how to dance."

AJ Strong has posed:
"I was agreeing!" AJ says with a laugh. "It really couldn't hurt to have things to do besides bother each other, as much as I like bothering you. And this year I need to figure out where I'm going to college, if I am.. or what's going on." He groans and falls over onto the bed. "And the teachers are going to be insane this year.." He point at Roy. "Dance lessons! Yes.. as long as you know how to dance."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy grins and then he says, "Yeah. You gotta figure out what school you want to go to and get all those applications out and stuff. And I suppose I should figure out what I'm going to do with myself." He takes in a deep breath and lets it out slowly. "Now that it looks like I'm actually going to graduate high school. I guess I should figure out what to do next." He frowns just a little bit. It's been a decision that he's been putting off for a while, and he just really doesn't know.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ stretches out like a cat and plops his legs across Roy's lap. "There is one thing I wanted to ask you.. If we end up in the same town, if.. I hope we do. YOu wanna get a place together?" He presses his lips together then shakes his head. "You don't need to answer yet, it just popped into my head out of nowhere. Maybe just something to think about.." He stares up at the ceiling. "Sorry, that was.. out of nowhere." He repeats lamely.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy grins and rests back on his hands, lifting his brows quizzically when AJ says that there's something that he wanted to ask him. He opens his mouth to answer, but then AJ continues, so he closes it for a moment to let him finish. The grin on his features skews a bit crooked and then he says, "Kinda hoping that we end up in the same place. I mean, everything's connected by the loop but.. yeah." Then he says, "I think it'd be cool to get a place together. You can go to school and I can.. do whatever I end up doing. Yeah. Let's do it." They've got a little bit of time to wait before then but, Roy certainly seems game.

AJ Strong has posed:
"I mean, if it works out." But AJ is grinning that dopey grin of his that means he's happy enough with the answer. "I'm just.. going to stop talking now." He looks around Roy's room. "You need hep putting anything away? Hanging up stuff? Carving your initials into the floor boards so ever future student knows you were here?"

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy doesn't want to say that it /will/ work out, because he doesn't want to jinx it. But he has every intention of making it work out one way or another. He just grins back, though, keeping that to himself for the time being. But he grins and gives one of the legs draped across his leg a squeeze. "Don't stop talking. I like when you talk." He glances around the room and says, "I was going to hang up some stuff, if you want to help me do that." He has some art and stuff to make the room a little more personal.
