Dinner Date
Date of Scene: 22 August 2020
Location: The Strait Lace Steakhouse - Hellfire Club
Synopsis: Alex and Emma catch back up over a meal at the Strait Lace.
Cast of Characters: Alex Summers, Emma Frost

Alex Summers has posed:
Due to meetings, Alex was actually first to the Strait Lace, and dressed appropriate, with sportscoat and slacks, though he's declined a tie for the tay, preferring a high collared button up shirt instead. Of course, even absent the Frost name does move things along, and he's quickly shown to a semi-private table to await his ladies pleasure. Or displeasure, considering the meeting. He doubts any of that will be aimed his way, but he's perfectly fine being an ear to vent with on the difficulties of dealing with a collection of what can charitably be called large egos that most HFC magnates possess. Though some are more tolerable than others, of course.

He's at least ordered a wine while he waits, munching lightly on a fresh fruit appetizer as he scrolls through something on his phone.

Emma Frost has posed:
Coming down from the VIP in a lace-edged white sundress with hi-low skirt and a halter neckline, Emma Frost of course bypasses the line and is quickly shown to the table where Alex waits for her, looking fairly pleased as she slides into her seat. "Hey, hon," she greets him, already reaching for the small drink specials menu. She had a drink up in the VIP but that's already been finished. She skims the specials for the week considering, then orders pretty much the same thing she already had earlier. "That went well enough."

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex breaks into a smile as he sees Emma walking over. "Good to hear, never can tell with some of these meetings.' he says goodnaturedly. He doesn't ask for details; above his paygrade, so to speak, or at least something that he knows is private. "Was wondering if it would run long again this time." He pauses as a waitress appears almost immediately to take the order before heading off to fetch it from teh bar.

Emma Frost has posed:
"Eh, it was informal. New club opened up, it's doing better than expected. Our new head of security already had to throw some kid out for dealing." Openly. Even by now, Alex probably is aware that they look the other way on discreet things. "Overall, it's a success. I will need to thank my new assistant quite handsomely for it, as the design of the club was her idea. She should get some sort of reward."

Alex Summers has posed:
"That's the teen one, Purgatory, right?" Alex snags another piece of strawberry from the fruit plate as he raises a brow. "Alexis, you mean. Unless you've gotten another assistant I hadn't heard about yet. Seems like you need a small army of them sometimes." he notes ruefully. "With all the plates you're keeping spinning."

Emma Frost has posed:
"Mmhmm. Alexis has been a lifesaver." Emma glances over the dinner menu and makes a few quick decisions, ready for when the waitress comes back with drinks to go ahead and put orders in. "But yeah. Purgatory is extremely popular. I'm happy for it, and for her." She leans forward a bit. "Hopefully work will slow down a bit for you as well, and we can stop missing each other so much." She grins a bit. "I mean, sometimes I feel like we don't really get to do much except fall asleep."

Alex Summers has posed:
The waitress returns promptly, taking Emma's order and Alex's for a strip steak with potatles and veggies on the side, before hurrying off again. He makes a face once she's gone, sighing. "Yeah, I've been jumping all over feels like on this project, especailly with the whole flying to North Dakota and back. Still not convinced this mine they've purchased is worth the effort it'd take to get it running again, but fairly sure they can actually remove the flooding from the aquifer nearby if they're careful." He reaches across to snag one of Emma's hands gently. "Yeah. Missed you. And not just because of the activity that usually tires us out before we have to sleep." he says, a twinkle in his eyes.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma grins wickedly. "Well if you're back for at least a couple of days maybe we will have to engage in those activities a bit to make up for the loss..." she teases. "Shaw generally isn't foolish so I suspect that he will get at least what he expects from the mine. If nothing else." She shrugs. "But I don't know. Not my field and our holdings don't go down those paths." She wrinkles her nose, not wanting to talk too much about work. "Still. I have missed you too and I'm glad to have you back." She gives him a wink. "Who else could I steal heat from in the middle of the night?"

Alex Summers has posed:
"Hah." Alex snorts, then grins. "Well, you've got me for a while beautiful, I'm past the more interesting poke around in the mine phase and hiking around phase, now it's going to be a week or two of writing up the reports. So won't be going anywhere that I know of, unless there's some sort of emergency." He shrugs his shoulders.

Emma Frost has posed:
"Mm. That does make me curious if you want to go with me to the Sins party," Emma asks, sipping her drink. "Its a bit more... extra... than anything you've been to at the club yet."

Alex Summers has posed:
"Sins? Another opening or just a party?" Alex says curiously. "And that sounds vaguely ominous, what's extra about it exactly?" he wonders, taking a sip from his drink as he leans back in his chair.

Emma Frost has posed:
"Just a private party. You choose a sin to embody and embrace it." She shrugs mildly. "It can get fun and terrible and we never speak of what happens there." She grins a bit.

Alex Summers has posed:
"That sounds...interesting." Alex says curiously. "I'm not sure what sin I'd go for that. Wrath?" he says thoughfully. "So it's like a sexy costume party version of a Sin, I'm guessing?"

Emma Frost has posed:
"Mmhmm." Emma leans back in her seat. "I'm going as gluttony. Most of the women choose lust and it gets old fast. So lacking in creativity." She stirs her drink a little before taking another sip. "Wrath could be fun, certainly."

Alex Summers has posed:
"I thik of the seven deadly sins, it's probably the one I've fallen prey to that I regret, anyway." Alex says with a faint frown. "Gluttony, hmm? Maybe I should just go as Sloth. Sweatpants and t-shirt and a big bag of cheetos to munch on." He grins.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma grins and tsks. "Lazy." she notes as their food arrives. "Its really about fun and pageantry." She digs into her baked sweet potato first.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex thanks the waitress as she returns, picking up his silverware to begin separating the steak into bite-sized chunks. "Pageantry...not something I'm used to, so I'm open to suggestions there." he admits. "I could probably think of something mildly creative given time though." He take sa bite of the steak, sighing in pleasure at the taste as he chews.

Emma Frost has posed:
"Let me guess, fast food, granola bars and bottle water while you were out rock climbing?" Emma teases. She looks pretty happy with her own meal too though, as she's been mostly doing snacks and water or drinks herself lately.

Alex Summers has posed:
"Basically, and it's North Dakota. It's not even /interesting/ food if you're lucky enough to find an actual restaurant." Alex grumps. "You know it's bad when the protein shake is the best food of the day." He sighs. "It's nice to sit down and have a real meal, definitely."
