Cast of Characters: Leland Owlsley, Courtney Whitmore

Leland Owlsley has posed:
This part of Queens was very rough, especially in the middle of the night. The streets seemed almost abandoned, with only the occasional pedestrian or passing motor vehicle breaking the quiet atmosphere. Suddenly, the night was pierced by the sounds of roaring motorcycles as 12 Harley Davidsons zoomed down the road. They came to a stop out in front of a pharmacy. As the bikers dismounted their rides and walked towards the store, one would clearly see the image of a weeping, skeletal, wraith in the shape of a Bride drawn on the back of them. Underneath this image was a tile, "Weeping Widows MC."

The Weeping Widows were a infamous Outlaw Motorcycle Gang notorious for their involvement in the very brutal Meth trade. Underworld legend spoke of this brutal gang, and their almost sinister methods of dealing with enemies, methods they were about to bring to life tonight.

The bikers enter the Pharmacy and, within a few minutes, crashing, and cries of pain and shouts for help fill the air.

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
Courtney Whitmore is not a city girl. She used to be, but the last few years were spent in a small town in Nebraska, and then she moved to Metropolis for college. Which, you know, is not a bad place to be, but she's not in Metropolis now. She's in New York. And generally speaking, there's nothing wrong with New York either, but the young blonde is supposed to be in Manhattan. Times Square. Seeing Hamilton.

Three hours ago.

Courtney just doesn't know New York, and that's an issue, because not only has she missed the show, but she wound up in Queens, and that IS a problem, because she has just witnessed a gang of bikers smash into a drugstore that probably didn't need their help ruining things, given what she knows of Queens from movies. Come on, guys, she thinks. This is supposed to be my night off.

She slips into an alley, quiet as can be, and here she starts changing -- the outer clothes come off, are shoved into her backpack, and the uniform beneath is revealed. She snaps the red belt around her waist and she's ready to go before the 911 operator even picks up.

"911, what is your emergency?"

"Hi, there's a gang of bikers attacking a drug store in Queens. It's uh..." She hesitates, glancing down from her new perch on a streetlight where she carefully stows her backpack, then rattles off the address. "But I think it's gonna be okay. Stargirl is there."

Leland Owlsley has posed:
As you approach the drug store, the cries of pain and the sounds of crashing get louder and louder. These sounds are mixed in with the occasional cruel laugh and swear. As you approach, you would catch the smell of alcohol, and lots of it. There was a small display window at the front of the store, and what was happening inside was quite obvious.

You would see 11 of the 12 bikers pouring bottles of alcohol, and what appeared to be other easily ignited substances all around the store. The 12 one however, seems currently occupied with something much more sinister. He appears to be holding a heavily cut up man in a lab coat tightly by the arm, while clutching a machete in the other hand. The biker then lets out a snarl and says in a thick, Hispanic accent,

"So, you think you can send one of out brothers to jail and get away with it!? The Weeping Widows don't forget a slight like that, and now you will pay!"

The biker than lifts the machete up in the air, and attempts to send it crashing down on the pharmacist's arm.

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
The girl is framed in the doorway when the machete starts its downward swing. "No!" she shouts, and from her chest bursts a stream of stars -- cartoonish, five-pointed things with no physical aspect, but carrying a charge that's enough to disrupt electronics and normal nervous systems.

"This isn't my neighborhood," she announces. "Not even my town! But you better believe I'm making it my business!" She leaps across the store on the heels of the ethereal stars, a pretty blonde in blue and white spandex with a red belt and sneakers, aiming a kick at the number twelve biker. He's got time to dodge, and certainly the lot of them have time to react. She's only one girl, after all. But she's nimble, and given how far she can jump, she's certainly got some strength to her.

Leland Owlsley has posed:
The biker screams in pain as the stars hit his arm, and seemingly causes it to go heywire, swinging everywhere and nearly hitting another biker in the process. However, he has enough time to dive out of the way and dodge the hero's attack. Machete Man quickly gets up from his dive and grips his machete tightly as he snarls at the girl and charges at her, swinging his machete. Meanwhile, a second biker pulls out a pocket knife and charges her as well

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
"I have to ask," she says, dodging the machete as easily as she would a charging tortoise, "are the supers around here really vulnerable to blades or something? I mean, I heard the Avengers gathered in New York, but I'm pretty sure knives wouldn't do much to Iron Man." She grabs the arm of the man with the machete, uses his momentum to draw him into her rising knee catching him firmly in the chest, then swinging him into the path of the man with the pocket knife. Then she pauses a moment to consider the second. "Well, at least you're not trying to make up for anything."

Leland Owlsley has posed:
The man with the machete cries in pain, then lets out a short, angered scream as he collides into the second man, knocking them both out. Biker 3, a rather thin man wearing sunglasses growls and starts to toss bottles of liquor at the girl. Meanwhile, biker number 4 starts to quietly pull a pistol from his waistband and aims it at Courtney.

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
"Oooh, booze and bullets," the blonde says with dry, sarcastic horror. "Come on. Really. Guys. A super hero is here. It is time to run now. Some of you might make it." To the pharmacist she says, "You need to hide and call the police. I already let 'em know what was going on, but a second report isn't going to hurt." Even as she says this she's twisting and turning to get out of the way of the bottles, even as a second burst of stars flashes out toward her attackers.

Leland Owlsley has posed:
The stars fly through the air, striking their intended targets. The two targets fall to the ground, obviously incapacitates as the pharmacist takes cover and calls the police. The remaining bikers, perhaps taking the girl's advice, begin to attempt to flee the store, but not before one lights a lighter from his back pocket and tosses it at the puddle of booze they made on the ground, and lighting it on fire.

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
The blonde mutters, "Of course," under her breath. Because now, now she has to not only stop as many of those guys as she can, but also put out the fire and stop their idiot friends from getting burnt up. She looks around quickly, then races for the nearest display of sodas or water or whatever they have here -- drug stores always have something. It's open in an instant, and she's spilling it over the fire, trying to put it out before it can get far. "Arsonists suck!" she shouts after the bikers.

Leland Owlsley has posed:
The fire is put out before it can spread any farther. As the sound of police sirens fill the air, you hear the sounds of motorcycle engines starting up, and the grating sounds of tires squealing on asphalt. The bikers were starting to get away!

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
Stargirl glances around the store, making sure the bikers she took down are sufficiently out that she doesn't see a threat to the pharmacist before the cops get in here, and then she bursts out the door again and leaps forward toward the bikers. She can't catch them all, she's pretty sure, but she's fast with the belt on, and she's going to try to get all she can -- and her tactics are simple: race after them, leaping and jumping, and pull them off the speeding bikes, drop them on the ground, and hope for the best.

Leland Owlsley has posed:
This tactic seems to work well at first. You managed to pull three bikers off their bikes, and send them tumbling onto the asphalt. However, when you reach the fourth biker, he turns to you and takes a swing at you with his fist, which appear to be adorned with brass knuckles.

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
It's not as much of a problem as the biker might expect. Stargirl's belt provides her with a forcefield that can handle high caliber bullets. A pair of brass knuckles isn't going to do much to her. But it's surprise enough that she stumbles -- but still grabs for him, intent on taking him down, even if four of his friends get away. Eight out of twelve. That's pretty good.

Leland Owlsley has posed:
The man lets out a swear as he is grabbed and dragged off of his bike. The bike swerves out of control and smashes into a store front, causing the biker to swear even more. He may be angry, but he is in no position to do anything considering his current position. The sounds of police sirens grow closer as the remaining 4 bikers disappear into the night.

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
"Seriously," Stargirl says to the last biker as she hoists him up by the jacket, holding him over her head -- she's only five two -- and carrying him that way, as though he were a disobedient cat, toward the police. "You guys really need better hobbies." She hails the police with her free hand. "Hey! Can you guys tell me how to get back to Grand Central?!"
