Synopsis: Talons attack Robin and Sparrow!
Cast of Characters: Tim Drake, Damian Wayne, Carrie Kelley

Tim Drake has posed:
Patrolling so far has gone well the past few nights. And while many of the Bat Family have come face to face with the wicked Talons, so far, Sparrow and Robin have been spared of direct contact.

Tonight, Robin has been paired with Sparrow for the nightly patrols, rather than Batman. While many of the pairs for patrol had bene fairly consistent, there was some amount of switching things up, both because of various members of the family having other pressing matters at times, and to keep people from falling into a rut.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Robin had been watching a transaction taking place between Ace Chemical and an adjacent building. Possibly a weapons deal, considering the crates that were around the group. His mask enhanced his vision to zoom in and see what was going on.

"I can't make out the merchandise." He said, trying to get a bead on what exactly was changing hands. "Could be legitimate goods." Something they all had to worry about, while they all had a good track record, sometimes what you think is some illegal trading is actually just real after hours work.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Sparrow was watching as well though she takes more time to glance around the area. They were paired together as a means to ensure that there would be someone there to watch one another's backs if the Court acted up again. So she is doing just that while listening to his current findings, or lack thereof.

"Look at the way they're acting. Are they relaxed? Acting like they're dragging their feet or rushing to get home? If you can't tell the merch, you can usually tell by how they act. If it's legitimate work at this hour they're probably grumpy and tired."

Tim Drake has posed:
Grumpy and tired seems to be the word of the night. The folks involved at least seem to be mildly annoyed more than furtive. But that could also be because Ace Chemicals is, even when closed, not a comfortable place for anyone to be.

There is a small noise of a pebble being kicked behind Sparrow, which is all the warning that she gets before a long blade moves to strike her.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
It was all the alert she needed. Sparrow drops down quick to spin a kick behind her to sweep the legs of whoever should dare sneak up on her. If it's a friend she'll deal with it. If it's a foe... It'll be dealt with further. For now though she had to give herself time to recover and deal with the situation of being snuck up on.

"Robin!" She barks out as warning in case he hadn't heard.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian's hand adjusts on his mask, obviously taking another look at what was going on with the workers. ">tt<" Releasing his hand from the controls on his mask.

He turned around, and saw what was attacking Sparrow. Immediately drawing out two batarangs, sharpened, and one after the other throwing them at the foe. Allowing him time to unsheathe his sword and join Carrie's side.

Tim Drake has posed:
The talons move smoothly, blades drawn as they press. The batarangs hit and sink in, but neither seem to notice them. Sparrow's leg sweep is avoided by the foremost one as he jumps aside, putting him in Damian's range. The second talon moves up to continue to engage Carrie. Neither of them speak, simply staring through the red goggle eyes.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"They're already dead," Sparrow surmizes from the information she had been told, and the way they were acting. This meant that she didn't have to hold back--But at the same time it also meant that what she would do to disarm someone typically may not work against someone who didn't have a proper reaction. Spinning around to face the oncoming pair she pulls out a pair of her own batarangs. They're given a thumb over a release to slide the center out longer creating a handle to use while the batwings wings are the blades. It was a quick fix to give her close combat weaponry that was more dangerous than the basics.

Swinging a punch out toward the one coming behind she allows the first to be dealt with by Robin for onw as she moves to disarm the second.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian's sword swipes at the closer Talon. He recalled the warnings, and the allowing of deadly force. He had been glad for the opportunity, to say the least.

"Eyes." He said, before reaching into his utility belt, removing two large pellets, and throwing one at him, and the other at Carrie's Talon. Flashbangs, hoping it would work against these undead creatures.

Tim Drake has posed:
Flashbangs don't seem to really faze them for long. While they do take a step back and seem to regather their bearings, its a quick thing, and as one, they both draw daggers to pair with their swords. The dagger catches one of Carrie's batarang-daggers. The talon fighting Damian catches Damian's sword with his own.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Heeding the warning of watching her eyes Sparrow narrows them to mere slits. It was still bright but no where near as damaging, and far easier to recover from than without. By the time the Talon is coming at her again she's reacting once more, using her batarang-dagger to try and parry the blow up and away. The other attempts to slice in seeking to remove tendon at the elbow. Hopefully the same things that kept people moving worked on the undead... but at this point she wasn't sure. "Really wouldn't mind one of Hood's guns right now!"

Damian Wayne has posed:
The quickness that the Talons brushed off the flashbangs was disappointing, but not unexpected.

His sword locked up, Damian slips underneath the Talon's legs, trying to slip out from the hold, and to stab at the midsection while he evaded.

"Really wouldn't mind one of those RPGs he gave me for my birthday!"

Tim Drake has posed:
The slicing and stabbing works in the sense that the blades sink in... its apparent that unlike the Bat family, there is no armor to the talons owl costumes. The lower half of one of the talons arms hangs loosely now, though not entirely non-functional, and he keeps pushing Carrie backwards towards the building edge, trying to deny her space to move.

The other takes Damian's blade to the guts without so much as a flinch. The smaller bat does evade, though instead of turning to engage Damian, the second talon also moves to help his companion with Carrie, preparing to skewer her.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Sparrow curses out as she realizes she's being ganged up on. Worse yet the feel of the gravel beneath her boots had changed. She was near the edge yet dared not to look back. It would be give them far too easy an opening. Gritting her teeth she throws the elongaged batarang at the face of the nearest one just to free her hand. The other dives down to her belt reaching for the grapple gun.

It's pulled free. But in time? It was hard to tell as she's forced back another step to dodge the blade of the other. Practically bending backwards she ends up going over the edge without so much as a yelp, but backwards and head first? Not good. The grapple gun fires a second later. Sloppy. Unaimed. It catches her from falling completely. This time she does yell though as a rather unpleasant pop comes from the arm tangled up in the grapple line leaving her dangling with one useless arm.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian's ire grows as the Talon he was fighting had changed to focus on Carrie.

Robin had scoped out how bad it looked, and took out the skull-pendant from his chest, blowing on it, producing a shrill SKREEE! Calling for Goliath for an emergency pickup.

Buying time, Damian jumped, and attempted to dropkick one of the Talons, at least to get half of them away from Carrie as she dangled.

Tim Drake has posed:
The dropkick to the back sends one of the Talons flying forward and off the building, where it lands with a cracking thud on the ground below. Form her vantage point, Carrie will be able to see that for a few moments, it lays there as if dead.

Then it slowly gets back up, pushing itself back together, so to speak.

Its companion turns on Damian, slashing low with its blades.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Sparrow grimaces both from the discomfort of her dislocated arm and the crunch of the Talon as it hits the ground. Only to get up again. With a strained voice she offers over the coms << They just get right back up. We'd do better to evacuate, Robin. >>

At least until they had a means to fight these creatures once and for all.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian's eyelets has spread wide before he took a leap, the blade missing one of his legs, but biting into his right. Blood spattered from the wound, but Damian stopped himself from crying out.

Leathery wings flapped through the Gotham atmosphere, and plucked Damian from mid-air. "Goliath!" Damian said, relieved. A scarlet paw held the boy, and the Bat-Dragon looked at him concerned but also angry. Goliath was in protector-mode, and his charge was injured, he could smell the blood on the air.

But of course, Goliath had scoped Carrie dangling there as well, turning sharply, the beast made a pass for Carrie as well, grabbing Sparrow as gently as he could whilst flying quickly.

Tim Drake has posed:
The talons watch as the two young bats escape into the night impassively. There will be another time.

Soon.

Very soon.
