Ted Kord has posed:
Ted Kord has had better days. It began with a dust up with some thugs inside a dumpling restaurant. It ended with their chase and apprehension with the able assistance of the Huntress. Justice is served. The restaurant's owner and staff do not see it that way. In fact, Ted is standing in the shattered glass of a huge aquarium and the puddles of water that once filled it. Several pots were set up to serve and sanctuary for a number of aggrieved fish. Shattered bric-a-brac lies everywhere. Several holes were punched in the drywall and a brass statue of the Buddha is half melted.

The restaurant staff has Ted pinned to the wall with their chests against his. Several kitchen knives are held at the ready.

"I can explain... Joan... explain!" Several pairs of dark eyes turn to regard Joan Wright.

Joan Wright has posed:
Well it may be a holiday weekend but that does not always guarantee an uninterrupted break when you are part of a group that works around man-made disasters. As Joan has discovered with her time on the Kord account, some people get their money's worth and then some by opening up an account with her employer. Some clients, she'll just see once a year but with Ted? Hah. She could set her watch to him. If she wasn't using the replacement Kord-less phone to keep track of time that is.

The call came recently and she was quick to arrive. Upon hearing one of the affected locations, she managed to get here before the rest of the team that have signified they are on their way. Seeing the damage upfront, her eyes widen before looking over to the blue costumed hero. "I can't believe this." She murmurs, shaking her head, voice raising to indicate upset, "I like this restraunt T- Blue Beetle!"

Frowning she fidgets with her phone, taking a few quick photos of the damage before walking over to the crowd, waving them over away from the glass. "This is definitely under your plan." Joan comments. "Okay! We have some people coming in to take care of the damage but I need for you to step away from the glass so we can take care of the fish, okay?"

Ted Kord has posed:
Ted Kord looks side to side. "Blue Beetle Brutalizes Bistro barkeeps and Busboys!" one headline says. "Blue Beetle Stabbed in Face 72 Times--Dead!!" reads another. He narrows his eyes and regards the man who looked over at Joan first. The others followed his motion. "I will pay for everything the insurance doesn't cover. In fact I will put the money up front. No waiting for insurance payoffs. The repair crews will be here any minute. He carefully extracts a wad of bills from his belt. "For all the smashed decorations and the melted chubby guy and incidentals."

A silent signal is passed. The knives vanish. Everyone cues smiles and nods happily.

"Money is its own superpower," Ted says with a sigh.

Joan Wright has posed:
"That was Buddha!" Joan corrects, voice raised as Ted mentions a chubby guy, shaking her head as the men back off. She waves people over over to the side as she squints, assessing all the places where glass may have fallen. "Please step away, I don't want anyone to get cut." She gestures over towards the far end with an open hand while looking to the remnants of the aquarium, considering matters.

Once she's sure that there's enough separation, she balls up three fingers, leaving the thumb and pointer finger extended. Waving it in smaller circular motions while pointed to the floor. She takes a deep breath, and lifts up the phone to scroll through a list of contacts, bringing the phone up, "Hello, Aquatic Emergencies? Do you happen to have a the Behemoth-grade Commercial Aquarium on hand? I need to get one delivered ASAP. Installation included. We got some fish in need here..."

Ted Kord has posed:
A table and a couple of chairs are quickly righted and Ted marched over to sit. He acks! as a hug lobster bib is tied, a little too tight, round his neck. This is followed by a cooked lobster. "I'm sorry I don't liiii... never mind. This is like the time I ordered food in that Parisian cafe and some wiseass gives me a plate of snails!" More plates of dumplings are spread out. "I'm going to be paying for this, aren't I?"

"For quite some time, Mr. Beetle," the waiter admits, patting Ted on the back.

Joan Wright has posed:
Joan glances over towards Ted as he's being served the dumplings. A brow raising as he protests the food. A hand covers over the receiver, "Just eat it, the dumplings are delicious."

She turns her back to the group, giving the specs for the aquarium, her eyes fixing upon the framework. "Yes. The movable one. Do you know where the Hot Dumpling Restaurant over i- Yes. THAT one. Yes, that tank- Okay! You know where to send the invoice. I'll see you soon!"

Mission accomplished, she hangs up the phone, glancing back towards the staff. "The replacement aquarium and installer should be coming by shortly." She glances down as her phone beeps, causing for her to check the messages, "And the others should be coming in soon after."

She smiles to the rest of the staff. "I'm sorry for the inconvenience. They'll work as quickly as possible to get you guys going again."
