Sight of the 2017 World Security Conference

The was straightforward Hill would attend the World Security Conference as a guest and a speaker and Hunter, on the ground before hand having worked his way into the convention room staff would rummage a few rooms and bring but back information on what Russian Minister Karkanov was getting involved in agents at the conference believed to be working for AIM.

Simple enough, but then why was Hunter was over an hour late? He was supposed to rendezvous before take off and now an hour later the tower was getting antsy about the various excuses about why they weren't in the air.

And as yet no sign of Hunter.

Maria Hill has posed:
Ops Director Maria Hill is drumming her fingers annoyedly against her bicep, arms folded across her chest as she stands on the tarmac. "Seriously," she mutters to herself, already over being here. Explaining security protocols and response times to a bunch of politicians always made her angry, even if she was usually good at hiding it. Usually. This entire weekend had been an utter disaster as far as her sanity was concerned, and on top of that Fury had sent her a message he 'wanted to have a long talk about the future of the organization' when she got back to the Triskelion.

And Hunter is late. AND at least six of the "maintenance" and "aircraft guidance" crew milling around working were absolutely spies. Russia, Belarus, she was about 90% sure that one was China, Kandaq, and the pair that pretended NOT to be working together were absolutely paid for by the UK. Really. This is amateur hour and that is really under Hill's skin.

Lance Hunter has posed:
That's when Hunter appears in Hill's peripherals, still dressed in the black tie servers outfit from the conference with a briefcase in hand. He stops short spotting the menagerie of 'not spies' around the plane and ducks into cover.

Then everything seems to return to normal, one minute, two minutes, three, then the Russian 'maintenance man' passes by Hunter's position and suddenly vanishes behind the same cover as Hunter was using. Another minute passes before a figure dressed in the Russian's maintenance uniform, hat pulled low over his eyes emerges, smoothing down the rumpled front of his coveralls and walks purposefully towards Hill on the tarmac.

Once he reaches her, Hunter looks up from under the brim of his cap. "Sorry 'bout the wait, Director, wheels up in 30," he says as he walks past her and straight onto the ramp of the waiting Quinjet, his coveralls crinkling with stolen papers with each step.

Maria Hill has posed:
"You're late," Hill points out, boarding the Quinjet behind him. There isn't heat, more annoyance. "Too many eyes and they are too sloppy. Anything I need to be made aware of BEFORE we take off, Agent?" This is Hill's not amused face. Its the same as her normal face, as she has resting not amused face.

Lance Hunter has posed:
Hunter unzips the top part of his coveralls and produces the papers from the target's briefcase, and after rummaging around the lower section he produces the flash drive holding it out for Hill before he thinks better of it. "Second, thought I'll hang on to that," he says, stuffing it in his pocket and putting the papers away before heading to the pilot's seat.

"Mmm, not really, 'cept there was more security than we expected. Meant I had to get creative in getting the briefcase, losing the guys chasing me, and getting here. Good news though, 99% sure they didn't peg me as SHIELD." He starts up the jet and gets the door closing. "Well more like 94, I think I dated one of the Russian agents one time but I don't think she got a look at my face..." he busies himself with the take off.

Maria Hill has posed:
Hill's look says a lot of swear words without her having to utter any out loud. "Well, you got everything Fury wanted," she sighs, slipping into her own jump seat and reaching under it by rote to double check to verify the ICER that is supposed to be there, just in case, is. "I am assuming those are the originals?"

Lance Hunter has posed:
Hunter can /feel/ those unspoken swear words burning though the back of his head. He lets out a breath. "Yes, ma'am," he says. "My Russian's not the best but it looks like it confirms our guy was making a deal with AIM," he digs out the paper files and hands them back to Hill. "If you want to have a look?" he offers before getting them in the air and headed on the fastest course towards international airspace.

Once it's set Hunter glances back. "Not to be a bother, but, Bobs, I mean, Agent Morse, her mission report back yet?" she'd been sent off around the same time on a separate mission.

Maria Hill has posed:
"Agent Morse reported in on time and will be meeting us at the rendezvous point," in this case, The Swordfish once they all returned to the Triskelion roughly on the same ETA, "And I believe you're buying," Hill replies with a half-smirk as she takes the papers. She looks through them quickly, and once she's satisfied, tucks them away. "This is the fourth of these sorts AIM has been reaching out to. They are up to more than their usual... something tells me I may be sending someone into the thick of their plans sooner rather than later."

Lance Hunter has posed:
"Good to hear," Hunter says, the relief audible in his voice. It was no secret he and Bobbi were a thing. "And looking forward to that rendezvous, Bobs and I've got some vacation saved up and-" he says grinning at first but then his expression falters a little as Hill talks about the AIM operations. "Gonna guess, that vacation's on hold then director? Which one is it going to be me, her or the both of us?" I mean there were other agents, but last he heard Ward was in Korea, and Barton and Romanov were off on some mission in Budapest.

Maria Hill has posed:
"Don't ask right now, and I won't have to lie to you," Hill replies testily. "It will depend on what I can get out of the eggheads over in R&D anyway." She doesn't clarify, but she's got more of the bigger picture than Hunter does.
