Roberto da Costa has posed:
Last time on Heroes Assemble!

Roberto quietly basks in the presence of his X family, while watching the speakers, though when it comes to Alexis, his eyes widen a little, but he keeps his composure, through what is a lovely, speech, at the end though, he whispers to Sam. "Your girlfriend is Allegra Caradenza, from Pro-Humana," he says. "And she's probably in a whole lot of trouble."

Now...

Roberto looks to Kitty, sliding his arm off her shoulder. "Looks like I have to go save Sam's girl's ass, but if you want to wait for a few I'll give you a ride back, got the tires fixed on the Maseratti and everything," he says, the old ones got stolen when he left it overnight in Mutant Town, in all it could have been worse. Then more quietly he adds, "Don't even have to talk, just ride, no problem."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty didn't hear about the tires, but makes a mental note to ask. She glances away from Roberto, still wearing the big hood pulled up over her head. Her eyes drift across the scene, and perhaps think of what the subway will be like, over to where she could catch a bus.

A glance back to Roberto. To say he's a more appealing option than the subway and the bus is an understatement of monumental proportions. Even for someone who'd sought to be alone today.

Though if you sought to be alone, why did you come over and join them, Kitty's inner voice asks.

A little nod is given. "Sure, I'd appreciate the ride," Kitty replies quietly. "Go help Sam. And... his girl. I'll have to hear more about her," she tells him. "Later."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto waits, coat blowing in the cold February wind off the East River, that sometimes wound its way through the streets of Mutant Town. He gives Kitty space, letting her make up her own mind.

When Kitty makes her choice, Roberto leads the way to the car, yelling back to Sam. "Start looking for her, I'll catch up."

He's quiet as they walk, hands in his pockets until they reach the car and he hits the fob to unlock the doors with a flash of headlights and a beep. Music starts playing, it's Journey and Roberto grimaces. "Got stuck in my head the other night," he says you can change the stream if you want.

He lets Kitty get into the car, the music playing in the background.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde walks along quietly at Roberto's side, not even glancing towards Sam, or his search for his date. That she's not joining in the search is by itself an unusual thing for her. But then the moment is itself not an everyday one for her.

Kitty nods at Roberto's comment when the music comes on. Her soft brown eyes study him silently for a few moments, her thoughts inscrutable to anyone but Jean or Rachel were they present. "It's ok," she says softly of the music, and slips into the car, closing the door once she's in.

She sits quietly then, lost in her thoughts while Roberto helps Sam with his female friend. Not even really paying attention to the other people in the area leaving the rally, not until Roberto returns.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto's gone maybe fifteen minutes tops, enough to play through a trio of Journey songs, before the door opens and the Brazilian youth returns. "We found her," he said, pressing the ignition button which responds immediately with the fob in the car. "Brave girl, but dumb." He says, before glancing over to Kitty.

His expression softens, "Offer still stands, no talking, same time, if you want to I'm here," he says to her gently before putting the car in reverse and sliding it smoothly out of the spot and onto the New York streets.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty lowers her hood finally, when Roberto rejoins her in the car. She turns to look over to him, the young woman subdued, but otherwise looking ok. "I'm glad you found her. I'll have to give Sam a hard time later," she says quietly, though it lacks the normal playful tone that Kitty would usually have.

As Roberto offers silence, Kitty gives a tiny shake of her head, her eyes moving to look out the windshield as the car gets moving. "No, it's ok," Kitty says quietly. "Besides, watching you try to not talk would probably be the most uncomfortable thing I can imagine," she says. Though the tone still lacks the playfulness, Kitty does look over to him, her lips attempting something more of a smile for him even if it only partially succeeds.

Kitty gets a curious look. "You mentioned the tires. Something happen to them?"

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"Definitely do," Roberto says glancing over when Kitty drops her hood. "Idiot got hooked up with the daughter of the head of Pro-HUMANA that big bunch of jerk celebrities that hate on mutants," he says with a shake of his head. "I think I understand why Scott looks pissed all the time," he says running his hand through his hair.

There's a smile at the little dig thrown his way, "Fair," he says.

At the talk of the tires, Roberto nods, looking pained and exasperated at himself. "Yeah, left them overnight in Mutant Town, costly lesson in, remember Illy can do portals." He shrugs like the money is no big deal. "But got her up and running didn't I girl?" he says patting the steering wheel.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty's nearest eyebrow goes up when Roberto mentions Sam's choice of women to pursue. She does it well. When she was younger she'd sit in front of the mirror practicing that along with her Vulcan "live long and prosper" hand greeting. "Wow. Well... wait, was that the girl who talked at the microphone? I guess the fruit fell far from the tree then?' she asks.

As Roberto gives the explanation of the tires, Kitty's expression falls a little bit. "I'm sorry. I didn't have any idea anything happened to your car," she says, looking a little bit guilty. Not that she did it, but still. "I hope it wasn't too bad?" she asks, wincing slightly.

Kitty's eyes go back to the road. Wheel in the Sky comes on over the stereo. "Thank you," she tells him quietly.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto catches Kitty's Spock eye and chuckles, it worked for her. "Yeah, not far from the tree would be the /logical/ assumption," he says. "It was super brave what she did, but it's probably going to get her dead unless we do something, Sam's trying to get her to run, we'll see how that goes. I'd have stuck her in the trunk and brought her to the school, but can't be sure if Sam's being played or not. Would make a hell of a feint to get a mole in our doors right?" he asks.

He shakes his head at her apology, "It's my fault, nothing to be sorry for," he says before smiling over at her, adding, "Or the fault of that, what third round of shots?" It was all a little hazy. "Logan taught you well in the ways of drinking."

Another smile as the song changes, " Like this one," he remarks idly bobbing his head a little to it. "And de nada, Kitty," he tells her. "I meant what I said in my speech, you're not alone, you've got people, and you're going to get through this. Hell, you'd get through it even if you were on your own, but this way's better."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Still looks a little chagrined that his car got vandalized on a night she was with him. She falls silent, but does look over with a grateful look as he mentions what he said in his speech.

She doesn't comment, though the words mean a lot to her. More of that quiet reflection happens as the car navigates the streets of Brooklyn, heading for the highway out of the city to the north and up into Westchester.

Finally she glances over and asks, "Have you had a chance to talk to Doug or Illyana? I haven't really been the most social I'm afraid. Didn't get a chance to find out what happened to them. No signs of Doug's body yet that I've heard of though, so hopefully nothing bad," she says, her tone a little more subdued than normal for the joke.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto catches the gratefull look about the speech and smiles. "It's true, you're a badass, it's kinda hot," he says with a bit of the old, less serious Roberto showing through there in an attempt to lighten the mood.

Roberto keeps his silence through the ride up to Westchester the city giving way to trees and houses with front lawns, and leafy driveways. Home.

"It's okay," he says about not being social. "And I have hear second hand that Doug still lives, but I did see Illyana and she gave me nothing, it was infuriating. Like talking to a statue when she wants to be. But they left together, that had to be a good sign right?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty nods and says, "Not a bad sign at all. To be honest I've never really known what Illyana's type is. Just sort of seemed to vary, and often catch me by surprise when she'd express interest. So, glad to see them getting on well." Kitty looks as the familiar stretch of the country comes into view, the school not too far ahead.

"He's never really had an easy life. I think probably what he went through with the kidnapping was even worse than what I did, even if he was older. And..." she trails off. She doesn't want to bring up Genosha. "And recent stuff," she says quietly, shaking her head.

Kitty glances back over to Roberto, her expression thoughtful. "Did... ah... Illyana ask anything?" she asks.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"Me neither," Roberto says of Illyana and her type. "She's a hard one to crack, probably even for Doug," he says. "I'll admit there was a time or two I've wanted to be her type," he adds before looking over. "Strictly physical, I mean I don't want to be King of Limbo or whatever," he says. "But yeah, glad for them both, especially after everything Doug's been through, and Illy, but you know how she is, hard to remember she's been put through the ringer as much as anyone. Especially now, y'know? It's nice to find someone." He keeps his eyes straight ahead.

As for questions? "No, but I mentioned she and Doug left you and me with the bar bill and Sam picked up on it. Told him we kissed, and that it was no big deal," he says glancing over. "Figured since we didn't really define things I shouldn't talk on it one way or the other."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty sits in the comfy leather passenger seat, head turned over to the side watching Roberto now as they make the turn onto Greymalkin Lane. "He'll probably give me a hard time," Kitty says with a wry smile, though without taking her eyes from Roberto this time.

"We didn't really, did we?" she comments quietly. "I don't even really know what to say. My head is... I don't even know where, right now," the young brunette woman tells him softly.

After a moment there's the feeling of her hand touching his arm. "But I know it was good, whatever it was. It was... you were, what I needed that night," she tells Roberto quietly, looking over and remembering his kiss in the bar.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"Well he's your friend, Kitty," Roberto says, "I'd be disappointed in him if he didn't give you a hard time. You can tell Doug if you want, just let me know if it's going to be around the whole school. I don't want to be 'snikt'ed without warning," he says with a smile.

"No, we were a bit distracted at the time," Roberto says with a faint smile. "And yeah, I needed someone to be close to too," he says. "Glad it was you," he let's that statement breathe a little before he offers, "How about we don't define things at least tonight? Maybe meet up again when things settle a bit, talk it out?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty gives a nod of her head in response to Roberto. "I'm fine leaving the answers to what you said you gave Sam," she agrees. She gets a faint smile about the mentioning of being snikt'ed. "I kind of wonder what he'd do, at that. He never really had to. I mean, it's not there was ever... anything," Kitty says with a little shake of her head at her chasing of Piotr Rasputin, who was already an adults and she a young teen.

Kitty glances back over to Roberto. "So, Illyana, just for physical reasons, not wanting to be king. So you got a thing for blonde's or just..." Kitty says and uses her hands to make a curvy motion. Illyana, yet another of Kitty's friends who ended up developing before her. Even though she was technically quite a few years older than Illyana, though not in terms of actual years lived.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"That works," Roberto says as the school gate is illuminated by his headlights and he clicked the remote clipped to the car's sun visor. "Guess it would depend on the guy," he says as they go through the gate. "Piotr," yes it was hard not to notice the crush. Roberto hand wobbles. "Me? Definite snikt," he says with a nod, some of his amusement fading with the statement, but only for a second then it's back.

"Yeah, really should have thought before I said that huh?" he says. "Yeah I like her for," he mirrors her hand gesture, "And she works the blonde thing. "But if you're worried, don't be, you've got your own thing, and it's very hot. Seriously, you don't want to know how many boys were hating on Piotr because all you could see was him."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty gives a quiet chuckle. "Logan probably just worries he'd dull his claws on Pete," she comments. She watches the gates swing inward to let the car inside. There's always something comforting about arriving back at the school.

The car rolls up the road and Kitty glances over as Roberto implies how many boys had been interested in her. The comment makes her chew her lip thoughtfully for a second. "Well. It's been awhile since I've even seen him," she says finally, and adding a little shrug as the car pulls into a parking space. "Thank you for the ride. And the talk," Kitty tells Roberto quietly.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"Yeah, real danger there with Piotr," Roberto says, sharing that moment of returning home with Kitty. There was something about coming back to Xavier's that he didn't feel anywhere else.

Roberto nods as he brings the car to a halt on the gravel drive and turns off the engine, bringing 'After the Fall' to an early end.

He doesn't comment on Piotr, though, just nods, "De nada, Kitty," he says of the ride and the talk as they walk on back home.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty gets out of the car, glancing at the tires. "They look good," she comments before she walks along the sidewalk from the parking lot to the front doors. She takes a step ahead of Roberto as they reach them, moving up on a step in front of him and turning back to the taller Brazilian man.

Kitty leans over and brushes a soft, chaste kiss to his cheek. "Thank you," she tells him again, before pulling up her hood and heading inside, and off to her room.
