Jackson Mathias has posed:
Central Park, so early in the world the sun is just coming up over the park itself, long rays of sunlight. Jackson is sitting down on a bench, his fingers working around a silver dollar, flicking it, rolling it around his fingers. His eyes closed now, as he starts to bite his lower lip; next to him is a simple, cheap cup of coffee with that broken plastic style, it's cracked down the side of it. Coffee is leaking out of that crack as he sips it slowly, next to that is an empty donuts box, nothing but crumbs. The trickster is resting now, his eyes look distant.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
The early morning park is quieter at that time of day. But even in New York there are still large numbers of people who are up early, jogging, or cutting a shortcut through the greenery on their way to jobs that require someone there early on a Sunday.

Kitty Pryde is neither of those. She never did make it back to Westchester last night, instead crashing at a friend's after she'd lingered in the park for long enough she didn't want to deal with the long ride back. Even then, she'd been up late, searching the internet and reading up on magic tricks.

She hadn't figured out how the trick that she'd been a willing participant from the audience was done. She already knew a little about the topic, and had learned new things in her reading. "Only way I can think of he could have forced me was if the whole deck were the 5 of clubs," she says, talking aloud to herself. "So he'd have to be able to present any card on the table. But how? Maybe somehow it gets triggered and set up before the flames, but it'd have to fit under the table cloth," she says to herself, trying to work through the possibilities.

She stops to get herself a cup of coffee and then continues on. She rounds a bend in the paved trail when she spots the magician himself up ahead on a park bench. Kitty walks over, slipping a hand into a pocket and pulling out a 20 dollar bill. "I didn't get a chance to give this to you before you moved on," she tells him as she walks over and offers it to him, flashing Jackson a soft smile.

Jackson Mathias has posed:
"Hello pretty helper." That cajun accent, dances along the words as Jackson watches her for a moment, as he stands taking the twenty, as he chuckles softly. His hand is slowly bringing that hand to his lips, as he kisses it with a little smile, as that twenty is waved in front of her, than it is gone in a quick flash of hand motions."Thank you so much, you did a very fine job helping me Mi Cherie." His eyes locked on to hers, as he sips that coffee, as it leaks down on the pavement, with a little chuckle."It is good to see you once more, so what brings you back before the break for decent folks to be alive?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
The reaction gets a bit of a grin from the brunette. She's wearing the same clothes as yesterday, shorts and the t-shirt, but doesn't have the windbreaker that she was wearing last night. Though she looks freshly showered and chipper. Kitty gestures towards the north end of the park. "Was just heading home, crashed at a friend's last night. I live further upstate outside of the city," she tells him.

Kitty's hands clasp lightly behind her back and she sways her body side to side in a way that is probably meant to look a little cute and also might suggest to Jackson what's coming next. "You have me totally stumped on how you did that trick," she tells him. "I like to work these things out, and you've got me on this," she says.

Jackson Mathias has posed:
"Now, it seems the trick worked as desired, to worm into your little grey, to make you wonder so you return to see it again." Jackson nods slowly his hand is traveling along her arm, as his hand is removes something quickly, it is a card with his name and number on it."I do private parties as well." That business card is placed into her hand, as he once again sips his coffee."My name is Jackson."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty takes the offered card, looking at it and then back up to the man. She grins at him thoughtfully. "I know a good magician never reveals his secrets. But there's a saying that great magicians sometimes reveal them to those who will go crazy if they don't know," she counters.

After a moment she shrugs and says, "Or if there isn't such a saying, I'm making one up on the spot." She gives him a hopeful look, trying to manage something like puppy dog eyes to help convince him. If she'd known she was going to run into him again, Kitty would have practiced in front of the mirror before coming.

"And my name is Kitty," she tells him. "So I don't suppose revealing a trick to the party planner is part of the arrangement?" she asks with a hopeful grin.

Jackson Mathias has posed:
"It is not, no-one gets to know my tricks, they are mine and mine alone." Jackson chuckles softly, watching the girl with a wide smile, as he winks at her."Now, if your wish to hire me and pay for supplies, I would have to list it all out, and a smart little trouble maker." His hand is tips her in the forehead, with a little chuckle."Might be able to figure it out right?" His voice is teasing, as he sips his coffee watching the park ,as he sees a cop his eyes going wide."Well, I need to be off."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
A soft laugh is given by Kitty at the possibility of figuring it out. She also realizes he's no doubt milking her desire to know the trick in order to get a hired engagement. Nor does she blame him for it. She's helped enough mutants who got by from busking that she wouldn't begrudge him the slightest doing what it took to earn a living from his skills.

Kitty holds up his card and gives it a tiny shake to draw reference to it. "Well, I'll have to see then if I can't find someone in need of a magician for a birthday or something," she tells him. "Just missed mine back in July." She slips the card into a pocket then as Jackson indicates he has to be going. "Alright, was nice seeing you again. Jackson," she tells him with a smile before letting him depart.
